This is one place my family and I missed so much during the lockdown!!! Sooooooooo happy that they are delivering again!
Perfect fix for thali cravings. They have the best quality food, at the absolute best price. Variety of sizing options to choose from- mini meal box, meal box, tiffin, big tiffin- to serve different appetites!! The vege dishes are delicious along with the farsan! The desserts are always always super yumm!! I am always ready for their chapattis, dal, rice.
I've never been disappointed at the restaurant itself, and their careful packaging of every item, and all the little things they send, makes me feel like I'm eating a real hot thali at home too!!
Cannot wait to get back in person to enjoy the ambience too!

If you want some authentic Indian cuisine then this is your place. Friendly staff and delicious food. With thali restaurants you always have quite a bit of spread in one single plate and that is what i love about them. Golden star thali is one of the oldies and goldies. You should definitely try it out if you are a veg food lover.
A very friendly welcoming place to spend a couple of nights. All personnel were very well trained, accommodating and helpful (all done with a smile). Everything was handled with efficiency and attention to every detail was given. Food was delicious and the view was wonderful while dining. Thanks for doing such an outstanding job to make the stay so pleasurable.

One of the best Thalis in Mumbai. Ordered the Corporate meal boxes for our team of 140 people. Every meal box was well packed and the quantity was filling for 1 person. The best things were 2 types of sweets and super farsans. Planning for ordering on Holi again....

Must try💯
Golden star thali is almost full at all times with the number of gujaratis who stay in this area. But it is easy to spot many office people and occasionally foreigners too who comr to exoerience thali style of indian food. Everything is relatively good for the price they charge!
Golden Star Thali is my family's favourite Sunday hangout zone as we usually don't cook food at home on Sundays. The taste always is the best of all of their dishes and what I like the most about this place is that the staff is really polite. If you haven't tried their thalis yet.. what are you waiting for?
I love big portions when it comes to food and Golden Star Thali has to be one of my favorite places to hog on for the obvious reasons ;) The food is really yummy and the quantity is really really good! I always come out full and satisfied from there One of the best restaurant for Gujrati & Rajsthani food 5 stars from my side. ... Never had a bad experience till date.
A thali restaurant that is welcoming and provides lip smacking Gujarati & Rajasthani thali. Located close to Charni Road railway station you can eat till your heart's content. The number of different elements on one plate is astounding. With a wide range in terms of texture and flavours is soul satisfying..😍
The Thali which is served here is too sumptuous and freshly cooked. The service is fast and excellent. It is a real gastronomic experience for a food lovers. A must visit family restaurant for all !!
Located close to Charni Road railway station, this place gives an impression of any humble restaurant. The place has no special interiors or decor, but is comfy enough for one to enjoy the absolutely mouth watering thali that it is known for.
The staff is very polite and courteous. They ensure that one has plenty to eat at any given moment of time. Service is remarkable and probably one of the best that we have ever received..😍
Now coming to the thing that truly matters, their Gujarati & Rajasthani Thali, being the only thing that is served in this restaurant, they cannot afford to have a bad day and having visited this place on a number of occasions, we can safely say that the food is not going to disappoint you.
We simply can't decide which part of the thali is our favourite. Their thali comprises of a variety of components, usually one can find papad and farsan, dhokla, small samosas and wadas, chutneys, pickles, salads, dahi wada, dal baati, roti and puri, four different kinds of sabzi, two types of kadi, two types of rice and chhaas. The variety in terms of texture and flavour on one plate is mind boggling. It is nothing short of a joy ride for your tummy. If this is not enough, they have two to three types of sweets as well..🤤
Ambience : 4/5
Food : 4.5/5
Service : 5/5
Best place to eat Gujarati food in town..nice staff quit crowded with people on weekends but serves the best!
