A decent restaurant with decent pricing and a great variety of authentic receipe served..1st time whem i ordered ..the taste was perfect and the quantity was good enough..but 2nd time the same recipee was not cooked properly otherwise it a good restaurant..
Sion lunch home serves delicious mangalorean and seafood thalis. It’s located very close to Sion station and the ambience is decent enough. It’s usually crowded during the peak lunch/dinner hours. Especially on Sundays there’s a lot of waiting but the food is really worth the wait. I have been eating at Sion lunch home from almost 10years now maybe! And the taste is the same since then which is epic. The staff is too friendly and nice. Must must visit place for all the seafood lovers!!

Sion Lunch Home is an absolute paradise for seafood lovers. Their thalis are amazing and lets you try multiple dishes in one combined plate and price. My favourite dish here is Surmai Pulimunchi (thick spicy Manglorean curry) poured over the fish. This curry is absolutely magical and delicious to the highest levels. For many years I have been eating this dish and still never got tired of it. I plan a gap of 2 months between each visit to this restaurant but I end up visiting every 3 weeks for this dish. Surmai Pulimunchi can be paired with steam rice or with Neer Dosa plate and the magic will reach another level.
The restaurant is usually packed but they do provide take away and online ordering too. The ambiance isn’t that great. So if you love food and do not mind basic seating, head here for a meal. Otherwise online ordering is your best bet.

For the fish lover, this restaurant offers an excellent fish curry meals for lunch. This is a typical south indian recipe and a treat to those who wish to taste southindian cuisine. The rates are very reasonable for the taste. The ambience is also good.

Ambience- A small place with both AC/Non AC sections. The tables are comfortable but are very close to each other though.
Food-
1)Sweet Corn Soup- The soup was thick and deliciously creamy.
2)Pomfret Fry Thali- It came with fish fry, solkadhi, a vegetable, some manglorian curry, chapatis and rice.
The fish was amazingly cooked and very delicious so was the solkadhi.
3)Chicken Thali- Had the same contents as fish thali with the replacement of chicken which was again good in taste.
4)Manglorian Style Prawns Curry- This was my favourite as it had a slightly tangy taste with a hint of fresh seafood flavour. The prawns were decent in size and the quantity of prawns was also good, around 12-14.
5)Tandoori Pomfret- The size of the fish was good and had a nice flavour with some salad at the sides.
6)Veg Noodles- The quality and quantity was very good. The taste was decent as well.
Staff- The captain wasn’t ready to take our order till our entire group was present because he thought we’d run away after giving the order which was rude tbh. But later he was friendly. #parivartan😂

It's a very famous Restaurant near Sion station recently. I visited this place it's a small restaurant Ambience is not to catch but the food is really very tasty a perfect Maharashtrian food. The fish fry, mutton curry everything was awesome if you a nonveg lover then must visit and try their food.

It's a small place located in Sion just 2 mins walk from Sion station. There are two sections for seating AC and Non-AC. The tables are quite small to eat comfortably. Service was quick even though it was crowded. There's also a waiting area outside. It is famous for its seafood items and their Fish thali.
What we ordered:
•Surmayi Fish Thali- It includes one curry, sabzi, fried fish or inside the curry(which we ordered), rice bhakri/Chapati/Roti/Vade, solkadi and Rice. Rate 5/5
•Sukha Chicken- It was prepared in Mangalorean style with lots of shredded coconuts. The quantity was good for 2 people. We ordered a bhakri to go along with it as they were short of kombdi Vades (tastes amazing with it).Rate 4/5
•Sukha Shimple- Again it was prepared in Mangalorean style with lots of shredded coconuts. Quantity is sufficient for two people. Rate 4/5
•Bombil Fry- We ordered one plate of it.Super crispy and cleaned properly. MUST TRY!! Rate 5/5

There is a small hotel near Sion Station. This is a great place to get fish food. Its non AC is basic with only 10 tables. They have AC - it was very crowded and it was. Also waiting. Chicken lollipop with shrubby, pomfret, suramai and shrimp fry for rava starter. I took away a star because I thought there might be more dishes on the plate

Heard about this restaurant much on social media pages for a long time…Though never managed it to be here personally. One fine day when I had to plan my dinner out as parents were not at home. That was the moment I gave a visit to this place all alone. A 2 mins walk from Sion station and there you are at Sion Lunch Home. Initial impressions were surprising after seeing it heavily crowded during week days. One good reason why this place is so prominent for its seafood delicacies. It has two sections for seating AC & NON – AC. As I was craving for Fish badly didn’t bothered where I’ll get to sit. After a mins of waiting got my table. Thankfully no one else sat opposite to me. So it was time to have hands on their Fish Thali. I went for the Pomfret Thali which was tawa fried. There are other options too…Masala/fry, Chilly Indian, Puli Munchi….

