Was always on my bucket list as heard a lot about their food. Finally did so yesterday. Ordered Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, Shahi Paneer and Roomali Rotis. And it lived up to the expectations. The butter chicken was succulent and melted in the mouth . The tandoori was delicious and the Roomali Rotis were soft and thin as they should be. The present situation is difficult for all restauranteurs but Khane Khas nailed it. Kudos to them.
Order in a lot from here. The food is very tasty and the portions are really good. Big pieces of tandoori chicken and delicious chicken tikka masala. If your looking for something simpler, try the daal khichdi.
The restaurant is very well ventilated as its open from sides with a lot of space for sunlight and freah air to reach in. Classic wooden chairs, tables, high chairs and ledges to keep your drink and food dishes. The service is pretty cool. The drinks don't take anytime to serve while food takes a little while to prepare. Overall pretty decent.
It's a very nice place located at Pali Hill.
Note : It's a small place so book prior tables for your family.
They have a good variety of options with some great quality of food.
We had visited this place on Christmas night!
the staff is pretty welcoming and courteous.
We had ordered :

Among the string of choices of food places in this lane in the heart of Bandra, I cannot think of a better place to satisfy the foodie in me. This is my new favourite biryani place. Khan-e-Khas has been around for over 25 years and is situated at the crossroad to the 16th Road in Bandra. Unassuming and one might stand and wonder if one should venture in at all. The place has a couple of tables and chairs and very basic rustic roadside ambience. Do not be fooled by the look of it. Let your nose lead you. Trust your nose. The aroma of biryani wafts across the road and it simply means that you have got to try this. Great food and total paisa vasool (value for money).
Thankyou:)
We grabbed some rolls and their paneer tikka and mushroom . Everything was fab ! the paneer was sooo soft like melt in the mouth types ! the chicken roll was nice too ! Also tried the gulab jamun and the Rabri ! Good food ! Worth the cost ! Friendly host ! Ambiance is ok !
The most fresh and scrumptious Chicken Tikka Roll I've had in ages. Juicy and tender chicken pieces. Even the rommali and the Green Chutney were fresh adding to the overall taste.
Might I add all fresh ingredients, quick turnaround time and very aptly priced and pocket friendly.
The other day I visited this place with my friends. It is a small restaurant with a seating arrangement of 10-12 people at Max. They are a bit on space crunch so as far as ambience is concerned, this is not the place where you can get your date to. But its is a worth place to go to with your friends and have mughai food and naans.
They are best known for their butter chicken and my all time favorite butter garlic naan.
But, what steals the cake is their impeccable service. The restaurant staff is extremely responsive and you wouldn't have to wait too long even when this place is crowded!! The waiters are pleasant and ever smiling which gives this place a very positive vibe. Love to visit this place again.:)
This would have been a five star review had they had a better establishment. It’s like the shy student with a 4.0 GPA that not many people know about because of its’ modest exterior. BUT. Hold on. Their butter chicken is the thing of dreams, the diet breaker, the vegetarian converter, paneer dethroner and basically the best food in town. The biryani, roomali roti, chutney, everything is fresh and the quality is out standing. Forget how it looks, go in, eat and be in taste bud heaven.
4.5/5
Delicious food, experienced both dining and delivery. Dining had great service too. They also gave us complimentary phirni to compensate the electricity cut off (which was not their fault) and this talk in heaps about their awesome hospitality.
One of the best places to go to if you're craving authentic Punjabi food. I have tasted almost every dish and loved them all. Start your meal with masala chaas and end it with rabdi. It can't get any better. This place gives you the vibe of a typical Punjabi Dhaba, which is amazing. The staff is extremely courteous. The owner, Mr. Hardeep takes personal care of the customers. Great place.
Super super amazing food. The dal makhani and tandoori was insane. Must visit if you crave for real north indian in Mumbai. I bet you will come out asking for more.
