Love everything here! Especially the Bandga fry and prawns thali.
Excellent & very very tasty food & good hospitality
Always my n my families first preference for food.
Amazing range of sea food and also not only amazing sea food but also the chicken and mutton was amazing 💯. Worth going to again ❤️
Juicy fried prawns and delicious bombil fry for the perfect evening. Tried for the first time and it was a good experience overall. The fish was seasoned perfectly.
If you work near dadar or visiting dadar please do take a stop here. But you will have to follow the saying SABAR KA FAL MITHA because this statement definitely have a meaning there is a line outside you have to wait meanwhile you get more hungry because all the smell of sea food makes to more hungry.
Once you get in the service is really fast plus the food is same as you want everytime you go. Fresh seafood and happy atmosphere there waiters will give their best to get what you want.
One of the oldest sea food restaurant in bandra East. Very popular amongst the ones who love sea food. In my childhood I always used to see people's coming here and sometime wait to get the seat as it is always packed. No wondor, its because of the food they serve. It's a tiny restaurant but seating is quite comfortable.
Though I am not a big fan of all sea food but i love pomphret fry🐠, indian mackerel tawa fry 🐟 prawns fry. Spices used are so good and perfectly marinated. Fish fried to perfection.
They also serve chicken and mutton dishes and that also are good. But my personal recommendation would be sea food. So if you are craving for delicious sea food than this place is best option for you. You will definitely visit this place again.
Sea food: 5/5

A tiny restaurant serve one of the best Konkan cuisine.
Lip smacking seafood Thalis (especially Crab & Prawns)♥️♥️♥️ serve with thick gravy, 2 chapati, rice and 1 bowl of solkadhi.
Prawns Fry took my heart away.♥️♥️♥️
Pocket friendly, simple & authentic food. Must try !!!
Tag someone who loves Seafood (Konkan food).
If you want to eat good seafood and don't want to spend a ton, highway gomantak is the place. Also you would want to carry cash as they still don't accept card. Praws fry is really good, the portion sizes are good too. I am not a big fan of thali, though my husband loves it.
This is not a place for vegetarians.
Ambience is very basic.
Service is quick, however, basic.
Highway Gomantak is arguably one of the best seafood restaurants in Mumbai.
>FOOD
We ordered
-Surmai Thali (surmai masala, 2 chapatis, sol kadhi and rice)
-Surmai Fry
The food was phenomenal!!
The surmai was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spices. Sol kadhi was amazing as well.
>SERVICE and AMBIENCE
The service was super prompt.
Highway Gomantak, being a typical Malvani restaurant did not have flashy interiors or exquisite flower vases. The interior was pretty ordinary which helped in amplifying the Malvani vibe.
Just one word for this place : MIND-BLOWING!
Located in kherwadi, Bandra East this place is little difficult to locate as it is inside a lane at the corner of highway, though they have a signboard to locate the same. Coming to ambiance it's simple and down to earth. Nothing fancy and it is quite possible that you might have to share your seat with fellow foodies but who cares when the food they offer is the best malwani sea food served in Mumbai! They are unarguably the best in their business. We ordered pomfret thali, rawas thali and prawns fry. Both the thali's were amazing. Mild in taste with perfect blend of spices, quantity enough for one person hence you'll hardly see anyone wasting their food here, light on pocket and food worth every penny! Prawns fry is one of their signature dishes and it was simply best. Also their sol kadi is the best I have ever had!
Head here for a hearty meal apt enough to label as ' Ghar ka khana!' 😊
PS: they take only cash no cards so keep considerable amount handy
All the sea food lovers this place is for you.
They serve some amazing Malwani dishes.
My favourite place for Malwani food.
Their one bite will take you to Malwan land.
A must visit place for Malwani food. 🤤
Good value for money. The fish curry was quite bland. The fried fish was good though.
Were going there many times but thought of writing about the place this time.located on the service lane next to WEH bandra east, pure fresh food specially the thalis sea food at it's best. Must try.
Simple yet authentic and elegant. The food flavours aren't overbearing and seem like they are in perfect balance. Somehow the decor and the vibe of the place are also in sync with the food flavours! Must go!
I went here with my friend who is a regular customer. So I ordered crab thali for the first time in my life , my friend advised on it that if u don't have any experience it will be difficult to eat as it came with hard shell. But somehow I managed to eat without getting cuts in my mouth , and it was incredible . the masala was really delicious . My friend ordered prawns thali and it was upto the mark for a regular prawns eater. So the Thali basically includes 1 bhakri , 1rice bowl , 1 solkadhi bowl ,1 bhaji , onion and lemon. I tried Custurd , but it was just Ok. The place is very family friendly . seafood is little on the expensive side , so bring the money accordingly as THEY DO NOT ACCEPT money through digital mediums. ONLY CASH. The service was Ok. Overall experience was GOOD.
Sea food.. best place in Bandra.. typical Goan recipes.. ideal for sea food.. non AC but windy.. u have to pay in cash.. ample car parking out side.. tawa fry fish and sea food thalis are the best .. mutton quality is very good.. fish lovers should not miss this.. Service is ok.. tv only for cashier.. so be with friends with whom u can talk..
It is one of the favorite restaurant for my family. I visit this place from my school days. For me Prawns masala thali is to die for along with fried fish Bombil & Halawa.
There were pomfret, crab, clams, sharkfish thalis which are equally cherish your taste buds.
On weekends it get crowdy so better to reach early. Service is good & quick. Waiters get order carefully from you answer all queries about preparations.
Ambience is fine, sometimes in summer it get hot inside although fans are in place.

