Bandra is all about sea food and there are some great places that cater to this cuisine but Soul fry has to be in top 3. They have these lunch thalis which are scrumptious and cost effective.
Weekends are when the restaurant is crowded most of the time and there is a waiting but it's worth it. Their prawns and rawas fish dishes are simply to die for.

Let me tell you why you should go here. Do not go by the ratings. Don't look for a fancy decor or expect young waiters or fancy cutlery. Their food is authentic Goan (for Bombay stds.) You will not find a place to stand on Monday because their Karaoke is unmatched. Go for the prawns and pork. Go for the old Bandra vibe, go for the experience not for a clichƩd dine. Go especially on a Monday or Thursday.

Yesterday dinner was preplanned at Soul Fry, a quaint Goan restaurant in the bylanes of Pali Hill, Bandra. My wifey had her heart set on the Crispy fried Bombils so that was ordered straight away. They were mildly spiced and deep fried to that Golden crispiness, where the Rawa batter is crunchy crispy and yet when you bite into the delicately tender flesh it just melts into your mouth. Next in quick succession arrived the Chicken Sukka. Boneless succulent pieces of chicken, tempered in ground coconut, garlic and Malwani spices... This was spicy but yummmmy šŸ˜‹šŸ‘ŒšŸ˜This was followed by Mutton Khuddi. Now this was a first for us. Boneless pieces of mutton in abundance, in a smooth and mildly spiced brown gravy. The tender pieces of mutton were cooked to that stage where it softly disappears in your mouth... and the taste of the East Indian spices comes thru every so tenderly. The chapatis, which we opted for, could have been softer. Overall a pleasant evening spent in a typical Goan place... Definitely going back for more.

Known for its authenticity, this Goan-run restaurant serves my favorite prawns curry in the city. Soul fry is the kind of place where you'd want to visit regularly, not just for the food, but also for their service

Avoid Chicken if you're a fish eater and just stick to their specialties (sea-food). Located in Pali Hill, Soul fry is an ideal place for a casual date or even family get-together.

Had been to Soul fry with two other friends and enjoyed the interesting Goan delicacies! It's a simply done-up restaurant, no frills seating arrangement, plainly dressed waiters and no special ambience to speak of

But don't get put-off by lack of pomp and show; the food is really finger licking delicious! We started off with our drinks: Mojito, Margarita and lemon juice - all perfectly satisfactory. Our friend who had been to this place several times knew exactly what to order and we tried the superbly tantalising Prawn green chilly garlic and chicken Moelho. The chicken was so tender and the prawns in the green garlic paste wereĀ
Too good! Followed by main course of Prawn Peri Peri (in a red sweet n spicy curry) and prawn curry with rice. Food portions were adequate and service was also quite prompt. They also have home delivery and we later ordered these same dishes home, and they all turned out perfectly delicious!

Only regret was that though Sol Kadi was on their menu, that evening they said they didn't have it.

But all in all we had a wonderful dinner and the nondescript place really charmed us!

Visited soul fry on Sunday night and it was buzzing! We had the mutton sukha, prawns masala, pork sambaray, surmai rechedo fry, fried crispy bombil and the yetti fry...all dishes were perfectly prepared and succulent with flavour bursting out of every bite. To wash this all down we had yummy plum sangria's topped with fresh fruit! The staff is very attentive and prompt with their service even though the place was packed. Great place for informal lunch and dinner.

What can i say about this place, a lot actually!!

Food:

Crispy fried calamari
- standard stuff

Kolambi bhat
- okay but less prawns

Sungta Maria
- best thing here

Crispy fried prawns
- standard stuff

Mutton chops
- get this

Bombil
- standard and small

Squid recheado
- this is the good stuff, get this

Music:

Oh my God, this place has karaoke nights twice a week and on Sunday afternoon they have this guy who sings and makes people dance and sing along! You have been warned!!

Decor: going hard for the Goa look
Packaging: standard
Service: slow
Pricing: expensive, booze prices here are competing with a five star hotel and happy hours only 7.30-8.30 pm on weekdays, food is on the expensive side as well, considering price competitive restaurants nearby

Been here many a time so it definitely deserves a review.

Located near the Pali Fish Market it's the best place to try out some Goan cuisine.

Just dropped in without a reservation but they were kind enough to help us and make a table available inside. Since it was Sunday there was a few bands playing.

