Excellent food & Ambience....
Must visit .........
This restaurant is a great place to go with family. It's kids friendly. The staff goes out of the way to make guests happy and satisfied. Food is authentic Punjabi and delicious.
Amazing place to dine out with you family. It is close to my house thought of checking it out.
Ambiance: ambiance of this place is decent nothing too fancy the place is quite spacious
Service:The service of this place is really good inspite of being rush time. The order was fast and the staff was very polite
food here is absolutely great compared to what we pay the quantity was good as well i have no complaint about the food my family loved it.
This place serves epic Chicken tikka masala, Chicken Barta, Chicken Stuffed masala roast with Butter naan.. the food is out of the world and you will visit this place again and again!!
We had a great time dining at this place after ages. Food taste has remained the same , prices are steep. But great food ! Excellent service ! We tried the masala papad, chilly paneer , tandoori chicken , promfret fish , Palak paneer and the sheekh Kebab masala ,
The chicken was well marinated and the fish was fresh too! Looking forward to dining there again . Okie
Bhuna chicken was the best.. we would come again to the restaurant just to eat it.. services were bit slow.. we also had chicken biryani which was good.. not too spicy just right
Very tasty food and nice ambiance. Went for lunch and wanted to make it quick as it was a working day. We requested for fast service and we did get that but no compromise on the taste of food. The dishes were very tasty and fresh. The tandoori mushrooms were juicy and the dum aloo Kashmiri was superb. The authentic dum aloo Kashmiri has a lot of sauf In it and this was exactly made in authentic way with a good amount of sauf. Would love to visit again and try more dishes
If you are looking for some great north indian foood with some calm and serene ambience, this is the right choice of place! The staff is very polite, the service is very good!
Must try the butterchicken and the seekh kabab
Good place for a nice punjabi dinner. Sophisticated looks and feel. Ambience is nice and quiet, courteous staff, good service.
We ordered chicken chilly for starters it was delicious and chicken biryani for maincourse, it was good as well.
So one of the evening when you clearly know what you would like to eat. I was craving for some yummy spicy boneless chicken and butter rotis. The typical standard mughlai meal and I must say made a great choice by visiting this restaurant. The food was served fast without any delays. The chicken was cooked to perfection and as per my liking. The ambience was calm and simple for a regular dinner night. Service was prompt. Definitely recommend
We have been going to this place for years and this is our fixed Sunday lunch once a month. Personal fav is Bhuna chicken and butter chicken with rumali roti or butter naan..
I liked the service and food. A good family restaurant, nowadays every place has loud music, drinks, and all of that, it’s a great place to go with my parents and niece and all.. They also served good jain food and food for children.
Would definitely recommend this place for a good dinning experience
A place to visit with family having fine ambience. The food was tasting good but the quantity seemed to be less. The service was quite OK.
Had Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Kebab, Prawns Tandoori, Mutton Biryani and Prawns Biryani.
Food - 4/5
Ambience - 3/5
Service - 3.5/5
The place has a familial ambience. Preferred for family dining.
We ordered Dal Makhani, crispy bhindi masala, corn tikkis and they all turned out be great in taste.
The quality and the quantity of the food was fine, the rating for 4 is because the menu seems on the expensive side.
Rest the service is very cordial and homely. Worth a visit!
Shaandaar in every sense. Well monitored service, I ordered something that wasn't in the menu, the Steward accepted the order smilingly and sure enough the chef didn't disappoint us either. Strategically located next to shopper's stop. Great for bigger gatherings. Good value for money. Ask for less of cream and ghee, just in case you have those issues.
What a saviour this place when we didn't get a table at Bombay Adda and Jalwa. Offers superb authentic North Indian food. We tried cheese aloo tikki, veg kadai, khasta roti and onion kulcha. All the dishes were tasty and great. Quick service and courteous staff.
For as long as I have been in Bandra and as many times as I passed by The Great Punjab on Linking Road, it had been but a sign. This past weekend, it became a real place that I visited. A friend from the burbs suggested that we have dinner at The Great Punjab.
