The Masala Miso Roti was FAB !!!! Tawa Paratha is surprisingly HUGE ! the Tawa veg was not bad at all, not sure about being under the best seller for my taste buds. The double dal tadka only had the oil in double quantity but no other tadka, which was a let down. Otherwise I feel this place is so old and trusted you can always feel safe to order from here when it comes to quality !
Visited this place with family ! Its a small & famous place and has many other outlets in mumbai ! Vegetarians would definitely love the food here !

R Bhagat Tarachand is one of the oldest serving restuarants in Mumbai. Almost each and every one in Mumbai knows about Bhagat Tarachand. Apart From R Bhagat Tarachand, They have K Bhagat Tarachand, B Bhagat Tarachand and S Bhagat Tarachand.
I visited this outlet which is situated near Mubadevi. We had visited here during Monday evening. The outlet was packed and waiting was also full. We any how managed to get our seats.
We had ordered Papad Churi first and then we ordered Sarso Ka Saag and Makai ki Roti. All the 3 items were awesome. We also had Chaas and Gajar Ka Halwa. That was good.
I loved the dal khichdi and paneer masala also the thali is what my family enjoyed and relished it quite a bit nice food 🥘
I have been visiting R Bhagat Tarachand for more than 10years and it has never disappointed me or my family. Almost everything on the menu is tasty however my recommendation is Papad Churi, spl. Dal Fry, Paneer Bhurji....To sum up if you are in the area, this is where you stop for lunch. It’s totally worth it
Need to have R Bhagat Tarrachand's food once a while to keep you going. A must visit if you love authentic Indian food. Even the regular dal khichdi is so much better with R Bhagat Tarrachand's tadka !

Things I tried
Special Thali- I absolutely loved the thaali. It consisted of mix vegetable, aloo bindi, paneer tikka, tadka dal,gulab jamun,raita, ghee rotis,chass and pulao. All the dishes were super yummy, perfect in taste and flavours. Rightly spiced. Must try .
Dal bhaati- authentic rajashtani dish. With moong dal, baati, ghee,gud,lasun chutney. Churma and dal baati is eaten togther and goes well. Relished the dish.
Kulfi rabdi- kulfi topped with rabdi. Not to sweet. It was perfect in taste. Absolutely loved it and best way to end meal.
Also try their new sabzi which is must try. Baigan bharta and mirchi masala. Its flavourful and one time try for sure.
Don't forget to have chass lassi and papad churi.
I have a list of local restaurants I must visit! R Bhagat Tarrachand has it all. As I visit Zaveri Bazar more often. Tasty dishes, ample servings, reasonable pricing, nice staff and even delivery. I have not found a decent food joint since I have been there. Papad churi and paneer tikka are my favourite starters. Tried almost all kind of dishes and all taste good.

I visited this place for dinner. The place is little crowded. I had Papad churi that was crispy and good in taste but i suggest diced onion should also be included. We ordered
Rice special thali that included 4-5 curries desert 3 chapati and rice and was awesome.
Baigan bharta fry and dal double tadka were delicious. Missi roti was also good.
For dessert I had kulfi rabdi which is a must try. Service was quick and food was also served quickly.
It's incredible. Especially the finger licking Thali's. The quality is incomparable and the price is so reasonable given the high quality of the food!
Had an amazing experience at the place and the food was lip smacking . You can't miss the Dal Batti which has this authentic Rajasthani flavour

Whenever the craving for a good and wholesome thali crops up in my head, there is only one place I want to be!
That is but of course, R Bhagat Tarachand!
Known to serve us since years now, they have a delectable variety of vegeterian dishes and thalis as well.
Recently during my visit I devoured their special thali , chaas, khichiya papad churi (you must try this!) and their dewani handi!
For dessert I could not choose and hence had both; their gulab jamun as well as their aamras!
Over all I was satisfied and so were my taste buds!
Would recommend everyone to try out their yummy food that is made with so much love!

I've been visiting Bhagat Tarrachand eversince I was a baby. I've always loved the food they serve! No matter how wide awake you are, after eating their food you get super drowsy! I once asked the manager, he said the chef add this secret ingredient called affection for all! Can you believe it? A very vibrant place with a very cordial staff and AMAZING FOOD! Fun fact, they serve chaas in glass bottles!