1> Pomfret Thali (tawa fried) – For a moment I didn’t even felt to start munching as it looked so tempting only just by seeing it. Though couldn’t wait any longer and started off by squeezing the lemon over the pomfret. My My it was a heavenly feeling experiencing the taste of pomfret. Perfectly cooked and with the right amount of spices made it more delectable. It was served with Bhakri, Sol Kadhi, Rassa, Veg gravy and rice. A total value for money.
Ambience – As mentioned above in the summary it is suitable for family gatherings, special occasions and if you are alone like I was step ahead it will leave your soul satisfied. Seating is comfortable and the interiors are kept plain and simple.

3 fiseatarians, 2 fish thaalis — Halwa thaali and Surmai thaali. Had a great time. Missed the privacy bit, as it was a weekend we had to share the table. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying our 🥘.
So this restaurant is really easy to locate, it's near Sion station, (a 2 min. walk). A number of Travel Agencies are nearby so for travellers, this place is pretty decent.
There is a choice of AC or non AC dining, AC doesn't offer large groups though.
Sion lunch home is famous for its Sea Food and primarily Fish. Ravas seemed to melt in mouth and was really delicious. There are even Veg and Non-Veg Thalis. For vegetarians, Paneer dishes here are really good; you can go for any of them, especially Panner Tikka Masala. Veg Kolhapuri didn't meet my expectations though, it had some more uncooked veggies and was filled with chillies. Dal and rice are classic good-old kind of.
The quantity of gravies and veggies was really more and was worth the money.
Summing up, it was a good experience and you can give a try once.

The sea food platter here is THE BEST.. If you are a sea food lover then u should definitely try this place out.. The place is tiny one with 9 table seating, so often it's crowded.

Thali is served either with Roti/Puri/Rice.
We opted with Roti.
Both Thalis very good with Authentic Taste of Malwani.

Coming to my experience, it has always been amazing at sion lunch home. Their staff is very attentive and quick although they don't speak much. The service too is quick. Ambience is good and clean... They have 2 sections AC and NON-AC. AC section is smaller. Seating can be said is limited. But you don't need table booking.
The food I ordered was prawns fry thali. It came with 1 vegetable, a bowl of fried prawns, sol kadi (kokam+coconut milk drink usually South indians drink after their meal to avoid the warm nature of fish diaturbing the stomach.) And surva (a plain spicy curry that tastes similar to sambhar but even better than that.) Usually the thali comes either with chapati Or rice but by asking them you can get it changed into neer dosa. As I like neer dosa more so I asked for neer dosa. Tha whole quantity of thali is sufficient for one person. And prices are worth and reasonable as compare to other regular Chinese and Mughlai hotels serving seafood.
Their variety of seafood is vaste. They do serve crab too. And any one seafood item is served in 4 ways - fried, masala fry, Indian chilly and chilly punchi (with South Indian spices mix) .
People in the surrounding of sion must give it a try when they crave for seafood and are looking for pocket friendly seafood restaurant.
Overall I give it 4.3/5 rating.
Tip: it is only 5 minutes straight walk away from sion station.

A small place in Sion, it is sure to leave you smacking your lips and wanting more. This is a budget place for your fish cravings and I would suggest you try the fish here, not the chicken or moglai food. We tried the thali: Bombil, Pomphret, Surmai along with Chicken Lollipop and Prawns rawa fry for starters. I take one star away as I felt the thali could have had more dishes in it, like a fish piece in the curry, fish sukka, etc. All in all the food is fresh and won't leave you disappointed. Service is prompt. Do reach early or reserve if you want a table!

It’s a good place in the city where you can have sea food dishes and other non veg too. Place is a bit congested and had to wait for long time in the queue but after all when dish arrives its all worth when you eat.

My favourite recommendation would be all the Fish Thali's and specially the 'Chilly Pomfret Thali'. Thali includes 2 roti/chapati, vegetable, fish curry, rice, dal, fish (whichever you order), and sol kadi.

With no ambience at this restaurant they manage to attract people with their delicious thalis, the combo thalis served has various options with great taste. Sea food platter is the only reason why I had visited this place! Seven different types of fishes in the platter makes it valuable. I had two different biryani's Chicken biryani & Prawns biryani. I'll recommend to go with the prawns one it's great here. Kori roti was also good.

Have been this place on a saturday afternoon with family as usual. We thought to have a good breakfast but ultimately settled for chicken lunch.
Personally I loved the fish here, this place is awesome for fish dishes. Chicken I didn’t like much , as it had too much of Coconut content, I didn’t like the flavour of it.