As impressive as the signage is, the entrance is somewhat obscure. As one enters, there is an anteroom, which is really functional. Here one gets to make an entry into the main restaurant without surprising any of the seated guests or feeling uncomfortable barging in from the street. So, other than the signage, street appeal is somewhat curtailed with the obscure entrance but then redeemed with the anteroom. The restaurant itself is narrow but the seating is very clever and gives the feeling of a reasonably sized room. Ambiance gets a two thumbs up.
I had got there before my friend, so I did the most natural thing, I think, that one would do on a scorching day. I had a tall cold one and it refreshed my parched innards as it found its way. I was feeling good. I scanned through the elegant and sumptuous menu. I also took the time to have a chat with the friendly waitstaff to understand the layout of the menu. Pretty soon my friend showed up and after some social niceties, ordered our meal.
First off, was the lassi, a must-have at any Punjabi restaurant. The acid test was that it was silky smooth and sans the curdled solids. The sweetness was just right, just enough to balance the sourness. We were off to a good start.
Then we deliberately weighed in favor of the appetizers: the Fish Tikka, the Reshmi Kabob and the Seekh Kabob. The Fish Tikka were these morsels of delicately spiced Indian Salmon (Rawas); the fish was nice and flaky and had taken in the might of those spices – it was so good! Then came in the Reshmi Kabobs; I loved it because of the pieces of chicken were moist and there was only this hint of Indian spices. When I thought it could not get any better, the Seekh Kebob made its debut. In my view, the Seekh Kabob is the bellwether of the quality of food served in Indian restaurants. Here, at The Great Punjab, the Seek Kabob did not disappoint. The kebobs were moist and juicy and were fortified with flavor, tad bit spicy for my taste; but what good is Indian food without a punch to it.
The main course, we decided, had to bear the badge of homecooked food. So, we ordered Rajma (red kidney beans); Kulcha (Indian bread) and Raita (a curd and vegetable dish). The kulcha was soft and divine and it was coated with coriander and onion seeds. The Rajma was the perfect accompaniment and was flawless in texture, taste and balance. The vegetable raita on the side was the final icing. One could not get more home-made food than this.
For dessert, we ordered the Kulfi. It reminded me of the rustic Kulfi, we were used to from street vendors, several years ago. The key to a good Kulfi are the following attributes: creaminess, not overpowering sweetness and a no-no is icicles. The Kulfi at The Great Punjab scored on all counts.
So, the food at The Great Punjab gets a no holds barred two thumbs up.
Service matched the quality of food. The waitstaff were not only courteous and attentive, they were also very knowledgeable about the food. They were able to guide us with our ordering; our order perfectly matched our palates. So, Service also gets a thumbs up.
Overall, The Great Punjab had a near perfect score on all counts: Ambiance, Food and Service. Would I go there again? Absolutely! I would also highly recommend this place to my foodie friends.
Me and my wife went at this place... We have ordered prawns tandoor which was good in taste... A very well marinated . After that ordered chicken tikka biryani.. a good portion of chopped chicken and thick gravy of biryani . My wife liked it a lot... a down side was that they do not provided raitha with biryani .
I visited this place for dinner on Valentine's Day with my family. Reached early so could get table of our choice. The staff is courteous and service is fast.
Veg manchow soup was good. Fish tikka (Rawas) was tender and tasty and so was the chicken Reshmi kabab.
Butter chicken was delicious which is my daughters favourite but the best item was the garlic naans and lachha parathas. Right amount of tenderness as well as crispy. One of the best I had in recent time.
Overall a good place with delicious food.

A very good place for a family dinner. Quite pocket friendly. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. What's missing is music. I like the brass utensil in showcase. This place is always overcrowded. Advisable to reserve a table before every visit. Butter chicken, mutton curry and channa masala are the hot sellers here. Food Not greasy, lovely flavor. Dal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer, Naan, And Veg biryani- everything is cooked in true Punjabi style. They provide unlimited complimentary papads and salads along with drinks.