It is a place to visit for seafood lovers.
Went with a bunch or friends who like me love seafood....the food was really good esp bombil and surmai fry.....the prawn curry was okayish but overall some good food
This place was unbelievably great! Good sea food and that too affordable with great quantity! We had prawns & stuffed promfret and it was really delicious. Fish was fresh and the stuffing was great too.

This is a pocket friendly, no nonsense (read: don't look at the ambience) haven for sea food lovers. I have very rarely seen such low prices for sea food. Also, when one orders sea food, you are now conditioned to a portion size of the serving. For eg. in other restaurants, a prawns starter consists of 6-8 pieces. Here the plate was full of it!It was a rare sight!
Even the Bombay Duck fry.... we ordered food assuming normal quantities and got more than we had expected. That's usually a good thing, in this case it certainly was! And the best part was that everything was well made. So we didn't mind it at all!
Had surmai curry thali, bombil fry and Sol kadi. Food was very good and homely. The service was also good. A recommend place for foodies. A must go place. Value for money
A recommended place for sea food lovers at a pocket friendly price.we had fish thali, prawns fry and pompfret fry. Happy with the quality and the service. Didn’t expect much of an ambience given the price range. Overall a good experience.
Cosy restaurant,
quality of food is good ,
Quantity is also good as compare to rates ,
Only thing is that in thali you don't get all fried fish you have to order special thail for fried fish or alacarte.
About service sometimes you get your food quickly sometimes it will take time.
Best place to Hogg for the seafood lovers, authentic Maharashtrian seafood restaurant always crowded & n a bit of waiting time too.. fresh pomfret, Bombay duck, & prawns well cooked 😋 ... the restaurant doesn’t accept cards payment in this digital world accepts only cash .. so carry cash
This is my childhood favorite restaurant when I used to play in a playground opposite the restaurant. visited the restaurant after 6years the taste and the restaurant culture is same and fried bombil and tawa fried Surmai was yummy 😋 must visit restaurant for sea food lovers in Mumbai....
A place which i have been frequenting for years when ever i have a curry craving. This simple outlet which deals with only cash in this digital era is a old world marvel. Delicious masalas and curries to go along with bhakri and rice. Try the Sol kadi. Its a compulsive non veg fishy joint for sea food lovers. Must visit experience. All depends upon the season catch but be assured of good fresh sea food. My reco is a prawns sukka thali with a fry of your choice with a glass of sol kadi. Try the wadi instead of roti
This place is a slice of Konkan, the food definitely homely, the waiters who have aged with the place friendly if you converse in Marathi . I enjoyed the fresh bombil fry, fish curry with chapati , washing it down with soul kadi :). A friendly neighborhood restaurant.
Some people call this place "mini-goa" , some people call it "Mumbai Cha Malwan" the reason being the staple food of goans and malwani people is Fish and this place specializes in Sea food . Pomfret , Bombil , Prawns , Halwa , Tisrya , Bangda , Raavas , Surmai are the variety of fish that they serve , be it in a form of curry or fried . Generally this place operates by the thali system where in they serve chapati , sol kadi , rice , the type of fish you order along with the curry , chutni , onion and lemon in a thali . Other dishes apart from fish that one can get is crab masala , chicken thali , etc. Finishing your meal with their special kharvas is the best thing one can experience . The place is a bit pricey but worth every penny , I have been here many times and Everytime I come out I feel satisfied by the quality of food and happy for the choice I made ❤️
Highway Gomantak is one of my favourite places in Mumbai & I highly recommend people to go give this place a visit ❤️🍻.
A heavenly place for the people who loves sea food !
Rawa fried prawns and rawa fries rawas are in my fav list !
Started having sea food from this place and from then i am in love with sea food !
I don't know about authentic but where's definitely a taste of homemade spices to the food here. I ordered for the surmai thali and boy was i happy. The fish was packed with flavour and the solkadi was a perfect combination as it provided as refreshing cooler to the spicy masala in the curry so much so that me and a friend managed to finish atleast two glasses each of the solkadi.
Undoubtedly the best place for mumbai seafood. But intriguing they insist only on cash. No card machine also when ATMs are not nearby so carry cash.
Gomantak is one of those rare gems which offers authentic goan food. For starters we had ordered prawns fry.Prawns were very crispy and juicy. For main course we ordered chicken thali, pomfret masala thali, prawns thali,Surmayee Masala Thali, Halwa thikale thali,Pomfret fry, bombil fry(bombay duck), Stuffed pomfret fry. All these dishes were very mouth-watering especially halwa tikhale, prawns fry and stuffed pomfret fry.For Dessert,We had ordered caramel custard & kharvas.Desserts were too yummy and perfectly balanced.
Fish lovers know exactly ver u can find a fresh catch at reasonable prices...n yes Gomantak it is!!!

