Gone to attend meeting and wanted to have some light food so ordered shivala veg. Restaurant. They serves north Indian, Chinese, South Indian and fast food. The food was delicious.
I have been at this place many times and I love the people favourite dishes paper dosa
Lovely place at fort to visit great ambience crowded place food quality is great had biryani and utappa yummy it was superb loved it
Being a class restaurant near my home, this became my family and mine's to go restaurant for any occasion; sometimes just because my mom does not want to cook.
This place has south indian cuisine to north indian, chinese dishes and much more, this one place caters all age genre and likings alike!
One of the best veg restaurant near CSMT
Panner masala dosa and pav bhaji is very nice and highly recommend to have it
Every time I go shopping in Fort I make a pit stop at this restaurant. It has a wide veg menu and is a good place to visit for snacks as well as complete meals.
The food here is tasty and always impresses me with it's authenticity. Chinese, South-indian or Punjabi, everything is good. Definitely a must-visit when you're in the area.
Good place for having family lunch with good food and ambience. It is near to CST railway station. And a good place for hungry commuters moving and out the CST.
We had dulex Thali which includes Punjabi dishes
We had soup, 3 Sabaji including 1 Paneer Sabaji, Sheera, Dal Takdka, Curd, 2 Rotis (option to select Roti or Chapatis), Veg Pulav and Ice cream.
The only difference between Deluxe Thali and Veg thali is you will get additional soup and ice cream in Deluxe Thali and It's Punjabi thali where as Veg Thali has South Indian dishes.
We also had Masala Dosa which tastes good.
Excellent Dinning👍👍
Authentic South Indian & punjabi thali, very yummy! Very prompt service, very nice & friendly staff.
This restaurant situated at cst , fort is PURE VEG yes it's a pure veg restaurant serving south Indian , Punjabi thali and many more.
I tried the veg biryani, paneer tikka, and dal makhani here . And to be very honest it was really good. Paav bhaji, various types of dosa's i tried and they were good. Ambience is also nice it's spacious.
But except above mentioned food items some food items are costly and they don't taste that much good. Otherwise this place is must visit for Vegetarians. The AC floor charges extra whereathe non AC doesn't charges extra bucks. The staff is so so courteous. Overall it was a good experience.
Shavala Veg Restaurant 🔥
This restaurant is just located 4-5 Min from the Churchgate Station ✌️
This place is the best for having family lunch with a good Food & ambience and spacious seatings ❤️
Our Order 🔥
1:-Veg Delux Thali ❤️
This Thali is as Same as Veg Thali the different thing between Delux & Normal is they give one Soup as starter & Also Ice cream at the end 😅
But this is also the best Thali which have different types of Vegetables with breads of your choice 🔥❤️
2:-Paneer Mutter Massala
It was perfectly prepared which is not that spicy which was the best part it was a perfectly prepared gravy
3:-Dal Khichdi
I love this Khichdi very much which was served to us hot and the Khichdi was very delicious 😋
When you are in Churchgate this place is a must have for a family Lunch or Dinner 🔥❤️
Ordered veg thali with pulav and deluxe thali. One of the best place to try thali food. Fast service and polite staff. All the taste of the gravy is awesome. Quantity is also good with good ambience.
One of the places where you get Dosas at all time of the day. Paneer masala dosa was amazing. Food is delicious and reasonable. Good for family and friends.
If you are near CST and want to try out good vegetarian food then Shivala is the place for you.
Most impressive thing about this restaurant is service it's too prompt and fast within 5 minutes only we got the table though that day it was full occupied.
We ordered American chopsey which one of the best I had till now. Palak soup real organic taste of palak .
At last soal kadhi too tasty.
Ambience wise it's good as general restaurant no specific theme is followed.
Card plus cash payment can be done.
Such a nice vegetarian place. It was my first time in Mumbai and I am so glad that I found this place. All the food items were very tasty. I am looking forward to visit this place again when I get back to Mumbai.

Service:5/5
A restaurant which good be easy traced as it is opposite to CST station for dine a best veg meal.
If you are looking forward to date a charming lady then the level 1 of the restaurant is best where you can enjoy somewhat privacy with your partner but not at peak hours.
Before I can talk about this restaurant, I must first say this is the best value for money veg restaurant I have ever been. Then price , the taste , the ambiance and the location all awsome. Veg thaali is great !! Loved every thing about this restaurant. The best part was the price at which they offer such a great service. Must go if your close by Victoria Terminus, Bombay (Mumbai CST).
