This place is a crowded chaos over the weekends. Be prepared for a minimum wait period of about 30 mins if you want to eat your dosas here. But that's the case only on the weekends. This tiny dosa joint has its own set of customers. Tucked away in the bylanes of SoBo near French Bridge is this joint that dishes out countless versions of dosas. Catering amazingly well to the Jains in that densely Jain populated area also makes this dosa joint extremely popular amongst the customers.
We braved the crowd and ordered our share of dosas here and all that frazzled tension from the wait went away with the taste of it. What we had were their extremely popular Mysore Sada Dosa, Paneer Mysore Masala Dosa and Paneer Chilly Dosa. Each had a distinct taste and while Mysore dosa has its own chutney coating inside, the paneer mysore masala dosa had the fillings of capsicum, tomatoes, onions and the potato masala of the masala dosa. Even the Paneer CHilly Dosa had a distinct chinese dosa feel without being too heavy on the stomach.
All dosas here come with generous portions of chutneys and no sambhar.
We loved coming here and would hope for slightly less chaotic days in the future!

Located at the foot of French bridge just beside Mama Mia Pizzas in grant road is this small and narrow outlet- Narayan's Dosa that can seat up to 10-12 people only. We can safely say that more of their business comes in from people standing outside or eating in their own vehicles parked nearby. If you happen to visit during the weekend then be mentally prepared that you will not get a seat because they are always overcrowded!Our favourite dishes here are - Chinese Dosa, Paneer Masala/Chilly Dosa, Schezwan Dosa, Onion Tomato Uttapa & Butter Sada Dosa. More than the dosas we are in love with the two types of chutney that they offer. They are absolutely to-die-for and the main reason for our fondness to this place. Their pricing may feel slightly on the higher side (not majorly) but that is due to the Brand Name that has been built by the man single-handedly. Although this place cannot exactly come under the category of a restaurant, some may even have concerns about its hygiene but we totally love their dosas from day one!
Paneer chilly Dosa was flavoursome. It was properly baked and crispy. Mixture of veggies and paneer along with masala was good-tasting. Coconut chutney as well as the garlic chutney was a deli. Overall, it was a nice chilly dish.
Narayans dosa a place stucked in every townies mind. Its aust visit place for dosa lovers. It has several variety of dosas. Slightly high priced. Its a very small place having minimum 8-12 seating.

Specially is coconut chutney and the garlic chutney brings more taste to it.
It is proper South Indian styled but doesn't contain sambar.
The cheese onion, butter sada and Palak paneer are the best dosas they give and nothing ever beats them here. Will keep going back at least once a month
After being BOOKMARKED for the longest time, I finally visited the Famous Narayan Dosa.
It is situated just near the French Bridge and is at a walking distance from Chowpatty/Marine Drive. It's a small place with very little sitting inside and people usually eat outside the restaurant.
It's a live Dosa Counter which will make you carve even more🤤

Best place in South Mumbai to enjoy some classic and luscious dosa .
We were passing by the area and thought of giving a try to this unique kind of dosa called Mysore Sada Dosa .
I am sure you all must have savoured Mysore masala dosa however this one is a definite must try when out here . The Mysore Sada has most delicious chatni combination on top of the dosa .
The place has very limited seating and may get crowded in evenings .

One of the best dosas which I ever had. Definitely dont miss palak paneer and sezwan cheese dosas. Their both chutneys are totally yummy too. Place is little small but food is delicious
Another famous place of Mumbai, We took a taxi from Grant Road station and ask him if he knew this place and Yes he did.
This is a very street kind place. They have seating inside but mostly people come here in their cars or bikes and eat there.
Getting an attention of the person taking order is a quest though :P.
We had Mysore & Rava Masala Dosa, Which was good then most of the places. Coconut chutney was a highlight though, Super yummy.

Narayan's Dosa is located right before the starting of French Bridge, Opera House. This place gets really crowded almost all the days so its better to come here in cab/ without car as it gets a little difficult to find parking. Specially on holidays.
It serves many variety of dosas and uttapas. The dosas are good. Its not what it used to be but atleast better than lot of other places.
Chutneys have also become a little ok, not what it used to be.

All their dosa’s are top notch.... been going to Narayan dosa since they were a roadside stall outside August Kranti maidan and I was 5 yrs old... taste wise it’s still awesome with lots of variations added now... taken the humble dosa to a different level altogether. A must try!!

