Hidden in the bylanes of the art district, this bistro is a wonderful place for a yummy meal. The Mediterranean feel to the place is to the point and very refreshing. The food is awesome and the staff is very hospitable. Had an awesome lunch and will certainly be back soon.

Aka Bistro- Kalaghoda ❖ My Recommendations- • Coffee Mojito • Chicken Yakitori • Fish n Chips • Crepes (Any flavours) ❖ Location- Located in the tiny lane near kalaghoda, this area is flooded with really popular restaurants. (4.5/5) ❖ Ambience- Really really impressive interiors to be honest. The Refreshing feel which you get as soon as you enter inside, wins your heart. Once you enter you will Get the steps which leads to the 1st floor sitting, main or maximum seating is on the ground floor though. They have kept 1st floor seating thinking of the big group of say 15 people. Ground floor is big enough and each table separates other table with good amount of the space in between. Each window of the restaurant is decorated really nicely. Table set up has plates, cutlery, tissues and yes a flower which is kept in the thread cone which was super impressive. Lighting was bright enough. Reallyloved the interiors and the feel of the place. (5/5) ❖ Food and Beverage- The kalaghoda area caters to really mix group of people. You will get different food in each restaurant and I guess it caters to all the cuisines/types of the food you looking for. Here they serve continental cuisine mainly Italian, Mexican and Spanish. Menu is not really lengthy but got few of the best and well known dishes in it crepes are one of the rare dishes which they have focussed which was nice to see. (4.5/5) • COFFEE MOJITO (Mocktail)- A superb mocktail to start with made of espresso shot, orange slices, lemon juice, muddled mint and sugar syrup. Really superb drink with good balancing of all the ingredients by bartender.(5/5) • PINK CHIFFON (Mocktail) - Mocktail made from pomegranate, passion fruit juice, cranberry juice, hint of kaffir leaves and fizz of soda. (4/5) • YELLOW MUSLIN(Mocktail)- a non alcoholic versionof a white wine sangria I felt, orange mango tea decoction with triple sec(Non-alcoholic), hint of coconut, mango syrup and chopped apples.(4/5) • CHICKEN YAKITORI (Small plates) - A Japanese preparation where chicken cubes skewered and marinated with togarashi(Japanese name for red chilli peppers) and sweet and salty sauce. Glaze on the skewers won my heart. It was garnished with juliennes of spring onions and black/white sesame seeds. Best dish of them in this category.(5/5) • FISH TACO(Small plates)- Super crunchy tacos stuffed with fish, siracha mayo, raw mango and ginger.(4/5) • SLOW COOKED LAMB GOULASH(One pot food)- A lamb goulash made with beans, potatoes lamb and served along with the pilaf which was made with chunky chopped mix peppers. Lamb was really less when it comes to the main course portion.(3/5) • FISH n CHIPS(Large Plates)- A must order dish of this category. Fish batter fried and served along with grilled lemon slice, malt vinegar, tartare sauce and bunch of chips. This dish took me back to the days I had fish and chips back in London, perfectly fried fish and malt vinegar. Very few restaurants serve malt vinegar and this size of chips which are authentically perfect I felt.(5/5) • FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE FUDGE CAKE(Desert)- Super delicious and gooey fudge cake made with chocolate and orange and served along with orange syrup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. (4.5/5) • BANANA and NUTELLA CREPE(Dessert) – With egg thin crepe made and stuffed with generous amount of nutella and banana slices along with a swirl of whipped cream. Simply delicious.(4.5/5) ❖ To sum up- Class apart restaurant I must say, one of the very few restaurants has this kind of fresh and extraordinary ambience I must say. I felt Service was little slow to be honest. Food served here gives the perfect value addition to the interiors which are made. Loved that they have limited menu but each dish is served in a correct way. Would love to go for a dinner some day and try few of their other dishes from the menu. Strongly recommended place, must visit. Thank you

I had been here during Kala Ghoda art festival as it was walking distance away from the fest. Amazing ambiance, while entering you get to see this place nicely designed with beautiful color and a artwork installed on the top. Service was at top notch, server were active and used to serve dishes with a very warm smile. Coming towards food all the dishes were nicely presented and cutleries were very good. Let me tell you what I tried : Moctails : Nude Nylon - 4.5/5 Yellow Muslin - 4/5 Shopaholic - (Highly Recommended) 5/5 Appetizers : Fish Tacos (Highly Recommended) - 5/5 Chicken Yakitori - 4.5/5 Broccoli Cakes - 4/5 Fish'n'chips - 4.5/5 Mains : Roast Chicken (Highly Recommended) - 5/5 Slow Cooked Lamb Goulash - 4/5 Hearty Meat Burgers (Highly Recommended) - 5/5 Desserts : Flourless Chocolate Orange Fundge Cake (Highly Recommended) - 5/5 Banana Nutella Crepe - 4.5/5 Overall a lovely place and I would recommend this place for positive vibes, friendly staff and quality food.