True value for money and stuffed mushrooms are a must try if you are cheese lover, tasty explosion. Wonderful soulful and delicious experience. Kudos to the team.i have eaten twice would love to go back.
Khane Khas has been my go to place for Indian food since I was a child. The food there is the best. The biryani has just the right amount of rice and filling for the perfect taste. The kebabs are so so so soft and amazing in flavour, it can’t be missed! For parties, the rolls are the most convenient thing to call for! It’s a must visit place and if not visit, they offer home delivery! Ps: my favourite is the stuffed mushrooms😍 please try it, don’t miss out!
Located in the corner, this is a very small join with good food.
We ordered pahadi chicken tikka which was not much spicy and tasted really good. The good part about the place was the service.
One thing which I really liked about this place was decoration and utilisation of space.
We also ordered Balti chicken which also tasted really well.
Food: Awesome
Service: Quick
Staff: Courteous
Ambiance: Nice
Parking: Not Available
Definitely recommended but take care of parking!
A regular go-to place whenever we want to order Indian food at home. Extremely consistent with their taste and quality. Must have - Chicken Tikka Roll !!
This place is one of my mainstays. Predictable quality, comfort food - love the people. Great at home delivery. Very rarely have I had a bad order. Love their arbi took, rolls and biryanis.

I ordered chicken murg biryani and it was deliciously delicious , so happy to have eaten the biryani, nice and fresh, feels like it has been specially cooked for you. Thank you Khane khaas...Keep up the service and standard. Loved it.
A quaint little joint at Pali Hill, this is a must when you are craving some North Indian Punjabi comfort food. The food here is good, clean, wholesome and so very tasty. The people at the restaurant are very nice and hospitable. While, they are known for their non veg preparations, vegetarians like me also have a good amount of choice. I would recommend their paneer makhani, yellow daal, black daal.
Absolutely flavourful and mouth watering Murgh Biryani (Chicken). Loved the dish (matka) in which it was packed and given and it absolutely made my evening. The gentleman at the counter was very courteous and it didn't take time to get my food since this was a takeaway. It's a really good way to end my Monday! Thank-you! Cheers!
Some of the best Punjabi food in town. Do try the rolls here. If you like fancy places and an amazing ambience... This is not the place for you. This is your typical Punjabi dhaba with finger licking food. Don't let the ambience stop you from trying the food. Order from them! Their service is really good too. Now if you'll excuse me, let me stop reviewing, and dig into my food.

A small seating space. A bit cramped. But food is good specially chicken dishes were well done. Service staff have been helpful in recommending
There are so many outlets in Bandra and we always want to try a new one. This time we went to Khane Khas, a small restaurant and glad we tried it as they serve awesome food and the service is superb. We ordered chicken tandoori, Chicken Rogan Gosh, roomali roti, boondi raita and chicken biryani. Chicken rogan gosh was bit sweet so we ordered butter garlic naan with it. Overall good experience 👍😊 Apurv Dhavale
Khane Khas is a no frill restaurant known for its authentic North Indian cuisine. The place started in the 80s anhd as a great fan following among food lovers of the city. The place offers one of the best Tandoori Chicken I had in Bombay. It is very well marinated without any food color being added to enhance the look. It speaks through its flavor and is succulent and roasted to perfection. Apart from this, I tried their balti Mutton which again was good, the mutton pieces were tender and the gravy was flavourful and mildly spicy. Though I didn't like their chicken gravy dishes partly because it had boneless chicken and the gravy itself wasn't really flavourful.I would like to visit the place again and try their famed dal makhni and other vegetarian delights..!!!
PS: I tried their Dal Makhni on my second visit and found it decent, it's more Luckhnavi in preparation style than Punjabi.
Ordered mutton biryani on a friend's suggestion. Flavoursome and not at all oily without being dry. Ullu went ahead and ordered a starter of pahadi tandoori chicken - perfectly cooked without the flavour of the green masala overpowering the meat. A must have if you order or eat here. Another dish Ullu tried was their kasuri methi chicken a rich curry with roomali roti.
