Finally a good South Indian place which is just not just another fast food place. Lovely ambience, fabulous service and more importantly the food is why I have given u a 5*****. Tried the thali, have to run back for the seafood, can't wait!

South High Kitchen and Bar, located in one of the most popular areas of Mumbai i.e. Kamla Mills, Oasis City. The Kamla mills is home to some of the most popular restaurant which are known for its drinks and Nightlife. It missed on a Family style dining restaurant and South High Kitchen and Bar is one such restaurant which fits perfectly in that category.
They are the first one's to serve South Indian food in kamla mills. The interiors are inspired from south indian traditions such as Kathakali Face painted on one of the walls. Another wall has beautifully arranged spatulas of different sizes.
We tried a few dishes here..
�Kozhukattai Bombs
These are Rice Balls with Cheese as its stuffing, it is then tempered with Coconut Podi, Curry Leaves in clarified butter. It was served with some coconut chutney and it was amazing. ORDER IT!

�Quick Gun Murugan Idli
Bite sized idli pieces tempered in clarified butter with a lot of Gunpowder in it. Also called as Malgapodi which has the spiciness of red chillies combined with the aroma and rich taste of roasted dals and asafoetida.

�Valai Vada
Raw Banana Vadas, it is similar to Mumbai Vada but the main ingredient had been replaced with raw banana, which gave it a completely new dimension with a bit of sour taste to it. ORDER IT!

Dosa served taco style, the stuffing here had the Potato Mash which is usually found in Masala Dosa, lot of Cheese and it was topped with crushed Rice Papad to give a nice crunchy texture to the Taco. ORDER IT!

�Anabe Suka and Neer Dosa
Anabe is Mushroom, so this is Mushroom with a dry gravy of coconut and other spices, goes perfectly with the Neer Dosa which is a very soft rice pancake. This was my other favorite main course. ORDER IT!

Nicely cooked rice with dominant flavor of lemon and prepared with some tempering of turmeric, mustard seeds and peanuts. It was exactly like homemade lemon rice. Authentic!

Rice preparation with some yogurt and mixed vegetables along with lot of fried onions. It cooked under pressure so that the flavor of spices remains trapped inside the biryani. This one is my favorite main course here. ORDER IT!

What an amazing place.while searching for palce to sit in a hot sunny day in kamla mills i came across South high. Good place to visit with family and friends yummy food and wide variety of drinks in happy hours.I had tried masala papad, applam papad, Rajni dosa and kingfisher picher, Just waiting for my next visit soon.

Food is on the expensive side but it won't make you unhappy as food is really very tasty and authentic.
Love this place. Exotic tasty food which was helped by our waiter for the day Mr Dinesh Singh. One of the smartest waiter that I’ve come across. He quickly picked up our likes and dislikes and helped us order food that we would love and our afternoon lunch was made memorable. I had not really heard of this restaurant before but I came across it on Swiggy. The food menu of this place looks very interesting although the prices were high. I ordered a few items which came in nice box packaging with sambhar, and chutneys in plastic containers.
Chicken Molaga Idli: It was idli cut into pieces and cooked along with chicken pieces. The chicken was well cooked and tender. It had a very good flavor which enhanced the overall flavor of the dish a lot. Overall the taste of the dish was good. 4/5 on taste.
Narukkina Dosa Chicken: The dosa was filled with chicken keema and papad. The chicken was oily and well cooked with a lot of punchy flavors. If you love spicy keema dishes than you will love it. 4/5 on taste.
Ragi Kari Dosa Chicken: It had a ragi uttapam at the base along with chicken cooked along with onions on the top. The flavors were typical south Indian chicken. The taste was very good. 4/5 on taste.
We had made 2 orders on different days. The sambhar was very good in taste on both days with the green and red chutney flavors were different. Both the chutneys tasted ordinary on 1st day but tasted much better on 2nd day. Not among the best chutneys, I have had but still, they added nice flavors to the dishes.
Takamaka Paniyaram Chicken: It was paniyaram filled with chicken keema. The taste of the paniyaram itself was subtle but the chicken keema inside was giving it a nice flavor. It also came along with a sweetish chutney which was a nice addition to the dish. 4.5/5 on taste.
Chicken Chettinad Urudai: It was balls made of chicken Chettinad filled with cheese and deep-fried. The balls were oily and were having a strong flavor of oil. The chicken filled with cheese was tasting great. Overall the flavor of the dish was very good but the oily taste made it a bit of a disappointment. 4/5 on taste.
Chicken Thali: I came in 3 boxes one with plain rice, 2nd with chicken in red thin gravy and 3rd with chicken in thick masala. Also, there was appam in the 3rd box. The chicken was well cooked and tender in both the dishes. The thick masala with the chicken was spicy and great in flavors. It tasted great with the appam. Chicken in gravy was also good in flavors and went well with the rice. Overall a great flavorful non-veg thali. 4.5/5 on taste.
Chicken Chettinad Poriyal & Parotta: The chicken in the dish was well cooked and tender. The masala was full of flavors and spicy. This was one of the best Chicken Chettinad I have had. The dish came with 2 parotta which were thin, decent in size but not enough for the Chicken Chettinad. This chicken Chettinad was much better than the one you get at Hotel Deluxe at Fort. Overall a nice flavorful dish. The cost is almost Rs. 500 which is expensive but if you are willing to pay a high amount for quality food than you will enjoy it. 5/5 on taste.
Overall a good experience with this place and I will update this review as I order more items in the future.

