This is a small placed by area but it will definitely win your heart with its service and the touch of Kerala delicacies. The first thing about this place is you need the waiter to explain you the menu since the dishes are named in Malayam language. So we ordered Surmai Fish Fry, their famous Kerala Parotta, Prawns Coconut Curry and a dessert i.e Payasam as complimentary. There was not even one dish that we ordered and wasn't as expected. Overall a pocket friendly place and worth every penny. Especially for Chicken, Fish & Parotta.
Theeram Restaurant is a perfect place to satisfy your South Indian food cravings. They have most authentic dishes from down south and the best part is that they provide with equal options in vegetarian and non vegetarian section. The prices are very low and when I ordered I received 30% off, so prices mentioned below are after discount. This place is really amazing to order for the entire family.

The best dish from our order was Chicken Vartharachathu which was good in quantity, perfect in taste and the entire coconut flavor made it amazing when eaten with rice. Thattu Dosa re very soft and the chutney along with it makes it the perfect combination. The restaurant should have provided higher quantity of Chutney considering we ordered 3 dosas. The best bread will still be Kerala Parotta. It is absolutely worth every penny you pay for and with any vegetable or chicken dish, it acts like the perfect comforting partner. The Veg. Thali has wide variety of food but does not come with any bread, so make sure you order that separately.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I am all ready to place my next order soon!

One of the best Kerala/ south indian restaurant in Mumbai with great Hospitality. Cheers to the whole crew who making customers happy even in this covid-19 situation.
Really unique Kerala cuisine. I loved their appams and the coconut based curry that I tried here. Seating area isn’t much but the food is tasty. There are also typical Kerala desserts like the deep fried banana and coconut banana which you can try.
Visited this outlet few months back at that time I didnt got time to write a review.
So my point is like ,this is a pure kerala restaurant which serves kerala cuisine.
We have tried kappa biriyani which was awsome then biriyani was ok ok
Wanna have South Indian food at any time of the day, Theeram is a great place to try. Its a small but cute restaurant located in Kalina, Santacruz east. They have all kinds of south Indian food, and also a few fastfood dishes. My favourite here is the Thali. Its a complete South Indian meal with 3 different sabjis, papad, Rice, Sambhar or Rassam or Fish Curry whichever you like and at the end small bowls of pysum. Its unlimited and very much reasonable. At breakfast time, I prefer having a ghee roast sada dosa and a plate of thattu dosa. 1 plate has 3 pcs of thattu dosa which is served with sambhar and 2 chutneys which is quite enough for 2 people. Its worth trying food wise. The ambience is pretty decent upstairs. Service is quite slow. Overall - 4/5
Amazing food. Great ambience. Thali with fish fry is awesome
Visited here few weeks back , food is genuinely made in kerala style and is not very expensive as well.. i have visited couple of kerala restaurants in mumbai as well ,among those , this one is the best.will definitely come again.
A simple and unadorned little place situated in one of the by lanes of kalina that serve food from Kerala. We had the prawn molly and veg stew (both coconut milk based gravies) with appam and kerala style parota. It was subtle home style cooking; low on oil and spices just how I like it. The portion size is very good and it is surprisingly reasonable. Will go back to try more from their menu.
It was ccosy place and with my kind of comfort food ... my friends colleagues who stays in kalina suggested this place...
We were floored by the tasty food ... it was just perfect and what we imagined
If you are craving for “Ghar Jaisa” kerala-ite khana this is a place to be...
Amazing food so 😊satisfied ❤❤❤definitely gonna come back to try other dishes
Awesome place to have kerala food, one of the best places to have south Indian food.
The staff is so courteous, he will guide you through all the menu n give suggestions n talk politely explaining each n every dish
A must visit for those on the hunt for South Indian cuisine. This is possibly the best Kerala restaurant I've been to in Mumbai. The food tastes authentic. The meals, Parotta, appam, and biriyani (All malabar style) reminds me of my home in Kochi.
The veg curries I've tried have all been satisfying. Some chicken items like chicken 65 and Kurumulakku puratiyathu are good, though many others like butter chicken etc. were a real dissapointment. I request management to recheck the chicken main courses.
Compared to other good South Indian restaurants in Mumbai, Theeram stands with the best, and it's not too expensive either (Unlike many fake South Indian eateries) A nice interior and quick service. Only visited once though I've been ordering from here atleast twice every week since the past four months.
This place should be featuring in the hidden gems of Mumbai. The best Kerala food or should i be saying Malayalam cuisine in town. I don't know if i am spelling the name right "Chaaako" was an amazing host and very helpful described each and every dish and the preparation, understood the type of taste what we are looking at and gave us the best. We tried fish, prawns and mutton...
But i am hungry for more, soon would be visiting the place again.
We loved this place for its amazing food, friendly service and good prices. Came back several times - the veg & egg biryanis are really good. My fave was the Cherupayar curry.
On our last eve we had the thali on banana leaf which I think gave us an intestinal infection.
Unless it was the emirates food - we’re not 100% sure.
Thankyou:)
A small place located in Santacruz east which has its own speciality of Kerala food. One of the places where you will be getting authentic South Indian and kerela food.
The place is not that big but the way food is prepared and served is really amazing.
It gives you the taste of south which is very nice and subtle. The food tastes like home made as the spices and all is less, so is the Oil put into it
It has a non-ac as well as an AC section.
The food is also very affordable as it is not that expensive.
The unlimited thali starts at 75 rs going upto 96rs.
The food we ordered was:-
Unlimited thali
Surmai molly which is a prawns dish
Appam
Kerela parotha
Coconut juice.
The waiters have a good knowledge about the food and suggestion they gave was good too.
The ambience is decent, upstairs is a small, bit cosy place.
Food was so good
I would really suggest you guys to visit this place.

