This is a legendary restaurant in Colaba, that serves the best kheema pav with a fried egg on top with irani chai/nescafe. The other must haves is Brain Masala Fry, Chicken Masala Fry, Mutton Masala Fry. Im not too fond of their chicken biryani as it is on the sweetish side but they have a new chicken seekh kebab biryani which is white. I prefer that one. Vibrant hardworking waiters, quick service and reasonable pricing.
This small T house cum restaurant is very popular in Colaba. Don't go by what appears from the outside as we walked past this lovely place several times and did not feel like going in. But once you are in; the Karak Chai and Aloo Paratha are exquisite and very delicious. There are several items on the menu but we always stick to the snacks. They have daily favourites which are very Indian in taste but as they are made for larger numbers, we found this not so appetising. However, the snacks are made straight from the kitchen and are delicious. Very affordable and the service is not as nice but you pay hardly anything for some lovely parathas. Even had breakfast there and were not disappointed

Initially planned to go to Kyani for Kheema but one of the friend insisted to visit this place. I possibly had the best kheema and mutton roast was icing on the cake. Custard could have been better
Olympia Coffee House, a place in Colaba still not touched by the crowded nature of the other places in the locality, situated just across Cafe Mondegar, this place should have lines outside it.
It is so good, maybe not serving alcohol or accepting only cash is the issue, but why to compromise for more footfall when things are working great.
Don't take me wrong, the place is always full, and the waiters a so attentive that customer service can never go wrong.
An establishment which still has the charm of old Bombay which we used to see in Movies. A good place to have a cup of tea and some omelette along with it at Colaba
I just LOVE this place. Have been coming here for last 10 years (and I stay some 30 km away) and the taste hasn’t changed one bit. They don’t charge heavy money for food and the food is just super. Biriyani is awesome, chicken masala is awesome and their cutlets are to die for! Subhaan Allah...

I generally love caremal custurd for desserts but at olympia i end my meal with a chai.

Had a wonderful lunch here. Ordered the egg bhurji, mutton gosht, pav, bun maska and the irani chai, all of which was amazing. The taste and the flavours were amazing, service was quick and the ambience is great too. Highly recommended place!

It's small, neat and clean outlet which is almost 100 years old.
Tried their bhurji pav, masala Omelette and by the time we ordered their signature mutton Ghosh it got over.
Mind you this dish sells like a hot cake over here they start selling it from 10am and by 10:30 it's sold out.
Definitely a must visit especially for the mutton Ghosh.
Do not forget to try their irain chai and caramel custard.

It is great place for breakfast. the mutton kheema pav was veryy good. Also the bhurji was worth tasting... Tea completes the morning. I'll suggest you to go in the morning... No much crowd, beautiful streets of colaba and amazing breakfast perfect start for the day... Importantly, PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE...

On the recommendation of my cousin brother, I visited this place. I went at 5.15pm. it was fully packed. I wanted to order its kebabs and chicken tandoori. But sadly, I was told it is available post 7 pm since the chef isn't there. So I ordered chicken cutlet, bheja masala fry spicy, 3pav and caramel custard. From the dishes served at other tables, I could make out that that gravy is similar for egg, mutton or chicken. The colour of the gravy is very similar whether you order chicken/mutton/egg gravy.
Bheja masala fry spicy - it was spicy and hot but they bheja wasn't hot. So, it certainly appears that they make gravy once and then on the plate they add the meat either chicken, mutton or egg.
Chicken cutlet - Really hot spicy and crisp. I had expectation of a very thin cutlet but it was thick and very heavy to digest. This to me was the stand out dish.
Caramel custard - Light as a feather as always.
I also wanted to take a parcel of chicken tikka biryani but this also wasn't available. I then switched to chicken biryani but since I was told only 2 pieces of chicken will be provided, I did not go for the parcel. I was also told that early morning kheema pav is the hot menu item and it available till 10am only.
Will certainly visit this place again and will try out their biryani, kebabs and kheema.
Did try Chicken tikka biryani and chicken platter. Both were just average. Ratings changed to 4/5. Its just pre made dishes reheated and served.
NOTE - the menu prices as it appears on zomato is pretty outdated. My bill for the 4 items was Rs 309/-.

Olympia (alongwith Baghdadi, Gokul) has stood firm in the growing culinary landscape of Colaba and South Mumbai. While fancy eateries keep mushrooming in the neighbourhood, old timers and loyalists keep coming back to this place to dig into small portions of their favourites.
Olympia is famous for its mutton special kheema. They start serving early in the morning and you have to be there to grab a plate. The stock runs dry in a couple of hours. The kheema is well prepared and goes beautifully with the cut pav (the art of serving the pay cut 3 ways, joint at the bottom is fading fast. Eateries are finding artistic ways of serving bread with kheema, but I prefer this one). Reach in time and i bet you'll end up eating 2 portions, easy! Add a cup of tea to this fair and you'll be happy for the rest of the day.
For lunch and dinner, you can order soulful portions of mutton boti kebab, chicken /mutton fry masala and the soft bheja fry. Eat this with pav, roti or rice (topped with saalan). Don't expect fancy plating, finesse in their servings, rather you'll have curry dropping from the edges onto the table. But cut that from your expectations, and enjoy the food, only the food.
They also have house specials on certain days : dabba ghosht on Sundays, khichda on Wednesdays and paya on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. If these feature on your favourite list, pls make it a point to drop in, you won't be disappointed.
They also serve delicious sweets, my favorite is still the caramel custard, no meal ends without this.
Olympia is one of the last surviving Irani joints around, and a meal there even today is extremely light on your pockets. When you're in Colaba, pls make it a point to pay them a visit.