I always have a best experience when I vist this restaurant. Me and my family prefer this restaurant as we like it's food and the best service provided by them .
While the food is really good here, Dal Bati is one of the best you can have. Give your food an amazing start with Papad Churi. You can even have a kulcha here with with any dish of your choice. The overall taste is really good.
P.S. - Don't you forget to have some Chaas with Dal Bati here.

Do try the Deluxe Thali here . Though it is limited it fills your tummy completely. The quantities for the sabzis are really good . The soft desi ghee chapatis are excellent. Even though the quantity of Pulav/ Rice should be more , you are almost stuffed by the time it arrives . Also the Chaas is excellent here , goes without saying . 370 bucks for this thali is a great deal !

Best best for veggie lovers. We had been there on a week day for dinner. Ordered papad Churi, Sev tamatar, dal fry, paneer makhani & beer Chas. Yummy food & polite staff. We enjoyed Sev tamatar & paneer makhani. Even my daughter who normally prefers non veg food while dinning out enjoyed the food.
Awesome authentic Indian food is served here.. we had Dal batti, thali and moong Dal ka halwa.. they serve unlimited food and butter milk makes the meal complete.

It's little bit confusing to reach there..But we managed to get there but we found lot of crowd waiting for there number. But they really managed well to get us seat as early as possible.
And it was worth waiting bcoz after that the food we ordered was totally mouthwatering and tasty.

Papad churi : very very crispy with midl Gujarati spices and brown caramelized onions sprinkee over it. (Recommend)
Bhendi Fry: crunchy Deep fried aukra with spices sprinked over it
Tomato Sec sabji and paneer Tikka masala: tomato sev sabji is pure Gujarati style and must try sabji over here alone with that we ordered panner Tikka masala with was typical North Indian dish which was also good. But we recommend here to order Gujarati sabji bcoz it's very tasty.
Butter fulka, butter makai ki roti: both were served hot and so soft that fulka with melted butter felt like heaven.
Alu paratha : this was also served hot and topped with big butter cubes but taste was ok.
Chass bottle (recommend): Full chass bottle can serve four with it's creamy texture and pure butter milk..u can't just stop in one glass. Ur mind will keep asking for more and more..awesome butter milk u will ever had.

This place is one of the oldest in Mumbai and among other Bhagat Tarachand this has the better thali than others. Though we had to wait for an hour but the thali was super amazing. Worth for the cost.

A famous place in zaveri bazar market which is a very populated place in south mumbai. There are many other good options but this one is promising for a decent indian meal at not much expensive price.

The chapatis were so soft and tasty you just can't stop finishing them all... The mutter aloo and paneer subzi was also good.. The only aloo subzi could have been better or replaced by matki or any pulses.. Overall good job and keep the faith going strong.

Disclaimer- This Review is specifically for Dessert at Bhagat Taarachand. We all know that the food there is great. But i tried something Fusion in Dessert, Warm Gulaab jamun and Cold Rabdi ( you have to order both) mix them and eat! Trust me it is deadly combination.

2) We heard alot about papad churi ..so given a try and ofcourse again nothing can beat there papad churi
3) Bottle chass - Served fresh and quality chass in kingfisher bottle... love the quality and quantity

This outlet of R Bhagat Tarachand is our favourite place to visit since our childhood days. It has been So many years now but one thing never changed and that is the quality and taste of the food we always savour out here.
Here are the following dishes which you have to try whenever you visit this place .....
Daal Tadka :
Now days also referred to as Dal Fry . It is the most luscious daal you will ever try . The Tadka Floating on top of daal gives a brilliant touch to the daal making it super delicious .
Paneer Tikka Masala :
A Delicious gravy to go with butter Chapati and a dip in daal.
Butter Chapati :
Now this is a must try when out here for sure . Hot Chapati topped with Cubes of favorite Amul Butter.
Chaas Bottle :
Chaas is Kaachii Beer and they Epitomize this by serving in Beer Bottle .
We love coming to this place again and again .

