The Prawn pulav was excellent, the Goan sausage chilli fry was good but heavy on the vinegar, chicken vindaloo was also yumm
Tiny famous dive on the backlanes of Colaba that has been serving up some tasty Goan food for decades. This place has not changed and thats the reason ot is so popular, the no frills decor, friendly service and food that never dips in taste and quality. The fish curry rice is a staple and the beef is tender and tasty.
Prices are super pocket friendly. Delivery is always fast and amazing. I give it a solid 4 for the food!!
Best place for sea food in South
Mumbai....plus it is very light on
your pocket as wel. A must go to
place for seafood lovers.
You are missing out if you're in Mumbai and not visiting this legendary place in Colaba. This place is heaven for meat lovers and is super affordable. The taste and ambience both are humble yet awesome. We've visited this place so many times and tried most of the items from their menu but we still never think twice about visiting again. If you visit here on a weekend afternoon, you might have to wait for a table so plan accordingly.
The early bird catches the worm holds so true at Martins becos if u are late u will see a X besides your fav dishes which means its sold out for the day.
Martins at colaba is a small place but packs a punch. Yes a goan punch. I love the fish curry rice. The chicken cutlets and the onion and beef fry and a caremal custurd to end it all
The ambience and service is okaish.
Wat will strike you is the price per plate. So reasonable that its unbelievable
Visit Martins if u wanna feel Goa in mumbai
This restaurant made my trip to south mumbai worth the time and effort. Situated in a bylane of south mumbai . The usp of this place is its flavour filled food .
Authentic Gomantak cuisine 🥘
One of Mumbai's hidden gems! This is a place to go to! If u love sea food and everything goan! This is a place u better head too! Very small. Nth fancy about it. But the food and the pricing of the food is just amazing! Super cheap and u get amazing taste with quantity! They have a timing for the restaurant. For lunch and early dinner. They are not open on Sundays. So u gotta make adjustments. People share tables. And it's always a friendly crowd. Once u come here ull definitely not wanna stop. And adjust your time and day for this joint :D
If you miss Goan food in Mumbai then this is where you head. The owner literally talks to you and knows your taste buds before he serves you. Or maybe I get treated that way always. 😁 I’m a huge fan of their Fish and Pork.
This is a small Goan restaurant which serve steaks, pork, sausages and the like. It is very cheap. A meal for four cost us 275 each. They have special menus for each day other than the usual. We tried their chicken soup, bacon and eggs, sausage and eggs, beef steak, roast chicken and pork vindaloo. You can give roast chicken and sausage and eggs a miss. Goan sausage chilly went out of stock. Suggest you try it. All in all a good, calm and clean restaurant tucked into the bylanes of Colaba. Beware of the timings though and it's closed on Sunday. A must visit place.
Loved that is a small place and has its own distinct vibe, the food is typical Home made and the taste is to perfection
Wonder how well they have kept their Pricing, the portions are appropriate for 2 to share or else one portion is enough for a person who is hungry enough
I jist love Goan food and saw a viral video of this reataurant and just had to go and tasre the yummy goan food.
Since we ere late i decided to take a parcel. The food was just like our very own home cooked food.
Goan food at ita very best. A must try for all goan food lovers.
A hidden gem in Colaba which I explored recently! I would say I bet I haven't eaten so tasty pork, beef, fish , chicken at this price. The most costly dish is Rs160 that is Steak! The place is really very small with 6 tables and many a times there is waiting! Went there for lunch at 1:30pm and yes many of the signature dishes got over. So if you wish to try their menu you should be there by 12:15pm or else you can call the hotel and tell them to keep some portion for you! The staff over there is really polite and service is really very quick! I think everyone should try the whole menu! As I was late I missed 2 Signature dishes that are
▪️Mutton Cutlets
▪️Prawns Pulav
which I will be trying it very soon!
Now coming to what I had!
⚫Steak (5/5)
People want to start beef can start from this place it as it's really very tasty and it is not that chewy.
Recommended
⚫Chicken Roast (4/5)
It was a normal dish with Chicken Gravy and Chicken was normally roast to perfection.