Being a vegetarian the options to eat out are very scarce in this city. But Golden Star Thali never fails to impress me with their food and their service and it has been the go to destination for me and my family for last 1 year. The food is really good guys.. give it a try. Raju
I was browsing for a good Thali place in Mumbai and to top the list was Golden Star Thali so we gave it a try. Firstly, the staff is extremely hospitable. They let us first be comfortable in a place of our choice although the place attracts alot of crowd. The food is served in Batches, with the chutneys first, followed by the vegetables, roti/puri, daal bati churma, sweets and the chaat. The food is unlimited. And each dish is served with a smile. At regular intervals we were asked if we needed something in addition. All in all, it was a delicious experience. A sure recommendation if you're in favour of Thali's. Also, it does let you soak in the Khamma Ghani feels!
My family is quite picky when it comes to food. So when they asked me to order lunch, I immediately knew that they would surely love the Tiffin box served by Golden Star Thali. They deliver on time and with the same quantity that you would get when you eat out there. My family loved the food. Truly said, good food equals to good mood.
Every gujarati or rajastani food fan should visit here.Service is realtively quick than most other thali places i have been to.Thali has good number of options too.
This place serves authentic gujarati and marwari thali. The food over here is authentic and tasty, let me share with you what we ate here. For farsan we got dryfruit kachoris which were so tasty with raisins inside the filling, we ate dhokla which was steamed to perfection. A variety of chutneys were served to us like green chutney, sweet chutney made of dates and jaggery and garlic chutney. Variety of papad s also were being served. The famous rajasthani daal bati was served to us which are wheat dough balls and a preparation of lentils poured on top, next we ate was vada missal which were mini batata vada s topped with ragda and onions which was lovely. For the main course we had karela vegetable, rasawala aloo, shing pitla a dish made with drumsticks in a gravy made of besan. khichdi and gujarati kadi too was served to us along with some lovely masala puris and rotis to eat with the vegetables. For dessert they served basundi, jalebi and malpuas. There was buttermilk too. Everything was served with much pleasure by the staff. Total value for your money and taste buds.
Sundays are meant to relax but for me, it is to explore new food joints. I came with my sister here after checking the zomato ratings. We ordered for 2 Rajasthani Thalis here. It was too filling and delectable. We also felt we were experiencing the real Rajasthani flavours here. Totally in love with the ambience and the Thali here. What a happy discovery it has been for a foodie like me.
Its a best place to have thali. A perfect Gujrati thali. The staffis polite. Must try. Enjoyed it. The desert is icing on their thali. Must visit it.
We are very fond of Gujarati Thalis. And we came to know about Golden Star Thali restaurant from one of my colleague who stays at Charni Road. So I took my family, and in-laws here for lunch. We came to know about the Dehati Rasoi Utsav going on and we ordered for 10 Gujarati Thalis. The service was quick and the staff behaviour was so polite. Each and every food items were delicious and we just felt that we were actually experiencing regional flavour in Mumbai. All of us loved the food and the place. Definitely we are going to come again.
Weekends are the best days to indulge yourselves in some authentic Gujurati and Marwari food. Desserts are the cherry on the cake of the thali. The staff is very polite and interactive. Food is freshly prepared and hot. You can ask for rotis of your choice: without ghee or a Bajra/ Jowar rotla. Summers are the best time to go here as they serve aamras.
Our office ordered bulk meal boxes for Independence Day celebration. Via a delivery platform. Meal box is for 1 person, normal eater. The contents were all good taste and variety. The packaging was neat and decent.
Rakes Rakes
We found this restaurant at Charni Road by chance. We were hungry and though we were quite sceptical we thought of giving it a try. I and my husband love Gujarati Thalis and we ordered two for us. We quite liked the ambience and the way the staffs attended us. The Thali arrived quick and we started tasting one after another veggies they served. Each and every items were tasty and so authentic. We also loved the sweets which were soft and easily melting when having it. We just loved the food and the place and we would give it a 5 star. A must try for all definitely.
Best Gujarati Rajasthani restaurant in South Mumbai. Food is very authentic. Not at all like most other restaurants claiming to be Gujju food and serving Punjabi items. Service is quick and attentive too.
I have visited this place last week with my family. Food was very delicious. They serve unlimited Gujarati and Rajasthani Thali. Food servicing is very good,We don't need to wait for it. Food varieties and quality Everything great about this restaurant and price also very affordable. Foodie people must visit here.
