Admist the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, is this ancient and beautifully magnificent place, the Royal Bombay Yacht Club. Traveled back a century and a half while walking through its corridors.

We had come on a medical vacation, and our 20 days here was like staying home away from home , with the most attentive caring staff who made us feel at home completely ❤️. I used to visit this place in passing during my college days and decades later to stay here was dream come true. This yacht club is so well maintained, with little or few flaws to point out! The staff and restaurant food was impeccable! Will be back❤️❤️
I enjoyed a lot of good things about the place with my friends and relatives. The people are eager to help and the overall impression was that of friendliness.
And I am very excited to visit the place again with my loved one very soon.
Beautiful early 20c building with some lovely art nouveau details and magnificent views over the Gateway to India. The building is currently undergoing extensive renovations (as at November 2019) so I'm not sure how easy it is to access the interior but it's well worth trying. The views of the Gateway are from the very top of the building.
In the hustle and bustle of the crowds flocking around the Gateway Of India, tourists and Mumbai residents alike, is the Royal Bombay Yacht Club. Nestled cozily amid huge ancient trees for a canopy is a beautiful architectural wonder. Beautiful rooms, restaurant, convenience store and lovely interiors exuding elegance is how one would describe the Royal Bombay Yacht Club.
It is an astonishing institution. Has been in business since 1868. Their chef is amazing. He made me a Railway Mutton Curry, that was amazing. The staff is extremely kind and attentive.
Royal Bombay Yatch Club is a membership club. To gain access to the club, you need to be a member ot members guest. The structure is a British Raj colonial structure with long corridors, fabulous rooms, dining room, ballroom, etc. However, the food is not quite upto the standard.

Awesome club.... They have many recreational activities along with class restaurant n bar... Sailing is main activity there... They organise sailing race too... Sailing is too good fun... Different experience all together... 😊👌👍

We took the sail boat from the royal yacht club.it was the most beautiful experience! Golden sun and a nice windy day..we sailed for 2 hrs and had an absolute unique experience.
The name itself shows "Royal". Must visit once. Decent place to visit. The outside view is so pleasant that attract you to visit often.
Great food and accommodation in an old Victorian British setting. Right next to Gateway and a bunch of iconic Mumbai landmarks. Upkeep can be better.

A very quaint and old worldly club with EXCELLENT food and Heady cocktails, and today was the FIESTA... a brunch not to be missed....add good music and old friends, and you have the recipé for the Perfect Sunday afternoon

I want to share Royal Bombay Yacht Club is very good performance in our society youngest and other people.
I loved it. The ambience was simple and more peaceful.
The entire place reminds the old British times, like the furniture, the huge ceiling and the great distance from the floor, everything mostly constructed by wood. All this has it's own charm.
Apart from this the food was great and palatable.
Overall i loved the place. 👍💗