Went to this place when we were searching for a plain comfort food. The place is comfortable and staff is friendly. We ordered Mysore masala dosa, plain rawa butter dosa, chapati and daal makhni.
mysore masala dosa was nicely done and not overly spicy as they tend to be in most places. The taste was very balanced and complemented well with the sambar and chutneys.
The plain rawa butter dosa was buttery and subtle at the same time. Perfectly balanced and comforting - exactly what we were looking for. Paired with sambhar and chutneys, it tasted amazing.
The daal makhni was good too. Spices were balanced and taste was great. The roti was soft and generously lathered with butter.
Overall, I would say that it is great for the price and the staff here also makes you feel at home.
A place which is fit for vegetarians, food quality and quick meals. This place is situated at a walking distance from cst station. And I must say this place is one the best veg restaurant.
So I ordered there Paneer spring roll, Paneer koliwada masala,
Situated at a walking distance of mere 2 minutes from CSTM station, Shivala is undoubtedly one of the best veg restaurants in town !
Ordered "Shivala Spcl Pizza" & "Paneer Chilly", which are my personal favorites here ! The pizza is topped with fresh veggies and a thick layer of cheese, baked to perfection !
Recommended to visit whenever you're in town !
The restaurant is exactly in front of CSMT station , we had ordered Deluxe thali, Taste was nice , just expect some delay during peak hours.
Thanks.
I was there on visit to Mumbai recently and was happy to explore new restaurants nearby CST where got to found this place. It is really a good place in between the station area the dining is best for such a humid environment and the food quality as per the price is worth .I ordered the veg thali and was happy to have it even the service was quick for all this I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as at lower tables where I was gonna sit water was dripping on it from the celling which I didn't like .My overall experience was good which I sharing with you all and will visit this place again in future.
Try south indian here. Mindblowing. Rava idli is very very tasty .good ambience exactly near to cst station, main course is ok ,hygiene is very good .try tea something diffrrent
Best Restaurant for Vegetarians. The taste of food here is very delicious and the interior is also amazing. Schezwan Potato, Tiranga, Hara bhara kabab, methi was the best main course food. One should try this Restaurant if you are visiting CST. IT is very nearby to CST station.
Best experience ever in Mumbai... Best food specially all south indian food..Service is quite slow but may be bcoz of crowd in resto.. some dishes they served in Banana leaves which was awesome.. even i carried parcel with me in train till panvel still food is as such just cooked from kitchen.. Best veg food i ever had in Mumbai area..whwnever i visit CST I definitely goes there to have my fav dish "Paneer chilly" in their banana leaves style...Thnx team for best paneer chilly in whole Mumbai.
Regularly order from this place to our office Times of India. Quality Quantity both good. A little oily veggies. Chapati is good. Tried almost all the items made up of rice be it paneer pulao, khichdi, biryani and what not. Satisfies the taste buds.
Nice good fast running restaurant.
Food is very good, service is fast and efficient.
Ok ambience but superb AC in this Hot Season..
Recommended to have a quick meal!!
Serves all cuisines so suits all taste class.
One of the wonderful restaurants for vegetarians. We ordered North Indian Thali, Mushroom and Baby Corn Masala and Garlic Naan.
The dough of garlic naan was thick and it was not made properly.
Service too good. A warm and nice environment
Really i like the delux thaali this is my first tym that i eat delux thaali at Shivala veg.restaurant.so i really like the thaali n the service provided by them was really nice ✊👍
Best veg restaurant in fort area. It has AC and non AC sections.
Must visit. Prompt service. Very tasty food. I had pav bhaji, idli vada sambar, tea, masala soda. Enjoyed the food.
Meals are also good.
Happy fooding😋
Best veg. restaurant in fort area. Quick service and good taste. Most importantly pocket friendly. Staff is very good.
Restaurant has AC and non ac section.
We had order the veg delux thali . It was really good . A huge big tight meal . Good taste an a good hygine .nice ambience .an yes a good well trained staff . Do visit once it in fort
Manchow soup was yummmm.. We ordered for the butter naan and paneer lababdaar.. The manager said it would be spicy but to our disappointment it wasn't. And highly overpriced.
Took parcel from here as one of my friend who stays there had recommended me this restaurant.
I took Paneer Koliwada Masala which was quite tasty .. neither too spicy nor sweet.
Ample quantity for 2 people and Chapatis were also large.
It was value for money considering the taste and quantity.
Would visit this restaurant to try more dishes but I feel it is recommendable as suggested by my friend.
"Travel in a hurry no worry" kind of feeling whenever am in Mumbai and need to catch a decent bite before returning to Pune if travelling by train.