They serve amazing Kerala food. Great taste but takes time to deliver as they prepare the dish after we place the order, so don't go to eat when you are in hurry. Surmai Fry and Local mutton dish is a must order.
For me it is the best restaurant I have visited till date in Mumbai where you get authentic Kerala Cuisine. As they say don't judge a book by its cover similarly you should not judge this cozy little place by its area and exterior. If you are a true south Indian food lover, trust me this is the place.
Not only I visit this place with friends and colleagues, I also order food from here on and off. My all time favourite is warm Veg Stew, Appam, Idiyappam and Papadum(Kerala style papad). I can say that I have till not had Veg Stew as good as theirs. ( If you do know some other place in Mumbai serving good Veg Stew, do mention in comments). You get amazing fry prawns here too. If we are ordering Non Veg, we always take their Chicken Ularthiyathu ( a spicy chicken preparation which is not very dry neither curried) and Chicken Elakizhi Biryani. Recently I had tried their garlic flavoured chicken curry which they call " Chicken Veluthulli ChathaChathu", I really liked it. For vegetarians you can order there standard Veg Thali which is served on Banana Leaf. For non vegetarians, there is no option for Non-Veg Thali but you can order this Veg Thali along with Non veg dishes like Surmai Fry or anything.
All in all, it's a Paisa vasool place. My ratings:
Food- 4.5/5
Service- 4.5/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Washroom availability - No
Food Price or Value for Money -5/5
So if you are looking for authentic Kerela food at affordable price, this is your place. Take my word, you won't be disappointed.
Theeram
Situated in a narrow lane that takes you to the Our Lady Of Egypt Church in Kalina, Theeram is a small yet famous South Indian restaurant frequented by a lot of food lovers. I tried their Special Theeram Thali along with Surmai and Prawns fry. Just for 79 bucks this thali is inclusive of unlimited rice, 3 veggies, sambhar, rasam, fish curry, papaddam, pickle and payasam. The fish which I ordered was fresh and tasty and was fried in authentic south Indian masala. I ended the meal with their famous tender coconut juice that comes served in a coconut itself. This place is surely worth a visit. I'd recommend you to try this place any day. This place is not only economical but also serves authentic and tasty south Indian food.
An amazing place with the most tastiest food .. their thali was yummm and the fish fry was out of the world .. they have amazing payasam too .. very homily place with some super amazing food .. kerela food lovers or fish lovers must try

