This place has got the whole Goa theme going for it. While we didn't really eat much there, it's a chic place to chill out at. Good music and good service.

Been to this place a couple of time. Beautiful decor that gives you a slight feel of chilling in a shack in Vagator. The staff is courteous and prompt with the service.
Coming to the menu, it’s an absolute blast if you live the Goan cuisine. Sesame & coconut prawns is a must try! Plantain&Date Tikki ans the imli sauce, Rawa fried bombil and dry chilli pork deserves special mention. The coconut carving of the Mallu in me was further satisfied by Santan’s chicken curry with a side of unpolished red rice 😋 overall a good experience.

A place that could have been so much more but is nothing. We went there on a Saturday night and believe me only 3 out of 20 tables were occupied. The vibe was overall very dull.
Coming to food and drinks. We ordered tequila shots. Which was superb. And with Zomato gold the deal became sweeter.
Food was chicken and prawn starters suggested by them which was excellent. Have no complains with the food.

Zomato said no available reservations, tried our luck and called them directly and got a reservation with no problem. Had the Goan fish curry with rice, Chicken Xacuti with poi and finished it off with Rasta chocolate cup. While the main course was very good, the dessert was your regular chocolate mousse. Loved the beach shack ambience and service was excellent!

If you are planning a Saturday night with chill vibes and some good amount of money, Lady Baga will never disappoint you. First up we ordered Dsouza Family Chops, a perfect combination of crisp and tender. We got ourselves a Watermelon & Feta Salad which was alright because I found the cheese too thick for my taste. Main course was Fajita Chicken with Penne and Devilled Chicken which were well cooked with great flavours.
Being a zomato gold drink partner, Majha Mazaa was the cherry on the cake. Two of those drinks with proper amount of alcohol made my night.
Looking forward to go back next weekend again😛

Re-living the Goan shack vibe, with sand under your feet, and projectors to make you stare into a digital horizon, the food isn’t far behind.
From taste to vision, this place can cut your budget the next time you crave to taste some Goan curry, specially with its zomato gold offer on drinks.
Not to forget the hospitality of this place is managed by the prettiest hostess in town, sure to give you the perfect sunset vibe at all times.

We went there for lunch today and ordered the #porkchillyfry; #goanprawncurrywithrice; a couple of drinks and rounded it off with the #BebincaWithIceCream.

While we loved the #porkchillyfry and #goanprawncurrywithrice; we felt the Bebinca was not as sweet as it is supposed to be. Infact the Bebinca had a bitter taste towards the end.

That's not the reason, Lady Baga loses out on one point, they lose out because Kelly - the person who took our orders and served us - was drunk. He kept tripping over something and banged into a couple of tables after taking our orders. Plus he couldn't recommend anything to us - when we asked him for the specialty - he just rattled off the full menu - after which we just played safe and chose what we wanted.

I wish Lady Baga would train their staff well.

Cheers

So recently Thallasa has taken over this place and what a way to throw a party for the same! The ambiance straight takes you to Goa and how! The lights, the tables on sand, the colorful elements and the food! Mind blowing! The menu was all things Greek and there were so many things we tried for the first time and I was in the happiest state there !
From Lasagna, Moussaka, Kebabs to the star of the night Baklava! Perfffeectt party!

Came here on a Saturday evening as we went pub hopping around Kamala Mills and we loved the Goa shack feel the decor has. 5/5 for making me believe I could close my eyes and believe I am in Goa!
Must have cocktail - aamchi mojito which is made with fresh coconut water. It's refreshing and definitely a day drink.
Must try dish for vegetarians - plantain and dates cutlets. They're different from all the planner based staples and good.

Looking for a lively place on a Friday night..head here!! The place is a typical Goan nest with the decor and atmosphere that complements the theme... they have a different menu with options tilting to goan or greek. we had the thalassa kebab and the chicken fillet souvlanki, both of which were cooked to delight the tummy, picture perfect and the plate was filling...the music is lively and leads to feet tapping but the place is small and if you do not have a reservation you may spend time standing at the bar for long

This place is a 10/10. Starting with the person at the entrance who was so careful about kids running outside the restaurant premises to the lovely desserts. We went for Sunday lunch so the place was not crowded. After a very long time we got many tasty veg options along with non veg ones. If you crave for spicy food you must visit this place. Must try veg - chilly lime potatoes as starters and main course mushroom xacuti. Non veg starter Butter garlic prawn were delicious . Goan fish curries was also very tasty. A delicious meal ended with creamy and awesome caramel custard

Scrumptious Goan delicacies are brought to us by Lady Baga. The menu is carefully crafted to include something for everyone, though the vegetarian options are limited, the are delectable.
Not just the food, but the ambience is also amazing here. Colourful and boho- chic, the decor is quirky and draws a lot form the Goan shacks. Casual and comfy furniture, pretty murals, dream catchers, beach wear to eye wear - everything adorns the already quirky walls. Some tables even have the privilege of sand, a complete beach feel. There are multiple aspects of the eye catching decor that ,make you look twice and smile.

We started of with Raspberry Kiss and Lady Baga's Bubbly. Raspberry Kiss is a perfect concoction, lots of tangy elements and a little sweetness. Lady Baga's Bubble is an apple flavoured iced tea with  wobbly jelly and apple slices. Quiet nice.

