This is one of the best authentic eat out place in Mumbai. It's small and cozi environment takes you to Goa. Its just amazing.
Nice and quaint place. Good ambience and music. It’s the place mainly for sea food lovers. Lots of variety in sea food. The butter garlic prawns and the Tisrya sukha were delicious . Crabs were ok but expected better. Worth trying again to taste other options
We always explore new sea food places . Fresh catch was suggested to us by one of our colleague. Trust me you will not be disappointed at all . Sea food to taste awesome needs to be FRESH ... they stand by their name it’s honestly fresh catch . We tasted 7 dishes but , were not disappointed on single dish . We tried crab , Bombay duck , prawns , surmai , bangda , squid 🦑, neer dosa 🐠🐟🦀🦞🦐. Prices are bit on higher side . But when the food is so fresh you will not mind it paying 😀Must visit

What an amazing catch! Didn't know this place existed so close to where I live. Small and cozy is how I'd describe its interiors. Service was super quick, staff were super polite. We stuffed ourselves with fresh catch crab soup, Bombil tava fry, calamari chilly sukken with neer dosas, tiger prawns reachede (not sure if I'm spelling it right), and a surmai curry (amboti - spicy) with rice. Amazing place for seafood lovers. We've been to Mahesh lunch home, Highway gomantak, jai hind lunch home, and host of other seafood joints. This one ranks right up there with the best of them. Will definitely visit again to sample more of their tasty fare.
A poky place and a hidden gem located opposite to Sichuan Bistro. A bit expensive compared to other sea food restaurants. You will get the table as it's not crowded much. Also, Prawns dishes are a must try.
Totally a fresh and yummy catch...the restaurant is a small restaurant in the by lanes of Mahim , it has a typical Goan ambience, and a menu that justifies the name Fresh Catch. We tried crab butter garlic, Bombay duck tawa fry, prawns konkani curry , rice , Sol curry and caramel custard and believe me everything was lip smacking.... totalllyyyy delicious, the owner was extremely polite and was truly passionate about his job, he gave us some raw mango pickle to try as well which too was very yumm.The place has a nice Goan kind of an ambience with some nice songs playing in the background, I truly liked this place and the food... The name of the restaurant is absolutely apt since I ate real good fresh fish here today.
Ambience: it's a real small place with less than 10 tables some nice cozy seating and some Goan style music playing in the background.
Food: So we ordered their famous crab meat in butter garlic which was super super yum. However the portion size was really small for Rs. 850. The dish tasted very delicious but I felt it's very expensive.
The rawa fried surmai was perfect. Absolutely fresh. Crispy fried. But the use of garam masala/fish masala could be avoided. As a Goan, we use just the basic turmeric, chilly powder with salt and lil bit of tamarind and that uplifts the taste of the fish. But this was Rs. 425 for just a medium piece.
Goan style prawn curry (not exactly Goan) with rice was tasty. Priced 310 for the curry and 110 for the rice
Neer dosas were perfect.
Later we were tempted to eat another piece of surmai but the server suggested we take the masala fried instead of rawa. It's the same just minus the rawa. But we loved the rawa fried version more. This was another Rs. 425 but this time we got two pieces a lil bit smaller than the previously served medium piece.
Sol kadi had the authentic taste but could be chilled. Rs.80
We finished the meal with the caramel custard which was perfect. Not extremely sweet, well set and delicious.
Overall I loved the food taste, however found the quantity to be less for the extremely price. We paid almost 2800 for this meal. But full marks for taste, freshness and quality. So 4/5
The food was very good, everything was perfectly cooked, the texture of each dish was just impeccable, every fish was fresh and soft, the bebinca was absolutely the best

Heard a lot abt this place but it always managed to skip my mind to eat here.. finally went here.. asked for a bombil fry, prawns rava fry.. both were good .. for mains we asked for prawns biryani and mutton sukka.. the mutton sukka was excellent and the prawns biryani was good.. to top it all up we asked for bibenca with ice cream.. which was ok.. (personally am not a bibenca fan so my judgement here cld be flawed) the service was quick.. the place is small and clean.. the owners comes to chat with u.. and this place has been visited by many celebrities..
Fresh Catch is a really classic sea Food restaurant situated near the mahim Fire Bigade, it really has some great variety of sea food which has one of the best tastes. So on a hot afternoon, I stumbled upon this place in Mahim west... I saw the menu showing names of dishes, I ordered two items namely mori masala and bombil green curry. What stood out for me is the care and utmost attention the owner is taking to keeping it "fresh". The bombil fry was so succulent and juicy and so fresh, it was falling off the bone. The rava fry exceeded my expectation... But what delighted me the most was when the owner explained the logistics he put in place for ensuring his customers get the freshest fish. He is a sincere soul who ensures his customers get their value for money. There aren't many like him with his professional ethics. Go to this joint for the freshest fish in Mumbai.