⚫Pork Chilly (5/5)
You shouldn't miss this dish! It's one of their signature dish I should say! I repeat , don't miss this!
⚫ Caramel Custard(5/5)
Never had such a authentic Custard ever! The caramel is so pure that it melts in your mouth!
Highly recommended
⚫Chicken Clear Soup (5/5)
Best Chicken Clear Soup Ever! There were 3 big pieces of Chicken cooked to perfection! Even you can't miss this!
Next time try Pork Vindaloo, Mutton Cutlets, Prawns Pulav for sure!
The place may look like any small and old food corner place but this particular place makes you sense the quote for real ,
" NEVER OVER LOOK THE POWER OF SIMPLICITY".
What we've ordered here :
Sausage Chilly Fry, Pork Vindaloo , Steak Onion Chips , Bacon and Egg.
What you must try here : Sausage chilly fry, Steak Onion Chips.
The best restaurant ...you get home-style food. I have tried their prawn's pulao, which the best and fry fish curry which takes you back to Goa....yummy food
This restaurant is legendary for it's home style goan fare. Located in one of the bylanes of COLABA its a task to find the place. But Zomato maps makes it easier.
It's a simple non-ac place with four tables. The ambience is minimal but the place is clean and hygienic.
Coming to the food, the sorpotel is the star dish. Succulent pieces of pork in spicy and tangy red gravy. So is the pork vindaloo. The fish curry and rice is simple yet tasty. The steak served with fried onions is not that good, it was a bit chewy and I don't prefer eating fried onions. The apricot custard is good way to end your meal.
Please note that the restaurant has a rotating menu. All the dishes are not available everyday. So please check the menu before visiting.
All the dishes mentioned are eaten on different days. As I have visited the place alone, I could eat only one dish at a time. I couldn't find the pictures for other dishes on my phone.
Visited this place because of its high rating. Not very fancy looking but if you wanna try fresh and delicious Goan food give it a try. The staff and the owner is friendly and very welcoming. Tried their Prawn Pulao and Chilli Pork. Good portion size and served very quick. Loved the dishes. Taste and quality is good.
This place has only four tables and I absolutely loved the food here. Typical Goan food with great pork, beef and even fish curry. Absolutely comfort food. Can get stuffed in under Rs 500 for non veg lovers !!!!
New Martin's is a old local & a small restaurant in colaba . They serve the best home cooked Goan cuisine in town at the most affordable value . The menu is finite and basic but the food served is highly pleasing .
We Ordered :
1) Pork Vindaloo : One of the best Vindaloo I have ever had . Vindaloo is a main course dish served as authentic Goan curry . I preferred Bun/Pav along with it. INR 140/-
2) Bacon , egg & Chips : Bacon cooked to perfection served with potato wedges at INR 120/-
3) Apricot Custrad for the dessert at INR 40/-
This place is no fancy , but the food is gonna make you visit the restaurant again & again .
Pork Vindaloo , Prawns pukac & fish curry rice are few of the too dishes to not miss on .
Love this place! Have been several times and I order at home too thanks to Zomato now. They serve authentic Goan food and it’s not very hard on the wallet either.
I had heard a lot about this place so had to check it out. It's a simple and neat place, nothing fancy, but the food is very good and affordable. We ordered a Chicken Sausage Pulav, Sausage Chilli, Fried Beef, Mutton Cutlets and Custard and Jelly.
The Mutton cutlets were exceptional, probably the best I've had in a long. The other dishes were spicy and delicious as well. This place is perfect for a hearty meal which won't burn a hole in your pockets. A must try!
A humble place with warm Goan food which really delights a hungry belly. The place is nothing fancy but their food is what makes everyone keep coming back.
One can go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner
Food suggestions: their prawn pulav, sorpotel and caramel custard.
A very small place. I ordered chicken vindaloo, sausage and eggs, apricot custard and chapati. The chicken vindaloo was neither hot nor spicy. It tasted like regular chicken gravy i eat at home. The chicken sausage was really good; crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Apricot custard was the stand out dish. It felt fresh and light.