This is place is well know for it's South Indian food and kerela parathas . They are really different and worth trying . They have a really nice service and the food they serve is really fresh . The quantity and the quantity of the food is good. Pocket friendly and can be visited with friends and family . Nice place will visit again .
Had ordered mutton Biryani from here and it was really awesome. It was packed in banana leaf and the taste was authentic. Very rarely you get such simple but tasty Biryani. Must try.
Chicken Biryani taste is good . I love South Indian aroma in the food 😍😍😘. Thanks. Good quality also good . Pocket friendly & must visit with family to try authentic South Indian food .
A tiny Kerala restaurant in one of the bylanes of Kalina, Theeram is absolute value for money!
I often have the Theeram special thali here along with some fried fish. This time I went for surmai fry and fried prawns. Both were fresh and tasty. The thali comes with three different vegetables, sambar, fish curry, rice, pappadom and a sweet dish. We also ordered kadla (channa) curry with nool appams. All this cost us only 800 bucks!
It's a very small restaurant. The servers are attentive. If you are a Kerala food fan, you will love the chow here!
Theeram will always be a 5STAR because of the Yummy food... Kerala style, decent seating arrangements and good quantity food. The theeram Unlimited Thali is a great deal... Unlimited as much as you can eat. And its very delicious
Very small and nice place for authentic kerla food. Keralites will love it and people who want to taste kerla food should definitely go for it..
Ambiance is very simple but very elegant. My first impression after entering this place was "wow" for such a small joint.
P.s. It is very reasonable for such delicious food
Cute little place in Kalina. Used to order but went here first time for dining.
Dishes are tasty and the people are friendly.
If you like Kerala cuisine, it's a decent place which doesn't burn a hole in the pocket.
They can be names as Best south indian food adda, as their service is top notch along with delicious food. I tried kaluki sarbat, their south indian thali, and lot more and their sambhar was out of the world. They also served welcome drink which was kind of tea. I loved the place.
Indulge your taste buds in an Ambrosial, Authentic homemade Kerala Meal
Piping hot Rasam and a delicious medley of lentils and vegetable called sambar are amongst other things not to be missed.

Theeram is a small restaurant which promises to serve authentic south indian food with a tint of south indian culture.
Speaking about the ambience, it was pleasant with good amount of lighting, soothing music & a comfy seating space.
They started off with serving kokam infused water. We ordered for Theeram special thali(its unlimited) - 110rs, Chicken Kothu Parotta - 150rs.
The food was super delicious. Thali was served with rice, sambhar, fish gravy, 2 types of vegetable, papad, spicy chilly & payassam(somewhat like kheer).
Chicken Kothu Parotta was a mixture of parotta & chicken pieces cooked with the right amount of spices. It was a good experience trying out this kerala speciality.

This place gives a homie feeling to every malayali in town.
The service and the food is absolutely amazing.
It's one of the must go places in Mumbai.
Cheers to Theeram🍻
I love the biriyani here so much! The best i have had so far in Mumbai! Love them so much!
Only wish you had them home delivered at my address too 😌😌
There is nothing negative about this place, be it their food, the behavior of their staff, whatever you can think of. Kerala chicken biryani, Kerala parota along with their chicken vazhthachchu Curry is the perfect combination. Suramai fry is a must try among the starters.
It was like I was back in Kerala. :') The prawns moilee, tender coconut, and Kerala butter paratha is everything and more. Don't think twice before going here and relishing each bite until the very end of the meal. I guarantee, you won't regret it.
Theeram means shore of sea in Malayalam..n yes they do stand by the name by serving Fiiissshhhh 😋
Had seen about this place and read reviews in few places that it really tempted us to go n try..n let me tell you it was really really worth it..
To begin with.. the place is not a very fancy place but a small outlet amidst lanes in kalina.. but like they day don't go by the cover of a book same applies here..u enter the small place ..go up n sit.. n be sure u are going to love every bit of food u order.. 🤤 it has net sort of arrangements on the roof of the place n jars with spices decorating the walls..
Moving to food.. we were welcomed with a typical Kerala sulaimani tea 🙂 basically black tea..to begin with we ordered prawns fry as a starter which was nice simple crunchy one to begin with. Following we ordered karimeen pollichathu, basically a preparation in banana leaf with spices coated on to the fishn to go along with basket of breads.. It had aapam, parotha, puttu ( steamed rice cake) n ediyappam ( river noodles) . We were so full that we couldn't order dessert but being said that we did have payassam small glass which was decent enough.
Overall if you crave for good authentic Kerala food/ sea food / South Indian food lover please do check this place out.. Simply awesome.. My overall rating would be a 4.8 🙂