Two of us went to the place for lunch. The food is tasty and the service was quick. The food being cheap, is a huge bonus. We had a full chicken tandoori and chicken seekh biriyani. The tandoori was amazing alright, what blew us away was the biriyani. The garlic butter paste is smooth and very tasty. Loved it. Repeat visit to be made.

The mutton was very succulent and the taste was mild and flavorful. We then ordered chai, it was a mild yet flavorful tea that completes your meal.

This is my favorite place when ever I visit Mumbai. This is the oldest restaurant in Mumbai I know so far. Has variety of menus from veg to non veg but most famous for non veg. Staff is very friendly and suggest us good menu and also dishes from today's special. The interesting fact here is the cost of food items which is at Rock bottom. Never saw any restaurant in Mumbai having dishes at such a cheap rate with great taste. This is the must try and must visit restaurant for everyone specially all Mumbaikars..

Nice place bang opp the famous Leo’s. Old style furniture but comfortable seating. Coming to the food, tried Kheema, Chicken Biryani n Chap Masala. Must say that every dish had a unique taste. The biryani was not spicy at all n mildly sweet. The mutton chops were done to perfection. The kheema though very tasty could make with some less oil!! Best part they also serve chapatis, which very few restaurants do today.

Chicken biryani was excellent and so was the tea. Sunday's special Zalka chicken was also well cooked however they only had chapati and no roomali roti. The staff was very polite and the service was quick.

It’s a vintage kind of restaurant and you will feel it as you step into the restaurant. If you are planning to order food then the best and unique option will be chicken Kheema fry with pav (but available in morning only) I bet you will not get such a tasty kheema pav anywhere :-)

Another gem of old Mumbai located at Colaba. No frills, busy restaurant throughout serving delicious non veg dishes. This is a cash only restaurant. Friday they will open after 2pm. I have tried their mutton paya, chicken masala fry, Reshmi kebab, mutton chap dry, chicken tikka masala, Parantha and biriyani. Paya is delicious and it gets over by mid day. Mutton chap dry was tender, delicious and well done starter. Reshmi kebab was ok.chicken tikka masala and chicken masala fry was delicious. Biriyani was very average. In dessert we have one of the best caramel custard and kulfi in Mumbai. This two dishes are must try. Very pocket friendly, waiters are attentive and service is Faster. Do try guys. Happy eating!!

Tried this tasty nonveg house today after enjoying the kala ghoda festival in Mumbai. Must recommended for all to try out once in mumbai. Positioned at heart of mumbai I and my bestfriend planed this last night and ordered chicken biryani which was perfectly cooked with chicken pieces wellcooked and tender wid potato however was disappoited to see boiled rice on top, chicken seek kabab was just out of this world never tasted something so tasty in life yet, similarly tandoori chicken was just full of smoky flavour and was tender to break easiky wid spoon all i coukd complain was it was not very hot and was abit disappointed about that however the tasty was really tasty. All of these dish was way to pocket friendly and field out our tummy to full. I was so very excited for this that i forgot to click any pics but i am sure u would love to find out the same personally wen u visit once.

Olympia Coffee House is located just opposite to Leopold Café, near Colaba Police Station. One of my favorite place in Mumbai for Keema Pav breakfast. The keema is green in colour and has a distinct flavor. Have visited the place during all my three Mumbai trips which speaks a load about how good the keema pav is. It is better to reach the place early as it gets quite crowded. They are open throughout the day and serves various Mughlai items but I am yet to try them.
Bang opposite Leopold. Two floors of seating. The place serves excellent breakfast. Non veggies' delight. A variety of mutton and chicken dishes . Keema pav for breakfast was exvellent and accompanied by 'keema ghotala' it was as filling as was required. The caramel custard and coffee went down well too. We came across this place and checked on zomato for reviews and decided to try out.. And the decision was rite!
We tried chicken seek kabab, paratha, chapati and egg fry masala!! Paratha was so good n was dripping with ghee exactly the way I like it! Chapatis were also good but they were more like a pita bread.. Nice n soft but paratha is at I loved more..
We also tried the chicken biryani!! My god the biryani was yummm I have not had a biryani with so much of onion in a biryani it was so grt!

This place is an institution. The ambiance and crowd are old school and the food is great, so this is a must try in Colaba. Specifically, the fish fry and pomfret are fresh, simple and perfectly cooked. The mutton biryani and chicken tikka were excellent. I always grab the caramel custard to wrap it up.
They serve amazing variety of Biryani(Chicken and Mutton). One should definitely try their chicken Mutton and Brain gravy with fresh chapatis. Caramal custard is a must.

