Authentic Kerala sadhya (veg & non-veg) at affordable prices.. Reach early coz it’s always crowded.. Humble seating arrangement but the food is finger licking good..
I really like south Indian food and I'm so happy that I found a place which can satisfy my craving for South Indian food♥️🥰
Kerala House in Vashi is a must go place for all authentic south indian food lovers. Kerala House, offers a humble vegetarian thali with authentic Keralite flavours. You can ask for a fried fish/chicken as an accompaniment.
The meal comprises of rice, sambhar, curry, 3 types of vegetables (changes daily) and a rice papad. This is at a nominal price of Rs.70 for the unlimited thali.
Fried fish priced at Rs.200 piece.
In Vashi? Famished? Love South Indian food? Look no further than Kerala House. Good clean wholesome food served by kind servers who always insist that you take an extra ladle of sambar, rice, vegetables, and everything that is available on their menu for that day. Non vegetarians might enjoy the chicken curry, fish curry, chicken and fish fry in coconut oil. I love their special Sunday Saadhya served on a banana leaf.
This outlet is located in Kerala Bhavan in Vashi. Serves only lunch from 1230 to 330 pm. The place serves simple but very tasty Kerala style food consisting of Boiled rice with sambar and dahi kadhi , Avial , 2 sabzi , pickle and papad. All this , unlimited at just Rs 70 per person. You can also order for Fish curry ,fish fry or chicken fry for an extra price. However , I just enjoyed the vegetarian fare and came out with a very happy tummy.
The place has waiting of approx 15-20 mins any given day , but the service inside is quick and very homely.
Have heard that they serve a special meal on Sunday on Banana leafs. Will surely come back on a Sunday to try it out .
Authentic kerala food. Simple menu of rice, sambar and Mori curry. Authentic veggies to accompany your meal adds more taste to the menu. Few may choose to go for a fish or chicken as per their wish. Homely feeling when people serve you with warm smile on their face.
It's unusual that you get the taste of Kerala outside the state. I am from Kerala and after searching for so long, I found this place which gives you authentic Kerala-esque dishes. The money is well worth the food and it is super filling.
The service is good and the ambience is alright.

I came here with my family for Sunday lunch. This place serves amazing traditional Kerala food . They serve vegetarian meals ...which was unlimited ( only on Sunday) and we added some extra non veg to it... we asked for Fried chicken , fried fish and fish curry. Excellent in taste and total value for 💰
Overall we loved the place and enjoyed our meal. 😊 Service is quick. Totally worth it.
If you want authentic Kerala meal.....high on taste and light on the pocket......then, this is the place to be.
Located in Vashi.....the drive down is worth it.

And on Sunday it is unlimited and served on a leaf. Non veg can be ordered separately.

Simple living and enjoying life. A mantra that is being followed at this place.
Unlimited rice, sambhar, rasam and kadhi in 70 bucks. You may want to order fish or chicken at additional price.
This place was a bit crowded on a Sunday afternoon which surprised me. We had to take a coupon and wait for at least 20 mins, but it was worth the wait.
The food is served on a banana leaf which gives you a traditional feel. The sadhya consisted of ginger pickle, lemon pickle, two dishes with pine apple which were yummy, two vegetables ( dry and with gravy), aviyal ( traditional mixed vegetables with coconut), papadam, rice, sambhar, thayer (curd based gravy), rasam and payasam ( kheer).
For non vegetarians, fish or chicken or both is served which is charged separately.
Buttermilk and extra papadam is charged.
*Buttermilk is highly recommended. One of the best buttermilk I had!!!!
Sadhya- 120/-
Fish-200/-
Chicken -70/-
Buttermilk- 10/-
Papadam- 5/-
##They only accept cash and ATMs are not close by.
If you want to eat something that is authentic then you must visit this place. They serve nice Kerala style food both veg and non veg.
Veg items
Aviyal, pachadi, sambar, rice and papadam with two vegetables, pickle
Non-veg
You can choose fish or chicken fry rest remains the same as veg menu.
Aviyal, pachadi, sambar, rice and papadam with two vegetables, pickle.
This place is usually crowded so if you plan to visit during weekdays or weekends please be prepared to wait for some time before you can actually get your table.
Well, this place can be described in one word as
“ Authentic Kerala food”. The water even they provide is in pink color which is really healthy as Keralites use. Weekdays would be same menu with and Sunday you will get sweet dish also . No such egg dish here. From the rice to water , perfect place to taste Kerala food here.