The famous picks were ordered like gujju chaas, sev tomato, pav bhaji and was satisfying but not like the best.
To surprise our appetite we even went ahead with thali and punjabi choices which were severed and tasted really good.
The pick choices would be Limited thali, sev tomato and punjabi with eyes shut if don’t want to waste time reading the menu.

If you are looking for a good veg restaurant near zhaveri bazar or mumbadevi then bhagat tarachand is the place.
Located near to mumbadevi temple there are 4 outlets b bhagat tarachand,r bhagat tarachand,original one and one more.
So we tried the r bhagat tarachand this timer around as i had visited the original before.
The place is very small maximum of 8 tables in non ac section.But the service is good and the waiters are quick at your service.
Firstly when you see the menu you can see a dessert menu which has kulfi,rabdi,gulab jamun,moong dal halwa etc.this you dont find in the original bhagat tarachand outlet.Hence i am giving extra 0.5 rating for this spread.

This one is a starter which takes time to prepare as said by the person but the wait was worth it.Hot kababs served with chatni and sauce with cashews over each tikki.8 pieces are served with green peas and its a good starter if you are bored eating paneer.

We tried their special thali:-
3 Ghee chapati which just makes your day as its served hot and goes perfectly well with any food.
Paneer masala,aloo mutter are 2 sabjis which are good and thats the combination of normal spices of aloo mutter with punjabi style paneer masala.
Aloo bhendi was a dry sabji which had crispy bhendi fried with spices and i must say it was amazing.
Dal fry and veg pulav:-
Any person who has been to bhagat tarachand or any outlet they know any dal is served with their standard tadka of butter and onion.The combination is good considering pulav was decent or you have a option of rice along with roasted papad.
Chass and gulab jamun:-
This is their patent 2 dishes which taste same anywhere you eat in mumbai.Hot gulab jamun and thick chass served with masala.The perfect way to end your thali.
We also ordered rabdi separately and i must say it was just yumm.Thick tasty rabdi served in a bowl is just heacen for all people having a sweet tooth.
Overall verdict:-
I have been to 4 different outlets of bhagat tarachand so far.Vashi( koparkhairane),sanpada(near apmc),2 at mumbadevi.If you are a person who likes classic thali you can visit any of these places as all serve thalis and are more or less same.
But if you wanna try ala carte then i would suggest one at koparkhairane as they have a good spread also variety in dessert.In mumbadevi side this r bhagat tarachand has a good spread as compared to original hotel.
So for all VEG food lovers R bhagat tarachand is thr place you should not miss😀
Amazing vegetarian food. We went for a casual weekend lunch and visited this place with no pre plans. The service is ok ..however the food quality is simply great. I am a hardcore non veg lover but yet I truly admit I enjoyed eating in this veg restaurant.
The hyderbadi biryani was simply wow....and their very own concept of serving ' bottle chass' was also a nice idea. & Their Rabri is simply divine.
Special mention about the owner uncle. He is are really nice polite man and takes pride in endorsing his chain. I will definitely revisit this place whenever I next time I'm around zaveri Bazar.

Meals laden with ghee/butter will give you a lip smacking experience. Once done with your feast, you have bottled buttermilk to give you the perfect finish!
They serve simple yet very tasty food. It's difficult to between all the bhagat tarachands as they are all in the same lane, but my personal favorite is "R". Do try their Chaas is bottle, which they serve in a beer bottle. Kaju masala is one of my favorite sabji here, thick red gravy and lots of Kaju. The combination of Lasooni Dal Tadka and jeera rice is superb. The lasooni dal tadka is thick with lots of fried onions and spicy lasoon tadka. Dp try their butter and desi ghee chapatis.
Okayish thaali, nothing much to write about except dal which was a bit watery and chana (chole) were atrocious. The ambience is decent and service quality is good overall .