Next came - Plantain & Date Tikkis which was surprisingly delicious. Not a fan of anything banana, we weren't sure if we would like these, but gave them a try anyway. Turns out, we are now fans! Crispy crumbs outside, and yummy masala inside, and the lip-smacking tamarind chutney, as the description says - these really are the bomb!

Corn & Cheese Tikkis - Spicy filling of corn and lots of cheese with curry leaf mayo dip. Yummy!

Three types of Paneer Skewers  - Cafreal, Rosemary & Garlic, Peri-Peri. These three will satisfy different levels of spiciness cravings. Cafreal is very very spicy, starts off as decent but will leave you sweating good in a couple seconds. We loved this one. Rosemary and Garlic is absolutely delicious. Peri-Peri is mild spicy, one that leaves you wanting another bite. The paneer cubes were soft and well marinated with even the bell peppers and onions coated in generous gravy and masala.

Knowing very well that their lunch thalis are huge, we decided to challenge ourselves. The vegetarian thali priced generously at Rs.300, is complete with - veg snack (we got corn & cheese tikkis), dry vegetable (ours was potato based), Paneer and 3 bean Roce (remind us to tell you how amazing this was), steamed rice, Poee / Chapati, salad, mango based sweet-spicy pickle and dessert. These items may sound a few, but the quantity is huge and very filling. The Paneer & 3 Bean Roce was just fantabulous, delicious gravy, lots of veggies, we loved devouring it with rice, with poee and just separately as well. It is a must have here!!

We ended our meal with warm Bebinca and a scoop of creamy ice cream. Loved it.

Overall, we loved our experience at Lady Baga and are definitely going back for more!

The ambience of the restaurant resembles that of a Goan shack. We literally had sand under our table. The restaurant is done up in bright colours and warm lighting.

Coming to the food. We gave seafood a miss this time. Had Tenderloin chilly fry and Devilled chicken as starters along with 🍺. Both the starters were very good in taste and quantity. For mains we had Chicken xacuti and Pork sorpotel. The xacuti was excellent but the sorpotel was sweet and oily for my taste. Ended our meal with the classic Serradura.

There was a error in the bill amount which they promptly rectified. The wait staff was warm and helpful. Will surely visit soon.

Being Goan I was naturally drawn to this place and really loved the ambience. I think the bright colours and murals really bring out the charm of this place.

Apart from that, I must say I enjoyed the food. The D'Souza Family Chops and the Rawa Fried Bombil really were to die for, especially the Family Chops. Enjoyed the Prawn curry rice as well and while alcohol is slightly on the higher side, I think it's a lovely place to visit.

Lazing around on a shack, sipping on a cocktail and stuffing yourself with some lip-smacking food sounds like the ideal way to start the new year, right? Well, all our Goan dreams are about to come true right here in Mumbai.

Lady Baga is a casual dining cafe and lounge located in Oasis Complex in Lower Parel, Mumbai. The place has a beautiful and colorful ambiance with an amazing seating area and comfortable lounges. Lady Baga specializes in Goan cuisine. The premium menu is in line with the tastes and preferences of the diners and caters to people of all segments. The additional feature is the DJ nights hosted there which makes the whole experience delightful.

What we were served: Masala Nuts, Corn and Cheese Tikki, Plantain and Dates Tikki, Chargrilled Paneer Skewers, Chargrilled Mushroom Skewers, Aubergine and Long Bean Ambotik, Chana Tendli, Friday Special Goan Curry, Coconut Rice, Bebinca with Ice Cream, Amchi Mojito and Baga Bong

Masala Nuts – Goan style nuts mixed with onions, chillis and lime. A staple at good Goan bar

Corn and Cheese Tikki – Goan spiced tikkis that turn any meal into a party. Served with an innovative curry leaves mayo

Plantain and Dates Tikki – Crumb fried green banana and dates tikki served with imli chilli sauce. This one’s a bomb!

Chargrilled Paneer Skewers – Skewers of paneer with peppers and onions marinated with the flavor your heart desires. We chose Cafreal and Rosemary & Garlic!

Chargrilled Mushroom Skewers – Grilled skewers of button mushrooms, peppers and onions flavored with our choice of Peri Peri sauce. Succulent!

Aubergine and Long Bean Ambotik - The soft creaminess of a perfectly cooked eggplant is the epitome of culinary perfection. Slowly simmered and intermingled with sizzling spices, this is easily a palate pleaser!

Chana Tendli - This tendli preparation is truly packed with punch! While boiled kala chana adds an interesting textural dimension to the dish, a special masala paste made of spices, coconut, tamarind and other ingredients gives it a fabulous blast of flavour.

Friday Special Goan Curry with Coconut Rice - This Goan vegetable curry captures the flavours of Goa, in a bowl. The rice has the perfect aroma and taste.

Bebinca with Ice Cream - Bebinca, also known as bibik or bebinka, is a type of pudding and a traditional Goan dessert. Bebinca is served warm with cold ice cream.

Amchi Mojito – This iced beauty is made from fresh coconut water, vodka, muddled mint and lime. Such an amazingly strong drink with a good after taste of coconut water

Baga Bong – White rum, dark rum, grapefruit juice, passion fruit and orange liquor has Baga sunset written all over it!

Constructive Suggestion:

1. Some of the dishes have a similar taste due to use of traditional Goan spices. Maybe, the taste can be enhanced or blended to bring out something different. Maybe. But then, we know that it would not justify the traditional Goan theme of Lady Baga vibe.