Just imagine treating yourself with authentic unlimited kerala veg meals just for Rs. 70/- in the heart of Navi Mumbai !!! If unbelievable then head straight to Kerala house in Vashi wherein satisfaction of Mallu meals is guaranteed !
As you enter the restaurant, aroma of food welcomes you. Understand the place is crowded most of the time during lunch hours but we were lucky to get a table on our arrival.
Add on dishes like Surmai fish curry for Rs. 70 was one more pleasant surprise but Surmai fish fry for Rs. 200 has disappointed us for it's price and freshness.
Overall, it was a good ' Paisa Vasool' meals with quick service in Mini Kerala.
We left the place after the photo session with huge and attractive traditional lamp & flower vessel kept near the entrance.
Kerala House, Thangalkku Nanni, for the wonderful pocket friendly Kerala meals. Will visit you again and surely for Onam Sadhya...
Went to this place with office peeps. The staff is very warm and welcoming. Great service, might have to wait as there’s a lot of crowd at lunch hours.
They serve the welcome drink padimukham. Wednesday lunch includes rice and Fish fry. Loved the curry. Great food, very reasonable price.
If you are planning to visit Kerala house on a weekend, make sure you are ready to wait outside for a while. While the meals and service are generally quick, the place is a crowd puller!!
They specialise in serving authentic South Indian food. They serve only thalis, with two options vegetarian or seafood.
Both the thalis are exactly the same , with pickle, poriyal, pachadi, sambhar, rice and papadam. Also two vegetable preparations. A piece of fried fish is all that gets added to the non-vegetarian thali.
Meal ends with payasam.
P.S for all the health freaks out there, they serve brown rice. :)
Decent pricing, a place for family lunch rather than a date. Worth a shot!!
If you are looking for some Authentic Kerela meal, this is the right choice for you!
Veg/Non-veg Thali Kerala House, Vashi comes at a very pocket friendly rate which will fulfil your hunger and satisfy your soul 😇
The pink coloured liquid in the second picture is the water that they serve which is boiled with some ayurvedic roots.
#junkdiscovery #junkdiscovery_vashi #foodlove #foodstagram #foodgasm
Nice authentic Kerala food. Fast service. Serve only rice, no appam, puri or chapatis in Thali. Outsiders allowed only between 12-3 for lunch. Veg thali costs Rs 120. Must try if you are looking for good Kerala food.
Authentic Kerala food served here they have a unlimited thali that too really pocket friendly eat how much you can veg thali costs just Rs70 and the food tastes phenomenal for the pricing the quality and quantity of food is really impressive I highly recommend this place
Food 5/5
Ambience 3/5
Service 4/5
Have been to Kerala Bhavan for about 4 times. Kerala Bhavan has never disappointed me. However this place is for a true Rice Lover. They serve you Rice with Sambar, Rassam and Kadhi. Also they Serve 3 vegetables, papad and Pickle.
Very very very pocket friendly, just 70 rupees per Thali.
Also they do serve authentic Keralite Chicken as well as fish.
Definately a must visit if you are craving for authentic south Indian food.
Just a heads up, be prepared for the waiting time. Rather visit exactly at 12.30 or post 2.30..
Authentic Kerala food comes to Navi Mumbai thanks to Kerala Bhavan!! Kerala house is a place serving authentic food in vashi. The veg lunch menu consists of rice sambhar, rasam, kadhi, 3-4 types of vegetables and the most favorite papadam!! Their chass is to die for! And you get all of this for INR 70. Also the service is really fast however you have to wait to get a table and also share the table.
The only drawback is that food served is lukewarm :(
Do visit if you love authentic kerala food ❤️
Kerala comes to Navi Mumbai ..
The Feeling you would get when you enter the premises .. it looks so at peace nd pretty clean
Food .. well it tastes like you are eating at a someone's home in Kerala.. the menu is not big just few things you can count on your fingers but the taste takes you to Kerala ..
The only negative point is fish curry and chicken fry is Cold which kind of let's you down after having warm rice nd sambhar..
The place is super clean and helpful staff
Something they should badly change is serving customers hot/warm food straight from the Tawa/kadhai
Overall food is awesome nd unlimited in less than 100 rs which is like super cheap ..
Please go and visit the place to feel at home..
