A very good place for South indian food. I really liked the sambhar. The north indian dishes have decent taste but not that great. Overall good

I don't know if I can judge on the basis of one dish I ate. But if I were to, then for me it was 50-50 kind of experience. They offered two sitting AC and Non AC. First of all AC one was very quiet and peaceful to have your food, but then suddenly it got crowded and some people were acting like it's their house, talking and chatting so loudly that one would be irritated within a minute. Now on food, I ordered idli wada and dosa. I only like wada and sambar, idli, chutney and dosa were not that good. I also had watermelon juice, it was like every other watermelon juice. Service was quick, and food was served hot and fresh. Prices are reasonable too.

Enough and tasty food, neat seating. Well mannered staff. Only issue when I visited was, no water in hand wash tap. Hope it is not a regular issue.

One of the best place in Colaba to have South Indian food. They serve all kind of veg dishes. One of the old restaurant in Colaba. Speciality in variety of Dosas, Idli vada, Upma etc. North Indian food is also available. They also provide home delivery other than Swiggy and Zomato. Must visit place. Food is tasty, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained. Separate AC section is also available. Staff is polite. Pure vegetarian restaurant. Pocket friendly. Per person food costs around 100-150 Rs. However idli is not available all the time.

For authentic South Indian taste, this is the place to be. The filter coffee is slightly more expensive compared to Mani's but the taste is equally satisfying.

I came across this restaurant by happenstance and i must say they serve excellent food!
A South Indian living in Chennai, i haven't had such a good vada in a long time. It was soft, tasty and super hot.
The Idli + Sambar combo was also very good.
Masala chai was the perfect end to my breakfast.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was our favorite place to eat in Mumbai! The ratio quality/ price is very good.
We went to other places more expensive and the food was not so tasteful.
I wish we could find madras cafe sooner and try different options from the menu.
Here we could also drink natural juices and nice filtered coffee.
I can only recommend this place!

The cafe is very atmospheric, many local guests, prices are low. The food is prepared for a large number of people, so it is always fresh and of high quality. The taste of real Indian cuisine. Don’t look at the interior. Main courses after 19:00

It's the best South Indian food in Colaba. Fab service. Neat, clean, tidy and very professionally run. Their home delivery of food is just the bestest.

A Madras Cafe that lives up to its name!
Dropped by for lunch one afternoon. This place is a real hidden gem. Probably the only South Indian joint on Colaba Causeway.
The Madras moniker is used to represent a pan-South Indian cuisine. Dishes served are mostly Bangalore based.
We tried the Ghee Podi Idli, Mysore Masala Dosa and the Veg cutlet. Flavour wise, absolutely top notch, very reminiscent of Ramashraya in Matunga. The highlight of the meal, though was the Filter coffee which was brewed to perfection in true Tamil Style. Reminded me of the Kumbakonam degree filter coffee, of which, I’m a regular consumer.
Service is fast and waiting staff are very polite and courteous, especially the one who served us. Overall, it was great eating experience!
Highly recommended! Would definitely return if ever in the town area just for the Filter coffee!