In a nutshell, Lady Baga is a surreal Goan place to unwind and have fun with friends while enjoying some of the best Goan delicacies.

October 2018

I have been to Kamala Mills multiple times. I had seen this colourful place from the outside but never tried it. I didn't know what I was missing out on until the last Thursday!

Lady Baga is at the Bombay Dyeing side of Kamala Mills. I stepped in and back street boys was being played in the background. Warm yellow lights, dream catchers suspended from the ceiling, a loaded, neatly done bar in one corner, wooden arm chairs and sand on the floor! No, I am not describing Goa - I am talking about Kamala's Baga. :)
Full points for being Instagram worthy!

Quenchers:

1) Baga bong - Quickest way to sway! A lovely drink with an enticing presentation. However, since I have zero 'capacity' when it comes to alcohol, we cancelled our gold 2+2 and I called for kokam sherbat instead. :p

2) Sangria - My sangria lover friend had no complaints so I am assuming it was good.

3) Kokam sherbat - Refreshing and a perfect complement to the starters. Repeat list sherbat for sure!

Grub:

1) Chargrilled mushroom skewers in recheado
MIND-BLOWING! Three sticks with about 5 small button mushrooms, tomatoes and onions in recheado.
People have been raving about Baga's recheado preparations. I totally get why! They have the option of chicken in recheado too.
Serves 2 *at max.* I cannot stop at one skewer if it is THIS good! Highly recommended.

2) Rawa bombil fry
6 medium sized bombils, deep fried to golden brown perfection served with a tangy & spicy sauce. I found the crust a tad too thick. That was the downside. Tasted just fine. Serves 2 easily.

3) Lagos chicken kheema
Kheema and sour cream over flat bread. The sour cream oozes out a little making the kheema look alluring. I have had better kheemas. This one was average on the taste front. Fills 2.

4) Caramel custard
Melting morsels, right amount of sweetness, basic presentation, the caramel custard was a sweet end to our meal.

Warm and attentive service. Justifies the 10% service charge.
We paid ₹2,540. Slightly priced on the higher side.

Would I come back? For the skewers, hell yes. Recheado rocked my world! :D

The sand flooring, hippie art walls, bulb roofing and beachy exteriors made us feel we are back in Goa and we had a smile on our faces throughout. I just wouldn't share this authentic Goan dessert called Bebinca with my friends as i went crazy over this 🍰 layered cake dessert which is served with Vanilla Ice-cream

We first ordered the goan special nuts with masala which was such a great start with my drink Baga Bong which is a run based drink
We then ordered chicken skewers and prawns for starters which were so tangy and the acidity was perfectly there
For main course, we ordered the coconut chicken curry which was made in ofcourse Goan coconut base. The fish curry was so yummy that I finished the entire plate with the rice.
The pork vindaloo with Poi took our breath away. We intact packed this one dish as well so that we can eat it again

You should use that Zomato Gold membership of yours and try out this place asap and enjoy on the shacks inside and outside the place with Wooden Chairs, Goan Food & Cocktails....!!

I will certainly not remember any place in Goa for sure as much as I would remember this one. It was not very crowded on a Friday night something which I didn't anticipate. I tried two items here:
1) Chargrilled chicken skewers: 6-9 of boneless chicken were served on sticks along with a dip. It was an average item.
2) Goan fish curry -Okay, I do not want to exaggerate but it was the best fish curry I have ever had. The staff there recommended it to me and I have been only eating fish since then (it has just been 3 days though but still). It was soo good, it had Kingfish served in a thick tangy gravy with brown rice, pickle, chutney, and one powdered item. Everything was amazing about this dish, we wanted to order one more but couldn't since we placed the last order for the day.

I will definitely visit this awesome place again and have this fish curry all by myself.

Lady baga looks like a mini Goa with an amazing ambience to spend some quality time with your friends and family. The ambience, the staff, the food, and the crowd everything is so Goan here. This is the place to zone out on some chilled beers and some hot goan food.

For starters, we ordered DSouza Family Chop. It was mutton with bones slapped with fillings of masala and deep fried with batter. It was tasty as well as ordered a Paneer starter and a mushroom starter both very tasty. Even the main course which was Goan curry with rice was really nice n unique. We went for the comfort zone of ordering Chicken Vindaloo with Pav. We were not disappointed. Delicious!

It also has a table in the corner which is on sand so one can actually feel the sands while dining.

Their Food-
Our favourites were
* Masala Nuts - This was the pre appetisers dish. Masala nuts with a tangy taste served in a wide shaped glass, was a good starter pack

In Appetisers-
* Corn & Cheese Tikki - Corn based crispy tikkis served with a sweet Neem leaves Mayo. It was good

* Chargrilled Paneer Skewers & Chargrilled Mushroom skewers - Both the dishes were amazing. The Paneer was extremely soft with a bit of smoky flavour to it & the button mushrooms were well marinated with a peri peri taste to it

Mains-
* Goan Dal - A coconut flavoured dal which includes the taste of kokum & is quite famous here

* Chana Tendli - when it comes to something like Tendli never are sure to order this. But after having it we came to know that something like Tendli can also taste good enough if played well with the spices. So we weren’t disappointed by this too

* Paneer & 3 Bean Roce - A tangy coconut gravy more towards the thicker & spicy side went well with the paneer & beans
They also bake their Buns in-house which is extremely soft & yummy

Desserts-
* Chocolate Lava Fondant- Chocolate lava Fondant can never be a disappointment, we enjoyed it with the icecream & berries

Overall, excellent options in the drinks menu as well. Fantastic customer service/ staff, & an excellent lady manager running the show.
Definitely worth many more visits in future.