If you are one of them who loves authentic South Indian food, this place is a must visit for them...
Rice(proper south indian rice) served with Sambar and/or curry with side dishes like fish fry/chicken or fish curry.
Its served with 4 different vegetables and pickle and the most amazing papadum(rice papad)
I have tried fish fry and it has an amazing taste, if you are one of them who doesn’t want eat fish because of the smell then try the fish at @kerela house.
Keep eating😁
Simple home cooked kerala cuisine at pocket friendly prices. I opted for the non-veg thali. Got a mountain of rice along with fish curry, sambar, 3 sabzis and a tangy mango pickle. Tasty, no frills fare with homecooked taste, without excess oil and spices.
They serve authentic Kerala food.. Rice with sambhar/rasam/kadhi with vegetables achar and appalam papad. Very tasty food and reasonably priced. Fish and chicken are there for non vegetarians. Quick service but crowded particularly during lunch hours due to offices in nearby bldgs. Do try if you are rice sambhar lover..
Quick food.
Nice stuff.
Authentic food!
Easy to reach!
Only draw back - rather coldish!. Expected piping hot!
Give it a shot if around Vashi
Like this place for its hearty, wholesome and authentic Keralite food. Their weekend sadyas are great. The Veg Sadya can be accompanied by Non Veg accompaniments of Chicken and Fish (separately). Great value for money.
Enjoy eating here.
If you are craving for authentic Kerala homestyle sadhya, this is the place to be.
The veg sadhya is unlimited, so you can have food to your heart's content. Fish/Chicken needs to be ordered separately and is charged extra. Do try the pink coloured water they serve you. Its some type of root boiled water. Nutritious.
Its a govt. canteen, so the food is very pocket friendly. An unlimited veg plate costs just 70 bucks and fish curry is also priced at 70. Fish fry was huge and fried to perfection.
Service is swift and annas ensure that you leave this place with your stomach full.
Take the words of a fish loving Bong, the 'Kudam Puli' infused meen curry over here is lip-smacking!
They serve only lunch and snacks and other meals are not available here.
4 stars only because this place is quite popular with malayalees & non malayalees alike and is usually very crowded. So you need to wait anywhere between 5 to 50 mins to get your table. Good thing is they distribute number tokens so don't have to fight for your seat :)
Value for money and authentic Kerala food experience! Waiting time is high especially on weekends and you may have to share your table but if you are looking for simple home-style Kerala meal then head here - it’s family favourite for us!
IF you are looking for good food plus homely feel plus affordable price.. this is the place. Call and book your table in advance because its crowded most of the time.
This place serves Authentic Kerala sadhya for lunch. Fish and chicken fry are the only non veg dishes. Good tables and seating, the service is quick. The menu is different on weekends with pradaman as dessert. They don't serve snacks or other dishes. Perfect place to have a Kerala style lunch.
Simple, good and clean environment . Good place for fish lovers. You will get veg and non veg thali in affordable prices. Near to vashi railway.
Kerala house for every malayalee out there literally is a haven. Be it veg sadya (thali) or the non veg one, those who are craving for a "nadan oonu" this is the place!. Here rice they serve is matta rice. Accompanied by sambar, moru curry, thoran, avial, pachadi and achar along with non veg options. Pricing for veg meal is reasonable while non veg I think it's little bit on the higher side. Ambiance is kinda okay. Consider yourself lucky if you get a table!!.
Only kerala meals and fish fry. Meals are as cheap as rs. 80. And unlimited food. Hehe.....we had many functions in this place. Especially onam celebrations. People are very corporatiolve. And the sadhya and payassam ...yum yum yum!!! :)
This place was buzzing with office goers who had come down for a quick no fuss lunch on a weekday . We ordered a thali along with chicken and fish fry . Simple , decent and very affordable
Do visit the place if you want to have authentic Kerala food. A good thali with rice and authentic Kerala preparations...
Liked sambar n sweet made with daliya...
Serves non veg as well..
Very crowded on Sundays... Average waiting time will be 15 to 20 min...
Serves only lunch no dinner...