We started off with a couple of drinks.... Beer as it was hot outside and complimented it with some snacks.

Ordered a Crab Omelette and Crumb Fried Squid to compliment the Beers and had no complaints whatsoever with both dishes.Ā

For the Mains we had aĀ

Goa Sausage Chilli Fry> 4/5
Ā Prawns Green Chilli Garlic> 5/5

Had a lovely afternoon and took us all the way to Goa :)
Thank you for helping us out & hope to see you'll soon.Ā

I'd heard about this place and was wanting to visit since the longest time. What better occasion than a lazy Sunday morning!! So I went all the way from Thane where I stay to experience this place.. I entered the restaurant and was earlier asked to sit in the open area since I was all by myself. But Mr. Meldin was very courteous to allow me have a seat inside. Lucky me, Walter was playing live and I just immersed myself into the relaxed vibe of the place as it transported me to Goa in no time. I called for a Simba Stout alongwith Sungta Maria(A must try), Bombil fry and Calamari in green chilli and garlic. The delectable prawn on crispy golden toast just melts in your mouth. The Calamari preparation too had a great taste and the portions were generous. The food was on the money and I just couldn't get enough of the ambience and the coterie as some of them requested me to dance and sing along with them. Johnny, Meldin and Walter also made sure that they played my request of 'Love will keep us alive' by Eagles and that made my day. All in all, a wonderful experience and a Sunday afternoon well spent in the company of beautiful people. Absolutely recommended if you're looking out for a chilled out homely vibe with some live music in the company of a merry crowd. And boy, you'd just be that extra lucky if Walter's performing...
Cheers guys!! I am definitely visiting again with my gang. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø #Goodvibesonly

Our constant adda when we want some delicious Bombil fry, reasonably priced gin and a Goa like vibe. The hygiene of this place is questionable though - a flying cockroach fell on me once! But, I continue to go there and enjoy the dim fairy lights, the warm service (mostly) and the delish Goan flavours.

Guys you will love this place if you are a Karaoke lover. There is Karaoke Night on every Monday.
Sungta Maria, Prawns Rechad and Chicken Green Chilly Garlic.
One and only Goan food specialist Restaurant in Bandra.

But Sad thing is the Master Chef Rawaji is no more. Food cooked by him was fantastic.

Visited this place for the first time. Their masalas are excellent, fish was superb, they have to wonton their sol kodi. I am a Goan and a restaurateur too . Tisreo were mind blowing, but your staff I feel are on a cheating spree ... your visvon curry rice is costing 480/. Or abouts , but they charged me 480/. Plus for the rice and the curry, which was I feel a cheat . I am giving you 4 stars for ur quality and quantity, no star for your honesty...

One of our all-time favorites for some amazing seafood and ambience.

Soul Fry is the place to visit if you're craving some Goan cuisine. The konkani masala played in the background sets the mood just right.

Here's what we recommend:
Chapta fried chicken - boneless pieces of fried chicken, which are cooked to perfection.. crisp from the outside and soft from the inside.

Chicken xacuti - a coconut based chicken gravy (brown, medium spicy), which goes really well with steamed rice or garlic Pao

Chicken green chili garlic - this one's a starter that's medium spicy and tastes really good but can be too oily

Overall, we definitely recommend visiting this place for a complete susegad experience šŸ˜Š

One of my favourite place for Goan seafood and might not get bored of it either. I keep ordering and also visit this place often. Must must try is the prawns in chilli garlic sauce as an appetiser. In mains, had the coondapur koli thalna, it is chicken curry in coondapur style which tasted Yumm with roti and pav both. Can be eaten with rice too. In sweets, they only had bibinca. I feel they should definitely add some sweets to their menu to make it a perfect meal. Quick and great service. Will keep visiting.

Soul fry is a quaint little place that gives major goa feels and reminded me strikingly of a laid back goan diner. We spent a nice sunday evening sipping port wine and enjoying the delicious food.
What we had-
1. Prawn rechaedo
2. Butter garlic crab
3. Tisrya dabdabit
4. Fish curry rice
Being a goan, i am quite particular and critical about sea food served in restaurants . I could find no fault with any of the dishes though. The fish, prawns, crab and clams were all fresh and the preparations were delicious. We washed it down with some refreshing and tasty solkadhi.
There was just one issue when we were there-mosquitos. But other than that, a good experience
Would love to visit again.

