Had ordered in from here for a family dinner of 5 and we ended up ordering more than what we could finish cause their quantity is very reasonable.
We ordered a veg handi, paneer makkhanwala, veg biryanis and an assorted bread basket.
The food was good and it felt as if the food did not have any soda or any artificial colouring which is why it went pretty well with the tummy.
It was a good meal !
We ordered machurian starter , veg batli main course and some kulcha. Food was really good. Machurian was perfect . Main course was equally tasty. We were satisfied with the food quality .
A really good pure vegetarian restaurant which serves alcohol. We indeed don’t find many such restaurants. The food they serve is truly delicious and worth drooling for. The staff is very cooperative and helpful. The ambience is good. A perfect place to go with family.
Tasty food. We had north Indian cuisine. This restaurant also serves Chinese cuisine and mocktails.
Ambience and service is very good. Especially recommended for family outing.
Their green chutney and veg baltiwala is my favourite.

North Indian food is my favourite at this place .service is quick and they handle customers very politely.
Quality and quantity is always maintained even though it is over crowded
A premium vegetarian restaurant in Vile Parle West with great range of food and Alcoholic beverages in their menu. Prices at the restaurant are higher than other restaurants in the area, but the prices are justified as the quality of infrastructure, service and food is superior as compared to other Vegetarian Restaurant.
Good ambience, very good food but bit expensive. Ordered for cream of almond soup, roasted kichiya papad with masala, palak chat, cheese corn ball, all were good. Then for main course had paneer mushrooms masala, naan, garlic naan and laccha parotha. Also tried paneer in black pepper sauce, was good. But thought the rotis were over the top expensive. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Veg family restaurant around the corner in vile parle. We went on a Saturday night, crowd was less. We were seated immediately. We started by ordering :
Tomato and manchow soup: both were served hot and were delicious.
Paneer kurkure: we had pictured it differently. Here, the paneer was marinated in tikka masala and was served with papad crushed on top. Must try!
Dal makhani, baked veg and paneer tikka masala gravy: the food was lip smacking! The service was quick and staff was courteous too. Great place for a family dinner!
Overall :4/5

Overall Best for family and I love the food and quality.
I mostly come here with my family.we enjoyed the overall good.paaner quality is too good.
Me and friends thought we should try a new place. We found grasshopper nearby.
From the first glance we thought we were in luxury hotel. We were quite surprised never expected the interior or the Ambience to be this good.
The people at the service greeted us and directed us towards the table to sit.. They were a veg restaurant and they had quite the varieties of food. It took a little time for us to select.
We decided and ordered veg kofta, paneer chilli, daal rice and masala papad.
The waiter brought the food one by one as we wished. First the starter paneer chilli then veg kofta and lastly daal rice. As we were mesmerised by the Ambience we were intrigued by the taste and quality of food.
We were very happy for the food and services that we received.

Been here since childhood, the ambience & food is pretty much the same... Good place for Pure Vegetarians... Good food & Good service.... Love coming here again and again...
Grasshopper one of the premium veg restaurant with bar. Enjoyed the food alot. Ordered Khichiya masala papad, Chana Mirchi, Dry Manchurian in starters, all were good except in Khichiya the taste was missing. In main course ordered paneer tikka masala and mix vegetable garden of 2 gravies. Both were amazing and in roties ordered kulchas that were also soft and good. In rice ordered dal Khichadi that was also amazing and finally in desert took malai kulfi that was cherry on the cake. Overall great experience except for the Khichiya.
Must try the Chana mirchi.

Very good food, good service and average ambience.
Serves good tasty food, portion size is good.
Gives impression of 90's restaurant and can be tried once.
Price wise is OK.
Great place for veg lovers for delicious food. Satisfaction is guaranteed. The staff and the seniors are quite polite and they always walk extra mile to ensure that the customer is happy. Gets crowded on weekends.
I have been visiting this place for more than 10 years now and I must say the restaurant has really maintained the quality of food. The menu is pretty standard for us over here. Virgin Pinacolada / Screwdriver. Two starters- babycorn crispy and paneer shanghai, followed by punjabi main course (veg kadai/kranti, baked vegetable, veg amritsari and rotis/kulchas). Ambiance is great with most of the walls decorated with wallpapers related to the name of the restaurant. Staff is terrific. Its a great family place and a perfect option for someone looking for veg + alcohol combination.
Cosy little place with good ambience. Food served is good and service is prompt in peak hours too. Menu has good options to choose from. Do try dal fry, crispy vegetables, khichia papad and dum aloo...good place for vegetarian food.
Been here quiet many times ! Pure vegetarian restaurant ! Serves amazing Punjabi food . Take it starters main course or desserts . Service is a bit slow but worth the wait .