Missing the Goan cuisine. No need to wait till your next Goa trip. Head to this amazing place.

Music, food, ambiance all gives you the Goan vibe here.

My colleagues and I visited this place during lunch hours, we were served complimentary kokam sarbat shots which was very refreshing in this scorching Mumbai heat.

The menu has wide variety of Goan food, infact some of the dishes you won't even find on the famous beach shacks in Goa.
The food was well cooked and delicious in taste. It was good in quantity and worth for the price you pay. The staff was very helpful and informative.

I would recommend this place to every Goan cuisine lover.
Lady Baga, I'm gonna eat all the Goan dishes from your menu 😍

What we ate & drank -
1. Chicken chargrilled skewers in Cafreal sauce (green) & same in Rocheado sauce (red) - personally I would recommend the Cafreal one. I loved it.
2. Langos chicken kheema - goan bread lathered with yummlicious kheema. (Must try)
3. Chicken Xacauti with the famous Goan bread 'Poee'
4. Kokam sarbhat to beat the heat.

My take on the place -
Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 5/5
Price - 3.4/5
Hygiene - 4/5

It has been some time since I have been to Goa. And even when I was there, I was in company of some ardent meat-loving friends who were not going to spend any time searching for vegetarian fare for me (I know, I need new friends :P). So literally for the 2 days that we were there, I lazed on the beach like a whale and subsisted on salads. Thus the invite to review Lady Baga brought back those memories with the eternal question-''hmm, as a vegetarian, what would I even eat here?'' I nearly gave up on the idea, but at the last moment my friend convinced me to at least check it out..and boy, was I surprised!

So strange that I have come to appreciate Goa's vegetarian culinary offerings by tasting them here in Mumbai. First of all, Kudos to everyone at Lady Baga for not just throwing in customary 'paneer tikka' and 'naan-paneer kadhai' combos for vegetarians, rather there is a very well thought-out and put together menu with delicious Goan vegetarian dishes. Secondly, full marks to them for superb Goan hippie ambiance, so much vibrance and positivity in the air, absolutely top-notch service and value for money price points (considering quantity, quality and location!)

Started off with drinks-

Non-Alcoholic version of BAGA BONG- Grapefruit juice, Orange, Passion fruit and sugar syrup, AMAZING, extremely refreshing, not overly sweet.

LEMONADE TWIST- Beautiful to look at, citrusy beauty to gulp down. Orange, Pineapple, Lemon, Soda, Sprite, a lot of Goan charm. Try it.

For food, I got the perfect package-

For starters, had CHARGRILLED PANEER SKEWERS in CAFREAL marination (high spice level) and MUSHROOM SKEWERS in RECHEADO marination which was simply BAE, this flavor explodes on the palate, MUST-MUST-MUSTT HAVE.

VEGETARIAN THALI- HUGE portions, in fact 1 Thali is enough for 2 light eaters! Lovely mix of dishes to give a glimpse of Goan spices, vegetables, bread in one meal. There was-

Corn-Cheese Patty- Yum, could have had more if there wasn't a giant thali to finish :P,

Stuffed Mirchi- Not spicy at all!,

Paneer & 3 Bean Roce- wholesome gravy,

Channa and Tendli Sabzi- MUST-HAVE, I couldn't believe how Tendli could ever taste sooooo good!,

Dal- While in Punjabi cuisine, black dal reigns supreme, here this is the more homely version, the one I prefer actually :),

Dry Vegetables mix with chole (prepared in very non-Punjabi way!),

Poee- Goa's special bread that goes well with any sabzi or dal, fell in love with this, they bake it fresh in-house everyday,

Steamed Rice -perfect to go with paneer gravy,

Papad, Pickle, Chaas and Doodhi ka Halwa as dessert.

In one word- PERFECT meal. There is a distinct use of coconut and spices in Goan cuisine that is shown nicely through all the dishes in this thali. LOVED it.

In DESSERT, had the eggless SERRADURA which is a very simple dish-layers of whipped cream, condensed milk and cookies crumble, have all the layers at once and it is very comforting.

Overall, Lady Baga has enchanted this hungry hippo. Bon Appetit!

If u wanna head to goa but can't then lady baga is the place to be. U can sip on some amazing cocktails, sit back in those cane chairs Listen to some lovely music (like ur sitting in the shacks on the beach on goa). The food is finger licking good. The rechad squid preparation is the best u will find. Melt in ur mouth bits of heaven. The fried fish is cooked to perfection. Believe me u wana go try this out. The ultimate yummy in ur tummy moment is when u have the prawn curry rice. Takes u straight to goa... And they serve it with some lovely pickle and some tismur a local Goan side dish. The highlight of my lunch there was the prawn pulao. OMG...the best I have ever had... The tastiest prawn pulao Ive had in a long long time... Prepared differently with amazing flavors... And I don't even wana get started on the Goan desserts. The Bibinca with ice cream. Is delicious. The caramel custard Yummers... The serradura a must try. Waiting to go back and try some more Goan food there.

Firstly, 4.5/5 but Zomato and their love for round numbers!

