Pancham puri wala is a very affordable place situated just near cst station. Even though the place is crowded you can enjoy your meal with comfortable seating. It is a place for desi food. Most crowd here is of office going people. They provide you with mirchi achaar with is bang on! Thalia, chole bature, biryani, puri sabji every single thing here very much of enjoyable food.
You hardly find good food in Mumbai, and this place is one of those rare gems, which has authentic North Indian taste in their poori and subzi.
It really cannot be explained...

Visit this place once in life .😊
Here at Pancham Puri You can have tummy full Food with reasonable price in South Bombay. But if you are looking for some Hygienic and Sophisticated restaurant than please don’t go here. As the setup is very old and very small place. But this place is not just a restaurant but an experience so I will say A must visit. North Indian people won’t find Sabzi so tasty. But do try pancham puri (Five types of puri basically with different different stuffings) & Aam lassi (It tastes heavenly)
Work from home because of lock down. Lots of work so ordered pancham puriwala. They serves north Indian food. Food was delicious.
All day breakfast available here at Pancham Puriwala. This restuarant is ages old. They are serving the same menu dish Puri Bhaji for generations and ages.
Why only Puri Bhaji? Because they are specialised in serving it.
What one can Expect? Varieties in Puri and Bhaji. Sukka Bhaji and Gravy like Chole available here.
They have quite affordable meal which you can have anytime in day. Located in busy streets of Fort, right opposite to CSMT station and near to Mumbai GPO. The street is always busy day in and out. At restuarant you will find simple, classic ambiance. Not much of decor, you can find restaurant's newspaper appearance right in top of restuarant. Seating Arrangements are made available in good number. You can share table or can have your own group together. They serve really quickand fast. Quite affordable price for any menu dish. They have pickled chilli's also serving on table which gives flavorto puri bhaji.
Masala Puri is one you must try. Try Aloo Subji Puri which is quite traditional here. Some gravy dish to try and even they have entire platter of puri. At end go for lassi as well.

Tried deluxe thali. They have about 6 different types of thalis and good news for all the jain people one of them is Jain too. Deluxe thali has 4 katoris of different sabzi, puri, sweet, rice, dal and papad. Really full wholesome meal for 120 rupees. Rare to find so much of food at that price these days.
Pancham puriwala is a must visit if you are in fort, it's something you can not miss out while you are in Mumbai, it's a bang for your buck.
The thalis here are quite famous, you can order from a variety of options. I recommend you order the deluxe thali, it's definitely worth the money you spend.
The food is fresh, tastes really good. End it with aamras and you will be in heaven.
Revisited here after almost a year and it feels good to be back. This used to be my go to place for a long time as it was near my previous work area. I can't really choose the best dish in here because I like everything they make. Will return again.

Pancham Puriwala, Fort, Mumbai
Have you heard about any restaurant which serves just Poori right from breakfast till shutting down the shutters?! Pancham Puriwala near Victoria Railway Station on Fort is the place which poori lovers shouldn't miss! 😍
Mumbai is a huge city, if you are traveler then you must be visiting South Mumbai / Old Mumbai region for sure. Old Mumbai which has the most number of tourist attractions of Mumbai has a different vibes too. This region of Mumbai has banned auto-rickshaws hence have most disciplined road manners than any part of Mumbai 😁 After seeing the places I had to see, me and my friend were hungry. My friend is a poori lover who can eat poori 24/7 surprisingly there is a restaurant close to Victoria Terminus by name, 'Pancham Puriwala' who serves poori throughout the day and have got good reputation too.