Delicious food.. From soup to main course everything is tasty. Must visit recommend. Punjabi food is a must try. Especially cheese garlic naan and Kashmiri Naan.
Visited this place today for dinner with Ameya Dandekar, Veena Oak and other family members and had a great time.
We had the following
Masala papad - 2/5
We had to return the papad which were served first as they were soft and soggy. They changed and got us the new ones which were as they are supposed to be nice and crispy.
Lasooni paneer-3/5
Soft paneer sauted with garlic it was a good dish
Stuffed mashroom tikka -5/5
Barbequed mashrooms stuffed with cheese and veggies. A must try dish.
Veg baltiwala and Veg amritsari 4/5
Different cuts of vegetables served in red gravy. Both the subjis were good.
Jeera rice and dal takdka- 4/5
Boondi raita -3/5
They have very limited options for dessert. They just have gulab jamun , kulfi, ice cream. We had some ice cream before we left.
The food is delicious and the service is good but the prices are on a higher side. It's a pure veg restaurant but it does serve liquor, the rates of which are high.

-:LOCATION & INFO:-
The restaurant's situated In Vile Parle near the Juhu Airport on the V.P. Road, diagonally opposite the SVC Bank..
-:AMBIENCE:-
An Ambience which is most suited for families & friends alike..A sort of dim lighted Veggie Rest-O-Bar with paintings all around with focus lights..A nice & cute looking water fall in the center..The tables all well placed & quite comfortable to sit on..The place is so very quiet unless it is crowded..
-:DRINKS:-
BLUEBERRY COOLER MOCKTAIL (5/5): If it has to be a mocktail which can cool you down totally, it has to be a Blueberry drink..The smoothest & refreshing cooler of all times..A MUST-TRY!
MAI TAI (5/5): A Cocktail consisting of Orange Curacao, Fresh Lime Juice, White Rum & Ice cubicles..A pretty strong flavour of White Rum which could give you a nice & smooth kick..A MUST-TRY!
-:FOOD:-
PANEER BUTTER MASALA (4.5/5): A recommendation from a friend..Turned out pretty nice..A buttery gravy which is a classic & with the Butter Rotis it was pretty perfect!
BUTTER ROTI (4.5/5): Hot & easy to tear, the Butter Rotis went pretty well with the Paneer Butter Masala..
-:SERVICE:-
The Service couldn't have been better..Staff was attentive, polite & quick on their feet..

In short a must go place..
Its a great Restro located in a quite area of Vile Parle and its good for a dine out with your loved ones.
Liked the food taste here as well as the Ambience.
The restro is bit small in space hence it remains crowded during Dinner time.
Recommendation would be Paneer Tikka.
Really descent restaurant..Food served is really good.. ambience is nice...nice place to dine out with your family...Service is a little slow but the staff is polite!!!
Been here many times with family. Cosy and a quiet location in Parle. Interior always soothes you. Palak soup is really good and also their breads. Visited yesterday after a long time but wasn't surprised to see the quality intact. Great food...balanced taste..😁
This is a very good restaurant in terms of taste and service. It is reasonable in terms of pricing. Malai kofta at grasshopper is a must have. They have maintained their taste since years.
I will say you can definately count on this restaurant if you are willing to enjoy tasty punjabi food in Vile Parle
Good food. Good ambience. One of the few places in Mumbai which is pure veg and has bar! Ordered paneer something (it's not in the name) and it was so soft and rotis were nice.
Superb place for having a dinner, a must try place in vile parle west. It's a restaurant thats being in the business since so many years and since late 1990's this place was known as a posh restaurant it had amazing ambience all these years. They serve great food, awesome ambience, quick service, pricing a bit on the higher side but its worth as it has great crowd always. Have been here many times being living in vile parle and my school just a minute away from it.Food: 4/5, Ambience: 5/5, Pricing: 3/5, Repeat Quotient: 4/5. Service: 4/5.
Perfect place for Family Dine-outs.
Must try Paneer Tikka Dry, Hara Bhara Kebab, Manchow Soup, Dal Makhani and Cheese Naan!
This is the ultimate meal! ♥️
You get amazed when u come from Delhi. And get even better North Indian food in Mumbai.
The taste, variety and ambience are very good. Little expensive.
We tried kadhai paneer, tomato soup, rice and dal.
Excellent food.
Nice family restaurant.
Ambience-Normal Indian restaurant