Goa lands straight in the heart of Lower Parel – Kamala Mills. Lady Baga is a fantastic alternative for all those cancelled Goa plans.

We went there when co-incidentally was Jive night. The ambiance was LIT AF. Anyway, here’s how the evening unfolded-

We started off with Masala  Nuts, which are perfect accompaniment to your chilled drinks.  I also tried the Calamri Fritto which was absolutely delightful. It was a chili mix so don’t be alarmed by the punch.

Up next were the spectacular Chicken Skewers (recheado),  Mushroom Skewers, Paneer Skewers. The Chicken Skewers are a MUST HAVE. My vegetarian friend loved the mushroom. She found the Paneer skewers a bit too spicy.

We had the Daiquiri which was so beautiful. I was a bit under the weather so I had a Hot Toddy. Pretty strong and sharp, this was. Soothing for the sick soul, indeed. My friend tried the Baga Bong which looked pretty good, and tasted pretty nice as per her.

For our mains, we had the Pork Vindaloo, Chicken Xacuti, Poee, and two veg dishes of which the names I cannot recall for the love of God.

MUST HAVE the Pork Vindaloo – It is sweet and sour and tangy. I loved having this with fresh hot steamed rice. Total comfort food!

The Xacuti was a little too coconutty for me. I don’t prefer a grainy texture in my food so umm, I’d rate this OK OK.

We were pretty stuffed but hey, there is always room for dessert. We decide to go for the Goan classic – Warm Bebinca, with cold creamy vanilla ice-cream. Bebinca has always been one of my favorite desserts. Lady Baga’s in-house creation struck a very pleasant chord with me. MUST HAVE!

Lady Baga is surely a MUST VISIT if you are around Kamala Mills and want a lovely Goan experience.

PS – If you request, they might dish up a Ros Omlette for you too!

Go figure!

The music makes you feel like you're in Goa. The food gives you a satisfactory high! The drinks are pretty decent. But the overall feel of the place on weekends especially makes you feel great and helps wind down the stress aid the week. I've been here a couple of times, and all were walkin. That's what I liked about the place. Although some friends have complained about not being able to get a reservation over the weekend which is kinda unfair. But most places do that nowadays.

I got no clue why this restaurant doesn't have a 4.9 or 4.8 or atleast a 4.7 rating. Because it deserves so!

Right from the staff to the chef, the fish and prawns all were just perfect. I was so involved in relishing the food and enjoying my time there that I completely forgot to click anything.

You will also a get a hint of Goa there as a small part has a "sand flooring". And eating seafood with sand below your feet is always a good idea.

We had ordered: Prawn Samosa(regular sized samosas stuffed with prawns masala), Fish Caldin(pomfret in delicious gravy) and Prawns Pulao. Loved them so much that I won't mind actually ordering them again but then I also want to relish their other dishes too !

Also it's always good to have a Zomato Gold membership. Got a discount of ₹500 . Couldn't have asked for a more satisfying evening.

If you want to experience the joy of authentic Goan food in Mumbai, then Lady Baga ranks first in the same. It's not just the menu which boasts of an exquisite meal but even the ambience and decor here. Shacks on the outside as well as on the inside, this place has a colorful and beachy vibes with a wooden chair frame and extremely comfortable seating. We were in love with the boho chic furniture and casual vibes.

We started off with the Masala nuts. These were the most delicious masala nuts that we have ever tried. With the perfect amount of lemon, onions, tomatoes and a batter covering the same, it had a delicious balance of crunch and softness. It was a treat.

We even tried the Onion rings. Crispy fried batters of onion slices which were coated in a batter and spices. They had a balance of spicy and flavorful. They were too good. They even had two different types of tikkis, Corn cheese tiki and a Jain special Plaintain and dates tikki. The corn cheese tikki was soft, gooey and well balanced. It had a sort of crunch, cheesy and runny centre as well as a hint of spice. It tasted perfect with the mint chutney served at the side. The Plaintain and date tikkis were sweet, spicy and tangy with a soft centre which was quite filling. Even this one had a side of spicy and tangy chutney. It tasted really delicious and is a very good combination.

Following this, we had one of the authentic Goan marinations, the Cafreal chargrilled panner skewers and the Recheado chargrilled mushroom skewers. The amount of spice in this one was extremely high and it left you craving for more. It was absolutely delicious but extremely spicy. The skewers were soft and tasted well made with slices of bell peppers, onions and more. The mushrooms had a juicy, spicy as well as sweet taste with a touch of smokiness. It was amazing and had a great touch to it.

We gulped down our meal with a Goa special Fisherman's tonic and a Baba O'Riley. The Fisherman's tonic had a base of kokum and gin blended with a touch of curry. It is a local favourite and sits well with Goan food. The Baba O'Riley was their version of the whiskey based sour drink. It had honey with a touch of grapefruit and bitters. It was decent enough and we enjoyed this one with our starters.

We even tried the Lady Baga's bubbly which is an apple based iced tea with wobbly jelly making for the bubbly part. It was not sweet and tangy persay but made for a good one to start with. It was quite refreshing. The Lemonade Twist was another basic mocktail with a tangy orange and grenadine mix with a hint of pineapple and fizz.

For the mains, we had quite a spread. Starting off, we had the Friday special Goan veg curry. This was followed by Channa tendli, Bhendi kokum, Sorak and sides of Steamed rice and Poee. The Curry was loaded with veggies and had a coconut base but with a flavor of kokum. It had a high content of flavor as well as veggies. Cauliflower, carrots, beans and more were a part of the same and it was brilliant.