Overall, a good place though nothing great about it.
Food/ambience/service - 4/5
Had a dinner here..dishes i tried were chicken vindaloo, chicken sausage and egg.all were delicious and service was fast
Chicken vindaloo - 3.5/5
Chicken sausage and egg - 4/5
Apricot custard - 4/5
Goan Food in town if you want to get served by is this own their steak tastes the best enjoyed food at this place with much different flavours in town a big thumbs up to this one
I've been going to Martin's for the last 30 years. After moving from India, I always made it a point to go there at least once during my annual visits to India. It is authentic, simple Goan fare at fair pricing and all the dishes are great, without exception. I had hoped in the meantime that other Goan restaurants would emerge along similar lines. Sadly it has not been the case. Great going Martin!

Guys! We highly recommend this place to grab an awesome goan meal.
Unfortunately we couldn't try their custard jelly but we will grab it the next time we go there😉😋
Happy Eating😁
Amazing place for Goan food. The steak in onion and chips is damn amazing and in dessert ; the Apricot custard!!! Must try !
I’ve repeatedly visited this place because it is worth it!
Been a regular at Martin for the last 15 years. This place never disappoints. A typical lunch home set-up, where you might have to share tables when it gets crowded. Super fast service, super tasty meals and super light on the wallet. Pictured - Beef Chilly Fry (Masala), Steak & Onions, Fish Curry, Rice and Pav. The beef was spicy, the steak was delicious and the fish curry was tasty! For simple, home-cooked, Goan meals - New Martin Hotel is the place to be.
GOAN food at its best, in South Mumbai; simply, superbly marinated Beef steak, with home-style potato wedges, sauted vegetables & grilled onions, a great Beef chilly fry, fantastic Mutton cutlets, and a super apricot custard, on certain days, when available .... Absolute value for your money !
A small food joint, but their service is the fastest I have seen in Bombay. Really cheap food and taste wise also they are very good. Must try is their pork vindaloo and fish curry rice. But it closes pretty early at 9.30, this is the only negative point about the eatery.
Superb food awesome taste quantity is good the service they offered was quick prices slightly exorbitant but its all worth the money I spent
Cool
Everything about this restaurant is good.. the two male staff are super nice.. the food is yummy.. whatever the night and event, for Goan food in Bombay, this is the place to be
Small and simple place with a limited menu. Fast service and good staff. Of the five dishes we ordered the sausage with omlette was passable. The mackerel fry and chicken soup were nice while beef curry and apricot custard were noteworthy. Oh and a coke to wash it all down!
Same as was even an decade before
The taste , ambience nothing had changed. Basic outlet but worth every penny . Limited options though I can eat every day with a smile
This place is fabulous for authentic Goan food. And very cheap. You get the feeling that you are sitting in Goa itself. Definitely recommend it to someone who wants to taste Goa in Mumbai.
Very simple yet generous kind of service. You feel homely. No unnecessary glitters and shimmers. Food is the TRP here. Go for the authentic goan cuisines. Thumb's up!
The place is absolutely not worthy for five stars... But who cares, the food is. Don't go here on a date night, you will be disappointed by its environment... However, being a foodie, I will go here for over a thousand times... Just for the food, which is absolutely magnificent and top class... Very reasonable and economically priced, the masalas in each of the goan preparations touch the invisible cloud 9 in your tongue and lefts you wanting for more. An absolute treat and must go for all goan food enthusiast.

A small joint at Colaba, hidden opposite Strand Cinema. Its been around for ages.
A Goan food lovers paradise with really authentic goan food.
HUGE portions and VERY reasonable rates.
Service is fast and always with a smile.
The ambience is simple and casual with seating. No AC.
They serve mostly Non-Veg, so Veg lovers could avoid.
They specialize in Steak Onion, Steak Chilly Fry, Vindaloo, Fish Curry and Rice. And the food is Just Awesome.
You can also order the Pav instead of Chapati.
Top it all off with a Custard Jelly for desert.