A sumptuous feast at South High Kitchen & Bar was a surprise for me at many levels. South Indian food for a North Indian guy that too a Bengali can sometimes be hard to digest. But the food served here was innovatively presented and it tasted really great. Even the condiments tasted top notch. Not a burden to your wallet, with excellent recommendations from the great staff, this is a place to be for some quality time.

South High is a unique find in Mumbai for all the South Indian dishes. The place is relaxing and the service is good too. The taste and representation of food are quite good. I recommend trying Bombay Duck as a side dish to enjoy your South Indian delicacies.
Great service and recommendations by the staff, specially Dinesh Singh. We had the Meen Mallipuram Surmai, veg Malabar curry and narukku Dosa chicken. And a Jigar kulir (coconut water mocktail) to wash it all down. The kiddo was also happy with his steam idli and butter sada Dosa. All food came piping hot from the kitchen. Food was very flavourful. The accompanying chutneys too. Service was very attentive. A great experience.

I had ordered Mysore Chesse Masala Dosa and Chicken Ghee Roast with Dosa. Both dishes were outstanding. Brilliantly presented in Kerala Style Sadhya (banana leaf concept). Recently visited this joint with a friend. It a had good sitting arrangement. It was crowded with Families and Friends. The service was also quick and on time.
We had ordered the following items :-
Mangluru chicken sukka & neer dosa - Need dosa is my all time favorite. It was served with semi dry boneless chicken which was cooked in special manglorian spices and fried coconut mixture. The taste was amazing.
Chicken Chettinad Poriyal - This was chicken tossed in a homemade Chettinad spice with coconut cream.
4 Kerala Parantha - This is basically layered laccha parantha which was perfectly cooked and it was super delicious and soft.
Pan Choco chip Ice cream.
Rose almond Ice cream.
All the dishes were amazing and The ice cream was yummy too.

This place is mostly famous for its south Indian flavours in food so to taste it I ordered "Koli 65 Pakoda" basically fried pieces of onion and chicken which are deep fried and "Tandoori Muttai" which is a egg dish toasted in tandoor spices with "Lemon Rice" which is served with peanuts and in dessert we ordered "Akharot Halwa".... Loved the food...
This place is mostly famous for its south food but in a different way.... I had ordered "Kerala Muttai Bonda" its basically an egg dish fried with butter to add more taste and "Kottamalli Crab" in which the crab meat is tossed with coriander sauce with Jeera Rice and finally in dessert "Khajura Payasam"...... The food was great and they have the perfect south Indian taste in it.....