Place is small and shabby, it has ground and mezzanine floor. There will be queue to get in, not a fine dine, one has to be prepared to share the table, have quick pooris and leave the place. Their menu looks interesting, though they serve rice items & curries, rest other items are just different versions of Pooris! It was around 9 when we went there so I wanted to try their Thali but to my surprise they have choices in Thali too. I ordered Pancham Royal Thali which is the premium version of their thali. Unlike regular thali, Pancham Royal Thali will have stuffed pooris! You might have heard a joke saying vegetarians will eat just 'paneer ye, paneer wo, paneer in orange color gravy', seems this restaurant have taken this joke seriously! Their Royal Thali (rest other thali have regular curries) will be having palak paneer, paneer chole, kadai paneer and paneer pulav, isn't it a good news for paneer lovers?!😍 Apart from that dahi vada, dal, aloo gobi dry, chaas and gulab jamoon is served. Right from poori to gulab jamoon every item tasted fantastically delicious.
If you love poori and ok with weekend crowd then this is the place I highly recommend in South Mumbai.

If u have very small budget then perfect place. Whatever you order... Taste of it feel like home. Or may be better than that.
Pancham Puriwala has always been the best deal when it comes to low budget yet fancy lunches. It doesn't burn a hole in your pocket but yet keep your taste buds satisfied.
I have been here many a times.
We have ordered thalis, mixed puri thalis, Aamras and many more varients.
Forget the oilyness for a while and hop onto the wonderful taste this delicacy has to offer you.
Visited this place recently as I heard alot about their thali's😋
I tried the Pancham thali.
Really delicious & tasty
Totally worth it
Had a great experience.

this hole in the wall place definitely won't burn a hole I'm your pocket. Comfortably located at a street crossing near CST, this tiny place serves quick and delicious thalis at dirt cheap rates. The quality of the food is definitely top notch though. PS: go easy on the big bowl of chillies, if you don't, definitely have their lassi. 😛
I never eat like that before it's too tasty and you know it's the bestest shop in that area in that budget item and clean too with caring goods serving, I cannot explain best hotel in Mumbai
Right Outside CST station stands this vintage old school offering for everyone who fancies a subtle indian meal. This place has a sort of cult following and is worth the money. All the dishes are decently priced and you can fill your tummy under a 100 rupees here.We went in for a Chole Masala Puri. Their Chole is spot on and masala puri is quite an art which will leave you stunned. What comes next is even better.Their Special Thali manages to get you up and running. I just can't praise their Lal Puri enough as it is something out of the blue that i never had before. This tad bit spicy puri served with a trio of bhaji's is a treat for everyone here.
Iconic place with a legacy of 150 years...proving simple , easy going food can also be an amazing treat to the taste buds. Had their Delux Thali...The veges were too good with balanced spices... varieties of puris which is their speciality were so distinct... Very well located only they need to work on the crowd management & the cleanliness... Otherwise no where in Mumbai you get this quality of food for the cost you are paying...Every Mumbaikar should visit at least once...
I saw many videos featuring this place. Pancham puriwala is known for its taste and reasonable price. So, when I visited, I had to wait in a queue and check it's menu. I loved it's deluxe thali and dryfruits-loaded lassi. The meal is sufficient for two people. However...Gulab jamun were okayish. They are not the greatest to be honest. Otherwise, everything was worth every penny spent.

Pancham puriwala is situated just 5 mins away of cst station and is often crowded. This place has history of 170+ years and many generations of serving amazing food. This place serves puri bhaji, chole puri and various types of puris and thalis. I had ordered pancham thali which is served with 4 different puris (2 masala, 1 palak, 1 beetroot puris, loved the masala puri), 3 vegs, pakodi kadhi, chole, alu bhindi fry, pulav, raita, papad, gulab jamun and buttermilk/lassi. This all is just for Rs.150 and everything tasted so homely and delicious. It is definitely a must visit place and its totally pocket friendly!!
Tip- This place is often crowded, packed specially during peak hours and you might have to wait for 15-30 mins in queue. so plan your visit by keeping the waiting in mind!
You are stepping into history that is more than 170 years old!
. .
From the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi to veteran superstar Rajesh Khanna, and music director Khayyam, this unassuming eatery attracts diners from all walks of life from businessmen, office goers, college students to humble taxi drivers.
Now run by the sixth generation of the Sharma cousins, namely: Sandeep, Anupam, and Akshay, this eatery dates back to 1848, and a certain Pancham Das Sharma.