I always wanted to try this place out as had been hearing good reviews about it...We finally went here for dinner on a saturday night...We ordered for the Bombil fry which was thin and crisp with no oil sticking to your hands or plate...Next up was pompfret pan fried in green masala and rava style which both were brilliantly made having the right amount of spice...Being a mangi i had to try the bangada huggey which was ok,not the 1 we make at home...we ordered for the rice and gravy which is a staple for any sea food meal...And finally ended the meal with a caramel custard...Overall a very good experience and prompt service
A couple of friends and I were searching for good seafood. Unfortunately most of the more well known places were full. We ended up at Fresh Catch and we don't regret it one bit. We had the Bomdil fry, the crab zec zec and the surmai curry. All of the dishes were amazing, but the crab was the best. It really reminded me of the crab dishes in the authentic Goan restaurants. The place is small and cosy with mild music. It's definitely a place to go to eat rather than hang out. But if you are looking for good seafood in Mumbai this is a must try!

Rarely does a restaurant tick all the boxes. Fresh Catch is one of the few that does. Tucked away in Mahim, this homely diner serving traditional Goan/Malvani flavours is ideal for a family meal or even a lazy brunch over the weekend.
We ordered the sol kadi (3 nos.), prawns recheado, bombil fry and squid ring chilli with neer dosa (multiple helpings). These were recommended by the friendly owner and we loved them all. As the name suggests, the seafood here is a 'fresh catch'. The ambience with pink painted walls, lacy curtains, floral table mats, a photo of Mother Mary and 70s and 80s Bollywood instrumental playing in the background instantly transports you to a traditional Goan household.
The service is prompt and friendly. We also ordered the surmai rava fry and sealed the deal with delicious bebinca.

Tucked in one of the bye lanes in Mahim, is Fresh Catch a cozy restaurant with a home like ambience.... The owner there takes a lot of pride in the food he serves (have seen him multiple times in the fish market carefully selecting the best fish not worrying about price)....
We have eaten multiple times there... Apart from the fish dishes which are really fresh we also thoroughly love the chicken rossa kadi (a dish made in authentic mangalore style)...
While the price is bit on the high side, its truly worth for the freshness and yummies loaded in each bite of the dish served here....

The restaurant is small an d quint very homely not much on interiors . The staff is welcoming and friendly the owner is on site so rest assured if you have any complaints it will be heard . We ordered Bomoicars favorite is Bombil fried in rava . Its a fish found only in Mumbai and its a must try deep fried . Another starter was calamari chilly fried which is my favorite and it was just the same spicy and not chewy . For main we went for the konkan prawns which were fresh tiger prawns cooked in a spicy coconut curry it has spicy as well as sour and was well balanced and went perfect with the light Neer Dosa . I would recommend anyone who loves seafood to locate this place and have a go at the food over here you will not be disappointed

Prawn rawa fry - no complaints! Hot! Crispy! Perfect bite sized portions! The green chutney is superlative!
Bombil green masala - nicely prepared, very flavourful. But i'll trade it for a crispy bombil fry any day :D
Surmai masala fry - fresh surmai, a masala that is well balanced, fried just right. One of the most perfect surmai masala fry i've had.
Crab butter garlic - this managed to stand out even with the other impressive dishes! Like a Sachin Tendulkar in a team with Ganguly, Dravid, Sehwag and Laxman! Hit the sweet spot of balancing the butter, garlic and crab! Literally wanted to get up and applaud the chef for this dish! Must try!
Rawas curry - typical konkan style, that hint of coconut, masalas and a consistency that goes with neer dosas and rice alike.
Caramel custard - I loved it! The caramel wasn't overtly sweet and the custard just the right consistency
Bebinca - to be honest, can be given a miss
Sol kadhi - as good as anyplace i've had! Perfect accompaniment for the food.
Service - efficient. Though I would have liked more precise answers when asking for recommendations.
Value for money - I feel that while I think Fresh catch is more value for money than most of the popular sea food restaurants, I will always like to see more portion for the price :P

I don't usually see menu here whenever I go. Mr Francis is a gem of person and he treats his each customer like his family member and make sure he or she gets to eat best of the lot.
I always asks his recommendation. Their bombil fry, butter garlic crab, kingfish tawa fry and prawns curry are to die for.
This is the best place for seafood lover and the homely treatment you get from the staff and Mr. Francis is commendable.