Close proximity to CST and quick service is the USP.
Don't expect to sit down and laze around cause someone else has the same idea as you :-).
Food is good especially their Lunch thali is adequate to satisfy all your cravings before hitting the ride home.
I visited this place in my every mumbai visit. Food was good in taste here and service was pretty fast. Ambience is simple but food was worth for money! This place can be tried! 👍🏻
This place is located opposite to CST station near the bus stand. Had ordered dor hot & sour soup, hyderabadi biriyani and sol kadhi. The food was good and the service was good as well. Overall it was a good experience.
Shivala is situated within the walking distance from CST railway station and specialised in serving tasteful south Indian veg dishes though they serve even north Indian dishes. The ground floor is non ac section whereas 1st floor is of AC section. The restaurant is special, clean and tidy. The place is always crowded during peak hours however service is good.
Shivala a small restaurant which serves tasty food at a reasonable rate. Any Paneer dishes must try. It's paneer is fresh, soft and tasty. It's litte crowded during peak hours. A must try restaurant if you are in CST or nearby
Overall
Food-4.9/5
Service-4.0/5
Ambience-4.0/5
If u are traveling and staying near cst this is one of the places you can count on for satisfying your hunger with some decent food. They provide fresh food and with honest hospitality, if its going to take time for your order they l be upstraight with you and let you know about it. The freshness and quality of the food served compensates for other things. I ordered upma and paper dosa for breakfast which was really fulfilling and fresh and for dinner I had kadhai paneer and chapati accompanied with complimentary salad, pickle and paper plates for travel friendly dinner.
Yummy food. Really good variety. Regularly order from here from office. The paneer gravy dishes are really tasty. Good and healthy option. Delivery is also on time.
We ordered deluxe thali, it was good more than sufficient for one person. Sabji's were good. Two deserts. Ambience n service is good. Ac section available.
We visit this place its amazing south indian dishes they serve . We had try paneer butter masala dosa , idli wada sambar and chass . Its very fresh coconut chatni taste was superb nice decorated hall and service is also fast .
Friends plz try south indian dishes
The service here is super quick and your food is on table in no time. This place is right opposite to CST Mumbai. The ambiance is decent and quiet. If you want to order food here order Punjabi or South India. Food quite good and reasonable. The only downside is the place is crowded during afternoon and is difficult to get a table.
Visited this restaurant with family and friends.Quick service with tasty food at a reasonable price suitable for all vegetarian people.Loved the food and the staff was very professional and friendly in terms.Enjoyed the service :)
A restaurant that has a very tasty thali with a nice tomato soup, three vegetables, a dessert and puris/rotis with rice. This is a must try at this place.
We've been travelling through Southern India for a month and eating out at highly rated restaurants every lunch and dinner. Shivala has to be among the very best in food quality and authenticity and wins by a country mile in terms of value. Very quick and friendly service. Clean and in a nice part of Mumbai.
Recently went to shivala. It is very near to CST railway station. It is located opposite to the bus station which is outside the CST railway station. We went there for having lunch. We were lucky that there was place available in the Air conditioned section. We ordered punjabi cuisine. With in no time the order was met. I must admit that their service was very fast. Coming back to food. The quality was nice. Taste was also good. Rotis were very soft. The prices are very reasonable. Ambience was pretty good. The outside view was also nice. The staff was very well mannered. Overall a sure shot recommendation.
Very decent place to visit with family. Close to CST station. Very homely and desi flavours given to food by all indian spices. Good mix cousin. I loved the authentic dal khichadi and pav bhaji. Food was yummy.
Ordered the veg thali with pulav. The sabzis were the basic ones, including soyabean, elephant's foot, and a south Indian preparation, and were really tasty. You can choose between chapati or tandoori roti, we went with the latter one (Two tandoori rotis per thaali). The gulab jamun however was sloppy. The pulav too, wasn't that good. However Rs.170 for the thaali wasn't that bad a deal. Also it's close to CST and is buzzing during lunch time. Worth a try!
I particularly went here for having tea as it was the only option I saw around near CST station.
The place was crowded and the service was very quick.
The tea was good in taste though the sugar content was less as I like my tea more sugary. Nevertheless it was a saviour!!
Didn't expect a fine dine restaurant in cst and pocket friendly too. Went there on an afternoon with my friend and it was too crowded but the service was really fast and good.
Talking about the food we had cheese pav bhaji and masala dosa and it was really yummy.