With a name like that had great expectations from their Punjabi food..but it's just okay overall.. decent food..we ordered chicken kalimiri for starters..which were good but nothing great..then bhuna chicken n rumali roti for main course.. bhuna chicken was just ok n roti was very dry.. service is quick.. ambience is decent
Decent food. Nothing compared to the pune one. Pune kp great Punjab is better. Please make improvements in the right aspect for people to keep coming regularly.
Superb ambiance. Excellent service. Amazing food. Loved this place. Been there twice and had great experience both the times. The Kebab served here is a must try. Never had such great kebabs.
Nice place to give quick and tasty dinner
The methi dal tadka, vegetable biryani and Roomali roti are good to try out along with regular items
Extremely warm staff with extremely lovely punjabi food. Decor is also on mild Shades that makes the atmosphere even more lovely. Limited menu, but excellent menu , all the starters are once a try . Dal tadka is so very mashaallah, the curries make even more blissful.
Surely try out this place.
Happy eating!!!!!!!
Great punbaj! As the the name suggest was a gd experiance goin to this place at bandra linking road near shoppers stop.
The place is huge with comfortable seating arrangement, the vibes of the resturant is very calm, the staff is courteous and the service is good and quick, i wen there for a quick meal, jus felt the pricing of the food was lil high but no complaints..over all good exp!
This is one place which has maintained its standards and taste consistently for years now. I have been a regular at The Great Punjab for almost three decades!!!
The food is very authentic and unpretentious , a little too oily though. But I guess it's required. So no complaints there. (Just a remark)
We went for lunch there two days ago. Trust me it was great treat , after eating bland food on a four week vacation in Europe and now dead taste buds!
We had ordered starters which obviously were good but one must order their Aloo Gobhi, which is made brilliantly! Imagine a humble old aloo gobhi tickling your taste buds... No one generally orders this mundane subzi. But it's a must -try at Great Punjab. What's good is that it's been this way for decades...
The rest of the meal was fluffy parathas slobbered with oodles of butter, creamy dal makhani, just the way it should be.
Unobtrusive good service and superb food, with my tummy saying a big thank you for being "real"
Don't change, guys...
Typical Punjabi / Mughlai food and ambience and although a little on the pricier side, still good value for money. Love the Gulab jamun and rabadi.
I have dined here multiple times with family. The food they serve here is hearty and tasty. Reasonable on the pockets the management has made sure that they maintain the desired quality all the time. My favourite item on the menu has to be butter chicken and bheja masala. Definitely recommended restaurant in Bandra for both lunch and dinner. The ambience is extremely cozy and homely. Kudos cheers
Not bad enjoyed the food here and ambience pretty good plus u have the option to skip aSide to grab some nice beers at dejabrew attached to the resturant
Tried Fish Koliwada for starters, Main course -Chicken Peshwari & Mutton Rogan Josh wid roti, n Dessert - Gulab Jamun
The Food was really awsome the Fish was the best part of the meal.... Had a great time having food at The Great Punjab😊😊
After the debacle at Hoppipola, We made it to The Great Punjab. An absolute opposite of What we had experienced at Hoppipola. Very welcoming and courteous staff. The atmosphere is calming and soothing. We had Peshawari Chicken and Butter Naan. Super succulent Naan and the perfectly cooked Chicken with all the spices that made my evening so much better. Totally worth all the moneys spent. While writing this review my mouth is still watering only by thinking about the delicacy. A rich and pleasant experience.
Excellent and delicious food... The staff was courteous and helped us with the menu selections and recommended some very good items to us. Very happy to recommend this place to others.
Fantastic Punjabi food! Ambience was sombre and comforting. The service was impeccable and the restaurant is truly value-for-money. The food definitely stole the show as it was the tastiest desi punjabi food I've had in a long long time. Perfect Indian restaurant experience. I highly recommend it if you're looking for some authentic punjabi khaana.
This place is pretty big but I haven't found it crowded or anything. There's a biggie doing business right next door.
Ambiance is decent with dim lights and stuffy seats.
Staff is quite polite and helpful.