Quantity and service and price- 4/5
A good place to visit if you want to go for good Punjabi, India food
It's a great family restaurant!
I'm never disappointed with anything I've ordered here!
Recommendations:
Pappad roll: these baby rolls are just delicious! Very few restaurants serve this these days! It's a simple dish to be honest, aloo masala is stuffed inside a pappad which rolled and deep fried. But it's never too oily and it has right amount of crispiness of fried pappad with fulfilling aloo stuffing.
Sprout soup: it's just too good. One of my favorites! A must try!
Veg Baltiwala: this subzi is literally served in small balti, it's different than the mundane subzis! Finely chopped vegetables in tomato gravy!
All in all if I'm ever confused and don't want to experiment with other restaurants, this is the place I visit!
2017 JUL 31We used to go regularly to the old Grasshopper. After the management changed, we skipped it for many years. In 2017 FEB, we revisited with some guests from UK, and had an over all good dining and hospitality experience.Last evening, we went easy for diner, and found it already busy.Starters, etc., were good, but when we saw the Khulcha, and Garlic Naan, we were quite shocked. The Khulacha was like a Maida Papad,so thin, and the Garlic Naan also like a Maida Garlic Papad, again so thin.We expect Khulchas to be fluffed, and Naan also with a bit of body.Did not take up the matter with the restaurant then, because we did not want to spoil our mod, but some how, this has put us off.The gravies of the Mushroom Masala and Dum Aloo Punjabi were almost the same, and had more gravy than the Mushrooms, and Dum Aloo. Will give it another visit to see that it was a chance off day for the Chef
Food is great only veg restaurant cocktails and mocktails are awesome and soups are good too specially the sprout soup ambience is quite okay it's quite an old restaurant service wise is quite good too.
Really good food... But it does not have variety of cuisines only Indian and Chinese ...but the taste is good..we ordered Indian food with 2 starter 2 vegetables and couple of Indian bread with some mocktail which costs around 2500 for 5 ppl
Fab just try it u won't every regret n u will always love to come here ... I just love this place, it's lovely, owner is southindian, but they know that most of their customers are guju, it's a fantastic place..................................................................
This around two decades old pure veg restaurant is in bylanes of Vile Parle just near nanavati hospital in lane opposite pawan hans.... Its a decent place having very comfortable seatings n decor is also decent good inside .. From outside this place looks like bit old fashioned n I will suggest management to bring bit changes to it to pull more crowd in.. Also they need to fix wall colour repair thing at one/two places... We were here on Monday evening n even though it was weekday it was almost pack.. We started with Paneer shanghai in starters n it was lovely.. Paneer was nice soft n taste wise it was delicious .. Highly recommended to try this out here.. Had veg crispy n it was also nice crispy n tasty.. In main course we ordered veg garlic naan n butter roti along with Paneer baltiwala n chill milli sabzi... Butter roti was OK.. I always prefer having tandoori roti with Punjabi cuisine but tandoori roti is not served out here.. Better opt for garlic naan which was lovely.... Paneer baltiwala was nice n tasty .. Chilli milli sabzi was OK... Can be avoided... Quantity of starters n sabzi was good for max 4 people.. They serve drinks out here at decent rate.. Kingfisher beer big bottle is served for Rs 320 n along with it free chakhna was also served which includes peanuts, cheeselings n papad.. Totally worth.. Service was nice n prompt.. Even food was served in good 10/15 mins after placing order.. Overall I had decent experience. Give it a try.

One of my favourite places to have yummy Punjabi food. Located close to Pawan Hans this resto has a familial ambience with great staff service and thr quality has been maintained all this while. My fav picks would be the Minestrone soup , paneer tikka ( even the kurkure is good) and the Veg Balti . A treat for veg foodies. Seating is ground plus basement and they serve alcohol too.
It's my all time favourite restaurant, delicacies served with love and some special moments with family makes it a perfect dinner place! I have been here so many times. Punjabi food is especially my favourite. The food is really good and punjabi dishes are a must for whoever visits here. 🍽
This review was due from a long time. Grasshopper is one of the best vegetarian restaurant in the vicinity.
My personal favourite at grasshopper is ‘the Palak Manchurian’. Though I can’t deny that all their food is equally delicious.
The staff is extremely humble and courteous.
We have received the best service each time we have visited this restaurant.
Keep up the good work!