Finally tried out our very own Goan Cuisine at Martin's Corner, Colaba. Whatever we ordered was really worth it. Nothing can be better for a Goan than Xitt Kodi which we truly enjoyed at Martin's Corner. God Bless
Ok considering the price. But given the overall ratings, I was expecting something with a lot more Wow
Being a Goan restaurant, it's known for its Goan food. You can't go in and not have their Pork Vindaloo with Toasted Pao.
To end your meal, have the Caramel Custard topped with a cherry!
The service isn't exactly the best and the waiters may seem a little rude. However, they are prompt.
Another gem of Mumbai. My visit was long pending, so I went for a weekend lunch. It is located at busy street of Colaba. I ordered pork sorpotel with white rice, king fish curry and custurd. The sorpotel was very delicious, true Goan taste. Fish curry was decent. I would taste the rest of their dishes. They got a compact spread of dishes. The place was quite busy with home delivery and goes out of stock too soon..
Don’t judge a book by its cover.... this place ambiance is negative 5 and if u went on a date ur partner will leave you BUT the Goan food here is better than Goa . Freshly made daily and superb prices this place is a must go. Curry rice and Bangra fry is superb and fried eggs as simple as it sounds is made to perfection
Finally!!! Got a chance to visit this place, it was on my favorites list, i don't know for how long. Although was disappointed, had gone there for the Goan signature dish sorpotel but they did not have any left ☹️. So instead ordered the beef chilly, steak, pork vindaloo n bombil (Bombay duck). The food isn't very spicy but has the usual tangy Goan touch. I must they were all just toooo good. And topped it up with Apricot custard. All this and u wouldn't believe how light it was on the pocket.
The place isn't much barely 5 tables totally old school one of the very few places left in Mumbai. But whatever you may feel they lack in luster (i didn't) they over compensate in taste and ₹₹. So if u happen to visit Colaba do visit this place. I will definitely be back....🤤
This is one of my most favourite places to go to in Colaba... you need to get there early .. or you’ll miss out.. I recommend the sorpotel and beef steak. Tastes like great food from a Goan home. And sooo affordable !!
Been coming here since '97. The food is still just as good, the people just as warm. My server has been serving since '92. Had a wonderful lunch noshing on bombil fry, sorpotel and paav, onion steak and finished it off with apricot custard.
The restaurant does not require any introduction when it comes to authentic Goan dishes in Mumbai. The New Martin Hotel is in-fact one of the oldest restaurants, serving authentic goan cuisines and patronised not only by goans based in Mumbai but also foodies of Mumbai ! Its a small hotel so don't expect any fancy decor with captain taking your order but who cares for great ambience when they serve us good food at an affordable rates ?
Myself and my colleague had our lunch today i.e 18.08.18 consisting of Chicken Roast, Pork Sorpote and Sausage with egg & chips with typical Mumbai bread ( Pav ).
We have thoroughly enjoyed all the above dishes and ended our lunch session with custard, all for Rs. 440/- !
The restaurant is also the winner of the Best e\Eats for Goan Dish, certified by CNNGo’s in 2010.
Go for it...You will not be disappointed for sure.
The food from Martin's is always amazing
I regularly order from New Martin.. the food is nice plus at really an affordable cost.. I always try to something new here.. so far I have tried the Goan Sausage Cilly fry, Minced Mutton and Beef chilly fry... the minced mutton was great but in the Beef Chilly and Sausage chilly the meat was a little chewy, other than that the preparation was good and tasty..
tasty food and good quantity ..
only two bacon, why, why, why

Best and cost effective inn for pork fanatics. We went for the pork sorpatel and steak onion fry but had to take the bacon too given how tasty the first two dishes were.
Just visited this place without any referral! Their bacon was amazing! Prices are very pocket friendly! Great Goan taste for Goan food lovers
great Goan food. enjoyed thoroughly
amazing, no salt on the sunny side up egg though
One of the few vintage places that offers the best of meals ! From your chicken to beef and pork to the seafood itself is pure satisfaction. Fantastic portions and way beyond reasonable pricing . Not much has changed from this place and hope it never will ! Keep it up guys !