. .
If you want to drop by to have a taste of its iconic puri-bhaji, ensure to reach the restaurant before 6 PM. Because post that, the eatery is jam-packed with diners devouring scrumptious meals.
. .
A single plate of puri-bhaji is served with five puris and a sabzi. So why five puris?
The name of the founder was ‘Pancham’ which means ‘five’ in Sanskrit. . .
Delux Thali for ₹120 (if you are in Mumbai this is a must visit place for you) . .
Had masalapuri with bhindi . It is yummy. I visited on Sunday morning but yes rush is there and it is worth money
Today i was at cst and visited here for lunch. There is long queue for seating there. I am standing about 15-20 mins in the queue. I ordered 1 thali. The taste was superb. The rates are also very reasonable. Rates are worth the taste.
Place near cst stn have an amazing varieties of thali at a very pocket friendly price.Best indian food.
This place gave me a wedding meal vibe. Homely food, great taste and quality. Extremely pocket friendly. Ate way too much and paid just 330₹ . Lovely food , will visit again!
Pancham Puriwala- 5 puris 6 generations
This is one of the oldest eatery located outside CST station, also it is famous for varities of puris and we highly recommend this place.. Inspite of being crowded all the time their staff and service were excellent. And the taste is just worth the hype generated by the mumbaikars.
In frame is Sada thali which cost us just Rs. 70 and you'll can see how filling this thali looks..
Gulab jamun is just not to be missed, sorry couldn't click a picture of it as wo aate hi khatam hogaya🤤😋 #bombay_bhukkads #panchampuriwala #foodporn #mumbaifood #ancienteatery #foodlove #foodgasm #gulabjamuns

Its located in the office area of fort so the major crowd out here is office goers. It provides good food at great prices. I tried the chole puri, and chole paneer bhature and it was delicious. The quantity given for the price was very good. I also had sweet lassi and it was good
Tried the famous chole puri from this outlet. The plate consisted of 5 different varieties of puri, 1 small bowl of chole, which was delicious and pickle. The puris were really good and were served hot. Rates are very reasonable. So if you are low on budget do try this place.
Well I have heard a lot about this place as it is a 172year Old Food Joint but never got chance to try. But today I was near CST station and was feeling hungry as it was during lunch time hours. So the first place that came in to my mind was this place. The place is always crowded as customers rush in a lot.I ordered the Famous 5types Puri along with some Chole and Aloo Bhaji. The 5 puris consist of Normal Puri, Masala Puri , Beetroot Puri, Palak Puri, Paneer Puri. And all the Puris tasted amazing and tasty. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is very friendly and always welcomes you with smile. So this place is definitely and a must try out.
Pancham Puriwala is one of the oldest hotels in Mumbai. Generations have passed by but the taste remains the same. Thali + Buttermilk = Best combination😍. Make sure you have enough time because the tables are always reserved (on first come first serve basis) here💯
Deluxe Thali at Pancham Puriwala is just amazing . They have various types of Thalis available. They serve Authentic Indian food available . Fully packed with customers throughout. A very compact restaurant serving food since a really lomg time .
Nice food with very reasonable to your pocket. They have so much options of Puris and sabjis and the place is so famous that you will find it crowded always as they are serving from more than 100 years and earned the trust of their customers. well giving -1 due to ambiance and uncomfortable sittings food was great
Great assorted pooris. Super tasty and not expensive at all. One of the most famous iconic places.
If you are near CST Station, and feel hungry want tontru in veg then you can search and visit this place. There is always waiting for.But you are alone or 2 person you will have to wait only for 5-10 minutes as its my personal experience.People also order for take away food. They served all type of Puri like masala puri, plain puri, nachani puri, methi puri, palak puri etc. They served the awesome chole puri, puri sabji.
They also served Pancham tgali which comes with different sabji, different puri, GulabGam, papad, Rice and butter milk.
Any restaurant which is crowded definitely will be a safer place to eat. Pancham Puriwala is a similar place, small restaurant, legacy of over 150 years and yummy puries.