The warm & inviting vibe of this place makes you feel like you're no longer in Mumbai but at some wonderfully chic Goan diner near Baga. This place is famous for it's Monday Night Karaoke sessions & is famous among it's regulars. The goan dal is what you want to order here with the pao. I tried the bombil fry which was excellent. The batter was done perfectly & it had just the right amount of crunch. The prawn curry was disappointing to me because I was expecting the flavour profile to be a bit more (kokum heavy). The texture of the curry was just right but after adding some lime & salt to it, it felt a little bit closer to how I usually like it. The manager was friendly & a squabbling couple's grouse with him was handled wonderfully by him. They were upset about not getting a very specific table & I heard him gently tell him "I want you to stay & enjoy your food sir". There was a certain earnest quality to the manager. Maybe that's why people keep coming back to this place. Does it serve the best goan food in town? I'm not sure. I do love O Pedros very much.. but this place has just the right personality for a lazy Sunday dinner with a small group of friends who like food from Goa. Go here if you're ever in Bandra West. I need to try more items off their menu.

Worth a visit, and if I visit again, I would try a few other items before giving a final verdict.

Seriously great seafood at down to earth prices. Go on a Sunday and you will find most customers know each other. Seems to be a local favourite and the food doesn't disappoint. Prawns, clams, bombil, rawas, squid - all pretty good without seriously making a hole in your wallet!

Space is limited and service can be demanding but food is usually good. Parking is a bit of a problem - we always end up parking very far away and walking to the restaurant.

Thanks to #MeldanDaCunha and our group, I discovered this place; my wifeĀ and I went there for lunch over the weekend.

Soul Fry, located in Pali Market is famous for Goan and coastal dishes. The delectable Coastal cuisine is what makes this place a must-visit. I decided to try this place out - especially since there are very few places in Mumbai where you can relish on these dishes.Ā

Brilliant food at #SoulFry. The #MalvaniChickenFry to be had with pav bread is to die for. So is their wine cocktail - #TintoDeVerano. Their prawn Gassi is definitely better than what you get at Mahesh Lunch Home.

The service here was brilliant too. The staff ensured really knew what they were serving us and knew all that went into the food.

The ambience will give you a Goan vibe with Mario Miranda's sketches hanging all over and a small bar.

If you don't care for the razmatazz of the restaurant ans just need good soul satisfying Goan food in the heart of Mumbai , this would be the place. While I am no expert on Goan cuisine , I have tasted at a few places and this place surely reminds me of the small authentic Goan village restaurants. Was glad that I read about them opening in Goa and learnt about they having started in Bandra ( yes it's the other way around here šŸ˜€) ... The Calamari Green Chilly Garlic was good in starters but the Prawns Richada was awesome. We also had a paneer green chily garlic and we're not disappointed by the quality of the paneer ( yes, yes ...some of us are vegetarian šŸ˜€) The Prawns Balchao and the Goan Sausage Chilly Fry for main course was amazing too. While we didn't have the Mutton or Chicken Xacuti, my wife liked the mixed veg Xacuti so I presume you won't go wrong with the non veg version as well. The cocktails were also nice but a bit heavy on the ice than necessary I felt. The only thing stopping me from giving it a perfect 5 star was the portion or quantity of each serving. But definitely would visit here once again ! Oh and as usual for Bandra, don't think of finding parking anywhere close so better leave for gas guzzlers at home !

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Soul Fry in the heart of Pali Hill, Bandra West, and it was nothing short of a magical experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to the picturesque beaches of Goa. The vibe was not just phenomenal; it was utterly immaculate, creating an ambiance that felt like a Goan paradise right in the heart of Mumbai. The Goan cuisine at Soul Fry was an absolute revelation. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, leaving me in awe of the flavors and authenticity. The delectable dishes were droll-worthy, and I couldn't get enough of the exquisite taste that danced on my taste buds. But the real highlight of the night was the karaoke. It added an extra layer of entertainment and fun to the whole dining experience. The host was exceptional, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and enjoyment that made everyone feel like part of a big, happy family. Soul Fry at Pali Hill, Bandra West, is not just a restaurant; it's a magical journey to Goa, filled with amazing food, incredible vibes, and unforgettable memories. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm already planning my next visit. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food and a fantastic atmosphere.