I am quite fond of this restaurant. I often bring my family for lunch over here on weekends. It is near to Charni Road station and so it quite convenient for us. Mostly we order Gujarati Thali and one is more than enough for a person. The quality is very good and the sweets they serve add to the experience. A must place for people who love Gujarati cuisines.
We came here for lunch and was impressed by the ambience and staff behaviour. We were in hurry and though it was crowded we received quick service. The food quality was quite good and it was affordable as well. Really a must visit.
Whenever me and my colleague doesn't get our lunch, we order from Golden Star Thali. Thet have a special lunch box which comes with delectable items and sweets. At summer we get complimentary aamras as well. Just worth our money.
A lot of time I have checked the ratings before going to a restaurant. It has pretty good reviews and so me and my wife decided to go here for lunch. We ordered Thalis for each of us. The service was quick, the food quality was good and there were so many food items we couldn't finish off only. We both loved the aamras they served complimentary. Hygienic and good quality food - we will soon visit the Golden Star Thali.
It is a very good Rajasthani Thali experience. The food is homely, aamras was fresh and The jalebis were yummy! The staff was courteous and prompt. They need to work on having neater uniforms. Definitely worth a visit at least once.
Very homely and warm place. The restaurant has been there for many many years and consistently serving good Thali food. They serve so much variety that I’m sure you are bound to get lots of your choice. Have never seen the manager or owner interact or make any effort but The staff is very polite and they keep serving your very lovingly. Their desert options are yummy. With Aamras season you will get one serving from mon- fri and on weekends it’s unlimited. You would be lucky if there is jalebi or malpua on the day you decide to go.
Food awesome ,tasty , unlimited joy
Ambiance: nothing to talk being Sunday busy noisy crowded place
Service average, manager was very good
Watchman at entrance was very rude and he is the reason for star less
Situated opposite the Charni road station known for its Rajasthan delicacies, they serve some amazingly tastiest thalis in South Mumbai.
Though the place is not big nor the ambiance is something to rave about the energy as you enter is positive what with the staff smiling and welcoming you the aroma of food sets you in the right mood.
As you settle down in front of the big thali with lots of small katoris the procession of waiters serving different varieties of food fills up your plate.
Homely food courteous friendly staff all you can eat thali are the trade mark
I often order lunch from outside, a friend of mine who stays at Charni Road referred me this place. I ordered the Golden Star thali special lunch box for a Saturday quick lunch. The quantity that they served was brilliant. The taste of the food items were also delectable. I shared the food with my office colleagues and we all happened to love the food and the packaging. Definitely a must try for its quality, affordability and taste.
For a yummy unlimited thali, head straight to Golden Star Thali. What's make it even more special this time of the year is the aamras. I can feel the drool even as I write this, even though it's been 3 days since I relished it.
The ambience is simple and welcoming.
The staff very courteous, super attentive, prompt and interactive.
The food is too delicious, though I am not too found of their dal batti choorma :(
On that day, our thali had:
Farsan - pattice, alu vadi : 3/5 for both
Dahi Vada - 3/5
Chawli sabzi: 4/5
Alu Palak: 3.5/5
Paneer: 5/5
Rajma: 5/5
Dal: 5/5
Kadhi: 5/5
Papad/Rice papad: 5/5
Aamras: 10/5
Chaas: 4/5
Dessert - cham cham - 4/5 (They also had doodhi ka halwa which I didn't try)
The puri and aamras combo is irresistible. The phulkas soft, fresh, hot. Just the way they should ideally be.
I was so full, I didn't try the rice.
I've dined at Golden Star Thali quite a bit, and this wasn't my last visit either.
Small but decent place next to charni road station excellent quality of food with delightful aam raas traditional rajashtani and gujrati thali. I recommend do visit once.
Me and my sister love exploring food and new places. We checked the reviews of Golden Star Thali and decided to give a try. We went on a Sunday for lunch and found the ambience to be wonderful. We ordered Gujarati Thalis for us. It was quite crowded but we got quick service. Each and every food items were delicious. We especially loved the unlimited aamras served to us. Definitely a 5 star to this restaurant.