The food here is great!! Their tikkas are delicious.. the portions are also quite filling!! The dum biryani is a little on the sweeter side...could be the carrots or tomatoes used.. nevertheless, it tastes great!!
We have been ordering food and visiting this place for over 10 years now and it's always amazing. It's one of the few authentic punjabi food places in Mumbai. The dal makhani is probably the best in the city.
Atul and Harpreet are always welcoming and their staff is also very well trained.
A lovely place to taste mughlai cuisine in bandra were have a lot verities to eat and beverages as well.
Khane khas is located in bandra (w) Linking road which is very close to my work and opp of mini Punjab Hotel.
Last night me and my staff friends came here to eat dinner.
As we entered the fragrance of food made us more hungry and starte away we took the menu and started ordering our food.
Chicken seekh Roll.
Jhinga fry roll.
Butter chicken afgani.

Dal makhani.
Egg and chicken Biriyani.

These are the dishes were ordered by us after waiting for sometime food start coming to us and the roll as we ordered as it's came to me , can't wait and started eating, for me the rolls was good because chicken was a bit salty and prawns one was perfect.
As I mentioned mughlai, I loved the all food and we really enjoyed it.
Biriyani was delicious and butter chicken Afghani was the main dishes for me as I ate and liked it alot.
I'll surely recommend this place for nice Indian mughlai food.
I asked for the chicken sheekh roll, paneer Kadhai roll ,paneer tikka roll , aloo tikki roll , chicken Bhuna roll and butter chicken roll to be delivered at home via uber eats . I was really impressed with the quality and the size of the rolls , really worth every penny . All of the three rolls were delicious especially the chicken sheekh , I would definitely order again from Khane Khaas I’m super impressed and more than just satisfied with Khane Khas , definitely a must try place to get food delivered

Lovely Reshmi Roomalis with traditional butter chicken was worth the wait. Chicken khichadi is not to be missed. Dal Makhni didn’t live up to my expectation though. Thank you!
Food has always been great.. worth the money. always only ordered as a take away. prompt delivery and great service. Would be great if they could open an outlet in Navi Mumbai as well.
If there was a rating higher than 5 then Khane-Khaas surely deserve it !
Have been visiting it regularly or ordering from here ever since they opened some 28 odd years ago !
Never have reviewed it as I guess it's like eating at home for me n my family !
Awesome kababs,tikkas,rotis and gravies.
Quality and taste has been consistent over the years ...no wonder they are still doing well ! Very good service and quick home delivery too.
Khane khaas doesn't need a review but anyways keep up the great work !
Best paneer paratha i should say. Friend of mine says chicken paratha is also yumm!! The staff is so courteous and attentive. A small place with few seating, definitely worth trying.
good, tasty food delivered hot .. nice experience
Well I live close by and have tried few dishes out here and they are simply amazing. I wanted to write a review since a long time so here's it
The staff is courteous and friendly , always up to the mark. The owners are very good and always on their toes. It's a very old place and one of the good quality restaurants in Bandra locality.
I have tried butter chicken, corn and methi paneer, paneer tikka masala, fish tikka dry, fish tikka masala, paneer burji roll, paneer tikka roll and chicken tikka roll. I liked all the dishes and the quality is awesome
I'm never disappointed with the quality.
Never a disappointment! Have tried almost everything on the menu.. polite staff, a brilliant manager, and a great experience!
Highly Recommended
Consistent quality . Good prices. Dependable .One of those places you turn to when you know you want it right .Tried almost all the rolls and few chicken dishes.Loved it all.
Good Food. The Tandoori was excellent.
Followed the instructions perfectly as I wanted non oily and non spicy food
Amazing rolls and prompt service. Yummy !!!!