The channa tendli was a dry one with the flavor of Chana and spice of tendli. It tasted really good. Although, we were quite skeptical of this combination, it actually turned out to be good. The Bhendi and Kokum was loaded with onions and a fried version of lady finger with a slight flavor of kokum. It tasted very good with the poee. It is a traditional Goan bread which is made in a special manner here and baked locally.

The Sorak was a Goan version of Sambar which was made sour with the kokum and had a tomato base. The sticky rice tasted wonderful with it and it was a very homely, subtle and feel good combination. Their mains were not frilly and loaded with cheese but very homely and delicious.

For the desserts as well, we tried the Bebinca with Ice-cream and Serradura . The bebinca is a traditional Goan cake layered with caramel and chocolate which had a texture like that of a flan and it was served with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious and had a great balance of flavors. The Serradura was layers of whipped cream and condensed milk with crumbles. It was rich, creamy and slightly crunchy with the crumbles.

Overall, it was an amazing experience with a touch of Goa and a beautiful vibe of the food as well as the place. We totally loved it. It is a must try for Goan food and if you are looking for some other favorites for fulfilling your cravings, they have the same as well. We strongly recommend this one to everyone.

Goa in Mumbai - could it be any better? If you've never been to Goa, then Lady Baga will give you the perfect Goan vibes.

Recommendations: Masala Nuts (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), Plantain & Date Tikki (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), Chargilled Paneer Skewers, Friday Veg Goa Curry, Bebinca, Baga Bong (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

Now, we happened to visit this place on a 'Jive Night' and it couldn't have been better. The vibe is so lively that you wouldn't be able to stop yourself from tapping your feet. The ambience transports you to a Goan shack replete with the garden outside and the graffiti-filled interiors inspired. The food is also Goan inspired and unlike a common notion, there is amazing stuff for vegetarians. The 'Masala Nuts' are the perfect bar-snacks one could ask for - spicy, crunchy and tasty. The Plantain & Date Tikki was a surprise stunner. And in drinks, the Baga Bong is highly recommended.

We recently went here for a shoot and we were absolutely in LOVE with the food. As soon as you walk in, you’ll literally feel as if you’ve entered one of those super exclusive hip shacks on a pristine secluded beach at Goa. Before entering, we were greeted by a rather colourful purple volkswagen van right out of scooby doo! Upon going further, the restaurant has an outdoor seating to help you reminisce your time in Goa, complete with sand beneath your feet and twinkling fairy lights overhead! Unfortunately, due to the monsoon, we couldn’t sit outside but once we entered the wonderfully decorated restaurant, we didn’t get as much FOMO. Lady Baga has some of the sweetest staff we’ve ever met and that just made our day even better. The ever smiling manager, Sasha, made sure all the guests were well taken care of and had a hassle free experience while dining there. The servers too recommended some of their best seller dishes depending on what basic taste group we were looking for! They answered all our doubts about which ingredients would be in a certain dish or why it’s called that and explained to us the lesser known traditions in Goan families; all with a smile. We had a hearty meal with both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. For me, being a vegetarian, I would 110% visit this place just for their Cafreal Paneer Skewers. These are the other dishes we tried:
1. Langos Chicken Kheema - Amaze
2. Recheado Chicken Skewers - Worth the wait
3. Prawn Pulao - Heavenly
4. Friday Special Veg Curry- Comfort food
5. Bhindi Kokum - Bhindi lovers unite
6. Bebinca -  THIS HAS OUR HEART

I visited Lady Baga and ordered a Paneer starter and a mushroom starter both very tasty. Even the main course which was Goan curry with rice was really nice n unique.
The only problem was that the service was way to slow and when I told them to remove the service charge because per government of India service charge is not mandatory they did not agree for the same and levied the service charge.
However apart from the service charge issue the ambience and food is really good you can surely visit the restaurant.

On the streets of Mumbai I was loitering around with a mood to have Clams. 5 minutes walking from my guest house I found a food park named Oasis and there at the first left hand there was Lady Baga inviting me with the Goan theme. As I approached asking for clams, the chef himself stepped forward and assured that he can serve me clams with Poi. I had a Corona to enhance the taste further. Lady Baga is truly a replica of a pretty beach shack somewhere in Goa. This place is situated in the hustle and bustle of the massive Kamala mills but once u enter In here you are immediately transported to Goa, the land of the hippies. The ambience, the staff, the food, the crowd.....everything is so Goan here. This is the place to zone out on some chilled beers and some hot goan food. The taste of the food here is extremely homely, so this is exactly what you will find in most Goan homes. The same spices and ingredients are used and the recipes are also passed down from generations to generations. Chef Aloysius aka Alu is a sweet, cool, happy, cute, chubby chef who attended us cheerfully. We loved all his food to the core. We loved him too. Extremely warm guy. The food I we tried is as follows;

Starters
————
1. Masala nuts. So these were peanut crispiest tossed with some onions and tomatoes and sprinkled with some hot Goan spices. Was absolutely captivating and addictive. We could not stop digging into this bowl.
2. Char Grilled Paneer Cafreal skewers. Hot hot hot. If your like your food hot and spicy this is it. Liked it but could not relish it beyond a point.
3. Char Grilled Mushroom rechado skewer. Again an extremely spicy and tangy appetiser. Was good.
4. Paneer grilled skewer Rosemary. This one was the best of the 3 skewers we tried. A nice mild flavour. Was delectable.
5. Mix of Corn & Cheese tikki / Plantain & Date tikki. Both the tikkis were fantastic. I’m surprised how plantains can taste so good cos I really enjoyed the slightly sweet flavour here. The cheese and corn tikkis were definitely the best ever. Especially loved the curry flavoured dip that chef alu served with this. Fabulous.