It is always amazing to go for lunch when it's Summer time at Golden Star Thali. The reason is obviously the delicious grand Thali and the aamras served as complimentary with it. Our Shah family loves the Gujarati thali and the aamras here. A must try for all mango lovers and veggies to try the delicious cuisines here.
The Golden Star Thali Restaurant is our favourite restaurant for its amazing Gujarati and Rajasthani Thalis. I and my wife keep coming here whenever we feel some craving of veg food. The taste of the food and the sweet delicacies they serve are so amazing. The quantity and the service they provide adds to the bonus. A must place to explore food for the vegetarians.
Good food good place. Decent Gujarati food. I liked the pulao and farsan a lot. Would recommend if you are going out with family.
Little crowdy on Sunday which is expected. Tables and chairs are little tightly placed. Staff is good.
Had ordered their Thali Meal through Uber Eats. This place serves one of the best thalis in the area. The items in the thali change on a seasonal basis ( like the Mango Ras during Summer etc).
Packaging & hygiene is great and the quantity is satisfactory.
Taste-4/5
it is best pkace for thali lover& its a very prime location at charni road station when u entry restaurant you will feel Rajastani ambience& water dressed well rajastani folks this place is always crowded especially in weekends.they have coupon system also for 10 Paid thalis they will give u 1 thali free.It was my best place for lunch 😊thank you .
Amazing thali. The staff here is extremely cordial. The pooran poli, biscuit Bhakree is worth a try. Fast service and cleanliness is maintained. For every thali you get a coupon. Collect 10 coupons over your visits to this restraint and redeem them for a free thali on your next visit.
I think South Mumbai is lucky to have such restaurants around. From expensive 5star to this typical traditional flavoursome restaurant managed to attract all types of crowed. This is my favourite restaurant to visit regularly.
Located exactly opposite to Churni Road East station captures the attention well. Ambiance is not that attractive, I never see the seating arranged on first floor even if they have enough space there. The thali served always on ground floor. If ambiance is not your priority then you can go ahead and make entry. M sure you won't disappoint.
This relish Thali weekend menu includes 2 types of Farsan, daal bati churm, dahi vada, 4 types of vegetables, 2 types of kadhi n dal, fulka roti, puri, bajra ki roti, chaas and mouth-watering 3 desserts. While as on weekday you can find two sweets.
Taste is just fantastic, properly cooked with balanced spices. Sometimes puris served were cold and rotis were really thik like papad but if you bring to the notice then they will replace the same. This could have been done better. No compromise on taste, service is very quick.
Best thing is they have all the details of some part of menu included on their website.
I never feel any lags in services or food quality.
A must visit.
Ambiance 7/10
Food spread 9/10
Quality 8/10
Service 9/10
Value for money 8/10
On weekends we often visit the place. It is quote near to Charni road railway station so fromany place it’s quite convenient to come here. I love the Bengali sweets and they serve three on weekends. After a sumptuous Thali, I really like to savour the malai cham cham, badam bhog and ras malai to end with. Such a lovely place and food they serve.
This place is just next to Charni Road station, it’s a nice place, the ambiance is good, the seating arrangements are nice, the place looks clean, the staff is polite. If you are looking for a complete thali meal from Rajasthani Marwadi cuisine then this place is for you. They serve unlimited food with amazing variety, also the food is not spicy. The price is around 400 for aThali. Overall a good place for a good indian meal
I ordered through Zomato and now I and my office colleague have become a fan of this restaurant. We order lunch box which is cost effective and comes with sweets, farsans, vegetables, phulkas, dal, rice, pickle, salad and mukhwas. Too filling for two of us. Just loved the food and service of the restaurant.
Had an amazing time here with my family, and am sure my tummy had an even better time! The taste was spot on. Quantity was good too. The best part tho had to be the dessert! Cheers
We had guests at our place and one of my colleague suggested about Golden Star Thali restaurant. The price was affordable and I ordered food for ten guests. I ordered Thalis for everyone. Everyone loved the food, the sweets and the number of items they served. We also received complimentary drinking water bottle. Really loved how they served on time and with the taste and quantity served.
I have been recently to this popular Charni road restaurant and I booked seat for our family through online. When we reached in the evening our table was reserved and we were received well. My wife and in-laws really loved the food and what turned out to be more amazing was the ambience and the staff behaviour. Also we got 10 % discount on Gujarati Thalis as we booked online. Really a must visit.