Don't expect luxury seating as the food is the USP here and not ambience.
I had breakfast at the fort area in Mumbai. It was a good place with little tight sitting area. We had pancham poori thali. It includes five types of bhaji, chaach, 3diffrent types of poori, papad, and sweet. Value for money and must try place.
Pancham puriwala is one of the most iconic lunch meal restaurants in town. While their taste is good, they heavily score on the Value for money factor.
They have a range of thalis for which they are most commonly & famously known.
Highly economical lunch option with a varied variety of options .
I tried their pancham special thali - coz how could i not !
It came with a mixed variety of puris, papad, sheera , boondi raita, aloo bhindi dry, paneer gravy, chole masala, pumpkin dal (yum), dahi kadhi with pakoda, and a raswale aloo (liked this least) and chaas, as well as a masala bhaath.
A good VFM & quickfix meal if you dont get too much of a line for your turn !
A place which is not at all heavy on your pocket & serves some amazing food ! The place is usually crowded so you may end up waiting for the table ! The food is just too delicious , but if you r someone too choosy & selective about the hygiene this place may not be your go to destination ! Otherwise this place is totally worth a try !
A Vintage restaurant since 1840's.
Maintained Simplicity from Generations.
#panchamthali includes
5 veggies + 4 Masala Puri + Kadhi + Paneer Pulao + Dahi Vada + Chaas + Papad + Gulab Jamun

We visited Pancham Puriwala at dinner time on a Sunday evening. Our order was -. Chole, Aaloo Palak and Aaloo Methi with Puri (5 served) and one special Thali. The special thali serves 4 puris (2 masala and 2 palak). One very good thing about the place is that they serve hot puris in the thali (2 and then 2 after a while).
The individual puri plates had a more than sufficient quantity of the vegetables ordered along with a side serving of their gravy aaloo sabji. The aaloo sabji was slightly spicy for a normal palate but goes very well with normal puris.
The Special Thali had 4 sabji - Gravy Aaloo, Chole (different from the one served with the single puri plate), dry aaloo gobhi, kadhi, mutter paneer, boondi raita, gulab jamun and rice (basmati). Go with an empty or medium filled stomach and you can easily finish off the Thali!!!
Everything was a little spicy but very tasty. Ambience is simple and there is a general waiting period of 10 -15 min before table is available.
Service is quick which is really good.
Pancham looks like it is going strong for its 171st year.
My next visit will be in summers to try aamras masala puri (masala puri was filling and tasted very good) and shrikhand puri.
Pancham Puriwala is a legendary budget eatery located near CST station,
serving lip-smacking puris/thalis at a very budget friendly rates since ages.
This place is always crowded with college students, office goers, foreigners etc.
The interiors are not fancy, but the food served here easily attracts a lot of customers.
We recently tried der Pancham Special Thali , which consists of
4 different types of puris,
boondi raita,
papad,
mix veg gravy,
kofta kadhi,
chhole,
mutter paneeer,
aloo gravy,
Masala fried veggies,
Paneer Pulav,
Masala Chaaas
and
Gulab Jamun *phewwwww* 💛
everything priced at only rs.150/- 💸 great deal!!
So if you are in the mood to relish some hot golden brown, soft and crispy puris, then Panchan Puriwala won't disappoint!!! 💚💚💚
Their puri thalis make you nostalgic ( especially north indians). It's the most paisa vasool restaurant near CSTM.

Small joint just opposite CST Station, hidden in the byelanes.
Limited seating and always crowded in the afternoon. Could be cleaner.
Service is fast and always with a smile. They will patiently explain you the dishes.
Best known for its variety of puris. We tried the MIX puri (five types of puris) with alu and it was super.
Top it off with their JUMBO Kesar Badam Lassi.
Rates are too reasonable and a must try.