THE BEST PLACE IN SOBO FOR DOSAS!!! Absolutely, totally LOVE this place!! I’ve had their Paneer Cheese Dosa and their Masala Dosa. Their Paneer Cheese Dosa is AMAZING! This filling inside is so delicious! Any paneer lover wouldn’t be able to resist having another one!! They serve it with two types of chutney, one coconut chutney and the other was pudina chutney. This place is such a small place just a lanes space.
As you enter they would be making dosa's you can actually see dosa being prepared they only use Amul butter.
There were only 3-4 tables and too conjusted & crowded I was really thinking about the quality and taste but was totally amazed and loved every bite.
All their dosa are priced near 100 -120 Rs but totally worth the price.
What I tried
1.Mysore Masala dosa-all veggies mixed so well and Dosa so crispy it was different from a normal Mysore masala Dosa loved the taste.
2.Panneer Chilly dosa- perfect Chinese gravy of Paneer chilly it was medium spicy and Paneer was fresh too & very soft
3.Chinese Dosa-It had noodles mixed so well with veggies.Every Dosa was so yummy & unique loved it to the core.
4.Mysore Uttapa-Uttapa was okay as compared to Dosa but the quantity was quite filling taste could b better.
People come from different areas to have their Dosa

Narayan's dosa is a southindian food heaven. Their dosas are hot, crispy, flavourful and they have a huge variety in their menu.
This small eateries purely run by word of mouth and have no other means to advertise or ways of branding themselves. Every person living in South Mumbai would not only know this place but will guarantee you that this place never disappoints. We have tired almost everything in the menu starting from onion, Palak paneer, Chinese dosa etc
Go try them if you haven’t already. The place is really small so be prepared to wait.

It was nt at all difficult to locate just ask some1 French bridge opera house they will guide u it's just beside to mama Mia .It's quite a small place basically it's outdoor standing but they do have sitting arrangements for 2..2..People's.Talking abt d taste it was 9/10 let me tell u,I had ordered paneer chilli cheese it took little time bt was worth it d dosa was really nice n crisp n d gravy was tasty too panner was soft and fresh ,I could nt taste cheese in tat bt overall a gd taste.A must visit if u are near opera house .

If you are looking for some lip-smacking dosas in the city of Mumbai, Narayan's Dosa is the place to be. The place is a hard find for someone who is on a short trip or is new to the city. But, thanks to our host and my cousin we could get to find such a gem, to gratify our taste buds.
The place had limited seating, which was full due to the place being immensely popular. People were flocking to the counter to place their orders and there wasn't a moment of rest for the staff. The dosas were being prepared on 4 pans, parallely, to meet the demand of the customers. One interesting thing was that the dosas were being prepared on a coal lit angithi rather than a stove. We made our way through the crowd and grabbed a menucard. The place offers a wide variety of options and each of the options is available in Sada, Cheese and Masala variants. After much deliberation and thought we ordered one Butter Dosa, one Mysore Dosa, one Chinese Dosa, one Onion Dosa and one Cheese Dosa. There came plates of dosa after another, served with coconut chutney. The dosas were crisp and airy. The coconut chutney was a pure bliss. I personally found Mysore Dosa to be the best of all we ordered. It wasn't like the usual Mysore Dosa with that red masala that we get in Delhi. It rather had a filling of chopped vegetables and cheese. The flavors were fresh and earthy. It was impossible to be satiated with just one dosa. The chutney made it all the more addicting.
This wasn't just a meal to fulfil my hunger. This is always going to stay as an experience, as a reminiscense of Mumbai for me.

They don't serve Sambhar but Have to say the White Coconut Chutney is simply awesome. One-of-its-kind with impeccable taste taking the experience of eating Dosas to the next level.
A drive-in experience as you have to eat in your car. Lack of man-power and less capacity to prepare multiple dosas at a single time - makes it a Snail Paced Service. Buffer time and loads of patience is a must.
But everything compensates in front of these amazing dosas.