If you ever come to Mumbai, eat here. It is a walk away from Gateway of India. I have had their steak, beef fry, chicken pulao, apricot custard and custard.
Even the potato wedges served beside the steak taste delicious. I am of the opinion that they can do with lesser oil cooking the steak, nevertheless the steak is delicious.
The chicken pieces in the pulao are cooked to that precise softness, where the skin is soft not rubbery or hard.
I would not recommend the apricot custard, it is simply custard with two whole dried apricots added to it. Order the simple custard instead.
I will be ordering their pork vindaloo next.
Sorry I can't as I own a Bakery so Zomato has removed my posts which I think is unfare on there path. I just don't get it. I like food I like to write about it. But Zomato thinks otherwise.
Simply Goan paradise
Absolutely in love with the place , seating space is indeed small , but that doesn't decrease the warmth in the service provided to you.
The food is wonderful and light on the pocket.
People looking for Goan style food this place is a must go go for you.
Genuine Goan cuisine at the lowest possible rates. Sausage pulao, vindaloo, and numerous other exclusive delicacies are definitely worth a try. The ambience is not much to speak about, however the food quality and quantity makes up amply for the same . Location is very accessible and the USP is the original Goan touch which is not so common.
Excellent home style daily meals. Go for the food, don't expect ambience. Veggies don't make the mistake of stepping in. Wish I could poach their cooks!
If you are craving for authentic Goan food in Mumbai can't think of any other place other then Martin's. It's a small joint in colaba with average ambiance, however they more then make up by there food. Things to try pork sorpotel, beef chilli, roast chicken.... All this is served with either pav or steam rice, I personally prefer pav. The servers are very friendly and have been working in the same place for years so they know there regular guests which definitely helps. It's a pocket friendly joint and average cost per person will be around 200 to 250.
If you are in the colaba causeway, chances are might miss New Martin's; it's small located at a corner and has none of the fancy shamancy of restaurants associated with it. Buy let the looks nit fool you, the food is what you come here for and realy good food is what you get.
The food here is simple and homely. Like you would get at the home of your next door Goan Aunty. The menu is minimalist and I have tried almost everything. having said that, these are my top picks
1. steak: One if the best steaks I've had in this city.. comes covered with onions , potatoes and one tomato. just too good to be missed. i felt the potatoes could be a little more done though.
2. Pork Sorpotel : Simple and homely. like I mentioned, you could mistake yourself eating at your neighbours home.
3. Sausage Pulao : The spicy Goan sausage covered with. layer of rice. the vinegar gets balanced due to the rice.
4:. Mutton Cutlets: best with a glass of beer.
Best prawn palao i have ever had in my life. Its Pocket friendly too. People there are also very kind and nice. Whenever i feel like having home food i go to this place. It gives peace to my mind. Really awesome.
Great place for a non vegetarian. Ordered the Pork Vindaloo, Goan Sausages and Buff chilli fry. All three were delicious and went well with simple pav. We did order plain pulao later too, but all three tasted best with Pav. Dishes were very affordable.
We ended our meal with the Jelly Custard. But didn’t find anything great about that dessert.
It’s a small place with only four tables with the Menu written with chalk. The owner personally comes and serves each table. So overall, i can say the Restaurant had a subtle yet lovely ambience.
A very good place to try authentic Goan cuisine. Do give a visit to this place if you're missing home made pork and beef that too at a very reasonable price.
Vindaloo and pav😋
Pros - no fuss Goan meal. No elaborate menu to confuse you, no choice of fish, no separate tables... Just say fry or curry/ fish or prawns and enjoy... Perfect for a quick goan lunch
Cons - i wish you could start a goan dessert to go with the lunch like serradurra,
Very humble restaurant which speaks with the taste and quality of food. Tables and kitchen was hygenic. Everything I ordered was very tasty , authentic and economic. The dish which stood out most was the Pork vindaloo. It looked intimating red coloured and spicy but was mild, full bodied with very well cooked pieces of meat. The menu is short and no frill, cost of everything in economic and pocket friendly.