we visited on 15th April 2017, like the ambiance we ordered the Dry Veg. manchurian & Veg. crispy for starter, for main course we ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Makai Simla Mirch,Veg. Kolhapuri, Dal Kichidi, Dal Tadka, Butter roti, Kulcha,Lachadar Parotha, Masala Papad, Roasted Papad, Soft Drinks & Fresh Lime Soda, Nice interior, the Staff is co-oprative, they help you to suggest the food., Its value for Money, we recommend our relatives & friends to visit the out late & enjoy the food
A proper place for a gujju .. pure veg restaurant. If you are a gujju than this would be the best place .. as everything will have a touch of sweetness. Had tomato soup .. was too sweet , finally after adding all the salt and pepper at the table i saw the crowd and understood.. SUU CHEE , MAJA MAAA .. bt this didnt stop here i went ahead to order malai kofta even though being warned by the steward that it would be sweet , it turned to be sweet for a gujju .. and i was a maru ... except salt everything was good .. and waise bhi guju ke liye namak bhi mithi hoti hai 😋😋😋.. kem choo
The Gem from Old School a great place for dinner with your family and friends they have a starter with sprouts which is just out of this world It's serves good variety of Punjabi and Mughlai dishes. It's a must visit.
Went to grasshopper with family on sunday for lunch.. one of the go to restaurants if you stay in the vile parle santacruz area...we had to wait for 10 mins as restaurant was full.. grasshopper offers north indian and chinese...we ordered hara bhara kebab for starters.. it was well cooked and tasty.. but it was little overpriced.. then for main course we ordered veg kolhapuri and paneer makhanwala.. both were good.. and then we ordered veg hakka noodles... this was the best among all the dishes.. slim noodles and well cooked.. ambience is also nice.. giving a slight forest feel with a small waterfall in the centre.. overall good to go with family for a decent meal!
I loved the ambience😍
Its an old place from what i have heard but visited this place an year ago and this place has won my heart.
Great punjabi food ,great service, a good place to go with family, serves punjabi and chinese food
Have some games for kids outside
Try once with your parents they will love it.. not all places are loved by our parents and grant parents but this surely will win their hears
Grasshopper......one of the oldest and the most popular restautant from the earlier times in vile parle west. The location is peaceful. Away from all the noise and commotion of the typical parle roads. Its a pure veg restaurant so a good choice for the vegetarians. The menu has loads n loads of choice. As far as i can remember this is the restaurant that had first introduced the rumali roti to the world. I maybe wrong but i surely have eaten my first rumali roti right here. The sabzis are really tasty and the place can be termed as a semi fine dine. When it had opened it was the elite class fine dine. Over the years its lost its fame. But fortunately the food is still very good and lives upto ur expectations. The paneer in various gravies (tried so many) is good and also tried the veg kolhapuri which is good. The quality n quantity are good. Overall a great place for some good indian food.
This place is a very good example of good service.. excellent food, the staff is cordial and kind. We were given the best service I have ever experienced.
Well done :)

It is an extremely famous restaurant in Vile Parle West. Situated close to the SV road and Nanavati Hospital, Grass Hopper is a place to cherish taste of authentic Punjabi food. Each of their delicacy is creatively crafted. A MUST VISIT in Vile Parle.
This is an excellent veg place..Although I am writing a review today have been visiting this place since 10 years.awesome food and great variety.Would highly recommend this place for any vegetarian foodie!
Very good food quality....delicious food.....loved chunda nd chutney (given complimentary) just need to fasten a bit in speed of service....
Old place, older than myself, so I have fond memories of coming here as a kid. The fact that I still call for food from here speaks volumes about their quality.
My staple here is the veg baltiwala with butter roti followed by their awesome dal khichdi.
If you're in the area craving for some Indian cuisine go here without hesitation.
Very good ambience and service. Very good pure vegetarian restaurant. Food was also very good. Dal tadka, rice and veg garden was very good.
Was looking for a decent pure vegetarian place in the suburbs for authentic North Indian dishes. And I guess I found it. Nice place and decent decor. Yumilicious Reshmi parantha. The dal makhani and their vegetable amritsari exceeded my expectations. It's a must visit if you are pure vegetarian !
A pure Veg Indian Fine dining - a very old restaurant in Vile Parle. Nice decor and ambience.
Authentic taste and maintaining a pinch of Gujarati flavor in its offering. Chutney blended with curd and Chundo ( famous Gujarati pickle) makes your beginning to the lunch / dinner awesome.
Few of my favorite dishes remains - Tandoori Rotis, Veg Balti and Dal Khicdi - we normally maintain same menu - though repetitive but we enjoy a lot.
It's a restaurant one should never miss to cone. Good ambience.. Have decent enuf choices of main course. Roti naan were yummy... Paneer baltiwala was very good. Only thing.. In Paneer baltiwala quantity was bit less then expected. Will give 4.5 stars to the restaurant.
Actually I was kid when I had been to this restaurant and had celebrated my bday in this hotel. The menu was chosen by of my close friend and I had no clue about the food. But when I went to hotel I found the ambiance superb, the food amazing, service was good and yeah I had totally enjoyed in that restaurant actually.
What a place... Good ambiance, well mannered staff and great food... Cheese items are so yummy, panner and garlic naan is a must try... Definitely a must visit
Food is nice , ambience is good. This is pure veg family restaurant. We ordered Paneer baalti..... Taste is nice ....... They need improvement in there Roti/ chapati {breads)..... Bcoz its to thin when they serve it will be too hard immediately. I don't know how they will improve that but improvement is required.