Loved it! Simply looooooved it.. best dal makhani I have had in Mumbai so far... The kadhai paneer was also amazing... Had a lacha paratha and a butter naan too ... And also a garlic cheese naan... All of it was too good. Keep it up guys!
My parents used to order from this restaurant and as I was just passing by this hotel and since I wanted to have a quick bite, thought of giving it try after a long time.
We quickly ordered rolls it took around 10-15 mins but the food we received was totally worth waiting for. We quickly finished up the rolls and then we reordered for another round.
This place has indoor sitting only and no AC. The owner is very friendly and takes care of its customers order. Overall it was a good experience.
Must try - Chicken Seekh, Mutton Seekh and Paneer& Mushroom Roll
Food - 4/5

Have been living in khar-bandra area for eternity and yet I somehow missed this gem. The seating is very limited but the taste more than makes up for it. The butter chicken is some of the best I’ve had for a while now... goes well with the garlic naan. The chicken tikka biryani was perfect. The staff is polite and courteous..... loved the rustic flavours... good vibes .... will explore more here in the coming months
Consistently good food so far. I wouldn't hesitate to order from here if guests are dropping in for dinner and fancy some Indian fare.
spicy but not overtly. generous quantity of prawns in biryani. good quantity.
My all time favourite for over a decade . Their quality , pricing and service are unbeatable in this area
This is VFM joint serving the people for decades with same consistency in quality and variety. Have always loved their food (tried only veg) and this joint is first port of call when need to order food or wish to dine out nearby.
I love the place n the food out here.. it's been almost 30 years thus restaurant opened in Bandra west 16th road.. they have maintained their food quality.. the owners r also nice humble n friendly...
I have been ordering food and eating at this restaurant since 4 years. This has by far the best rolls in bandra /Khar. The food quality is consistently amazing. Keep it going guys!
Every time I order from here I statisfied with the quality of food and service ... Great going team khane khaas .
Excellent mutton seekh roll with a packet of chutney ordered from swiggy. It was stomach filling nicely packed wrapped with a gud quality silver foil ..
Too gud .. keep it up guys take care n cheeeerssss
great Indian/punjabi food place
Simple and small place but the staff was well trained , quick and friendly!! Mutton seek kababs were juicy. Mutton and chicken Bhuna rolls were big with sumptuous quantity of meat in it!!
This is a restaurant in Bandra with a small sit out, which serves delicious Punjabi food. Its a clean place, the quality of the food is excellent, the portions are substantial and the all the dishes are absolutely well made and heart warming.
Amazing service, very courteous and prompt staff, most of all they have a tradition from way long back... they say thank you to every customer who has a meal there, no matter how small or big. makes you feel happy while you walk out the door.
even the owner of the place at times does stand up and shake your hand thanking you.
Tasty food. Quick delivery.
We've been visiting and ordering from Khane Khas for years and have always been very happy with the food. Their veg and non-veg biryanis are delicious. The quality of the paneer served is very good as are the paneer dishes from the tandoori section. The fish tikka and various chicken tikkas are enjoyable. When we visit, the staff is always polite and helpful with their suggestions. This is our go-to restaurant for North-Indian food.
Khane Khas is a customary spot for many Bandra-ites on Holi for the Bhang, which is quite amazing in itself. However, if you're ever in Bandra and you're in the mood for some good Indian food, you should walk through the doors of this place. The butter chicken is authentic, not to sweet and it's got that nice tomato zing to it, or you could have a prawn biryani if you're in the mood for something a little different. All the breads are amazing too. Hell, I've even had dal khichi here once when I was sick and that too was quite good. But what I love about this place is the dessert. Get yourself a rabdi after a meal or the sooji ki phirni, they are both really good. It scores extra points in my book for the earthen pot the biryani and the desserts are served in. And though it won't win any awards for decor or ambiance, but all that doesn't matter to me if the food is good and it is. Probably why they've been around for so many years!