Visited this place on Saturday afternoon nearing to it's closing time, located on the ground floor of Kerala house near to vashi station The place is well done and the seating arrangements are also good in typical canteen style. They serve Rice (till you can fill your stomach), Sambhar, portions of sabzi, achaar, papad unlimited. Additionally you can order fish (surmai deep fried, tasted good), Chicken(Leg piece,2 additional pieces, fried well tasted ok),Buttermilk (good, spicy). Did not get Fish curry and Chapati since it was over. Service is fast and friendly. The place gets crowded and there is waiting for sometime till your number comes. This place is the ideal place to be if you want to fill your stomach with rice to the max on a less amount of cash (less than Rs.100). Fish fry and chicken fry are additionally priced. Cards are not accepted.
Food :- 4/5
Service :- 5/5
Vfm for 💰 :- 5/5
The best place to go for having a kerala meal. The ambience and service is pretty good. My favorite is fish curry meals with king fish fry. Do go if you love to try kerala cuisine.
Ever wanted to eat simple south Indian food?
Have less money but alot of hunger?
Have a sensitive stomach?
Well Hungerphobic recommends you to try this place.
There is no menu.
You get unlimited sambar, rice, sabzi and curry only for 70₹.
Add ons like fish curry, fish fry, chixken is 70₹ each.
Food was great, service is fast and the servers are helpful.
I visited this place with a friend and filled ourselves till throat yet the total cost was only 290₹.
Well enough reasons to try this place once.
It is quite famous among Malayalis and many non-Malayalis also visit here frequently... Good and authentic malayali food (meal) is served here..... U can order additional fish fry or fish curry (but fish pieces wud be very less/small), even papad (pappadam) and spicy buttermilk (morum vellam).... I wouldn't recommend chicken here.... On weekends there is a huge rush... So one should go early to avoid standing in queue.. And during ONAM, making early reservation is advised........ Can be visited with family also..... Price is quite reasonable... Ambience is good... Service is prompt....Overall 3.5/5
I had heard a lot about this place via online community and finally managed to visit it yesterday.
It's not a full fledged restaurant and it's open only for Lunch n that too only between 12.30pm till 3.00pm
It's actually a canteen inside Kerala House, near Vashi Railway station.
Seating is comfortable and simple.
Tables are HUGE for 4 people to sit. It's almost difficult to talk to each other across the table.
Food - We went on Saturday so it was pretty simple fare. Food consists of fixed menu of the day.
We started with pink coloured warm water which is actually made by boiling certain roots.
Unlimited boiled brown rice - Matta Rice, sambhar, kadhi, Thoran, Avial, Pumpkin salad, fried rice papad and pickle made the thali of the day.
For Non-Vegetarians it was all the same with additional serving of fried fish.
At Kerala House, they believe in keeping things simple. Food has homely authentic keralite feel.
Taste was perfect. Food kept coming till we were totally full.
On weekends, you better reach by 12.15 pm or b prepared to wait in line.
On Sunday they serve food on banana leaf and menu has few more items on it along with desert.
Recommended for food lovers who want typical kerala cuisine without any frills.
Fast Service, Authentic Taste and super value for money are USP here.
If you are hardcore rice lover then this place is made for you.
Kerala house is purely south Indian restaurant situated near Vashi Railway station.
It is hardly 15 min walk from station.
Kerala House serves unlimited brown rice with sambar and kadi at merely 60 rs.
If you are damn hungry and don't want to spend much then go for it.
You can enjoy authentic south Indian food here.
This place is crowded all the time. There is often waiting period, specially at the afternoon time.
You won't get regular water here. They serve a a different kind of water a slightly pinkish in color which is boiled with some kind of roots.
Don't expect high class ambience here. Place is clean and hygienic.
Service is really quick. Annas serving rice won't keep your plate empty until your tummy is full and about to burst.
Food Quality is good and staff is also polite and courteous.
I will definitely suggest this place to try at least once.
I found this place on Zomato and looking at their pricing, never expected much from it. They serve a South Indian Thali for Rs.60/- (subject to changes). Wait, that's not all.
Kerala House is a canteen located inside the Kerala Bhavan, Vashi. The place is massive and wonderful. We had 30 people ahead of us in the queue to have food. You can be seated comfortably in the air conditioned lobby till you turn comes.
The thali is simple vegetarian consisting ukda rice, sambar, 3 types of sabzis, pickle, papad, dahi kadi, fried dry mirchi. You can add fried chicken, fried fish or fish curry to it at additional cost. I had fried chicken, it tasted flavoursome but was too hard to chew.
You don't have much time to sit and chit-chat. Just enjoy the food quickly. A must visit place for all the foodies.
Check out the photos.

