Most famous for sea food. Sea food is always fresh and always too good at taste. The best thing I like about the place is they will cook the fish you choose. I have tried the stuffed pomfret with three different groups and trust me they all remember me because of it.. The prawn tandoori is also delicious.. I personally feel it to be a bit expensive but it is worth the money..

The service is exemplary and what you would expect at this price point. Quantity of the clams was less than the ville parle branch but tasted amazing. The tad bit disappointing was that the waiter didn't seem aware of the menu when asked for suggestions and wasn't completely knowledgeable about certain dishes. They are eager to help though. Wouldn't mind going again for sure.

Gajalee in Versova just 5 min away from metro is best , The Food here is yummy Butter garlic bread is outstanding, Chicken dum biriyani is delicious , Pomfret fish curry fry is superb.
The service over here and the staff is very polite with swift service.

Heard of their fish thali so had to check it out myself and it didn't disappoint. A pomfret fish thali for just 500 bucks is a steal deal that fills your tummy. Their prawns fry was also delicious and the size of the prawns is good. A must visit for sea food lovers. They have all kinds of sea food from crabs to lobster. Highly recommendee.

Gajalee is a well known name for seafood restaurants in Mumbai. And since I love seafood I recently had a visit here! So i visited the 7 bunglows, andheri outlet.
The place is quite spacious and can accomadate quite a few people.
So what we ordered-
• Tandoori lobster- 5/5 What I loved was they personally show the lobster before they prepare and then freshly prepare it. It tasted great!
• Prawns crispy fried- 4.5/5 The masala was mind blowing also the prawns were really yum!
• Fish thali- 5/5 Since we went here for dinner,so I really was excited to try their thali and I wasn't disappointed at all! Solkadi was really super tasty also the fried fish. A great option to try if you are really hungry.
I'd like to conclud saying that seafood lovers should really give this place a try if you haven't!

This is a 5/5 restaurant. The only thing that pinches is the price. Still thou my favourite sea food restaurant. Everything on the menu is a must try.

I used to be a big fan of Trishna till it closed down in the area. Thankfully there’s Gajalee that is equally good. Love the butter pepper and garlic crab and bombil fry. Service too is prompt and staff are trained well.

Been to all Gajalees in Mumbai. This one was also equally good. Good food. Fresh seafood. Service was fast. Butter garlic crab is outstanding. Thaali was enough for one. Complete value for money. Will continue to be my favourite restaurant for such good food.

The presentation of the food is very much appeasing.
In starters, soup section was very amazing best was the prawns soup.

Being a crazy sea food lover, I went to try their fish thali few days back. I ordered a rawas fish thali, as they were out of prawns thali and I don't regret my decision. This was perfectly made and was tangy and yummy. I really wished they would have served rice flour chapati instead of wheat chapati.
Loved the place. Ambience is good too. We walked in on a Sunday evening hunkering for a good Butter Garlic Crab. We ordered a crab weighing about 850 grams which costed us around 2800. It was very fresh and very well made. High quality service from the staff too. We also tried the stuffed Bombay duck. It was very tasty though personally I would prefer sticking to the conventional Bombay duck fries.
Place worth visiting for a sea food enthusiast. Only thing worth considering could be if they could widen their menu options with some other sea food cuisines like other similar places such as Mahesh Lunch Home.

A place which needs no introduction, Gajalee has 5 outlets in the city. Andheri one being the closest to my home, I decided to opt for this outlet. It's an expensive restaurant and the menu on Zomato is old. They need to update it with the latest one. Went here for lunch with family and here's what I tasted at Gajalee
1. Bombil Fry - 4 pieces of Deep fried Bombil/Bombay Duck. They removed the central bone and it tasted yum. They serve it with a different chutney, adding to its taste. Price - 325/
2. Fish Tikka - 6 square shaped BBQ fish pieces. Price - Rs 825/- . Extremely Overpriced.
3. One Blueberry Cheesecake - It was yum! Rs 150/
4. Plain Rice
5. Regular Kulfi - This was served compliments to us because we booked our table through the Dineout app
6. Solkadhi
7. Special Prawns curry - I loved the gravy they had served. Yummy! But ,there were barely 6-7 pieces of prawns. The quantity is very less to be honest for Rs 400
Overall, I'm happy with the visit, but the staff should consider reducing the prices. The service is really good. Happy with that.