The decor was fun and quirky, the service prompt and friendly. However, I'm going to focus on their food during this review. Simply because it was so darn good.
The butter uthappa was truly soft, plump and fluffy. The accompaniments (chutney, sambhar, etc.) were all good and went perfectly well with it.
The appam with mutton stew was fantastic. This is the kind of thing made for cheering one up on gloomy, rainy days of irksome, unseasonal rain. The appams were soft and yet firm enough not to disintegrate when dipped in the stew. The stew was wholesome and flavourful without being spicy or hot. The mutton was cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bones at the slightest touch. Absolutely delicious!
I've ended up writing much more about the appam and stew than the uthapam, not because the uthapam was lacking in any way but, just because I'm decidedly carnivorous and tend to favour the non vegetarian option

I have been to South High a couple of times by now. And I must say it's a meat lover's paradise. This time I tried their Koli 65 Pakoda and Prawns Gassi with rice. I must say it was the most delicious thing I have ever tried. The chicken pakodas were crispy and had a unique taste. I recommend this dish to all meat lovers.
So this restraurant is basically the best place if you reside In the South India. It has the best dishes which has Kerala and South Indian cuisine in it. They have a great variety of dishes served. The bar over here is preety good as well. The service provided here is just excellent. The ambience is good and the platting of the dish is a desire to watch. Some of the dishes I tried are:-
1) Telangana Bhurji with Neer Dosa - It is a combination of scrambled eggs with some spices and served with Neer Dosa. It is a traditional south Indian dish.
2) Chicken Molaga Idli - Idli Chunks are tossed with some ghee and chicken. It is lovely in taste.
3) Kerala Pork Roast - This dish has pork marinated with spices and served with a Dosa.
4) Long Island Iced Tea - Traditional Cocktail and great in taste.
It's a great place. Do try it.

South High Restaurant located in lower parel is one of the best place to visit in the locality.
It is mostly attracted by its ambience.
Service is very fast. Dishes you can try murgh ghee roast ,chicken 65 and many more.
My overall experience was very good. You can visit with your family and friends.

I visited this place with my friends.
I am a party holic, i loved the place very much.
We were very stressed but, their food and drinks made us energetic.
I would recommend everyone to visit this restaurant once with friends.
Well the outlet is located in Kamala mill, the delivery was fast and on time and the delivery guy was very punctual and gentle and on time, the packing of the food was very well done.
Must try dish-
1) dosa wada and idli,
2) Krispy paneer.
We tried about 5-6 dishes at here. Loved all of them.
String hoppers with stew was delicious. Coconut favour was outstanding. However string hopper could have been more soft.
Quick murgun idli & Mangalorean idli was amazing. Ghee flavour and Mangalorean paste was so yummy.
Taco dosa is something don't recommend. It's regular masala dosa. Not that great.
Idli are something 😍🤩
Rava dosa was nicely prepared.
If u really love South Indian food than this is the place for u as the food literally melts in your mouth here ..

South Indian restaurant are a dime a dozen, and you can find one at just abour any corner of the city. South High, is not one of them. Neither does it claim to be a restaurant thats serving authentic south indian cuisine, its different and its challenging the notions we have regarding south Indian food.
The restaurant looks unlike any Udipi/South indian restaurant you've seen, its upmarket and chic with beautiful interiors and spaced out seating.
Their menu is vast, and you'll be surprised that they go beyond your regular mysore masalas and chutney sadas and serve chicken dosas, fish thalis, taco dosas and even south indian flavour inspired cocktails.
We were there to try their lunch thalis. They're priced at 395 and are served as an all you can eat setting. Served on a banana leaf, the spread is large.
What starts with medu vadas and different masala idlis changing on a regular basis, it accompnied by a host of chutneys, with them making a spot on coconut chutney, flavoured with the perfect curry leaves and mustard seed tadka.
The mains also rotate on a regular basis, our favourites from the day were the Malabar Curry and thr Vendakai Pachadi which is a dish made of seared okra in a white curry.
The mains are served with neer dosa, uppatam, puri and ghee rice. The coconut based malabar curry pairs perfectly with fresh hot uttapams which are served a generous helping of white butter.
The Payasam had to be our favourite from the thali, however South High's take on the Mangalorian Gadbad was out of this world, comprised of warm halwa topped with creamy gulkand ice cream.
Overall, we loved our experience at South High, and we would definitely be visiting again.