Great place. You will have pure authentic south indian taste here. It costs you only 120 Rs and you can eat as much as you want. Friendly staff. Good service. ❤️❤️❤️
Life is best lived uncomplicated, isn't it ? This place follows a same uncomplicated style of functioning, right from restaurant entry to the final goodbye. This place is located inside " Kerala Bhavan" which is near Vashi Station. It's actually a canteen of Kerala Bhavan, so any fine dine ideas you have, kindly purge it right away. A front-desk kind of person guides people to the seats, be prepared to share tables with strangers. The tables are big and long, so there is no scope for anyone to eavesdrop on your conversations. The place is typically keralite, don't show off your iPhones or Gucci here, no one really cares🤣. The waiters are all Mallus with thick dense moustaches, Shooter Anna style. Don't ask for the menu card, because there is no menu card. You have to go for a veg thali, plus you can order fish fry or fish curry or chicken. First thing to hit your plate is ukada rice, followed by sambhar or rasam. The sabzis and popadum add value to the thali. The fish fry was a good deal at Rs.180. The rice, sambhar and sabzis are on the house!! They don't serve any kind of breads. The food is all authentic " shipped from Kerala " stuff. Cards are not accepted, so be ready with cash. This is the closest you can get to Kerala cuisine in Navi Mumbai !!
To begin with, this review pertains to the Onam Sadya (feast) being served in the Kerala House. Hence, it might not be an accurate representation of their regular fare.
I had the Sadya a day before Thiruvonam (the main day). The accompaniments along with the meal was limited considering a Sadya normally has over 15 variants of vegetables served in your leaf. But, the taste was pretty much intact and it did feel like a bite of Kerala in my mouth.
More than the food, I was impressed by the service, wherein they had no qualms to give me additional offerings of the Jaggery payasam as well. I'm usually frowned upon by certain waiters and restaurant owners when I ask for another serving, but here they were more than happy.
The meal is absolute value for money at Rs. 200 considering the fact that most places in Mumbai charge upwards of 450 bucks for Sadya.
Join the LET'S EAT MUMBAI group on Facebook for food updates in the city.
Super kerala sadhya love it and filling as always.....I visit the this place every month atleast once since the time I Discovered it.the food served is a kerala style sadhya veg meal which is served unlimited....For 70 bucks...on festival days its at 120 buck with special menu served on banana leaf. For non veg add on like fried chicken, fish curry and fish fry you have to order separately if you wish....however it only serves lunch between 12 to 3 to be there on time guys....
1stly they provide unlimited thali with +1 of any chicken or fish or fish curry.
Now coming to what i eat is always fish curry rice and at times fish fry with the thali.
Thali consists of more than 4 bhajis and amazing papad fry, yumm...
The taste is really a trip to Kerela types !
One can enjoy the authentic and budget food of Kerela at this place.
A must visit for everyone
Just prodigious place for lunch prices are very cheap. We tried both veg and non veg food and it is purely delicious.we have been here many times the quality of the food remains as it is.it is a crowded place though anytime you go you will find it tough to get a table.
One of the best Navi Mumbai's "value for money" place.
Had a fish and chicken fry with Veg meal.i felt samber was average in taste.rest of things in the meal was tasted to perfection!(biggest surprise was -veg meal is unlimited)Fish and Chicken just like what we have at home, beautifully cooked. Service is superfast so if your office is near to Vashi-nerul then u can catch this place for quick lunch!
Decent, hygenic, low-profile place to have the best authentic kerala food in vashi at just rs 70 for an unlimited meal. You have to share the table which is big and comfortable. The sambar-rice is out of this world. The vegetables are prepared in authentic kerala style. The papads and fried stuffed chillies are great accomplishments. The butter-milk has whole curry leaves and grated ginger and chillies in it. The place serves only lunch and is always crowded during weekends.
Only on Sundays
1. food is served on banana leaves
2. Serves pysum.
Only on Sundays:
The place serves veg sadhya at ₹120 each. The veg food was awesome, around 7-8 curries with unlimited rice served in banana leaf, curries and payasam at the end. But the part we didn't like is the non veg dishes, highly overpriced. Fish fry was ₹180 a piece which didn't taste good, it was oil fried and the meat lacked softness. Same with chicken fry, ₹65 for 2 pieces, oil fried and served with chaat masala, not worth the taste. But the staff were very good, polite and really good hospitality. Good place to visit for occasional lunch. And their timings too are only from 12:30 to 2:20, so only 2 hours window to have lunch there.