I came to know about this place from my office colleague. She suggested me the place for authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani Thali. We went for dinner and my husband who doesn’t like so much of restaurant food simply loved it. We both enjoyed the ambience of the place, friendly behaviour of the staffs and the homemade taste of the food items served. We are surely come again and taste the deliciousness out here.
Again- not a big fan of veg food... But this place just stole my heart! The huge spread of various various Rajasthani items here.. the typical Rajasthani feel and the very courteous staff! Full marks to each and everything here, be is food taste or service or ambience or even the price for the food! They deserve a 5-Star!
Had organised my post wedding lunch, very well organized by the staff. Food was delicious but the highlights were dahi wada, basundi, gulabjam😋😋😋 Since the place is known for its Gujarati cuisine, you may find it very sweet so much that even karela (bitter gourd) is sweet. Unlimited place so you may want to sleep after a heavy meal
I have heard a lot about this restaurant from my friends. So I came with my family here for a lunch this Sunday. The ambience was quite nice, the behaviout of the staffs were so warm. We ordered Gujarati Thali for three of us. The taste was homemade but extraordinary. There were so many varieties and delicacies served in a Thali. Also there was complimentary gulab jamun on weekends, so we had extras too. The bill was quite surprising - such an affordable rate and superb quality food being served. A must visit to this food joint for everyone.
We often drop by here for dinner with friends after work. All of us just love the homely ambience of the restaurant and the food served. The quantity is really good and every item right from the veggies to dal to sweets are sumptuous. We love this place absolutely.
Whenever I am at Charni Road, I make sure that I come with my wife here. Both of us love the ambience, the hospitality and the delicious Rajasthani and Gujarati thali. It feels like we taste the best of the places by having all the food delicacies so well cooked and served in a single thali. A 5 star to this superb food joint.
Great Thali. Quite filling since its unlimited. Good options in sweet dishes too. Service is quick and the staff is also always smiling and serving. You feel welcomed. The only thing that pinches is the price. It's slightly over priced. But considering that it's location in South Bombay, the price is fair.
Nice delivery experience, Nice food before time delivery. Food quality very good. Typical Gujrati Food Quantity little less but OK. Nicely packed,
I had been to this place for the second time. Good quality and homely food served with love. Yeti Undhiyu, sweets and Farsan were very delicious.
I visited this place with my colleagues on a weekday. We got a table immediately being a weekday as I have read this place has waiting on weekends. Experience was good, polite and friendly service. Food is traditional, authentic & delicious.. must visit for thali lovers!
If you have cravings for rajasthani and gujarati thali this is the best place to visit. Good service. Farsan and deserts are too good. Also if you stay near to girgaon it has a option for tiffin service which is abundant for four
If you are looking forward to have authentic Rajasthani / Gujrati Thali, this is the place you must visit. I went to this place with my family on Dassera (Hindu Festival) for lunch, as expected the place was pretty full. Hence if you are willing to have a meal with your extended family, would recommend you to book a table. Talking about the food 😍. We had the Rajasthani Thali comprising of the below dishes -
Side Dishes - Kachori, 3 different chutneys (Imli (Tamrind), Red Chilly🌶️, Pudina (Mint)), Dhokla, Papads (Crisps)
4 Sabzis (Vegetable Curries) - Moong Dal Curry, Capsicum Sabzi, (Cauliflower) Gobi Sabzi, Bhindi Masala.
Bhindi Masala and Capsicum Sabzi were medium spicy while the rest were a little sweet but delicious.
Dal Baati - one of most important dishes of the Rajasthani cuisine was served in the Thali was both sweet and spicy.✌️
Dal and Kadhi - The Dal was plain and simple yet delicious while the kadhi was thick and creamy and tasted authentic.
For the rice they have option of Plain Rice and Pulav - We opted for the plain rice which was served hot with a spoonful of Desi Ghee over it 😋😍
Also served were Phulkas (Mini Wheat Rotis) with ghee on them and Puris.