AKA Bistro 1900hrs 8th November 2017 AKA Bistro located in lanes of Fort Area has been designed in a beautiful way to have the ground level and a level up. The reason I said it is done in a beautiful way is that the coffee/ mocktails and crepe preparation kitchen has been organized as an open kitchen just underneath the stairs which head to upper clever [Clever move to save space]. The place is quite inviting, they have coffee tins arranged which urges you to check out a couple of coffees or shakes. This place offers a range of Italian, Spanish, European cuisines. Credits to Chef Sahil Narvekar on designing the compact menu. KEY POINTS MENU: They have smartly segmented and incorporated all 3 cuisines in one menu. WHAT SHOULD YOU ASK FOR – Well definitely the coffee & orange Mojito, Chicken Yakitori and not to forget the Huevos Rancheros. Oh yes the Crepe SEATING ARRANGMENTS/DECOR: Comfy chairs so that one can spend good hours. Sipped..!! COFFEE MOJITO Now I was done with the lemon mojito and another fruit mojito. Since it was evening was craving for coffee but a colder version icy one to be precise and then eyes trucked to the coffee mojito. Game point ..!! A shot of coffee in ice with orange juice [Mixed well]. Loved the combo taste that enhances your pallet. Commenced my meals with HUEVOS RANCHEROS Huevos Rancheros is basically a breakfast meal. The traditional baked dish from Mexican farms which I felt was the best since the entire preparation consisted of Refried Beans in tomato chili sauce with eggs, cheddar sour cream fussed in together in the middle topped with chopped Coriander & feta accompanied with Salsa. CHICKEN YAKITORI Yakitori dates back to Japanese cooking wherein chicken marinated tare sauce is skewered. Here the chicken was skewered with sauce which had soy, sweet chili/hoisin sauce, and spring onion. They were absolutely delicious and the meat was juicy and tender. PUMPKIN & GOAT CHEESE RISOTTO Now, this was one heavy risotto, Risotto cooked in pumpkin sauce, Felt as if the rice was a little under however that did not matter. Topped with goat cheese. Flavours were subtle and balanced. SLOW COOKED LAMB GOULASH A small briefing on goulash, it is the stew of the lamb meat and vegetables and powered with spices. Slow cooked meats are my favorite since the juiciness does not evaporate and the meat is tender. Chef has done justice with the lamb, slow cooked to perfection. Accompanied with rice DESERTS APPLE CINNAMON CREPE This is the best crepe I had so far in Mumbai, No Kidding, the best part it is done in front of you[open Kitchen] had the nice cinnamon hit to the apple which complimented the crepe in every way DUO of BAKED YOGURT & FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE ORANGE FUDGE CAKE Loved them but was happy with crepe.! All the best to AKA Bistro..!! Great Job…!! Cheers..!!

As soon as you enter you see this well decorated stairway. There is a boutique on the top floor its called Love from India and its pretty good 🙂. We ordered for the Pumpkin soup which was really good. For starters we ordered brocolli cakes and tofu tacos. The brocolli cakes were really nice and soft, well seasoned and they melted in the mouth. But i was dissapointed with the tofu tacos, it had too much of the Chinese cabbage 😟. For the mains we called for baked mac and cheese and it was amazing, this is a must try, perfectly cooked and perfectly cheesy. For dessert we ordered a Blueberry cheese cake which was awesome and the Creme brule was out of the world due to its combination with the ginger icecream. The staff is extremely polite with prompt service 🙂.