I used to dream that what would a perfect Prawns fry look like or taste like! Then i just tried this outing called as Fresh Catch which is situated in Mahim in a very non happening street! But the food here is amazing, the fish they cook are fresh and in total a different experience!

BRINJAL FRIED STARTER -5/5 amazing just amazing. Such unique Dish and super crispy and tasty.

An absolute gem in the middle of Mahim. Turns out Sachin in his days also enjoyed the cuisine. The butte garlic crabs is a winner. The name says it all. Fresh fish is their USP. You can't find such finest quality fish even if you personally go to the fish market. Preparation is too good. Servers are courteous. Can't wait to go there again. Suggest they open up their branch in Navi Mumbai/Thane where the ambience can be improved.
This is a small corner in mahim known for it's fish dishes. We went there on Sunday in heavy rain, maybe that's why we got a table right away. Some of the reviews mentioned owner being rude but I find him friendly and welcoming. We ordered bombil fry which was crispy but would have preferred it to be little spicy. Neer dosa was perfect, just perfect. Along with it, we had rawas rossa curry which was one of best we have had. Rawas was fresh, had three pieces with good portion size for two people. I would also like to mention their green chutney which was delicious. Don't forget to try the pickle they provide with food that pickle reminded me of fond memories of my Grannys place. Giving one star less because of the prices which are somewhat on higher side. Hope to visit soon.
This must be perhaps the best Goan sea food restaurant in Mumbai. Visited this place recently with family. The place truly lives upto its name 'Fresh catch'.
At start we ordered Sol Kadhi. It was made to the perfection with the hint of garlic. Then we called for one of their speciality Bombil rawa fry.. The best part is that bombil was boneless and were not deep fried but delicately shallow fried. Masala Surmai fry was shallow fried as well. So just loved it. Then for main course we had Prawns sukke and Sippy and shenghe (clams curry). Both dishes were flavourful and tenderly cooked. Am definitely visiting this place again and again. This is the best place for fish lovers😍..U guys can try any of their sea food cuisines..it's just amazing..I am sure that the resto wouldn't disappoint you. Hidden in the lanes of Mahim, is this jewel of a place. Tried the Rawas Hariyali and the Surmai masala fry with some fluffy oil free rotis and it made for a perfect Holiday lunch.
This is the best Seafood restaurant in Mumbai, especially for the Goan cuisine. I've tried a lot of other restaurants in the city but nothing comes close to this. Have visited here for more than a couple of times. The place is chic and on weekends booking is suggested. Order any food you want (I'm talking about Goan cuisine) it'll live up to your expectations and will hit your right taste buds. However, surprisingly they don't have Chicken cafreal which I think they could add to their menu to make it better.

Had been to this place the other day, amazing sea food. As per their name the fish is extremely fresh and tasty. Loved everything that we ordered.
Hits: the surmai fry and bombil fry were to die for.
Misses: the prices are a bit too high, atleast 20% higher than what they should be or of what others charge. Also the sole kadhi portion can be increased.

Directly purchased from Citylight market on daily besis. When it comes to test, its an authentic Goan delicacy. I would not eat if they are not serving mouth watering Bombils or Crab butter garlic. Most of my guests from abroad loves to eat here whenever they are in town. I actually keep myself on fast before visiting this place so that I can cherish the delicious food. One of my Nephew never had fish before and this is the place he started eating Fish. What else we want if the kids are liking the food. Paisa vasul!!!

My mum's a big fan of seafood. I have been to fresh catch no. Of times but it was the first time for my mum. It was a Friday afternoon, so the glass of solkadi was soothing enough to quench our thirst. We ordered the surmai fry which had two big slices with some salad. Fish was very fresh and fried perfectly in red masala. The prawns ordered were served on a sizzler plate and looked very tempting. I personally love that tangy spicy preparation. Prawns were small but super juicy and went well with rotis. They are known for their green curry, so bombil green curry with rice was ordered for main course. The curry has flavours of coconut and tamarind. It is a nice change from our usual red/orange curries. Not to forget.. the Caramel Custard was mouth watering. Most importantly it was not very sweet.. means perfectly caramelized. Can never stop visiting this resto.

Perfectly prepared. Prawns were a bit overcooked for me. We were asked if gravy should be spicy or normal. We opted for spicy but that spiciness was not enough. Tasted more tangy than spicy.
Although the preparation was good, I felt it was overpriced.
Have had almost same freshness or better for much lesser.

Parking for 2 wheelers is possible on the opposite side but there could be a problem for 4 wheeler parking.