Mains
———
1. Friday veg goan curry. Loved this one as it tasted like a sambhar. This is what Goans male on days when no fish is eaten. Ideally combined with steam rice, Pav or poee.
2. Chana tendli. Never in my life have I enjoyed tendli so much. Superb dish. A coconut and kokum punch was just too good.
3. Sorak. Best curry of the meal. Absolutely tangy and mouth watering. Loved it beyond expectations. Never knew Goan veg food could taste so heavenly.
4. Kokum bhendi. Fantastic again. If u want to go for an off beat meal from your routine then this place justifies it completely.

Dessert
————
Serradura. So this was fresh cream with condensed milk and some crumbled cookies layered in a tall cup. Was quite a basic one but definitely good. Mildly sweet and perfect.

Beverages
—————
We tried 3 variations, one had ginger extracts which was the best and the other had a berry flavour perhaps while the third was the absolute best which was fresh coconut water with some cherries used for garnish. We loved it.

Overall a fantastic experience and this was already my second visit here and I’m sure to be back for much much much more soulfood like the food I just relished here last week.

Yet another restaurant for Goan food? And that too, borrowing the name from the famous “Baga” beach in Goa!

I went to this restaurant with some trepidation, but the overall experience was good.

The decor is funky and a bit over the top — but nothing outlandish. It gives a feeling of being transported from Mumbai to Goa.

For starters, we ordered DSouza Family Chop. It was mutton with bones slapped with fillings of masala and deep fried with batter. It was tasty; but I was a bit disappointed that the menu did not mention that it was deep fried.

For mains, we went for the comfort zone of ordering Chicken Vindaloo with Pav. We were not disappointed. Delicious !

The service was efficient and courteous. But I was a wee bit disappointed with the curt approach of the hostess for the deal I had with me — wouldn’t have happened to me at the real “Baga” beach!

Goa is very famous for it's beaches and what makes these beaches Complete are the Shacks Serving some traditional Goan food out there . Epitomizing a similar environ in Mumbai was enough motivation for us to visit this cute little Shack called Lady Baga. As mentioned already it does full justice to create a nice ambience giving a feel of Baga Beach Shack and what makes it even for appealing is the delicious Goan cuisine served out here . Must mention that there is lots to enjoy for vegetarian like us in this Shack . Staff is very sweet and courteous . A special Thanks to Rahul who made sure that we order the best food and drinks in the house. We loved the following food delicacies of the place . Mushroom Xacuti : A must try for all Mushroom lovers. Vegetable rissois: Pockets stuffed with Corn and Cheese which were nicely bended with Goan spices . The Best Starter for the eve . Just go for it , I m sure you won't regret . Goan Dal : Yellow Dal Tempered with garlic red chilli . This again was one of the best items served to us . Superbly palatable and made an ultimate combination with the coconut rice . Cocktails : Baga Bong : White rum and dark rum passion fruit and grape juice . This was an enticing drink with an amazing blend of Flavours. Ginger Man : Scotch , tamarind and ginger . Indeed a classic combination giving a nice warmth to your throat . The drink goes a bit spicy though due to the tinge of ginger in every sip. Baba O' Riley : Bourbon with honey grape fruit juice and some bitters . A typical delight for all Bourbon lovers out there . Hick Hick Hurray : Beer with rasberry and Sprite . A very few places including this one serves a luscious beer cocktail . Goes extravagantly well with all starters. Acid test : Shots Time . Goa in Mumbai is the perfect description of this place! With a shack type vibe and some psychedelic songs, this could be the perfect place for a peaceful evening. The food here is heavily inspired by Goa and some of the dishes are par excellence. The bar nibbles are the best I've had so far, to be honest. Even the drinks are pretty good. Wednesday or Thursday evenings are jive nights, where people gather to learn or dance Jive. Eventually by 10 pm the place gets crowded and the peppy jive music turns to blockbuster songs and the party begins. A good place to chill with friends.

So yes can say one of the best locations in town. (4.5/5) Theme- Who doesn’t like goa? Hardly anyone. Here they have managed to build a theme of the goa. Goan theme restaurants are very few in Mumbai I feel. (5/5) Ambience- A perfect suit to their theme. Entrance got little space with sand to give a beach look/feel. Entrance got few of the souvenirs from goa which gives really a goan vibes. Lights, walls are perfectly matching as goan look is given to them. Seating is made just similar to the seating what we have in the shacks of goa. Wall behind the bar gives the perfect look of the goan beaches. In all can say really a well thought interiors and it’s matching to the theme by 100%. Lighting is bright enough and this restaurant will have charm of its own in day light and after sunset too. (4.5/5) Food and Beverage- This is what we talk about when we go to goa isn’t it. Enjoying the beach or swimming pool along with a finger food and lots of alcohol is what goa is all about for me. Food menu really resembles to lot of the restaurants of goa. Good that they have not only the finger food/starters but also the good amount of main courses in the menu. In Bar section they got lot of cocktails which are served in bottle, can say easy to go type of thinking of goa. Menu is mainly goan with few of the continental products which are twisted. Dessert menu should have bebinca in the menu I feel as that’s the one of the most favourite dessert of goa. (4/5) To sum up- When we say word “Goa” already your mood gets into a wow feel. Goa is always been a fun city to be and really popular for the food and drinks. In Lady Baga they have tried to bring that energy and wow factor of goa in Mumbai, let me tell you they have done it successfully. A must visit place for someone who is missing goa and can’t go there for any reason then yes visit Lady Baga and I am for sure you will enjoy your visit. Go for it friends, strongly recommended.