Other days:
₹70 for unlimited thali served on plates. 4 curries, rice, papad and pickle. Tasted okay. But I'd prefer Sunday meal here than on weekdays.
This place was like a Full Moon to the Werewolf in me. The moment I stepped in, the Malayali in me just came to life. The exotic tastes and the flavors of the different items in their Sadhya is just too good to describe!! Their Neymeen Varathethe, was exomptous, the list can just go on n on n on.
The best thing about them is their service. It looks like the waiters and the helpers are playing some Hotel Rush Hour game with their quickness of their hands and feet. The ambience, the culture around, the greenery, the mallu crew, the whole place is a mini Kerala, macha!!
Can't stop by to admire God's own country? Come down here, they'll give you a demo of how it would be down at Kerala!!
Food really good and value for money. Kerala Rice, sambar and rasam good... ,...... And non veg item(fish ) also good.
If they can provide chicken, will be better.
One of the best place to have sadya in Navi Mumbai area. Lunch on sunday is the best time to go even though will be crowded to enjoy the full sadya in banana leaf. Ambiance is just ok with quick service. Value for money
Superb Kerala chapad.. nice avail..nice curry .. nice fish curry.. please expand .. it takes hours to get a seat there . Pocket friendly place .
Authentic kerala food serving restaurant located inside the kerala house in Vashi. The place was pretty crowded even on the weekday. It appears they serve only rice with either veg sabji or chicken/ fish in non veg. The rice was unpolished. Chicken was fried and was decent. Overall it gave a feel of being in kerala.
Simple food. Typical South Indian food. For a change, it's a kind of good meal. You need to order separately if you need fish/chicken fry and/or Chaas (buttermilk). I'll suggest do order chaas... it's awesome; but don't go for fish fry (it's already cooked plus bit on expensive side).
At least ek visit toh banti hai boss!!
Sunday afternoon Sadyya can make your taste buds travel to Kerala. The Kerala House is the restaurant serving authentic food from Kerala , It has the traditional Banana leaf with some delicious spread making you experience the traditional food close to your home. it's pocket friendly .
Kerala House.. Heaven for South Indians.. This is my umpteenth visit to this place.
The sadya is very simple.. consists of boiled rice (which is nutritous), fish fry 🐠... with sambar (cooked in typical Kerala style with grounded masala), curd curry (thair curry or mor carry as we call), beetroot bhaji with coconut(very tasty) , tindle bhaji (which was ok), cabbage bhaji or cabbage thoran, lemon pickle and a couple of other bhaji.. The buttermilk was very good and nutritious considering it had ginger and curry leaves which also leaves a very soothing and strong, pleasant taste..🤤 🤤 🤤 😋 😋 😋 😍 😍 😍 🍲🥣🥗🥘🍱🍤🐠 🐠 🐠
Not to forget the Kerala papadam (papad) and milk payasam in the end.. Overall an awesome feeling and yummy to my tummy..
I have been a regular visitor of this place as I belong to South India The food is wholesome, nutritious and tasty. The price is affordable and service is quick. The restaurant is clean and hygienic. They serve vegetarian lunch along with chicken and fish which can be ordered by paying extra. On weekends, this is a busy place and there is waiting to get a table.
They have maintained authenticity and quality.
Good family outing place for a traditional Kerala meal.
Located in Kerala house (by Kerala tourism)..
I don't remember having a thali (kerala style)!
As per some reviews i was in a impression that food will be served on a banana leaf, but they served us in white plastic plates.
its not a problem. Water was in pink color and my friend was bit hesitated to taste them and heard its due to some infused herbs!
For me first time having this size of rice and its fine and went well with cabbage fry, sambar, gravy curry and rasam.
Fish fry is very good and it costed Rs. 180 per piece (more than double of normal meal price !)
We waited for 45mins to get place to have lunch on saturday! Overall a good experience.
I am from kerala and I came to vaashi as part of my official tour. I visited this place yesterday, ie., On 22/02/2017. I was really happy to be there. The food tasted like "Ghar ka khaana". I had fish curry meals. But it was not a Sadhya. Normally in Kerala, for Sadhya some 20 to 64 items will be served on the banana leaf including two or three varieties of "Payasam". But still, the food at Kerala house is very yummy especially the fish curry. Loved it......