My craving for seafood and boredom from chicken and meat based dishes bought me to Gajalee, a place which has made it's name in seafood cuisine.
Coming to the location, it's located in the inner lanes of versova surrounded by residential complexes. Not a very hard find though.
The place offers outdoor and indoor seating arrangements.Outdoor seating also seems a pleasant option only if the weather is good enough.
A considerably bigger place with lots of tables, so it can adjust groups of all sizes.
Coming to the food, we started off with their prawns soup which was yum. We wanted to try their crab soup but they didn't have any.
In appetisers we tried their bombil fry, clams butter pepper garlic, fish roll, stuffed pomfret and tiger prawns. All were delicious, but their fish roll was the show stopper. Also, their butter pepper garlic has a more dominating garlic flavour to it so please make note before ordering.
Coming to their main course, we had their prawns curry and clam koshimbir with ghavne and nachni bhakri. Again no complaints about the taste, they were flavourful and a delight to have.
Did not like their solkadi though.
The staff is co-operative and helpful. They bring a tray full of fishes to choose from!!!!
Overall my craving for seafood has only increased after this experience, will surely be going back to try their other dishes as well!!
This place servers the best food ever, their speciality is of fish food, and yes the pricing of the food is also very expensive. I suppose 4 people could eat at the average price of 2,000 - 2,500.
I could have given 5 stars easily for the food but for the pricing i can limit myself with 4 stars only.
I had ordered crab soup which really spicy but tasty, then prawns biryani was also good with full essence on the taste buds. Then i had chicken tandoori also which was prepared using fish masala honestly i did not expect for the dish of chicken tandoori to be made by fish masala which was new to me i would say the taste of the tandoori was average, i mean it was soft and properly boiled but the fish masala made it taste less delicious.

Loved the Ambience here and the food was top notch. Must try Stuffed Bombil Fry, Chicken Rikkas, Solkadi and Mutton Biriyani. The service was good and the sea food selection was very varied.
If you love fish this is the place to go. I’ve tried almost all of their dishes and each one taste unique and authentic. Fish Biryani is a must.
Visited this places after hearing a lot of good things. I was not disappointed. The ambience is light and minimal. The waiter helped in finalising the food. The biryani was nice and tasteful. The custard was ok.

This is the place to eat crab in Mumbai. They once brought a dozen live crabs to my table and as the crustaceans scurried around, asked me to select one. I did. The crab was duly assassinated and though the dish they made from it was delicious, I felt a little like gang boss who had ordered a hit!
The original and the best Gajalee is still the one in Vile Parle. It is meant for locals (a broad definition that covers everyone from SachinTendulkar to Lata Mangeshkar to you and me) and no attempt is made to entice foreign tourists. Though the owners, who live above the restaurant, are from Mangalore, they specialise in cooking the sea food of the Maharashtra coast though, inevitably, the Mangalore influences do creep in. That said, the cuisine is authentic, with attention being paid to both fresh seafood which is flown in daily and to freshly ground masalas made to traditional recipes. If Gajalee did not invent the fried bombil (they say they did), then it certainly popularised this version of the dish which turns up on menus everywhere, now. Steer clear of the North Indian but they do manage a moist and succulent tandoori fish.

If you are a seafood lover then this is the perfect place for you! The ambience is pretty simple and apt for your family dine out. The service made me more than happy as the staff is very friendly and knows how to keep the customers happy. The food is absolutely worth it's value and I bet you would want to come to this place again and again.
My order-
1) Crab soup - The piping hot spicy soup with soft crab meat had the perfect proportion of the spices. The red colour having white crab meat was great start.
2) Oyster fry - The crispy coating on the soft oyster served with a green chutney looked real simple but had a unique flavour.
3) Butter garlic pepper Lobster - This was so far the best butter garlic sauce I have had ever tasted. The blend was a real treat and one could just tell by the fragrance that it is going to be super. I recommend it to all!
4) Tandoori Pomfret - Another dish which you shouldn't be missing here. The dish's name might seem common but it's saporous. It's not very spicy, a little tangy and tastes best with chopped onion and lemon.
5) Fruit pastry - Scrumptious is the term for it. It is gorgeous, lip smacking, delightful, mouth watering summing it as very very delicious.
Its been a long hiatus for sea food..almost 1.5 years.. Gajalee was the obvious choice..
Prawns koliwada, Tandoor Pomphret with Sol kaddi was simply superb. Though the Surmai kalwan and chapati was a let down , another round of solkadi made up for it..
Staff is friendly and helps in recommendations.
Place is centrally located and hygienic..
It's pricey.. but hey, great things come at a price..

If I could give the restaurant 6 stars, I would without batting an eyelid. By far the best meal I’ve had in a while! Our choices were made for us by Mr. Ganesh, who was ever smiling, and picked out a meal so filling that I ended up eating thrice the amount I normally do. The entire staff was super courteous and my friend Anuran, who was throwing a dinner party, ended up having to loosen his belt to be able to accommodate a bit more. Thanks guys for the lovely evening, the lovelier service and the loveliest food!
So I was there last week with my niece for lunch. The staff was very patient, because we were confused as hell in what to order. Because everything’s our favourite. So we went ahead with the suggestion of our wait staff. And we couldn’t have asked for a better meal! Only regret, I didn’t ask his name. Always been a fan of this place. It serves you good sea food which is always fresh. The best thing to try is the butter garlic prawns. I also like their pomfret Nd bombil fry. They also serve son kadi but personally I’m not a fan of it but other members of my family did that as well. Staff is good. It’s always a nice experience here.
I know it's a seafood place , but try the mutton Nalli , mutton chop . Lip smacking is the word . Fish tandoori is to die for ! Solkadi will end your meal alkaline 😉

The manager would welcome you at the entrance. Recommended to reserve a table before . We ordered Fish Tikka ( without oil and butter ) and it was simply delicious. We also had crab meat soup . For main course , Restaurant has large varieties of sea food, chicken and mutton thali that you can experiment with. Wouldn’t recommend this place for vegetarians coz it was a dissatisfying one
This place gave the best crab experience ever. Tandoori Crab although on the higher side is cooked to perfection on flavour, quality and presentation. The masala's aren't overpowering the crab meat , which is usually the case. Relished the dish and the fish thali too. Only feedback is the bombil fry is too oily and can make you feel heavy easily. So best to avoid atleast as a starter.