We wanted to hogg on south indian cuisine specially dosa. So we thought of going to Narayan dosa. It was a weekend the place was already crowded but we managed to get a seat. They have end varieties of dosa, which makes one person wonder which one to try first
We ordered-
Chilli cheese paneer dosa (jain)
it took nearly 10minutes to place our order & another 20mins for our dosa to arrive.
The sight of dosa was delicious. It was served hot with coconut chutney, inside it has stuffing of green bell pepper, cottage cheese & tomato. The taste of dosa was sweet because of tomato sauce which we din't liked. Otherwise it had perfect taste of paneer n cheese inside.
As we were left with bhaji we ordered
Sada Dosa- to complete the previous one. It dosa was awesome & had typical taste of south indian cuisine. Coconut chutney was spicy & good to taste.

Amazing dosas and especially the paneer chilly dosa is a major go. We tried onion tomato utthapam, butter sada dosa and obviously paneer chilly dosa.
The crispy, buttery drool wothy dosas are wafer thin and evenly cooked with aromatic flavors covering the whole base. The taste envelopes your mouth almost instantly, that too without burning a hole in your pocket. 😋 the only con for this place is that there are space constraints as in the seating area isn't very comfortable apart from this there's nothing to complain about. Narayan Dosa has become a must visit for a quick snack, when in the area! It’s falls in our path through the week for a lot of our activities (and by we, I mean my family and I). This was probably my umpteenth visit here and we had:

Jain Mysore Masala Dosa
A quick overview of the place - they have their shop - small, linear and rectangular but no seating. Hence it’s as good as street food. You have to stand and eat (or in your car) but then that’s the beauty of it. Moderately hygienic I’d say.
Coming to the dosas - they have lots of variety (and a separate section in the menu for Jain dosas) but my cult classic of all time is the Dhaniya Sada Dosa. I tried this for the first time years ago, because of my father and I haven’t stopped eating it since. Even if I’m eating a heavier Dosa like their Paneer Chilly or Schezuan Masala, I have to end with the Dhaniya Sada. It’s like my dessert dosa!
As for the Mysore Masala Dosa, I thought it was just too much tomato for me! But you can’t stop eating it either ways. That’s the beauty of Narayan Dosa.
They serve their dosas with 2-3 types of chutneys and they are absolutely delicious! You have to try it, to believe it.

This is a small joint in a small lane on Hughes road. I've had some of the best Dosa's here. The chutney that they serve is also delicious. One of the good things is that they are jain friendly so it's easy for my jain friends to fill up their tummies. The dhania-mirchi-cheese is one of my favorites. Must try.

Narayans offers one of the best dosas. The panner chilly dosa and the Mysore masala dosa are amazing. If you're ever seeking for some comfort food, this is the place to head without a second thought!
Nice place to eat street dosas in south Mumbai. We ordered butter dads dosa, Mysore masala and paneer chilli cheese dosa which certainly was the highlight of the night. We went there on a Friday evening and was very very busy. They have a very small place to sit most for 2 people, but have to pass through some 5 dosa pans at the entrance, still better option sometimes to sit and eat in the summer.
I have had dosas at mithibai college too and feel they are much better in taste against Narayans. But for south Bombay it is certainly the best and also value for money.
This place is Truly a hidden gem unknown to many and true to its title its hidden in a corner next to mama Mia at opera house delicious dosas and their signature chutney seating arrangements sucks.. like kitchen comes first then the seats... first time seen something like this would come here again to try out their dosas
This is a small place located under French bridge next to mama Mia. If you are looking for some super awesome dosa then just get to this place right now. Though this places is known for the variety of dosa's but my personal favorite is butter dosa & cheese dosa and the first bite would just make you forget everything. The only issue with this place is that it does not have any seating arrangements and to add your woes there is hardly any parking space.

One of the finest Dosa available here. Quality excellent, Quality great. I have been having at Narayan since over 15 years .. they have changed places for their however the Quality remains same and just fantastic.. The original is the Charni Road and Gowalia Tank, rest are fake.
The place is small and cozy. The service was really fast and the staff were pleasant and humble. The price range is pocket-friendly. It was worth visiting this place.
BEST DOSA PLACE ON PLANET EARTH! I've had Narayan dosa since the last 10 years and I've not once had a complaint or problem. Love the food. No dosa will disappoint but my current favourite is Paneer Chilli Dosa!🤌🏻😭
It is a small place with 4 tables .. The place was quite good.. We ordered paneer chilly cheese dosa... It was dam yummy just loved their gravyy it was so tasty.. Also tried their Chinese dosa... It was also good... But i did not like it especially... Also tried their sada dosa.. Which was okies.. Rates are little high... As compared.. The staff is also good❤