Aka Bistro Situated in the hub of Kalaghoda amidst bustling restaurants , Aka bistro is your modern art interiors goals . I am not exaggerating it but it's a fusion of fashion and food and combined beautifully. As I stepped in, I was mesmerised by the interiors what the place has to offer . There is modern well thought pieces of art everywhere by the window . While magazines are hung by the lamp, different kinds of work like painted dishes, dresses with mingled artificial food cannot go unnoticed. It sums up to a perfect a place for high tea. Every dish on the menu is inspired from a fashion statement. I ordered a pink chiffon for drinks which is a cranberry inspired drink. Then I ordered for falafel . The falafel was so wholesome and fresh , I couldn't help but gobble it down. The sour crepes are served with lot of veggies again serving as a healthy option. I then opted for a burger which was totally yum . They had given a cottage cheese Patty served with fries and sour cream which acted as my indulgent perfect snack. Then I called for blueberry cheesecake. It's great for people who are fond of authentic cheesecake. I am somebody who likes normal cakes more than the cheesecakes. The blueberry component was a bit less in the dish. Overall I browsed along the menu, I had such a lovely time just reading at the variety of dishes they offer. This place is something which gives me the feeling of stepping into an artistic fashion boutique with great food so it's a win-win !

A nice restaurant that serves up some good continental food with some Asian fusion options. I really enjoyed their pasta. They have a breakfast menu and a Jain selection too. The decor is a bit hit and miss, and the staff is quite good.

"Lovely European cuisine, a nice & pleasant ambiance" Located in one of the myriad lanes of Kala Ghoda, is this quaint Café which is named as AKA – Also Known As; it seeks to marry the two passions of its proprietor, Fashion & Food by creating a space to exhibit & retail their in house creations on the top level of the Café. The Café has utilized the high ceiling height properly by creating a mezzanine floor which has some tables and a display of their clothes, there is huge & wide stairway which leads up to it. Both these give you a feel of hugeness of the space they have. They have used a lot of yarn to create a wonderful design from the edge of either side of the stairway to the ceiling where the yarn curves, forms into a spindle over a large iron central piece. They have used frosted / stained glass to enable maximum light in the Café and give it a pleasant feel. The colour tone of the Café is sky blue, white and black which again helps lighten up this place but not too much. MUST HAVE: - MEZZE PLATTER: Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Tzatziki, Toasted Pita bread. - MARINATED ROASTED BELL PEPPERS finely diced were neatly laid on toast with salted capers and topped with Cream Cheese. - BROCCOLI CAKES made like the Turnip cakes but more lighter, fluffier & softer. It was served on a Cherry Tomato Coulis. - FOREST MUSHROOMS ON TOAST, my favourite and needs no more explanation - TOFU TACO – Raw Mango juliennes, Purple Cabbage, Ginger Mayo, Tofu Fritters, Sriracha Mayo, were neatly layered in red taco shell. The slight spice of the Sriracha Mayo was countered nicely by the pungent Ginger Mayo. RATATOUILLE CREPE This difficult to pronounce dish seemed to be a distant French cousin of our own Dosa. Buckwheat Crepe was nicely swirled and served into a triangular shape. The inside was then layered with Zucchini & Eggplant cooked in a tomato based mild gravy. It was served layered with Feta Cheese. VEGETABLE PAELLA This sticky Spanish preparation had a nicel blend of pungency and spice. The pungency was derived from Aioli and the spice from yellow & black pepper. It had a host of vegetables in it as well; Flatbeans, broccoli, bell peppers and Zucchini. It was served with a dollop of cream cheese on top and some dry spice on it. I loved this dish for the varied flavours and the variety of vegetables; a cousin of our desi Dal Khichdi. EGGPLANT RAVIOLI This was a very unique kind of Ravioli I have ever had so far. The Ravioli I have had so far are the one stuffed with spinach or mushroom with cottage cheese and some spices. Length wise cut slices of eggplant were slightly blanched to make them soft, they were then stuffed with an apple mash & pine nuts and rolled into cigar like shapes. They were placed on a bed of Spaghetti and layered with a tangy, spicy & pungent Arabiatta sauce. The sauce was just as it ought to be; PERFECT. COFFEE MOJITO A lovely concoction layered with varied flavours; the strong earthy flavour from the Espresso, freshness from the Mint leaves, a dash of citrus from Lime & Orange and the fizz from the Soda. FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE ORANGE FUDGE CAKE A super delicious Chocolate Fudge cake which is made flourless, a super treat for those with a gluten allergy. It is served with Vanilla Ice-cream and a swirl of Orange syrup. AKA Bistro serves some very nice European cuisine and has some twists by way of some dishes from Asia. The Café is huge and has a very calming and pleasant effect. The service is nice and help is just a question away. If you want to try some food away from the normal Café stuff then head here on the double. Food Quantity – 4/5 Food Quality – 4/5 Ambiance – 4/5 Service – 4/5