Been Here. Had A Wonderful Experience The Service Is Mind Blowing Also The Food Quality. The Ambience Is Very Relaxing And Pleasant. Loved To Be Here
Good quality restuarant around CST. It has AC & non AC section. They offer variety of dishes including Thali. I like South & North Indian food there. Many a Times rush will be there. So, avoid exact lunch & dinner time. Go somewhat early or late. I was surprised to see that no roti was available but only chapati. Overall it's good & economical.
Always prefer to visit Shivala if we are in CST area. Good food and budget friendly. Idli chilly is favorite with us. Also Rawa masala dosa.
A decent place which serves good south Indian food. I would say CST doesn't have a better south Indian restaurant than this. I would not suggest to try Chinese as it is not a style which they come with.
I preferred this place over others because it seemed decent enough but too crowded and that's what made me more curious about the food being served here. Ordered Paobhaji which was good enough to cool down my hunger but the quality of Pao didn't seem good. It wasn't fresh. I didn't complain as I was in a hurry to catch my train from CST.
P.S. - There's a pan kiosk right outside this restaurant which is really good. Try it ! 😁
Shivala is located right opposite the CST station. During lunch time, the restaurant is packed with office goers and people travelling long distance from the station. Expect waiting time to be around 15 minutes if you are in a large group.
Over a period of five months, I have tasted a majority of the South Indian dishes. Good, honest, wholesome are the terms I would use to describe the fare at Shivala.
Only reason which stops me from rating the restaurant 5 stars is that the waiters can get a bit rude sometimes. I have had an argument with a waiter and had complained to the owner regarding this.
Situated right opposite the CST station, lies a typical South Indian Restaurant serving Pure Veg Value-for-Money food at decently priced rates..It is very popular not only for the South Indian crowd, but also for all the hungry commuters moving in & out of CST..
Recently I got a chance to visit the restaurant for some mouth watering breakfast along with a friend who's been coming here since a long time..Ordered for a Mysore Masala Dosa & a Wada Sambhar along with a cup of Filter Coffee..
MYSORE MASALA DOSA (4/5): Crispy Dosa with Mysore Masala applied all over the insides..Nice taste, but should have been more spicy though..The potato bhaji was fresh & delicious!! MUST-TRY!!
WADA SAMBHAR (4/5): Served Steaming Hot, the Wada Sambhar proved to be a classic! The taste was good but I felt the Sambhar was a little too sweet with respect to the somewhat spicy Wada..
FILTER COFFEE (5/5): Always a Show Stealer amongst Hot Beverages..Perfect South Indian touch, the coffee was absolutely refreshing! MUST-TRY!
Will visit soon to try out other dishes!!
AMBIENCE: 2.5/5
FOOD: 4/5

VALUE-FOR-MONEY: 4/5
OVERALL: 4/5
Good option for those looking for a good meal during office lunch hours. Its not very expensive, and the quality is very good. The quantity is sufficient and food is not extra spiced up. A decent place to take your collegues out for lunch.Value for money....
Good restaurants. It's a family restaurant and very nearby to CST station..walkable distance. I suggest people to go with family. Food is delicious plus hygenic..
Had been with family for a breakfast. Started with onion Uttappa, Masala Uttappa, &Idli Sambhar. Quite expensive, but service was good and fast Situated near by CSTM. You can except Crowd. Food is nice and Ambience. 👍 Definitely recommend to my friends out there.
One of mine favourite veg restro
Its almost 7 years i guess first ever i visited this place and still this place serve you the best veg cusine
Veg starters are really good especially paneer crispy out here; quantity and taste wise is good.
Main course is also really good especially in paneer section.
Next time whenever i'm visiting this place i'm gonna try their grand thali 😃
Service is really good out here with both ac and non ac section.
Ambience is pretty decent and they keep updating it.
Overall my experience was really good out here.
a restraunt in need is a frnd indeed...
i was stuck at cst due to some train problem, was hungry also..saw shivala close to station and went there...what i found is a decent restraunt wid ac and non ac arrangements...gud variety of food...a range of south indian snacks..food is tasty enough...so whenever u r stucked at vt like me...u can trust shivala...gud food dat gives value for d money spent...
This place has been our chilling place, since college.I really don't knw why it has such a terrible rating. The AC section is decent, though it doesn't share a great view. Coming to the food, one must and without fail try corn on toast, spring rolls and Manchurian fried rice. They taste amazing. The chef makes it with great patience. The pav bhaji and South Indian cuisine is also good. The staff and manager are a little grumpy and would never give us our usual table, but we still go there for the Manchurian fried rice. Do try it.