Went for a lunch on a weekend had a waiting of 15 mins for AC section. But I must say it was worth. The Surmai tava fry was just awesome. So good that I took a parcel too. We ordered the prawns fry and the surmai gravy. The delivery was super quick. I wouldn’t exaggerate if I said this was the best meal of the week. The batter on the prawns was amazing, they weren’t too spicy, just wished they were hot. But that didn’t reduce the taste in any way. The surmai was perfectly cooked. The gravy just by itself was delicious and with the surmai it was amazing. We were just two people eating so couldn’t order a variety of sea food, will now go to the restaurant to eat the fried prawns hot! Fabulous stuff!
Sion has many lunch homes serving since ages. Many of them are run by Mangalorians. I and my mum passed these series of restaurants lined up in Sion East and inviting smell of fish stuck my mums mind and in search of the smell we landed to this small restaurant near my college. We are total Mangalorian when it comes to food. It’s non AC is very basic with 10 tables only. They have AC too. It was very crowded and had waiting as well. We ordered chicken thali special, Komdi Wade thali and surmai fry (not in the picture). Food was too good and the chicken and fish were cooked to perfection. We also ordered sol Kadhi it was good as well. Finger licking good I would say and people who saw me eating would definitely say🙈.

If you like sour and tangy flavours then I would highly recommend trying out their fish preparation(not chicken) in “pullimunchi” style gravy it’s robust and very flavourful we tried crab pullimunchi and loved it!!!

Though the place is small and always crowded but it’s easily accessible as it’s on main highway and yes you may face parking issues so preplan and come early.
I visited this place yesterday on my way home.. we wanted to have dinner.. it's a very small place very cramped up ... So we had chicken tandoori and neer dosa with chicken.. the taste of food is authentic and really amazing.. they have variety of dishes which includes veg and non veg from chicken, mutton and fishes. If you are craving for some nice fish gravy or fry which is home type... I think you should visit this place .. must try

The Chicken thali had really delicious chicken sukkha served along with coconut gravy, a bowl of veggies, solkadi, chapattis and rice.
The Veg thali had 2 types of veggies, Palak paneer and mix dry vegetable, served along with coconut gravy, solkadi, rotis and rice.
Ordered for Bombil tawa fry, which were served piping hot and crispy, coated with rava.
Washed everything down with 2 glasses of Solkadi ordered additionally.

This place serves good manglorean fish food with amazing side dishes. Located on a busy street this old reputed hotel has frequently visitors throughout the day. I order kind fish fry with crab thali along with sole kadi. The food reminded me of my granny. Awesome food and friendly staff. Loved it

The place serves the best Seafood. Bombil fry, Surmai fry, Pomphret fry and Mutton masala are the best dishes here. You must try their Solkadhi after dinner as it's freshly made n so refreshing. Try their mutton masala with neer dosa. The place is situated exactly next to Sion station(E) n it's always crowded but at max you have to wait for 10-15 mins at peak time.

I recently visited Sion Lunch Home and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The menu is diverse, offering a variety of delicious dishes to choose from. I particularly enjoyed bombali fry and Mughlai chicken ( chicken was overcooked) but gravy was awsome. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. I highly recommend Sion Lunch Home for anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal in Mumbai.
Had neer dosa, prawn ghee roast and pompret fry. Prawn Ghee roast was too spicy, has a good kick to it. Pomfret fry was delicious with nice crispy coating. Neer dosa went well with both dishes. Overall a well enjoyable dining experience.

despite the commendable culinary offerings, I was disappointed by the subpar service I encountered throughout my visit. The waitstaff demonstrated a lack of attentiveness and professionalism, which significantly impacted my overall experience. Their behavior was particularly discourteous, and it left me feeling quite unwelcome.
Additionally, the seating arrangement within the establishment was uncomfortably tight. The chairs were placed in such close proximity that it impeded my ability to enjoy a relaxed and private dining experience.
Visited for dinner. This place has both AC and Non-AC sections. We chose to sit in the former (which is a smaller space). Service is quick and food is very good. We ordered for a mini seafood platter and 2 fish thalis (Pomfret & Surmai) along with Sol Kadhi which was fabulous. I will happily recommend this place for a test of local seafood delicacies.
Value for money. Good selection of seafood and Chinese. Good taste and so affordable.

I have been eating at Sion Lunch Home from past 10-15 years and the taste remains the same. You can have a tummy full experience with varieties of options and for sure you will go home planning what's the next option you gonna eat.
This place is a fish lovers paradise. There are a lot of options to choose from here. The price is a bit high but it's totally worth it. Seating is a bit crammed, but otherwise this place is amazing. Seafood platter, Prawns dishes and Solkadi are must haves here! Would highly recommend if you want to go out for a lunch or dinner with your family

Amazing taste no doubt..!!!! An homely place for those who love maharashtrian or mangalorian food. Specially sea food. Lunch home is quite small for a big family however no points deducted for it as it has amazing food with decent sitting capacity..

Best place for having nonveg in Sion. Specially sea food. Ac section is little bit small. Overall all good food. This hotel is famous for it's seafood. Service is also good. Reasonable hotel pocket friendly not too much costly. Located near Sion station. Food quality is nice & tasty. 4 start from my side.
Whenever you go, the staff is very helpful and your order just comes in 10 to 15 mins.
Anytime you go you will find rush as it attracts the crowds with its wonderful taste.
If you are a non-vegetarian please do visit atleast once.