Service is good.
Coming to food, my friend and I had only kebabs that were good but I'd say I've eaten better. They were tender, well marinated, and well cooked. A little pricey affair, though.
We went for lunch here. Our order comprised of: Paneer chilly (starter), Masala Chaaj (drinks), Chicken soup, Mutton Biryani, Mushroom Mutter and Naan. Food was good. Servings were very filling.
To rate on our order:
Food: 4/5
Ambience: 4/5
Service: 4/5
The Great Punjab – an authentic north Indian and mughlai cuisine restaurant located on Linking Road, Bandra. Just as the name suggest, the restaurant specialised in north Indian food, especially Punjabi food. The moment you enter the restaurant, you will realise that restaurant is not that big, with small tables of 4 people on one side and large tables on other side, with a maximum capacity of 50 people. It does seem cramped up for space. The ambience is really nice, with good music going on in the background. The restaurant seems really clean and tidy with the staff also dressed up properly and very courteous.
Since the restaurant specialises in North Indian food, we decided to try the Chicken Tandoori and the Chicken Achari in starters. The tandoori was really amazing, with the size of the Chicken pieces quite big and it was cooked to perfection, as I was able to taste the flavours till the last bite. The Chicken achari was a bit rubbery, but was tasty. It was slightly undercooked, otherwise would have been an amazing dish.
In the mains, we decided to go for the Butter Chicken and Butter Naan. This place serves the best butter chicken that I have had till date. The dish was super tasty with perfect amount of spiciness and sweetness in the dish. The Chicken was soft and juicy, really adding to the flavours of the dish. A must try for all the Butter Chicken lovers.
In the end we ordered the Boneless Chicken Biryani. The dish was also tasty and since it was cooked in the traditional handi, the flavours had seeped in it and it smelled really amazing.
The only negative of this place is that the quantity of the dishes is very less whereas the prices of the dishes is quite high. They really need to work on that.
That is the reason for giving a rating of 3.5/5.
Note:
1) Cost for 2 people - ₹1800 - ₹2000.
2) The place offers valet parking service, which is a necessity considering the location of the restaurant.
Cheers!
While it may not appear from the outside, the place has a posh ambience. The courteous staff also gives you the same feeling. On the food part, I ordered Veg Biryani and it was one of the most amazing biryanis I have ever had, probably the best till date. It is highly recommended to try the place at least once if you are a food lover.
One of the Best Butter Chicken i have had in recent times.
This place is known for one of the Finest North Indian food in and around Bandra.
prices are high which is Surprising - but this place is Really good.
Mushroom Tikka - never have that but for a change tried it and it was good. Blend of Mushrooms with spices and Herbs barbecued and served. Good.
Chicken Tikka - Just about Ok. A bit rubbery , didn't like it frankly. Marination was ok. Boneless.
Fish Kalamiri - Try it soft melts in the Mouth , peppery. Good.
Butter Chicken - wow.
Tangy/spicy/juicy. YUm
Dal Fry and Rice.
When at the Great Punjab do try their Butter chicken its heaven.
Go for it.

Then quantity served here as per the price is very less , we ordered for a non veg platter which was really not as per the expectations .. And a veg grill, pinacolada mocktail which was again very watery usually it has to be a little creamy .. and peshawari chicken and mushroom mutter Along with punjabi roti ki tokri for the main course ..
Ambience was good , taste of the food served was good , service was good ..
Great Punjab is what you go to if your mum wants a day off from the kitchen. I've been eating here since 1990, and the food and service have been consistently exemplary. The wait-staff is very friendly and the owner is always around and interacts with patrons asking after them. Their menu offers a healthy spread of choices; delicious curries and dals made to taste as authentic as possible. They also make preparations to order if one wants something specific. They have a weight watchers' menu too! The decor is simple and elegant, the music isn't too loud and makes for a great ambience overall. If you haven't been here already, you are definitely missing out on a landmark Bandra establishment.
Definitely sample their Dal Makhani, Murgh Tikkas, Palak Pander, Crispy Bhindi Fry, and Tawa Chicken!