When you are in no mood to compromise in taste and ready to spend a little more than usual, this is the place folks! I like their prawns curry called 'Amchi Tumchi Sungota Amti' very very much. I rarely like any restaurant's prawns curry but this particular prawns curry is really very tasty and its consistency is just how it should be with fair qty. of prawns in it. This is because their curried are made in coconut milk so you will never feel the plain water content in the gravies like we usually do. Their fish fry with Masala coating is also good as they don't deep fry the fish but shallow fry. I personally don't prefer rava/suji coating fish unless there is no masala coating option available. Neer Dosas are good. In short, this restaurant will never disappoint you when it comes to their gravies n curries. I am giving 4.5 stars. I would have given remaining 5 points if the quantities were satisfactory. Yes, the quality is good but quantity is little less than it should have been. Still, it's taste makes it outstand other seafood restaurants. Go for it guys! Min. ₹1000 for two.

Good sea food is a blessing and the sea food at Fresh Catch is superlative. Kudos to Mr. Francis and his staff for exceptional hospitality. It is a small place but the food packs a huge punch. Be prepared to wait for a few minutes , however the staff attempts to have you seated as soon as they can. Mr. Francis reccomends a few dishes and my advise would be to hear him out. I went there for the Crab Butter Garlic, which seems to be a bestseller and was completely blown by it. The crab is de-shelled so one can enjoy the meat without the mess. We also ordered the Surmai masala fry and half a portion of fish roe/gaboli. Utterly lip-smacking and delicious. For the mains you can't go wrong with Neer Dosa and a portion of Baby Shark/Mushi/Mori is an amshe tikhat flaming orange gravy. Perfectly tangy and spicy at the same time. At the end of it there was no space left, else I would have ordered the sippe/clams pulav a d the caramel custard looked so heavenly. Will leave that for next time. Fresh Catch is a gem of a place if you are a sea food worshipper and is quite reasonable with its pricing. Ritwik Sawant
One of the freshest fish I ever had . I had pomfret Rechade and Pomfret shallow fry. Excellent preparation and fresh fish. It is worth the money...

For main course we had Neer Dosa..prawns gassi and Mutton Rosss.
Fresh catch is a small outlet with limited seating..it is always advisable to have prior seat booking..
Been here incidentally due to no choice left for meal in the noon but after that I visit this place religiously whenever I feel like having fresh sea food.

The exteriors of Fresh Catch is misguiding. A hole in the way restaurant, this place does not accommodate many. So I would urge you to book a table or go early.
The food is absolutely delectable. Every bite is sure to take you back to you back to Goa. This place assures you a good quantity of food for a reasonable price. The quality of fish and preparations is by far superior to every food eatery I have been to.
You will usually find the owner of the restaurant around. He helped us in making a choice- cordial and jolly.

Nice restaurant in mahim serving maharashtrian sea food....bombil fry with prawns stuffed is good here....little expensive compared to jaihind lunch home which offers similar taste food....
Hands down... One of the best place for sea food which is inexpensive consider the quality of the food you get. I'd like to thank you for bringing back my Goan food memories.. recheado gravy, xacuti, prawns sukka, king fish.. i can go on and on... Had an amazing time eating out here...

Definitely one of the nice sea food places in mumbai. Though the outlet is small and limited seating , it surely make up for in the authenticity of the delicacies served here so lovingly by the owner who happens to serve him self. Food was so delicious that i didn’t even wait to gorge on it. All the best to the team here !

The restaurant serves authentic Goan sea food which is only super fresh but also super tasty !!
The courteous staff and the humble owner (Mr. Francis Fernandes) adds to the entire experience which not only delights you but also makes you feel comfortable at all times. The best part is where the owner himself at times comes to your table to suggest you options as per your request and none of the dishes ever disappoint you.
My favourites : Bombil Fry, Ankita Prawns, veg king fish, butter garlic crabs, chicken vindaloo, Mai’s pomfret ambotik or pomfret rossa kodi and the hot and fresh neer dosas to go with !
In and all, this is one restaurant which I or my family can never take off our list and would happily travel all the way from Powai just to eat their Fresh Sea Food !

Excellent food. We felt like we were in Goa for lunch. Service was extraordinary. You must try cocktails. The bar tender makes them with passion and love. Catches are really fresh. It's a perfect place for a couple, a family, or even friends to go with.