I could not understand why this restaurant has downrated reviews and ratings.
I and my friends were here for lunch on May 18 as it's a nearby veg restaurant from our stay.
We'd ordered mushroom masala, chana masala, misri roti and butter nan. The food was tasty, but being crowded restaurant they took enough time to serve food.
Apart from this, each and everything seemed fine.
Location is the main and also food quality is good. I tried many dishes and never disappointed. Some northern dishes like veg kasmiri, Navratna kurma, veg peshawari also well prepared. Good sitting arrangement maintained with cleanliness & hygiene. During lunch time you may found rush & que.
Its a nostalgic memory for me as this was the best restaurant near my college so during college days we used to eat here half the time
Food quality is superb. Anything you order and you won’t be disappointed. They have a set breakfast menu : idli, vada, dosa, upma, sheera and poha but all are equally good.
I loved their pav bhaji, an all time favourite
The ambience is also good. They have a have a quick bite and go section and another section for fine dining
Proximity to the cst station is its usp.
The staff is very polite and helpful
Do visit for a good breakfast, lunch or dinner in the cst area
Bland and over-priced. Do not order punjabi or rahasthani dishes here! They do accept foreign visa though, including by tap.
I came here for nostalgia, having eaten at this convenient to the station veg restaurant with two floors in 2016. I will not return. Enough of the finger bowls and air-con. Make authentic regional dishes, not bastardised dishes for Joe Average. Shivala is not a foodie destination, despite the price.
1. Bhindi Rajasthani (i.e. I expected dry)
not enough bhindi. Too many other ingredients such as onions, for my taste. Delicious, just not dry enough and not enough bhindi for the singular pure taste of this slimey crunchy vegetable.
7/10
2. Missi roti (besan and atta)
Nothing like what I get in Punjabi restaurants. No atta. Generic as if machine made. But browned the way I like it. Appeared to be Tandoori baked
3/10
3. Makai roti (corn)
Looked and tasted exactly same as the 'missi roti'. Browned the way I like it. Appeared to be Tandoori baked
3/10
4. Dahi
No 'kick' of sourness
5/10
5. Lime soda
Perfect, hard to go wrong
10/10
Everything was rather bland. I asked for spices buy no chili.
When I alerted manager immediately that the bread was not missi roti, he did not offer to replace it or in any way rectify the order. In fact, he doubled down that this was indeed missi roti. Perhaps there are a variety of ways of making missi roti. I do not like this version. This disappointment ruined the whole meal.
INR537 w/ taxes. Zero tip.
The food they serve were delicious and serve hot from oven. I had my breakfast and was deliciuos. I never thought I will get such a delicious food in the busy city. Surely recommended place.
Typical Udupi style restaurant serving unlimited menu 😀 in vegetarian options
I tried my typical selection veg Cutlet which was nice quality and decoction tea which is usually served in these type of restaurants, with lots of froth topped on the tea
Over all nice experience
The place is crowded and had to wait for getting a place, but their service is fast and food is good, the quantity is enough and Suji payasam is very tasty, try their masala papad it's too good 😊
Here The spring roll is tooo goodd🖤
One of good pure veg restaurant in CSTM or VT area of Mumbai. Mumbai special Pav Bhaji or Punjabi food is good. Few Jain Food options are there.
Test is really good best in price and quantity is also sufficient for a person. And service is also fast and staf is also well behaved and don't make you wait for the order.
I had my breakfast and was delicious. I never thought I will get such a delicious food in the busy city. Surely recommended place.
The food they serve were delicious and serve hot from oven. I had my breakfast and was deliciuos. Surely recommended place.
Shivala is pure veg restaurant and it's near to CSMT.
The food is great and the prices are reasonable.
Although the service is good, orders are sometimes delayed too much, but the quality of the food is not compromised.
I think that's okay becoz 'Making good things takes time'. 😊✌️
Shivala is one of the old and well known restaurant opp CSTM station. In the morning you will get all the indian breakfast south indian dishes and in main course you should try Chole puri and Tava pulav they make it out of this world. The food quality, quantity is good, the restaurant's atmosphere is good.
It's a nice Udupi restaurant. It is located near csmt railway station. It has ac and non-ac options. Palak dosa is delicious. Filter coffee is a must try here. The dishes are very reasonably priced.
Clearly, here is where all the locals go! Which is always a good sign
I'm vegan and previous reviews suggested they do vegan food. They made us vegan mushroom mutter and alo gobi. They also made us plan naan with steamed plain rice.
All for £7(including tip)!!