Now whatever I say about this place is less.I was highly recommended this restaurant for my love for fish and sea food and it did not disappoint me at all. It will not be an exaggeration if I say I also happended to slip into food coma ☺️. This has a very humble setting and no where does it compete with its fancy contemporaries but this is fish lovers heaven. The ambiance is clean, clutterfree, hygienic and humble. We had Prawn and Pomfret Thali and also ordered for Bombil Rava Fry by the side and trust me when I say they were finger licking good. A Must Visit!
A cosy restaurant located in a corner..Serves very simple and yet super delicious seafood. If you're all about the food and don't care about the ambience then this is the place you'll love. Tried fried surmai, fish curry, prawn masala (yummm) and their famous sweet dish... everything was really tasty and a must try. Do give this humble place a visit.
But remember, they are very punctual with closing time.
One of my Fav places ! Quite authentic & I am in love with their simplicity. My fav here is absolutely everything. But Gaboli Koshimbir tops the list. Unlike others they have many options to choose from. Most importantly I never felt bloated after having food here.
Only order all the fried fish dishes they have without any rice or roti. You will love it thoroughly. Very crowded on weekends. Don’t miss the tasty sol curry.
Was in Mumbai after 3 years and was craving some sea food. The obvious choice was Gomantak and this one was still open.
Reached there 5 mins before 4 PM and they still happily welcomed us even though they close at 4 PM. The servers were very helping. We ordered prawns fry and bombil fry to start with. The prawns were good but the bombil fry was the show stealer. The fish very fresh and tender perfectly crispy.
Then we ordered mutton wade prawns masala and tisrya masala. Everything was really good.. The taste perfect, served perfectly hot with nice warm chapatis.

Gomantak has a very traditional feel. If you are looking for authentic and homely. This is the place to be. Not to mention light on the pocket. Heavy on the stomach. Lite Ambience. Accessable location. What more does one want.
If you are a seafood lover and like maharashtrian cuisine, then this is the place to come. Good food and good price. Food Tip- Ask the waiter and he will suggest the best available option.
The restaurant ambience is good I would say, but the most important aspect of going to any restaurant is the food taste and for that I would rate the place excellent. The bombil fry, prawn fry and the crab masala is a must eat there. Would love to visit and eat at this place again.
Had been here for lunch with my family. Good food.
Small restaurant. So, Ambience is ok and can get little crowdy and messy during weekends.
Not too expensive.
Service was quick.
Well this restaurant what to say
Special for seafood and that too in your budget
You will love rice bhakri and kombdi vade
Had
Prawns fry
Kalva masla
Mandeli fry
Promfret fry
Bangda thali
Surmai thali
Tisrya thali
Everyone will want to eat again and again

Only disappoint thing is they dont accept card payment.
Over all this place is value for money
If you love seafood visit here.
Try their Bombayduck /bombil fry , prawn fry, surmai fry . Their prawn-kolambi pulav is loaded with prawns. Instead of roti have bhakri or wade.
Ambiance - non ac typical ghargunti style
Service- fast and prompt
Price is cheaper than any other seafood maharastrian popular restaurant.
Tip- reach early if you don’t wanna wait the hungry line !