Located on the 2nd floor at Hill Road, Bandra this place now has officially taken over as the best sea food restaurant we’ve visited in Mumbai :)
Coming straight to the order and we ate a lot so here is goes -
Fresh catch crab soup (5/5) we got a recommendation to be made spicy and it blew our minds, amazing appetiser
Bombil Fry (4/5) typical starter, was fresh and crispy
Prawns Rechado (5/5) the winner dish of the day, the size of the prawns and the red masala was so satisfying for the taste buds
Pomfret Harabhara (4/5) green marinated pomfret, tawa fried! Quite juicy and tasty overall
Kane Rawa Fry (4.5/5) we’ve recently discovered the love for this fish, it’s a sea fish, thin and crispy
Rawas Fry (4/5) perfectly tawa fried
From here on we were way too full but our friends joined in and the session carried on, as we called for Mori Suka, Surmai Fry, Neer Dosa and another round of the crab soup. All the 2nd round dishes were also good but I couldn’t have anything more due to capacity!
The service is exceptional, one of those places where you can pay additionally for service charge. The waiters/captains are all wonderful and always up for a conversation and help you with your orders.
The ambiance is soothing along with costal music that plays along, they’ve recently opened the bar as well to go with the amazing food.
ProTip: reservation is a must as the place is small with not many tables and will get crowded during weekends.
Fresh tasty and mouth watering food, prawns and fish dishes are outstanding. Tried all types of prawn and fish fried preparation just loved it. Now they have alcohol as well.
I recently visited this restaurant for lunch with a friend after hearing great things about the food. I must say, I'm thrilled that we decided to dine here.
The flavours in the dishes were exceptional, and we sampled a few items such as Bombil Rava Fry, Prawns Rechado and Crab Xec Xec with Neer Dosa. Each dish was fantastic, but the prawns and crabs were the true stars of the show for me. The masala and gravy were incredibly flavourful, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
Additionally, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was quite pleasant, which added to the overall dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious seafood.
Fresh catch is like its name -truly fresh fish items which are my favourites.Very authentic preparations from karwar( North canara & goan region) we had sol kadi , bombil and pomfret rawa fry, crab meat butter garlic and surmai ambot teek meaning sour & spicy- all hit the perfection in taste.Well managed and with new added attraction of well stocked bar and favourite of many celebrities, strongly recommended if you have not visited and love saraswat and goan fish preparations.

Great service, the good portion was disappointing. Amazing taste, the staff is really nice and courteous and quick. They suggest options for you which are really great.
The gavthi chicken portion was very less, suitable for 1 person and that's why we thought this place is a bit overcharged.

Love this place.
I lost my Mom a few years ago. Apart from missing all her love and care, I miss her food a lot too. She was a wonderful cook with expertise in traditional Mangalorean/ Goad cooking. For years I would miss her dishes and no matter how much I try, I can never get the same taste. Then one day we tried Fresh Catch and the sungta ani bhendi chi kudi so closely resembles my Mom's cooking. Fresh Catch you have cured one pain of mine.
Thanks Fresh Catch for keeping the food authentic. Please don't ever change.
Cool, attractive restaurant with good service. Bombil Tawa Fry was absolutely delicious - fresh, crispy coating and delicate creamy flesh. I also ate Bandga Trifulla, which was good too, as were the neer dosas. Really liked the Sol Kadhi drink as well. Not cheap but happy to pay for fresh fish cooked and served like that.
What an amazing experience! Lovely food..we had mix seafood pulao, amchi tumchi Pomfret amti, calamari chilli fried and Adithya prawns. Fish was very fresh...justifying the restaurant's name. Valet parking is available. The owners are very active in handling the restaurant.

The Sol Kadi was delicious and refreshing.
It was a pleasure to see the restaurant full despite not having a liquor licence yet. It’s expected.
We’d visited is the Fresh Catch at Mahim previously, the building there is going for redevelopment.
It was a great experience today - good food, promptly served and the bill did not bust the bank.
I love that there is a hand sanitiser on every table.
If you like seafood I would urge you to try it!

Amazing experience, the famous sea food restaurant in Mahim has now opened its new outlet in bandra. This has a great asthetic ambience. Loved the food and the service is great too. Definately a must visit.
TLDR: The best sea food restaurant that I have to eat at whenever I return to Bombay.
My dad has known Francis since before he started Fresh Catch since his wife was a patient. Francis was always super involved with the food and I remember he used to go to get fresh fish himself back in the day.
I've never had a bad experience with the food at fresh catch and I've been eating dine in and take out from there since 1998 when it started. Some of my favorite dishes are the Bombil Fry, Rasa Curry, Crab Meat Butter garlic, Ambotic, Xacuti, Neer Dosa, Sol Kadi.
It was sad to hear about the end of his journey during the pandemic, I got to visit after almost 3years and I've eaten from here twice this trip and I'm very glad to see his legacy is being kept alive and to see the flavors and quality is still what I remember from all those years.
Best place for fresh seafood and it was tasty. The ambiance was really cool with light music playing in the background. Must try when you are in Mumbai.