Wandering in Oasis city on Saturday night and we ended up at Lady Baga finally. The decision turned out to be a great one. We ordered vegetarian food and it was awesome!!! The captain and server were very nice and friendly, helped us decide the order. The price is reasonable too. I strongly recommend this place for everyone to go once and enjoy the lovely food.

Had a delicious dinner, but interior feels a bit like a cheap tiki shack. We had the mutton curry, prawn curry, and pumpkin main courses. All were very delicious and had authentic, unique flavors. The mutton was so tender. The red rice had a nice chewy texture. The coconut rice was very fragrant but competed with the curries a bit. We tried the Portuguese dessert with condensed milk and whipped cream. It was inedible- the cream was too heavy and the crumble was more like a powder, so it didn’t help break up the texture. The manager was very kind and had us try the chocolate pudding which was absolutely delicious. The rum cut the sweetness nicely. I had the coconut water mojito, which was very strong. Would have been nice if it was on a night out, but it wasn’t very drinkable for a casual Sunday dinner with the parents.

Good food, smiling and enthusiastic staff, interesting ambience, non-intrusive music. The prices are a bit above moderate, but still worth it for the experience: Few lounge type restaurants keep the music low enough to actually have a conversation. The outdoor area / smoking zone is laid out with a Goa beach theme, which is refreshing amidst the mad rush of Mumbai's Patel business district. There may be a waiting list to be seated, so reservations are a good idea especially on working day evenings: The office crowd clearly likes Lady Baga as a place to unwind and grab a drink after a tough day.

Lady Baga is Beach themed restaurant newly opened at kamala mills lowerparel mumbai ..Baga beach being the most famous beach in Goa.This restaurant is kind of tribute to Goan shacks and their wow beaches. It literally brings Goa to mumbai. The staff clothing, beach set up at the entrance, photos on the wall.Everything is typical Goan style. A special mention for the projector set up by the bar showcasing beach and sea view. The food ingredients used in preparation of food are also sourced from GOA to retain the authenticity of taste. Coming to variety of dishes i tried here Drinks Kokum cooler -A warm welcome by serving a kokum cooler.Refreshing and a drink with antioxidant properties which is extremely beneficial for health. Acid test - 2 tequila shaped bottles presented on cubes of ice.1st being tamarind flavoured and 2nd being kalakhatta flavour.A nice sweet, sour, tangy taste with jalapeno fusion in it..This drink definitely passes my acid test. Vodka is added in both of them .If anybody prefers non alcoholic its prepared without vodka fusion .My favourite drink of all i tried.Highly recommended by me We like big coconuts and We cannot lie - A vodka & coconut water combination drink with litchi ,lime and mint. .Absolutely colourful, different and original i must say.Extremely refreshing drink.GOA STYLE. Lady baga's bubbly -Lady baga's version of ice tea.A nice ice bubble tea with infusions of apple juice, sprite, tea and orange jelly.I simply loved it . Starters Chilli lime potato -Its one of my like dish from indo-chinese cuisine. The best part about it being potatoes were extremely cripsy, fried and tossed in sweet chilli sauce .I enjoyed trying it with their inhouse made curry leaf mayonaisse and hot sauce. Vegetabe Rissiois - A Portugese speciality starter.Nicely crusted breadcrumbed fried roll stuffed with cilantro, mint, cheese and corn filling. Vegetable chilli fry - A nice flavourful tongue tickling appetizer. It had baby corn mushrooms and paneer with mushrooms ,onions, pepper and spices..I quite enjoyed it. Rissois was my personal favourite of the starters i tried here Main course I decided to try the simple and satisfying authentic goan style rice ,dal Veg caldin kurry -Made from coconut curry speciality dish of Goa.Caldin made with fresh coconuts.Extremely simple preparation but very delicious with peas dressing and some mustard rice served to enjoy caldin kurry with. Goan dal -This was a masoor dal curry, lentil recipe..It was little spicy.Speciality dal of Goa .I LOVED IT.Extremely satisfying, gluten free and nut free Aubergine and Green bean Ambotik - I simply loved it.A dry preparation of brinjal and long bean ambotik.A nice spicy and tangy curry.Dry chilly used in it and spices well maintained with use of tamarind. Desserts Serrudura - A popular portugese dessert.A form of sawdust pudding.A combination of whipped cream and crumbled tea biscuits and milk.Superb prepearation Creme caramel L' orange -Zest of orange is used in this dessert to give it a fresh citrus flavour .Its more of a custard dessert with layer of caramel on top . cinamon added in it took taste to a new level I loved both the desserts!! Overall a great place to experience. It has a great ambience, good music and delicious vegetarian , continental and sea food Worth a visit.Check it out Saumil shah