The Desserts ❤️ - The Thali had Rice Kheer and Rasmalai Sandwich😍😍
The Rice Kheer was chilled , thick and was perfect sweet ❤️ It tasted simply divine😍
Coolants - The Thali also has Chaas (Buttermilk) served chilled was perfect addition to end the meal 😘
Service - The staff is very quick and courteous👌🙏
Ambience - The ambience was very decent and perfect for family meals. 👌✌️
Since the food here is unlimited make sure to make the most of the food served because all the dishes are worth a try. The price is decent as they serve a variety of dishes with good quality and quantity along with great service. ✌️
Happy Eating 😊
This is the best place to go if you're craving for some authentic Rajasthani dishes. Each and every dish is impeccable. Whilst this, the quality of food is not compromised. Totally recommended.
So I was craving for thali and didnt want to spend much on it. I went to this place and was happy about the choice I made. The food quality over here is really good. Although the ambience is decent enough and the staff is very friendly and they make sure you are served well till your stomach is full and bulges. I wouks definitely recommend this place..!!
We have our office at Churchgate and we often order the lunch box from Golden Star Thali. The quantity is enough for lunch and we love the sweets served along with the box. A must have for happy, delicious and affordable meal idea.
Heaven for the people who love sweet's the ambience of the restraunt is just awsome the service was great i will recommend you to visit this place once and taste their awsome galebi ♥️♥️♥️
Best thali in the city. Before any other restaurants with authentic thalis and a taste of the country in the city, golden star is oldest and most known name in thalis.
Excellent food and service. We visited on a Sunday for lunch. Since we reached by around 12:45 pm we got place easily...if you intend to go for a later lunch, I think it’ll be better to book a table. Saw quite a few people waiting by the time we were leaving.
As for the thali... it did not disappoint at all!!! There were 4 subzis (dry bhindi, methi mutter, gatte ki subji and aloo mutter), 2 salads, 3 tiffin items (we had samosa, farali pattice, khaman dhoklas), dal bhati, boondi raita, dal, kadhi, papad, 4 varieties chutneys and pickles with chapatis, puris, steamed rice and pulav. The sweets served were malpuas, Malai sandwich and basundi.
For me the talking points were the malpuas, the basundi and the lasoon chutney.
PS: if you have a sweet tooth and love your mithais.... Sundays are the day to visit!!!!
Delicious and masaledaar food! Good place to have proper and healthy food,
Satisfies your taste buds and relieves your pockets too.

Golden Star serves good food at a great price. I decided to take mum, dad here on the way home from Colaba. The Gujarati thali comes with an assortment of dishes, couple of types of lentils, a few different types of bread (roti, bhakri, puri, etc.) along with papad, pickles, salad, samosas and two types of desert. There is no limit to how much you can eat, they portion sizes served are small but enough in quantity + variety to fill you up.
Overall a great experience, good service and great variety of food. This place is a must visit if you are around marine lines, charni road.
Golden Star Thali in Mumbai has been serving authentic unlimited Gujarati & Rajasthani Thali since 1990.
This place is right opposite to Charni Road Railway Station.
The staff was very courteous, and the food was super tasty.

The place has a calm ambiance with its minimalist interiors. Their hospitality is up to the mark and extremely satisfying. The service is pretty quick. The staff is always having an eye on your thali so that they can feed you properly.
A must visit place to eat all the delicious variety of Rajasthani and Gujrati food.

Visited this place for weekend brunch. They serve unlimited thaali with varieties of dish from Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine. The place is very clean and gives you Royal Rajasthani vibes. One can visit her with a group of friends, family and loved ones.
Their menu keeps on changing everyday and on weekends they have special dishes, right from sabzi, dal gravy to rice and sweet. Everything they serve here is authentic and tasty.
The service they provide here is remarkable. They will not let your plate be empty. Special thanks to Jamna Joshi for providing the best service and being so humble and friendly.

I recently visited this restaurant and it was true to its name. Fabulous hospitality and delicious food. The unlimited thali is priced at Rs 570 on weekday and Rs 630 on weekends. It’s by far the best rajasthani thali I’ve had.A special mention to amras and dhokla. Must visit place with great access.