It’s a nice place to have some sea food if you prefer sea food over other types of protein. Personally I’m not a very big fan of sea food but finally decided to visit this place due to some recommendations. Overall this place is nice and worth a visit. Now coming to the food, we ordered fish roll, tandoori pomfret, butter garlic pepper prawns along with some neer dosa type of bread and sol kadi. Fish roll was really good, crisp on the outside and had decent fillings in it. Tandoori pomfret was equally good. It was less crispier on the outside than I anticipated but that’s just a minor preference thing for me. Lastly butter garlic prawns was decent although slightly on the sweeter side. Would suggest to have butter garlic prawns as soon as it is served. The ambience of this place is good and the staff are really courteous.
Have been to Gazalee twice, though my first experience wasn’t that good, had visited in end of July 18 for dinner being a sea food speciality restaurant no sea food Items were available, what I expected from the restaurant was to inform us once we entered the restaurant if sea food items like prawns,kingfish, bombil was not available. Pomfret was available at an abnoxious price of 3500-4000 rupees which we noticed the manager was in a position to negotiate on another table, this was not acceptable. Being a sea food lover we once again visited the same place for lunch 3 weeks later and this time we got lucky with a delicious fish thali lunch.
Went on a Sat afternoon for lunch,crowd was good & food was the best.We had Bombay Duck Roll,Chicken Seekh Kebab & Fish Tikka (Surmai).Both the food seafood items were too good, specially Bombay Duck Roll was the best.Chicken Seekh Kebab was ok & the yellow chutney they served was out of this world.Staff were very courteous & attentive.Just found food too pricey for the quantity,apart from that no other issue.
Gajalee a legendary name if you crave for seafood. Everything that is available on the menu is worth having, but I especially love their Crab Tandoori.
If you are ordering for home delivery, the Pomfret / Prawns tiffin is simply fabulous.

I've always been a sea food lover, and recipes what gajalee have are the reason why!! Simple but elegant.
The pomfret which was shown to us was twice to thrice the size of our palm and cooked in a traditional Konkan style, simply speechless.
The waiter adviced us to top it up with white wine, chenin Blanc which was my favourite white wine and the combination kicked ass!
The butter garlic crab was very huge and highly priced too, but worth every penny. One mouthful and it just melts in there! My favourite dish and it's a must try!
The sea food kebabs were so well cooked and served with the green chutney that we simply lost the interest of eating chicken! Full marks for the preparation
In the end we ordered a prawns biryani plate, the prawns were the size of my hand and the dish was prepared so well we had to order another one!
Finally caramel custard: Expectations met, great meal

Gazalee...This place was recommended by a very dear friend who is also a big time foodie.This stop is a place for non vegetarians,but even like heaven for seafood lovers.Its like a paradise for them.I tried many items as we were five of us...I like the most was butter garlic prawns....it just melted in my mouth.Chicken and mutton lovers will also love this place as it gives you heart and soul satisfying experience.Lobsters were also well cooked.The spices they use are of very good quality.The food is so fresh here especially sea food.Looking forward for another over whelming experience soon.

Surprisingly Veg Food... Kolhapuri is good too! Recommended: Clams, Oyster Masala, Tiger Prawns, warm staff, ready to serve and nice ambience too... Slightly high priced... However, great things don't come cheap!

Extremely expensive high end fish speciality restaurant ... good service .. often great quality .. try their thaalis , fry surmai .. mutton dum biryani ( although the meat pieces are sometimes are big n chewy ) .. prawn curry rice , solcurry , fry bombil , clams koshimbeer , mutton chops masala , ghaavne , aamboli .. but their signature dish is tandoor crab or tandoor pompfret ..its simply heaven .. use hands .. no one judges u here as whoever comes here is generally a fish lover ..

The coconut based fish curry is worth a try . Food is tasty here , was busy eating g hence could snap justbefore ending up the dinner 😉

One of the best places to enjoy fish... You have to try bombil fry, the best preparation I have had so far... And Sol Kadhi is very much authentic... If ordering a thali then bombil fry will be included, I am sure you will order a separate portion of it

The restaurant serves vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes. No bar. North Indian and well as coastal dishes are well prepared and portions are sufficient. Staff is very well trained to serve and suggest to your liking if you give them information of your taste buds. Once is definitely recommended.