Every single bit that I took had the flavour hooked on to it!
The green chutney that they serve you here is awesome!
For the main course..we ordered Reshmi chicken curry which was the special of the day along with butter paratha..
Trust me..but the chicken in this curry was the most softest pieces I have had in a while..
The gravy was so full of flavour...with the chicken it just melts in your mouth..
The paratha was nice and soft .
For the dessert. We took custard and royal falooda..

Going to south Mumbai for the best 3 years of my life (college 😉) , this place was my fav hangout during the times when my gang was hungry..it's kheema pav served during the day was to die for..and finishing the meal with a piping hot tea..was the best thing in the world. I visited the place again today after almost 10 years..and guess what..it's still he same with the same wooden chair and tables with strangers coming and sitting in your table .also the tea and kheema pav hasn't changed at all..they still taste the same..it was quite a nostalgic moment. So guys if you ok with antique furniture with no ambience worth talking about..but want to have a generous serving of super delicious kheema pav and tea you won't find anywhere else with maska pav to die for ..this is the place. And here I rest my case.

Olympia truly shines out as a well deserving winner for me. Just at a distance it is one of the restaurant frequently visited by me. A decent looking place if you aren't too fussy about the ambience and if you have no concerns of sharing a table with a stranger then you are at a correct place. Kheema pav which is available only in the morning which sells like hot cakes is definitely worth trying. Their other varieties include mutton masala, chicken masala, biryani and so on which is utterly delectable and the taste is consistent since years. Also they have a generous serving. Do try the chicken cutlets which is served in the evening for snacks. And yes nothing like the awesome bun maska and refreshing tea. The tea served here is to die for. I have never had any qualms of visiting this place at any time of the day to satiate my hunger :)
Very old Irani restaurant with some authentic food. I have tried their chicken biryani which comes with green masala and tastes delicious. Also their speciality in Bheja fry and Kheema pav. I tried Bheja fry with kolhapuri touch which was awesome. It was served with paratha and green chutney. Prices are very low compare to other restaurants. Quick service. Must try restaurant.

The look upon entry is straight out of a black and white movie, with tainted mirror walls and old tables and chairs on both sides of the walkway.

One place that is truly the hidden gems of Mumbai is Olympia Coffee House. Located close to Gateway of India, I was not aware of this cafe until taking a stroll nearby. We visited for morning breakfast, and they have a small menu best for non-vegetarian and eggetarian lovers. We ordered their Mutton Kheema Pav with their special tea and it was one of the best breakfast of all time. They also offer a wide range of other food options that will just add to your taste buds.
Good old place, nice food, we had bheja masala which we didn’t like, chicken Biryani was good, chapati and paratha we didn’t like, chicken tandoori was good, phirni, caramel custard and falooda were good. But nimbu paani was the best I’ve ever had. They prefer cash payments so better carry cash. Menu prices are pretty reasonable, must try.
One of the best and most popular hotel in colaba. you must try mutton Curry/Masala here. Hygiene is well maintained. The staff is also good and helpful. The quality of food is fabulous. If you are non vegetarian then this is the best place for you.

Got the opportunity to visit this place after such a long time for the lunch and we have ordered mutton daal gosh and chicken tikka biryani in mains and caramel custard and phirni for the dessert.
The mutton daal gosh was very okay okay in a taste and somehow bland for me, I wanted to have kheema pao but unfortunately, it was not available.
The chicken tikka biryani was amazing in a taste with a good amount of chicken pieces.
Never miss caramel custard and phirni at this place as they are too delicious.
The good part of this place is that the food is good plus the rates are very nominal with a good amount of food.

One of the oldest and historical places near gateway of India and little behind the Taj Mahal Hotel. It is infront of the now famous Leopold cafe.
Tried various egg dishes here and learnt about the Gujarati history from the members running this place.
Would recommend egg pav.
The bun maska was amazing the tea and coffee where just superb and the chiken biryani had by my friend was reviewed by her as outstanding 😄

Had a pleasant and tasteful breakfast over here. We had Kheema-Pav and chai. Kheema pav was very good and was affordable after ordering more pav and chai was just perfect. Took off all the tiredness and we were ready for our Journey. They only accept cash around here. We didn't had cash they were generous enough to find out a way to Gpay them.

It’s a heaven place for non vegetarian as they serve one of the best mutton and chicken dishes. Though I opted for Quintessential Irani cafe chai and bun-maska and omelette. Prices are affordable and turn time is quick. Parking may be a challenge so ensure you park somewhere near by and walk only cash 💰 payment. So if you are around Colaba then this is a must visit to relinquish some good food
Authenticity and Affordability are difficult finds and this canteen serves the best of food with both of the factors. Visited here with my family loved it! Try their chicken kebab pav! Super tasty
If you like the old Bombay eateries with no frills but a lot of character, this is the place. I loved their kheema roti with half fried egg, which is over by 11 am, and their superb tea.
Perfect local cafe experience! Many locals eat here for breakfast and the staff are so nice!!
Had a lovely breakfast and tea. The food was on the spicier side but not too much for a European stomach. The bread was by far the softest and nicest one I had in a while. Would definitely recommend.