It's a great family get together place . It only serves punjabi ..
Pluses - good food which moderately priced
Minuses - getting a table on Sunday's is very difficult
Grasshopper in vile parle very old n well known place . Saturday and Sunday it's packed n waiting r dre for hours the place is good is serving n punjabi food is awesome n hara bhara kabab r very good in taste...... try out
Moderate vegetarian place ideally suited for indian palate taste buds. Its layout is a bit tight and limited. Food is ok but they customize well to your needs. Like the service which is business like and to the point. Pricing is reasonable and vfm. Recommended try and add to one's list.
I've been visiting this restaurant for over 7-8 years! I believe this is one of the good restaurants serving North Indian cuisines in the areas. They also serve Chinese, but I'm not a fan of their Chinese cuisine.
Things I ordered on my last visit:
Veg Munchow Soup - Good
Veg Sweetcorn soup - average
Veg Hara Bhara Kebab - Good
Baby Corn Chilly - average ( It was sour)
Veg Afghani - Average ( It's usually good though)
Veg Baltiwala - Good
all the breads were good! The chilly cheese naan was very good.
Their In-house chutneys' are my personal favourite and their taste hasn't changed over the years. The service is also good. Grasshopper has remained constant in delivering good food experience for more than a decade and that's why I recommend it :)
Good place for North Indian food. Big fan of the Bhindi Raita, it's really amazing and a must try. :)Ambience is decent. As they don't accept reservations and if you plan to visit on weekend make sure you reach a little early or you may have to wait.
Good Ambiance...Awesome food probably the best Indian Cuisine around the area.
A must try Panner Amritsari with assorted basket of breads...
We went here for lunch on Sunday. Food was excellent. This is all vegetarian restaurant. They cater for Jain food here. The service was very good. I would recommend this for good food.
It's one of my favorite family restaurant been visiting this place since 25 years.
The food is amazing and service is great.
Located near nanavati hospital.
The food is good along with decent ambiance . They said they have the same interiors since the last 35yrs.
We had garlic naan , paneer tikka masala and chaas
Garlic naan- 4/5
Paneer tikka masala- 5/5
Chaas-4/5
Actually we ordered chaas 2 times
First time it was great, i dont know second time what they did. It was totally blant.
They have a complementary chutney which is made of spring onion and garlic that was too good. That was the highlight of our luch....
One of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Mumbai. Its very packed on weekends so make sure you go early. Good choice of Indian and Chinese food. They serve alcohol. Parking is a bit difficult to find. Place is not very big but quick service and amazing food.
The food is sooo yummy and fresh ! Its a pure vegetarian restaurant with a very nice and cozy ambience. We tried manchurian, aloo tikka subzi and veg kadhai with assorted rotis. Everything tasted good. If you're in vile parle area , it's a must try
Ambience is nice, service is good, veg dum biryani was delicious must try, in starters papad roll and paneer saatay were tasty, didn't like chilly milly kabab though it ws not cooked properly...giving 4 stars as I enjoyed my dinner in grasshopper...good option for vegetarians👍
Visit this place for good service & to partake the wonderful 'chundo'!
Food was good Piping hot and tasty atmosphere definitely needs a change looks old
Good Dine in place .Nitin is the person who has turned the place 360 .
Polite and humble staff, good food and amazing warm welcome
One of my parents best restaurants. Reminds me of 90’s Phir teri kahani yaad ayi. Amazing food, great ambience, humble staff.