Pancham Puriwala is one of the oldest eatery nearer to CST in Mumbai where one. An see the flour dough balls being rolled and flattened and deep fried into hot oil and getting crispy fresh puri onto ones plate. So we had one special puri thali and one shaada puri thali which includes 4 puri, khadi, raita, basmati rice, paneer, chole, dahi balle, papad, chaas, sweet and in the plan thali you will get kadi, puri, regular rice, papad.
It’s super cramped you will not find place to sit and they have take away service too.
Food is tasty and authentic. I really liked their chaas and special thali which have variety of puri in it.
Cost wise - cheaper (300 for 2)
Tastewise 5/5
Service -5/5 (very fast)
Always Crowded
I tried dulexe thali here, and I am so impressed with the food and staff.
> very healthy food
> good family crowd
> clean and neat ambiance
> enough food for two people
> tastes very nice.
Pancham puriwala a small eatery place for breakfast, lunch, dinner located at CST Mumbai Fort, heavily crowded all the time, that indicates the taste, and quality wch really matters. They are specially serving poori's in variety which really tastes ultimate the one Wch I personally liked was stuffed with paneer crumbs. Furthermore they have thalis n a la carte too in the menu and then you will find a full bowl of pickled green chillies on every table, Kadi is just yummmm.
Yes it is pocket friendly and serves quality Visit once when you are in fort Mumbai
Pancham Puriwala is a legendary Mumbai restaurant that has been serving up delicious North Indian fare for over 160 years and above. It is located opposite CSTM railway station, making it a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat before or after your train journey.
I have been to Pancham Puriwala on multiple occasions, and I am always impressed by the quality and taste of the food. The restaurant is known for its puris, which are light, fluffy, and perfectly fried. But the thalis are also excellent, offering a variety of delicious dishes at a very reasonable price.
On my most recent visit, I had the Pancham Thali for lunch. The thali included aloo sabzi, chole sabzi, puri, roti, dal, rice, and raita. The aloo sabzi was rich and flavorful, while the chole sabzi was hearty and satisfying. The puris were perfectly fried and served with a generous helping of aloo sabzi and chole sabzi. The dal was creamy and delicious, and the rice was fluffy and well-cooked. The raita was a refreshing accompaniment to the other dishes.
Overall, the Pancham Thali was a delicious and satisfying meal. The food was well-prepared and flavorful, and the portions were generous. I would highly recommend the Pancham Thali to anyone looking for a tasty and affordable North Indian meal. The restaurant can be crowded, especially during peak hours. The seating area is small and cramped. I highly recommend the Pancham Thali for lunch. It is a delicious and satisfying meal that is well worth the price.
Affordable
Tasty
Quick service
What else do you need in rush hour to fill your hunger?
A fantastic place to eat Puri with different bhajis and different types of Puri as well.
Just near CST anytime you can walk in and get Puri,
I had masala Puri chole accompanied by aloo gravy too.
Pancham Puriwala started selling poori sabji from 1848, even before the CST station was constructed. They sell varieties of food items, but famous for it's Panchami Thali which has 5 different types of pooris (sada, beetroot, masala, paneer, methi) served with different sabjis, rice, papad, kheer, boondi raita and chaas.
During rush hours the waiting is longer, customers need to adjust and sit as the space is a bit small. Service is good, worth waiting for your turn to get a seat and have delicious food severed in here.
Note: They do take care of the Jain diet as well
The place is a great option to dine in for not only vegetarians but for all.The food especially the thali is pocket friendly and the quantity is enough to leave you full ig. Hence if you're looking for a place to dine out for lunch or dinner it would be great. The food offered is not only vegetarian but is also under the Satvic category. Hence it's a great option for vegetarians and a must eat place if you're looking to dine out. Now as it's located within a lane which makes the space for parking already cramped also which is just beside the main road finding parking space for your car might get a bit hectic as it's located beside CST which usually is a crowded place hence if you get parking it's well and good else you'll have to park somewhere else and then come walking.