Sadya !
The best kerala food in the whole of mumbai city !
In awe of this place , very simple sitting , waiting on weekends , a typical family hotel with exceptional food served on banana leaf . Fried fish is a must !

Looks can be deceptive, - this quote stands true for this canteen/restaurant.
On the surface, this unassuming ,not so fancy place may give you doubts about everything you have ever heard in it's praise.
However, wait patiently for its worth it. Visited a month back and was put off by the waiting time which was One hour and I regret having walked away that day!
Visited this weekend, to find a queue again ( looks like that's inevitable).
The concept is to eat to your heart's content a fixed saddya as they call it (thali with sambar, pickle, pappad ,4 subzi and payasam as dessert ).
The water is pink ( as it's infused with some herb) and the food is served on banana leaves.
What I loved about the place was, you have to get down and dirty!
We were surprised to see no spoons kept alongside the banana leaves. We looked around , noticed all patrons eating with their hands.
It was amazing to do away with the pretentious cutlery.
kudos! To kerala house for giving a North Indian, living in Mumbai a taste of God's own country!
Ps- do try the buttermilk, it's not included in the thali, but it's not to be missed!
I often visit this place which is near to my house, on a walkable distance of hardly 5 minutes. I love south Indian food. Though I am not big fan of Rice, but still the simplicity of this place makes me go there again and again. The food is no nonsense simple food, rice-sambar, 3 vegetables, papad, buttermilk (with ginger inside) is what I eat here. They have unlimited rice serving. Though the food is simple, the quality is decent. The food is like home cooked food, hence your health will not be in trouble. Nice place to go ones a while, and trust me its pocket friendly too.
A home for South Indians.
Experience a great taste of South and it makes you feel like you are somewhere in South.

The best stop point for South Indian food lover's at in and around Vashi. The authentic rice served with different types of sabzi and sambar and the chicken and fish you could find here makes sure that yes you are in Kerala.
Awesome restaurant in Vashi were we get authentic kerala food.... Neymeen fry is too costly. But u should try neymeen curry.... Dats pocket friendly. Only dis advantage is that this resturant will only have lunch facility....
Simply and truely authentic kerala dish here. Fixed menu... You have only 2 options either veg or non veg. I always preferred non veg fish curry.... as fish is better choice than chicken here. Being a Maharashtrian guy.. I found it different very first time. Two most important things to note are this place is pocket friendly and second is you have unlimited food (not chicken b fish).
Great place for a great South Indian meal. Only one common menu i.e. the thali which includes sambar or kadhi rice and 2 veggies, pickle and beetroot salad and finally papadam served unlimited. Additional add ons are the chicken fry, fish fry and fish curry. The non veg items didn't taste fresh. Chicken was way too dry and chewy. Fish fry was dry too and fish curry was served cold.
I loved the ambience and the meal is pocket friendly. I recommend this place at least once for a happy and full tummy. :)

Onam special food were served, it was just truly Kerla feeling and had stomach full food for just 300₹. Though not a south Indian but actually felt the authentic Kerlite taste. Keep it up.
What better time to visit "Kerala House" than "Onam"... The most celebrated festival of Kerala.
Though I had visited on 2-3 previous occasions, this is the first time I am writing about it.
So on a special occasion, we went to have special "Sadhya". Sadhya, for those who don't know, is a meal made on special occasions like Marriage, festivals and other occasions. It can be Pure Veg as well as Non-Veg. What we had was pure veg...
After waiting for around one hour, which is quite normal for the occasion... We were directed to the first floor hall, were tables were set with Banana leaves on it, having the basic achar, sweet chutney, Banana chips, Papadam etc. As we took our seats, We were first served Ukda (parboiled) rice along with a small spoon of pure ghee... Then Sambhar was poured on it and other vegetable preparations like Avial, cabbage bhaji, Gawar bhaji, Pineapple Bhaji, Chana bhaji, were served along with it. All the Bhajis were superbly made. There was also dahi cudhi served which was amazing. The food servers... Can't call them waiters... Were polite and efficient, asking if anyone needed something. You can have as much as you want... Unlimited!
To end this tasty Sadhya, there were two sweets... A Moong dal paysam and a Rice sewaiyan paysam... Both were Lip smacking 😋
Overall a Superb "experience". Do visit on special occasions, but you have to book in advance...
Rate per person was ₹300.