Food Presentation, taste & quality was very good & south high really impresses in the food department no matter whether you order veg or non veg dishes.
South High Restaurant & Bar is spacious, well spread & seating is comfortable.
The interiors are thoughtfully done up keeping ancient heritage & traditions intact with a modern touch.
The place has a soothing ambience where each wall showcases designs, paintings, decorative showpieces to fill the place perfectly without feeling too loud or bling
They have decent number of staff members to cater to your needs & make your food experience worthwhile.
One Specific Area that South High can improve on are their cooler/ mocktails These drinks are decent but nothing to really rave about or order as repeats.
South High Restaurant & Bar is one of those few South Indian places which offers lovely interiors, great food, decent drinks to enjoy with your family (including kids) no matter what you order in Veg & Non Veg dishes.
Their starters and main course are equally good & don’t falter in taste or quality.

As soon as you enter the place, there's a different vibe all around the area which will make you fall in love with this place. Ambiance Is so cool with soothing music and pretty lights.

1. Chettinad chicken - This was the Best ever. I so love this chicken made in mangolian masala. So delicious and tasteful. Must have this. Highly recommended.
2. Rajni dosa - This was yummy served with chutney and sambhar. The presentation was really good.
3. Chicken ghee roast -
This was quite similar to chettinad chicken. Tasteful and the quantity was good. Highly recommended.
Mains -
1. Chicken gassi and dosa -
Chicken gravy served with dosa's which you can also eat with neer dosa. Must have.
2. Ragi Kari Dosa - This was something new to me and it was an interesting combination. Totally loved the taste and it was so filling. Highly recommended.
Desserts -
Gadbad ice-cream -
There are various types of Gadbad ice-creams available in the menu. I tried elaneer and madhurai.
Overall, an excellent place to be To have South Indian delicacies. Awesome place and service. The staff is welcoming and friendly.
South High is a refreshingly well thought out restaurant that has the potential to give your a truly south Indian dinning experience. Great place to stop by with your family, a big group of friends or alone. Go here for the meal on a banana leaf experience and don't feel shy to eat with your hand, the food and drinks here are delicious, and the variety is excellent. In terms of taste you might since it to be slightly toned down compared to the food in the south but we're talking a minor difference only. The staff here is warm and welcoming, big smiles and with a good understanding of the food. The decor is vibrant but not too gaudy. Don't expect a party here, come here for a good conversation and some fantastic food.

South High Kitchen and Bar, located in one of the most popular areas of Mumbai i.e. Kamla Mills, Oasis City. The Kamla mills is home to some of the most popular restaurant which are known for its drinks and Nightlife. It missed on a Family style dining restaurant and South High Kitchen and Bar is one such restaurant which fits perfectly in that category.
They are the first one's to serve South Indian food in kamla mills. The interiors are inspired from south indian traditions such as Kathakali Face painted on one of the walls. Another wall has beautifully arranged spatulas of different sizes.
We tried a few dishes here..
▫️Kozhukattai Bombs
These are Rice Balls with Cheese as its stuffing, it is then tempered with Coconut Podi, Curry Leaves in clarified butter. It was served with some coconut chutney and it was amazing. ORDER IT!

▫️Quick Gun Murugan Idli
Bite sized idli pieces tempered in clarified butter with a lot of Gunpowder in it. Also called as Malgapodi which has the spiciness of red chillies combined with the aroma and rich taste of roasted dals and asafoetida.

▫️Valai Vada
Raw Banana Vadas, it is similar to Mumbai Vada but the main ingredient had been replaced with raw banana, which gave it a completely new dimension with a bit of sour taste to it. ORDER IT!

▫️Rajni Dosa
Dosa served taco style, the stuffing here had the Potato Mash which is usually found in Masala Dosa, lot of Cheese and it was topped with crushed Rice Papad to give a nice crunchy texture to the Taco. ORDER IT!

▫️Anabe Suka and Neer Dosa
Anabe is Mushroom, so this is Mushroom with a dry gravy of coconut and other spices, goes perfectly with the Neer Dosa which is a very soft rice pancake. This was my other favorite main course. ORDER IT!

Nicely cooked rice with dominant flavor of lemon and prepared with some tempering of turmeric, mustard seeds and peanuts. It was exactly like homemade lemon rice. Authentic!

Rice preparation with some yogurt and mixed vegetables along with lot of fried onions. It cooked under pressure so that the flavor of spices remains trapped inside the biryani. This one is my favorite main course here. ORDER IT!