I recently dined at the New Martin Hotel in Mumbai, and I had a delightful experience. This restaurant offers a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes that cater to a wide range of tastes. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a cozy and welcoming ambiance that made it a great place for a relaxed meal. The service was attentive, and the staff was friendly. I particularly enjoyed their flavorful Indian cuisine, and their menu had a good balance of traditional and innovative dishes. Overall, I highly recommend the New Martin Hotel for anyone looking for a satisfying vegetarian dining experience in Mumbai.❤️❤️🔥
If you like Goan food then this is the place to go to.
The ambience is nothing to look at also please do not peek into the kitchen.
However, the food is just too good, especially if you eat pork. The tenderness and flavours are just excellent and mouth watering.
They also have an exceptional fish curry rice and all this at a very affordable price.
A must visit for Goan food.
Saturday lunch in an iconic Goan restaurant of Colaba, Mumbai
New Martin Hotel , established in 1950, more than 70 years ago.
This iconic, popular restaurant with legacy of serving authentic Goan dishes for more than 7 decades.
This restaurant is closed on Sunday (remember it)
Nestled in the heart of Colaba, restaurant looks humble but food is the star. One of the best destination for coastal cuisines, specially - Seafood, Indian, Goan, non-veg thalis.
Aspy had his all time favourite, steak with fried onions and chips.
I had Goan fish curry, rice along with Surmai fry
Authentic Goan curry taste, felt like I'm in Goa 🙈
And the signature dessert - Apricot custard.
Crossed Gateway of India, Mumbai while returning back...
Small place, great taste, easy on uour pocket. Humble staff. Good variety in food and guick service with a smile on their face
It's heaven on Earth for meat lovers, the restaurant in on line of the most posh areas in Mumbai, the taste of the menu reflects that, the prices don't. Never have I ever seen a more affordable menu. Had bacon eggs and chips and chicken vindaloo. The bacon was British style, and so were the chips. It was my first time tasting vindaloo, and I loved it. Will surely go back
Go for : affordable menu, taste, variety of meats.
Avoid for : no place for a vegetarian.

Authentic Goan, Manglorean Food. Quality of the food available and served is excellent. Value for money. Daily fresh food is prepared as the dishes get over quickly. There is home delivery also available. Credit goes to the owner and the staff preparing the food. 👏👏👏👏👍👌👌
An unassuming little place with the best goan food on the menu. We went around 1pm and by then 5 items from their menu was over. We ordered Sorpotel, Goan sausages chilly fry, Steak with onions veggies and fries and Fish curry with rice and everything was lip-smacking delicious. The restaurant was full with people queuing outside so service with a one man show was slow but we didn't mind it. Finished the meal with apricot custard. Yumm. Absolute must visit place. Not to mention it is a super budget friendly place too.

A very very small and simple place ,nothing fancy about the interiors and everything looks basic. The thing that makes this place stand apart is the food and it's taste and flavour,Just home made soul food. The Pork Sorpotel is just amazing, well cooked meat and the taste will just tickle your taste buds and keep you wanting for more. The Steak is something that is really good too, you need to be really lucky to have it as this place sells the steak out very fast, juicy and tender topped with Onions. Also the Vindaloo and Goan Sausage thingy is great but nothing beats the Steak and the Sorpotel at this place.Parking can be tough to find but this place is really a Gem and is a must try for every meat lover.Pocket friendly too as the most pricy dish on the menu is only priced for Rs 160/- and you get a good quantity too.Very friendly staff as well.

Authentic Goan food at very affordable prices in Mumbai. We tried the Prawn pulao, Fish curry-Rice, Pork Vindaloo and Goan Sausage chili fry. All the dishes were flavorful and enticing. For desserts we had the custard. I'd rate it a 3.5/5.
A simple eatery with basic interiors that serves delicious food at reasonable price. Loved the fish curry rice n yummy fish fry.
Service is fast and the staff are friendly. The food is amazing. Great for experiencing authentic Goan food. The mutton kheema fry and pork vindaloo was amazing.