Been eating here ever since I was a little kid .
Same taste .
Gr8 all around.
Butter chicken is a must have .
All the best team great punjab !
Stick to the Bandra Mumbai outlet. Can't vouch for their branches. The ambience is comfy and laid back, service good and prompt. Must enjoy a drink with their Indian starters. Their classic tandoor main dishes are flavoursome and reminds one of the old world Punjabi food taste and charm of this old restaurant. Recently visited after many many years, the food is still upto to their previous high standards and quality, the prices just right. A must visit when in Bandra. The Sardarji owner is always around supervising and the place gets crowded at dinner time specially on the weekends.
We went to Great Punjab to celebrate our friends' anniversary. Upon arrival, we were escorted to the party section, and courteously greeted by the servers.
The starters we had ordered ( hara bara kebab, paneer chilli, mushroom chilli, dahi kofta) were really quite tasty. For the mains, we ordered a single butter paneer to start with but ended up finding it too sweet. We then ordered a paneer tikka masala, which was just right after explaining that we didn't want sweet food. The roomali Roti is also excellent.
Overall, a great place to visit, but just make sure to inform the waiters on how exactly you want the food in terms of spice, sweetness, etc.
Long standing restaurant on prominent linking road bandra Mumbai. Been a reliable place for good authentic north indian traditional style. Cramped layout which needs some rectification. Adequately manned so service levels are decent and turnaround is quick. Service is bit rustic and place has high decibels as it has long tables too and primarily encourages high commentary amongst guests due to this. Food is good and has been consistent over several decades but they do have an opportunity to make it fine dining with some innovation and redesigned bar and food menu. Give you a good loyal experience but for triers of something new the place may have less recall. Will place it as reliable and not trendy with times as yet. The opportunity for upgrade needs to come from guests and not from management. Can improve APC by over 30% easily.
This place is perfectly located on linking road just besides shoppers stop.
Ambience is good. Sitting arrangement is spacious.
Been there quite a few times. Every time i had a good time.
Nice place for families to spend some quality time together.
Both veg and non veg food are up to the mark.
Service is excellent. Though little heavy on the pocket ...its worth it !!
It justifies their perspective of giving you best of your time.
Recommended 👍👍
Spacious place with good punjabi food. Feels complete relax n refreshed like being in Punjab. Lovely soothing ambience. Awesome. Chak De Phatte!
Old world charm, that is what is instantly felt on entering here. Elegant and clean ambiance, very polite and attentive staff, good food with adequate portions but a bit higher on the price scale. Excellent North Indian and Punjabi fare that is a bit difficult to find in Mumbai. Non vegetarians have a wide variety of items to choose from Mughlai cuisine,my friends say it is all fantastic :) Have tried Punjabi Kadhi, Kashmiri Dum Aloo, Veg Kadhai, Khasta Roti, Butter Naan, Roomali Roti and every dish has been just perfect in terms of flavors, spices. Khasta Roti is made of pure Ghee and it shows in every bite so health conscious people might not want to order that, though the mix of health and hearty North Indian/ Punjabi food is a bit of you know what :D
Really good place for a family dinner :)
the great punjab located right next to shoppers stop.Ambience is great, staff was helpful though takes lot of time to bring food or cheque..we given the order dal makhani and chicken butter masala with tandoori roti. and i love the punjabi foods.. and service is also good..
Good North Indian food can be hard to get in Mumbai, but this place delivers to perfection.
Every gravy item I've had here has been superb...from the butter chicken to the malai kofta.
The veg seekh kebab I had were underwhelming, but in all fairness, I'm yet to eat any veg kebabs that I really loved, so maybe it's just me.
Here's a suggestion: Irrespective of what dish you order, have the garlic naan to go with eat. It'll change your life.
One more thing: the service is superb. Very polite and ever present. The couple sitting on the table behind me ordered bread butter. For dinner. And these guys took that order with a straight face. Respect.