Awesome food, nice hospitality, courteous staff.
Thank you Khane Khas for making our evening wonderful.

Excellent local restaurant with very helpful service, great Indian food. We had fish biriyani, egg biriyani, and mushrooms stuffed with cheese and cottage cheese as a starter. Everything was truly delicious. Lime soda with salt is also a must. Thank you guys.
Authentic North Indian food with mouthwatering tandoor delicacies. The eatery boasts of an exhaustive menu of grilled items and regular stuff in both veg and non-veg options. The taste, spices and marinades are delectable. It is a very small place with limited seating and hence, there maybe long waiting hours especially on weekends. The staff is polite and well trained. Wonderful place!
Wow we were so impressed with this place. I think it has maybe been our favorite place to eat in all of our travels in India. We heard from some people that this place was very good so we went for it and ordered their specialty - pahadi tabdoori chicken, dhuan chicken. Both were fantastic, flavorful and smoky and really rich. Wow they were so good. After such a mind blowing experience we decided to order from them two more times! Their butter paneer tikka masala and aloo mutter gobi were also incredible dishes.
Another outstanding dish we had here was their vegetable biryani - oh my gosh it came in a clay pot and was packed with so many veggies and flavors it was mind blowing! YUM! Their dal makhani was also so deep and rich and delicious and easily our favorite dal that we have had in India.
Khane Khas can you please open a location in Austin? :)
Nice little place with limited seating options at Bandra. We ordered lassi, tandoor roti, butter Rumali roti, tandoori chicken and bheja masala.
All the items were excellent except the bheja masala which had a coconut milk aftertaste which I didn't like and lacked the punch of spices. The tandoor roti was smaller and not as soft as I anticipated it to be.
Service was excellent. The location is excellent.
Very Authentic Punjabi food, really really Tasty. We had the Dhuan Chicken with Butter Rotis.
very rarely you'll get such a sweet service at a busy restaurant like this, this shows that they take effort.
This place is a perfect example of how looks can be deceptive due to the small size seating space but that gets compensated by the delicious authentic North Indian food with mouthwatering tandoor delicacies along with superb service by the staff & the owners / partners who are always around to supervise the staff.
I have been a Khane Khaas customer since the first week when it started in 1989. I first ate there on the 3rd or fourth day when it started.
The place will never disappoint you be it the taste of the food with consistent quality & service for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians as they have a variety of indian dishes to choose from. The consistent taste over the years is absolutely a delight. The spice pastes and marinades used in the gravies are delectable & never overpowering.
I have eaten & tried out almost all their dishes, mostly the non-vegetarian ones & I love many of them like pahadi tandoori chicken, dhuan chicken which are flavorful and smoky. Not to forget the usual favourites like Butter chicken & Chicken tikka masala. The Goat bheja masala is amazing as well.
Their butter paneer tikka masala and The shahi paneer are incredible dishes. I also love the sarson ka saag & makke ki roti when available in season.
Their dal makhani is also so rich and delicious. But a word of caution for those who will expect it to be similar to the dish they get elsewhere. This dal makhani is a bit different style of cooking yet that basic flavour of the dal comes through.
If there is one thing that I would like to steal from Khane Khas it is not your recipes or your cooks but Atul's voice.
My visits to this place have decreased now. Being a Diabetic my sugar level spikes up due to Hardeep's sweet talk.
Continue the march to the half century guys.
Atul Sahani & Hardeep Chadha.
Best wishes.
Yatin Deshpande
P.S. I also fondly remember Nutan who sadly not among us now.
Amazing Food, Family Restaurant, Excellent Services. The Owner Is So Warm Hearted And Welcoming. It Was A Lovely Experience. I Would Rate Dishes, Services And Staff A 10/10.
Food is excellent here. Just felt a little cramped there's limited seating here so if you come with family around 6 people it will not be suitable. The staff is very courteous. Had a great dinner