R Bhagat tarrachand being one of my favourite places in the busy lane of Zaveri bazar lane and middle of 3bhagat tarrachand in that lane. I have been going here since 8-10 Years now, it’s a very old place .
Ambience - They have changed over the years .They have a ground floor non ac and 1st floor ac room ,they also have a private room in the 1st floor . From rustic look to now a casual dinning look , that’s the change
Waiting -You will find waiting over the weekends and sometimes during lunch time .I had to wait 45 mins my recent visit on holiday.
Service-They are very much happy to serve you and hospitable

Buttermilk - pure bliss when compared to the watered down versions at other restaurants.
Papad churi - ghee roasted papad churis and ghee roasted onions make the perfect combination! Skip the masala papad and go for this instead.
Butter chapati - Each chapati comes not with a coating but and entire cube of butter. Despite this, the buyer doesn't seem overwhelming.
Dal tadka- Absolutely amazing dish in itself!! Loved it so much that we placed a repeat order. Perfect dal with oodles of roasted onion (or maybe a bit of shallots as well since it tasted a bitter sweeter than normal onions)
Best desi food! Name any item on their menu and I can wolf it down. Their rotis and parathas are really good. And so many options, jowar,bajra,makki,gehu and missi rotis. Chhas in beer bottle is another attraction. Well done guys!

Place is there since 1895, food was so yumm. When I saw their menu for the first time I felt its little overpriced but after seeing the quantity of Dalbaati I felt this is proper. I ordered one daal baati plate @499 which was enough to full 2 people's stomach. We even ordered their famous dish Papad Churi which comes with chutany that was mouthwatering. This place serves unlimited thali too. Nice place and the staff was very behaved.

Food- 100/10, Quantity - 10/10 actually you don't go here for ambience. Authentic gujrati and Rajasthani thali is the USP.

Visited The Outlet Many Times… and as all know it’s lot more then their Thalis… some personal recommendations here from me which surely can give a try and won’t regret….
They Have been The TIMES FOOD AWARD WINNER as well.
The Outlet is in prime location in Zaveri bazaar
Both Ac/Non -Ac Seatings available….
Quite spacious and a decent interior…
We went here for lunch on a weekday…
Their outlet speciality is the daal bati here but it’s not that up to the mark as I had expected it on my 1st visit here. So I won’t Recommend It here.
But there are some good dishes here which are worth the try.

Quantity Of the dish perfect for 2 people. Very crunchy…not too spicy as well. Really tasted good when eaten with daal tadka and rice in main course.
2. Bhindi Fry :- 4.5/5
Really loved it mini size cut bhindi deep fried….perfect blend of spice. Surely a must have dish here. Even if deep fried it wasn’t oily which usually it turns out to be.
MAIN COURSE :-
1. Paneer Chatpata :- 5/5 ( Highly Recommended )
In Love with the dish….It was exactly as the name suggests….CHATPATA…!! Quantity really enough for 2 people. Worth the money.. Ate It with their famous butter chapati. Still not over the taste 😍😍
2. Double Daal Tadka & Rice :- 4.5/5
Daal tadka lovers a must have here.
DESSERTS :-
1. Moong Daal Ka Halwa :- 5/5 ( A Must Have Here)
Visiting Here and not having their moong daal Halwa is like your visit here is a waste….
SURELY SHOULDNT MISS OUT THIS DISH… MADE IN PURE GHEE…. not over sweet perfect sweetness… served hot and nicely garnished. DROOLWORTHY DISH.
Overall a very nice time spent here.
Food was amazing.
Service is quick.
Staff is also very much attentive and helpful.

So this one is a Legendary place. Has a great reputation. TOTALLY WORTH IT 👌.. we went to a newer branch which is right opposite the original one. Place is Veryyy clean, Fast service and a Pocket Friendly place. Quality and Quantity both are worth the price.
Recommendation - Butter Naan (it will melt your ❤️)

Today visited R @B Bhagat, does not add to value or quality, service is utterly bad, to me R Bhagat just right next to this one is more authentic.
Good food, not too spicy or oily. Loved the chaas, and it's one of its speciality also. The lasooni dal was too good. We had ordered a sp thali which was good enough for a person . This bottle in the picture attaches is chaas served by them.

Both the sabzi were served with pickle,onion and lemon,food was little oily but was also tasty and enjoyed it with Aloo Parathas,Chapati and Buttermilk