It's within walking distance from CSMT station. The seating arrangement is not at all comfortable. Pancham Thali was good. All puris fried in Dalda Vanaspati. Kadhi pakoda made in Mastered oil, Alu sabji was best. Kheer was like Rice mixed with a little milk and less sugar. Butter milk was ok. 4 types of puris were good. Paneer sabji was average. If you want to try, just order a small quality of anything or share a thali between 2 or 3 so that you can get an idea if you really want to order another one or not. I recommend this place if you want affordable tasty and simple food around CSMT station.
For lovers of Puri Subji, this place in Mumbai is a must-visit. They serve it up North Indian style, and the subji, achaar, and chaas are absolute must-tries. We went for the Pancham Thali and Veg Puri—both delightful. Plus, it won't hurt your pocket. A perfect spot for a satisfying Puri experience.
This a vintage hotel more than 170 years old.
Famous for its specail puries and thali
They have wide range of thali and other delicious options
I have vistited this place twice and i alwats loved it. Its located just outside CSMT station
Must visit
Food was delicious as compared to the price. We had ordered Pancham Special Thali. The service was nice too. The staff are very well behaved and polite. The place is generally crowded during lunch/dinner time, so be ready to stand in the queue. There's a single wash basin which was ok. And, due to the lack of space, a stranger might sit across you on the same table.
One of the oldest restaurants of Mumbai. The taste is still the same when I had eaten here 23 yrs ago. Superb options for the food. Even breakfast and lunch and dinner too. Pocket friendly. Only vegetarian food.
Overjoyed I was - eating at this more than a century old restaurant ! In the morning when you are on the run and you get to eat such delectable meals served piping-hot, you’ll be overjoyed as well.
In 1848, a humble man - Pancham Sharma - came to Bombay from Agra on a Bullock cart. He started an eatery/stall in those days to feed and to earn. He started with Pancham (5) Poories, Aaloo Bhaji and pumpkin sabzi🎃. People devoured it like they were hungry from ages. Present day - not much has changed in the restaurant with addition of a little more dishes to the menu. And that simplicity of their is the essence that people love Pancham Pooriwala so much.
The restaurant has a simple seating area with quick service. I had the Pancham Thali which had Plain Poori, Beetroot Poori, Palak Poori, Paneer Poori, and Masala Poori. A Paneer gravy sabzi on the side - we had a terrific meal.
I was so excited to come here and have their meals. My excitement was worth the great experience I had while having their signature poori dishes.
Do not miss the place when near CSMT !
When I visit in the afternoon it was already full.. I ordered chole puri. Had a good taste. Service was quick.
It's a very old restaurant where one can find various types of Puri. Ordered a Royal but instead I got a Regular which was not at all acceptable but then again the taste of foods were awesome so I kept it and they also gave me a refund. I wouldn't say that the experience was out of the world (obviously it was not because of the wrong item) but it was good. If you are open to take a free suggestion, I will say don't order instead just visit there if you have some time to spare.
A delicious thali!!
Ranging from dalpuri to spinach puri, Puncham Puriwala has it all👨🍳⭐
Pair it well it lip smacking range of sabzis and sweets
In picture is the Pancham Thali⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall experience was good. Test, quality, quantity, and hygiene are maintained properly. But the rush to this place was very high and it's a cozy place. So have to wait for 15-20 minutes to get a seat. At this place, you can't relax and enjoy the food...
My (late) dad visited this place on his lunch breaks for many years of his work life and kept reminiscing about it post retirement. We finally made it here in his memory. The server still recalled what was his favorite, and that was amazing. What's even more amazing is the amount of food one gets at such prices. We had the royal thali complete with Rose Lassi and everything was tasty. Enjoyed the trip, the service, the food, and the price. If you are a Mumbaikar then worth visiting at least once, as an iconic joint.
One of the iconic place to have food in Mumbai Near CSMT. That too where there is no good options in only vegetarian restaurant in this area. Food is amazing. Must try their masala puri with anything chole or aalu or also their pancham puri thali is also the best one. There is always rush. Small seating area but always full and need to wait for sometime. Must try their Veg Biryani with papad. The place is very pocket friendly and wont dig a hole in your pocket.