Pros
Nice Ambience
Food being less oily
Comfortable seating
Nice host who assisted us well
Cons
Need to be lil more quick
Less options for children (non-spicy)
THE GREAT PUNJAB :- As the name suggested, this restaurant one should really visit for either dinner or Lunch. If you are looking for something really Punjabi flavour then this is the place to be in suburbs. A good family restaurants with amazing taste. If you prefer alchol then they serve salad with chat masala which makes yur drink more special. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
It's a great place for punjabi food..the chicken bharta is a must try 😀 the tikkas were mouth watering and perfectly cooked...ambience was 4/5
Service 5/5
A simple yet elegant place with delicious food to get your taste buds asking for more. Had ordered chicken platter which is well proportioned for two people along with dal makhani & steamed rice with one roti. As for the dessert it was Kulfi & cassata all added up to a pretty decent amount.
I'd been here with my friends. First of all the restaurant has an amazing ambience. Secondly, I had the best chicken at this place. It is definitely one of my favourite restaurants.
This is the best meal we had in our week in Mumbai, a great choice as we were just leaving for the airport. We were there just after they opened, so we were the only ones there for a while, and the service was impeccable. We ordered Dal Makhani, Chicken Tandoori, Butter Nan, and rice, and every single bite was delicious. I wish we had found the restaurant earlier in our visit as I would happily have eaten there again.
Located next to Shoppers Stop Bandra, this is a perfect place to have a nice relaxed meal. Food is a little on the expensive side, but the quality, quantity and ambiance makes it all worth. A must visit with family or friends if your looking for fine dining.
Great Food Quality and Quality wise. Nice ambiance too staff is polite and helpful. Loveddd my veg biryani n some garlic chicken starter 💖💖💖 but hated aaloo starter n sent it back so they did their best to fix the problem. Which was sweet. Place is very clean and staff uses masks too. Overall very good experience .
Good food good service. Owner was kind enough to offer us good seating as we were with infant

Great place for having north indian food. Service is fast though they have to work on it a bit in terms of communication & serving quality. Ambiance is simple & contemporary north indian culture themed. One can have variety of veg & non veg cuisines along with alcohol. Soup & biryani variety is very limited. Good for small & big groups & families. It also has a small banquet hall for a gathering of about 30-40 people. Moderately priced, they accept Credit/Debit cards.
Good Resturant- old place though, renovation is on going- ordered tandoori in red and green.. The red one was very good
Good restaurant! I felt the pricing was on high side but yes the food was nice! The service was good as well! Felt a bit slow but still sometimes it takes time so can understand!
My family had a wonderful time!
A great choice for a meal in Mumbai. Tasty food and the service was impeccable.
It's a rooftop place. Awesome decor, great variety of food and alcohol. It's quite casual and family friendly place. Overall good vibe.
Lovely PUNJ-AB food, beautiful setting, very good service.
Cool place, we have done a birthday party decoration at this palce, nice staff, good food, party place......most recommended
It is quite near to linking road , the food here is quite average the best part is this restaurant is near to shopping centres where most of the public go, I had tandoori and was good but the rice wa average
Very delicious food and cool service with healthy environment.
If you are looking for North Indian food in Bandra. Please go and eat.
Dal Makhani and paneer kadai are just wowww ❤️
This is one place which i have been frequenting with friends and family since the early 2000. We have seen the restaurant change hands from father to son and must admit the quality of food still remains the same. Have walked in after years and ordered the same food just because we had that desire for the same taste from our last visit of the Kheema and dal and found it there! Amazing and very rare these days.
Much to my dismay realized during this visit that they have discontinued serving alcohol and its been a few years since that has happened. Guess missed a good G&T with their Punjabi masala papad. I would stick with their tried and tested servings of meat, chicken and dal with lovely rotis. For vegetarians their paneer is excellent, i do like the tandori paneer under appetizers. Biryani is not their forte.. It does pinch your pocket (per head Rs 1000 +/- depending on if prawns ordered) but worth a visit!
Good food and service.
Very quiet on weekdays. If you wanna go for a family dinner or something. It's good place.
Food here is amazing and polite staff.