Highway Gomantak, is one of those legandary spots in Bandra East, where you go to eat a frill less, wholesome meal. This is a seafood lover's paradise, so if you dont like to eat creatures that swim or crawl in the ocean, doesnt make much sense venturing here! (ofcourse they do have some token chicken and veg stuff!)
The eatery is rather small and extremely popular and inevitably, you will have to share table space with other patrons, which is anyway part of the fun.
The two of us, went for a late lunch this past weekend. We ordered a surmai and a prawn thali and a separate order of seer fish fry and bombil fry.
The thalis are pretty standard. 2 rotis, bowl of rice, solkadi, onions, lemon slice and a blob of green chutney and your dish of order. Of the two thalis, the prawn and surmai, were good and tasty (very homely) if not spectacular.
The two fry items were a bit same note, but I prefered the seer over the bombil, the fishes were really fresh. What I liked was the dishes were not spicy at all and you could taste the fish!
We ended the meal with a caramel custard, which was so-so.
Service is pretty much business like, considering the turnaround. The owner manning the cash booth was a bit of a sour puss!
The prices seemingly are a wee bit high, atleast from what I had imagined, but then you are assured of clean and fresh fare. Remember this is a cash only establishment, so come prepared

Excellent sea food. We had ordered Surmai Thalis n Prawns Sukhe thalis, both dishes were too good. Besides the thalis we had called for Bombil fry n Surmai fry. These two dishes were superb. It’s a must visit place if you work near or at BKC
Loved the fish curry... Extremely delicious! Enjoyed Sol kadi, one of the best I have ever tasted. Fried surmai was nice, fried Bombil - please avoid, it was not crispy. Fried prawns and shell fish masala was extremely tasty. Ambience is basic. Service is average. Worth going for food.
All you get here is fresh and delicious sea food. You will get different curry according to Fish. Every curry tastes unique. Stuffed Pomfret or bangda is a must try.
We were here on a Monday afternoon and there was no waiting. The place was busy, well maintained, and hygienic. It offers traditional authentic Konkani/Goan style of food.
We had ordered Bombil Fry, Pomfret Fry, Surmai Curry, Pomfret Thali, Caramel Custard, Solkadhi for the table.
The food had fine balanced taste all across the menu. It was neither too spicy, nor sweet nor too sour.
It was healthy, easy on the stomach and full of great taste.
Amongst the balance of everything, the place felt a little overpriced compared to the quantity that was being offered in the curries! So, keep in my mind for a full course meal it might make a dent in your pocket (~INR1000 per person)
Overall it’s an unmatched experience and a must visit!
Had the bombil rava Fry, and surmai thali. Bloody gobsmacking stuff. The rava prawn fry was heavenly. Special mention to the mutton gravy( idk what it was called) whos meat was so tender and soft, didn't need anything more. Had to end the meal with kharwas which was very fluffy. Just perfect.
The food is good and priced decent, you can't go worng with a fish thali and the crab masala is also a must try, the prawns fry is a good complimentary side dish to go with your rest of the order.
The bangda curry was just amazing!! The mutton thali was also good. The prawns fry was okayish, didn’t find it fresh. But would definitely go back for the curry😻
Restaurant to be visited if you have food on your priority...
Ambience is decent but not what you expect in posh restaurants,
Brisk and efficient service.
Do interact with waiters to know about your order contents and choices available. The menu and delicacies may change as per the fresh catch available for the day.
No prior reservation accepted and there is decent amount of crowd always in waiting
On Saturday and Friday the waiting can be more
However the sea food is the highlight, prepared Goan style expect coconut based tangy spicy curries and mouth watering sea food.
Food is awesome just little less quantity as the price is little high... also the fish served was fresh 😋
Mori Masala was amazing
Must try for fish lovers
I loved our meal here, Delicious yet reasonable. The surmai curry was just amazing.
Would recommend to try it
Hidden behind green trees in a side lane on the western expressway, in a mahda Colony, is a small and authentic food joint. Highway Gomantak. Itwould be more than my 25th visit to highway Gomantak. It speaks a lot for a food joint. The food here is truly authentic 🐟.
If you are a sea food 🐠 lover. This is the place. It's authentic Goan food. Try anything that's on menu
Prawns, fish, be it with curry. Dry or i' whatebr form. The quality is just too good.
Fresh food served in a good quantity. Some might find the price a bit higher but you pay for quality. Yes they can be very crowded if you are visiting at a peak hour. So plan well. They were cash only but now accept digital payment as well . 🐠🐟🐋 Enjoy your food.
Simple but delicious food with no frills! Not sure why the negative reviews for this place but then I went at 7pm on a Monday evening when everything was cooked fresh. Ordered the surmai thali which came with the surmai curry with one piece of fish in, sol kadi, onion, lime, chutney and had the option of chapati, vade or bhakri and I opted for the bhakri. Also ordered the dried prawns kismoor and the bombil fry all of which were super fresh and super yumm. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Bombay in search of local kohli/konkan food.
Nice old authentic Goan restaurant in Mumbai. Quite famous for its fish dishes although to be honest, I actually loved the mutton curries at the place far more.
The prices are quite reasonable alongside the portion sizes. It is not a fancy place but it has a definite old Mumbai charm about it. Service was efficient and the atmosphere was quite pleasant.