Today i & my team was invited by Manoj for food review at "South High Restaurant",Lower Parel West,so i invited my "Team Indian Food Express" bloggers Bharti Godha Joshi,Primla Hingorani & Satish Puthran.We all reached the venue at 01:00pm.
Manoj asked us to order something to eat & drink so we ordered "Veg Thali" first.
Those who haven't visited South India & tasted it dishes this is the place you should come & taste the dishes.
During South Indian festivals this restaurant serves its speciality dishes too apart from normal dishes.
I visited this restaurant 10 times before also but today i got a family feeling coz we all were eating lunch together which is a South Indian tradition too.
Coming to dishes let see wat all we tasted.Have a look below :
VEG THALI : Thali here means "Banana Leaves".It consisted of idli pieces,medu vada,chilli bhajji,coconut chutney,puri,lachcha paratha,uttappa dosa,paneer curry,rasam,papad,brown boiled rice,pickles,buttermilk chaas.
I ordered "Mulugatwamy Soup" which is my favourite soup in that restaurant.Ibjust loved it.
Coming to drinks there was "Minty Jaljeera Ice","Imli Soda","Anarasa","Virgin Mojito Flavoured","Cucumber & Coriander Sour","Mampalum Kari Martini".
Minty Jaljeera Ice : This drink made using mint leaves/pudina,jaljerra masala with dash of ice.
Imli Soda : This drink made using imli or tamarind pulp mixed with soda.
Anarasa : Anar means pomegranate & ras means juice.Juice made using pomegranate.
Virgin Mojito Flavoured : Its a type of mocktail.
Cucumber & Coriander Soup : Drink made using cucumber & coriander mixed with gin.
Mampalum Kari Martini : Another flavoured mocktail.
Later on Satish ordered few non veg dishes to taste.
"Chicken Ghee Roast" & "Chicken Kadipatta" were d dishes ordered by him.
Chicken Ghee Roast : Tender chicken roasted in ghee served in banana leaf.
Chicken Kadipatta : Kadipatta means curry leaves.Tender chicken roasted in ghee mixed with loads of kadipatta served in banana leaf.
There was 2 types of pongal rice : "Sweet Pongal" & "Kara Pongal".
Sweet Pongal : Rice mixed with jaggery.
Kara Pongal : Kara means spicy.Rice mixed with spices.
In between these all we were clicking pics of the dishes.I liked the wordings written in all 4 South Indian languages.There was "Kathakali face" placed on the wall too.This was giving a teaditional look of South India as if we were there itself for lunch in any one of the states/district.
Luckily i got to meet d students of Bombay Dyeing for which i judged their cooking competition years ago.Happy to see them all once again.
Finally we ordered sweet paan to eat.Just loved the taste of beetle leaf.It helps to digest food.
Overall nice ambience,food,taste,infrastructure, serving etc.
South Indian theme with budget alcohol price specially for Zomato gold 2+2 drinks, fried idly is spicy they have 2 variants in this. And good starters maincorse rice as its South Indian food and of course Dosa variant is also tasty and they give you paan with billa perfect after food mouth Freshner
An authentic South Indian restaurant in the heart of Kamala mills. The food is good & traditional, service is average and slow.
We have eaten there a few time and been happy with the food, thou sometime we have been served something we didn't expect.
It's a cute looking spot and designed well.
While their dosa was pretty good everything else was basic. The wada seemed undercooked and even tasted raw, when I tried to tell them it's not mean to be this way he seemed clueless as to why.
Its restaurant and bar. Liquors are also served. But you can enjoy in separate section if with family and do not prefer liquor. Food is excellent quality. And also comes in enough quantity. The price range is bit high but it is worth for what you get.
Awesome place for food lover .this restaurant is in Kamala Mills .They have really good options for non veg .sea food was also good .the restaurant was really clean and staff was also polite .They have kerela theme in restaurant.They have good options for hard drinks also .You will find really different option in menu like idli stuffed with chicken ,dosa chicken combination and uttapam with chicken combination etc.Ambience was also great.for two people it will require around 2k .Apart from this they dont good music but it's fine . They have big screen also for some good match . Overall great place to have some good time .
Absolutely love the South Indian food they serve here, have tried a lot of things here and would highly recommend their uttapams, cheese garlic dosa, crispy corn and crispy veg😋, the South Indian masala papad is very tasty as well.