Review:-
Theeram is a small family restaurant next to the very famous Kalina church. I had never tried Kerala cuisine ever before so I had to come here. This place is more famous for its non vegetarian dishes served on banana leaf. Everything served here is Kerala style even the Chicken 65 has a touch of Kerala spices in it. For vegetarians this place won't be that happening but for non vegetarians this place is perfect. At start they serve the Sulemani tea which is complementary so that you don't just sit and wait for your order to come. The place is small but peaceful. Overall a good place to come with your family. Prajakta Gharat Kalindi Waravdekar
Food I Ordered:-
1 Paneer Butter Masala:- 207 ₹
1 Paneer Porichathu:- 217 ₹
1 Theeram Special Veg Thali:- 96₹
Sulemani Tea:- Free
1 Chicken Valluvanadan:- 223 ₹
1 Chicken 65:- 187 ₹
1 Chicken Ularthiyathu:- 223 ₹
1 Chicken Varutharachathu:- 213 ₹
11 Kerala Parotta(17 ₹ each):- 187 ₹
1 Full Rice:- 45 ₹
1 Veg Biryani:- 143 ₹
TOTAL:- 1741 ₹ (inclusive of all taxes)
A local place to have Kerala style food on banana leaf. Not in the leagues of the Kerala restaurants at Fort area in Mumbai, but definitely worth it as not much of such places are there in Santa Cruz area. Had tried out the Kerala style meals and fish fry from here and is good. The ambience was regular and though cramped space, not so crowded on a weekend lunch time.
The Taste of Authentic Kerala Cuisine in our very own Mumbai and that too served in the typical Kerala style on a banana leaf!!
The cuisine from the Land of Spices offers a multitude of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes prepared using fish, poultry, red meat with rice a typical accompaniment. Chillies, curry leaves, coconut, mustard seeds, turmeric, tamarind and asafoetida are all frequently used to create a collaboration of flavours guaranteed to play teasing games on your pallette!!
Theeram, this little place in Kalina is one such restaurant which does justice to this wonderful cuisine and subtly transports you to God's own country. Even the pleasent and simple ambience gives you the feel of it.
Service was good and the staff very attentive carefully explaining you the entire menu.
The Food.. Simply Delicious!!
Certainly had us impressed..Much Recommended.
Do try their fish frys and the traditional thali.. The fish curry goes deliciously well with the red rice.
Good meat dishes too!
Really delicious food and a cuisine that is different from the rest. It's really unique and the prices are quite reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if you want to have an authentic kerala experience.
It’s a small eatery hidden in a lane in kalina. They serve good kerala food. Best chicken biriyani and chicken stew in mumbai. Chicken ularthiyathu and chicken kurumulakuperattu are also great.
A great place for Malabar food. Humble no-pretence environment. The quality and taste of the food does the talking. We had Karimeen Pollichatu, Brown rice, Ayakoora fry, Fish gravy and Kerala Parotta. Wow. Easy on the pocket too.
The restaurant was very busy during lunch hours which is an accurate indicator of it's popularity.
Staff are very courteous. I wish this venture the best of luck.
Had such great food after a very long time! The kurumulaku chicken and porotta made a mouth watering combo. The ambience, staff and everything else perfectly complimented the experience, even at the closing hours of the restaurant. And thank you for the sulaimani! ❤
Small Lille joint but lovely Mallu food! Had the typical meal on a banana leaf! Was yummy. Fish was also fresh and tasty. The putta was lovely, the kappa (tapioca) was absolutely fab! And the ending payasam was offff! So yes total revisit for a wonderfully economical and tasty wholesome food
Well, I visited this place after getting lots and lots of suggestions from zomato.
U will find a very small place from outside but interior is desent enough with Sailor's theme (kerala sailor's)
We were welcomed with piping hot kattan chaya (black tea) which is a complimentary.
A very good flavor of mint which was soul calming.
We ordered:
Crab masala: Must say its a best try here. Very tasty and nice spicy masala.
Kottu porotta: Porotta pieces mashed with shredded chicken and scrambled eggs.
Kerala porotta & varatuaracha chicken curry was very good.
Coconut Juice: This was sumthing different, I have already taste coconut shake in many places but this one had a very catchy presentation style.
Banana Split: Different from the normal banana split, but tasted very good.
Very good hygienic place.
Value for price you pay. Very desent quantity.
Overall this place is best try.
Marked as my favorite place❤️
This turned as the best south indian food i have ever had. Ambience was quite simple and best and i loved it. Being a food vlogger i rate the place on the basis of taste, price, ambience and service and i must say that Theeram is classic in all these criteria. I manager was kind enough to offer me a discount my youtube channel SUBSCRIBERS.
Great place, great food friendly staff. Service is best. Authentic Kerala stuff. Newly opened air conditioning restaurant is also good. Go early to avoid crowd.
Craving for kerala cuisine#Theeram is the best spot to hang on#Pocketfriendly and tatsy with a decent decor#Recently started their A/c restaurant above the old one#A/c room decor is fab and relaxing#food is so superb.U can feel the taste of kerala on ur fingertips
Good food. But lacks consistency. A dish could be great the first time but not all that great the next time. It's small. But being a keralite, this place does have the food to make you feel at home. And since there is a dirth for space, would be best you go before your meal time, else could end up waiting for upto 45 minutes. Also, gives a mallu feel with the server's talking in Malayalam. So, Yaay!
Absolutely amazing money value wise! The food is very close to being authentic. The ambience is a problem as it’s right on the road and without AC- but I’m sure you’ll forget it all when you taste the Puttu and Kadala or Appam and fish curry!
A good Kerala cuisine experience!

We ordered the veg thali, surmai pollichattu, Veg stew, chicken uridayathu, appam, idiyappam, dosa, Kerala paratha, coconut water.
The veg thali was decent. It consisted of 3 veggies, Sambar, fish curry and rice. Fish curry was decent, lacked salt. Sambar was good. Out of 3 veggies, 2 were good. One was bad. The fish was AWESOME. It was spicy and wrapped in banana leaf. The chicken was AWESOME. Again a bit spicy but soft and delicious. The veg stew was good too
The Indian breads were a disappointment. The Kerala paratha was the only thing good. The idiyappam was too hard. The appam wasn’t proper since the batter wasn’t ready it seems. The dosa wasn’t great either.
Do order the COCONUT WATER. It’s something different.
Its really good if u wanting to have some south indian food 😍❤ Its really tasty especially wen they serve on banana leaf... the gravys are also reallyyy yummy it fills my.tummy 😝❤
Ordered the Kerala Thali 🔥

I enjoyed Super Delicious Veg Stew and Appam for the first time at this Kerala special restaurant ,Theeram.
This restaurant is well decorated and painted by the art of Kerala.
Veg Stew is curry prepared in coconut milk with some vegetables. I loved the taste, dont forget to visit if you want to taste authentic dish veg and Non veg taste of Kerala style.
Food from here tastes really good. This is our go to place for dinner. We have ordered Biryani via Zomato from here which was okayish but having heard so much about this place and our love for fish we went for dinner. We have ordered Fish molly then and it was mouth watering
Second time when we went there we ordered the other fish dish Mulakittatu medium spicy
Both were really good. Next time we’ll try Chhattitoru
Good small restaurant in Santacruz east serving Kerala food items. Very traditional food options like podhi choru chati choru traditional sadya and good spread of non veg food for all who love Kerala food.
The taste of food is very subtle and in line with traditional house hold food. Not to forget have their Podhi biryani it’s also great.
Only point to note or may be we call concern is the patron needs to climb stairs to reach the serving place, so anyone having issues need to ask them to open their downstairs party room behind the cash counter
One of the best pizza hurricane/chicken Indiana/ sezchuan chicken Pizza ever. Lots of cheese and chicken

A small place located in Santacruz east which has its own speciality of Kerala food. One of the places where you will be getting authentic South Indian and kerela food.

The food at this restaurant is superb, with standout dishes like thali, fish, and kottu paratha that I absolutely loved. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Despite repeatedly providing instructions, the staff failed to follow them, resulting in poor service. The restaurant's location is not ideal, and it lacks accessibility for elderly individuals who cannot climb stairs. While the ambiance is okay, it's important not to be deceived by the attractive pictures.
Had a really nice lunch here. Two of us ordered a few dishes so we could try a variety. The menu is HUGE and we wanted to try so many things. Service staff were polite and attentive and the Service was quick.
Google maps may take you through some narrow streets depending on where you're coming from. Best landmark is the church close by from.which it is walking distance. Two wheeler parking is available close by just outside the restaurant, but four wheeler may have trouble finding a spot.
This was my first time in Theeram Restaurant. It was an impeccable experience. It was so tasty that I need to ordered it twice. Service is very good.
It brings the feeling of Kerala.
Authentic Kerela cuisine, promotes cultural food that’s good!
Food : Yum !Try Kohzi Porichathu (chicken)
Service : slow as they get continuous so Zomato and Swiggy order
Ambience: climb the ladder and the one on top is good for small small groups.
Parking : Its almost on the road so Don’t bring bike, Car. take cab or rickshaw
