This place is hardly a few minutes walk from the vet Station. The food here is good and each of the vegetables have a different flavour. The special roti's are dipped in butter and really soft. We ordered two different Thali's and it was good. The ambience is alright, they have an ac section above as well.
Service my helper was good especially the one who attended us sujit.
Had organized family lunch here twice. Management did accommodate for our request and did organize the lunch very well

Just visit this place for khichiya churi...amazing yummy and so good...again very close to office and I tried the makki ki roti and Sarson ka saag...and indeed it was extremely yummy ...it gets very crowded around lunch time...so I recommend you reach early as the space is limited....the food is good

Lasooni was really tasty and comes with quantity that can be enjoyed by two people easily.
The biryani was alright; not bad but not that good as other biryanis I have tasted. It felt more like a pulao than an authentic biryani.
I love their special chapattis, fluffy and so good in taste. It was well made.
Though I didn't enjoy eating biryani, the quality as well as quantity of the entire food was absolutely good. No complaints.
In the past I have visited the fort outlet and the service of the restaurant and the seating arrangements are perfect for the family to enjoy Nanumal's popular dishes. The pricing is fair and not that costly. The ambience is simple but there's an AC section on the upper floor. It takes some time to get the food items, esp. if you have ordered more than one item, but the wait is worth as they serve really good quality food.
Nanumal do not use any flavours, essence or preservatives in their food preparation and that makes it even better to enjoy tasty food with the family

Nanumal bhojraj is the only hotel, whenever I have eaten at this place. My tummy doesn't feels full at all, rather you are satisfied after eating. Since the food here is not too heavy but it is 100% tasty.
They serve varieties of cuisines like North Indian, Jain dishes, South Indian, Thali, Pizza, Sandwich, Pav bhaji, Chinese, Fasting dishes, cold drinks & milkshakes.
What I tried--
1. Masala Kicha papad-- Crispy deep fried kicha papad topped with tomatoes, onions, masala & spicy sev. it is served with spicy green chutney which is absolutely delicious. A MUST TRY!
2. Papad choori-- Crushed fried papad, with green chilli pieces & caramelised onions.
3. Butter Roti-- Soft & smooth.
4. Paneer amritsari-- This dish was on their special menu. we also asked them to make it spicy, and it was delightful! A MUST TRY!
5. Paneer tikka masala-- Spicy Paneer with Red gravy. Paneer tikka masala is my all time favourite dish at any restaurant
6. Veg Jaipuri-- Mix of all veggies, with yellowish greenish gravy. Medium spicy.
7. Boondi raita-- The quantity of raita is quite less. and boondi is hardly seen. But it's yummy.
8. Dal khichdi-- Dal khichdi was quite basic
9. Buttermilk-- Thick buttermilk, with added jeera powder & salt. It is served in bottle. or In a glass. (single)
10. Moong dal sheera-- A MUST TRY if you love sheera. It was not too sweet. and fulfilling. Made in ghee.
11. Gulab Jamun-- Two pieces of warm Gulab jamun, soft and cooked well. A MUST TRY dish for all indian sweet lovers.
Coming to the ambience: They have AC & Non Ac Sitting.
Service is prompt, staff are polite.

While I won’t deny that I relish my non-vegetarian food, there are days when I could really do with a good dose of dal, roti and sabzi. While the city is spoilt for choice when it comes to quality vegetarian food, I can’t explain why, when I’m in South Bombay, this is the place I’d pick for my vegetarian fix.
Whether it’s the spices they use, secret recipes or the fresh produce, I can’t get enough of it. I particularly enjoy the Karela Pyaaz and the Mehti ki Sabzi, two dishes I usually steer clear from when served at home. And that’s really saying something.
The only thing wrong is the copious amounts of oil the restaurant uses in most of their dishes. And while I wouldn’t recommend eating such oily food on a regular basis, if you are in the mood for something delicious, despite being a little on the oilier side, don’t give this place a miss!

This is a decent place for those looking at good vegetarian food. It's an unpretentious place that makes no bones about the fact that their key strength is good food.
Although, I am not a huge fan of Dal Khichdi, I have to admit, the Dal-Khichdi here is outstanding. I had Chole Kulche. the portions were generous. Although, I felt, that the food was a bit on the spicier side.
Will definitely go back again. When? I don't know about that.
Had been here on Diwali when all other restaurants had an hours waiting time. The only place to have welcomed us in without a waiting time. Got to know that they have opened up recently. When ever I'm at Fort and feel like eating veg, this the place I go. The food here is delicious for your tongue, specially it is made in ghee. For me the papad churri will start the plating and then daal fry tadaka, palak paneer, paneer makhanwala, roti, jeera rice. It's a value for me, where you won't disappoint with your choice after eating.
I don't usually enjoy eating a full vegetarian meal, but thanks to my friends I have been to this place twice now. And by far my experience at Nanumal Bhojraj was a good one. We sat in the AC section both the times. And we have tried the #MasalaPapad #MashroomMasala with #Chapati we also tried #VegTiranaga it was basically a veg spring-roll with both green and red gravy topped with some cream hence making the dish look like the Indian flag, the waiter served it exactly the same way in our plates so it looked like a tiranga. We also ordered for #Chaas to my surprise it came in like a brown colored bottle (identical to a beer bottle :p) Overall the food here is nice, and is also value for money.
We had dined at the AC area. Food was quite OK. Ordinary ambience. The area was not having a pleasant smell. Noisy atmosphere as big group of people were there. Overall a value for money place.
The restaurant has great north indian food. The curries at this vegetarian place as authentic as it gets. Had chole, paneer bhurji and another veg. Reminded me of my mother's punju food. Great place to go, evening regularly!

Have been ordering here for a few days. I have tried their south Indian menu of rava dosa which was excellent, but found their sambar a bit sweet. The special Thali was huge. It was more than sufficient for one person. But I found the sabji and paneer too oily and could not differentiate them in taste. But the food is served hot even when packed and they have a varied menu. I would recommend them to everyone.
A nice wide spread place with a menu best suitable for dinner and decent Indian food. Love the usual visits here. Definitely should try out there. Nice service, food.
I would personally give a 5 star for its great food. Visited yesterday. If you want to eat Punjabi food then you should definately try this restaurent. They have a huge menu with lot of variety of food. They serve daily specially food too. I like its rajasthani kofta and paneer tikka masala. They serve a dish called khichiya chura (crushed papad & fried onion with desi ghee) was simply finger licking. I loved their chaas (buttermilk) served in kingfisher bottle with perfect taste. They have lot of variety of breads eg garlic bread,makke ki roti,bajre ki roti,missi roti etc which make us feel having food in punjab. And last but not the least sweet dish called moong dal ka halwa was simply relicious.

I have eaten at the outlet near jewel World in Zhaveri Bazaar. Delectable Punjabi cuisine at very affordable prices. Thaali is definitely a must try. Also try the Baigan Bharta.

I am writing this after rating Bhagat Tarachand, they both have very similar menu's and the taste is also very much the same, but I am rating this 0.5 more than Bhagat Tarachand for the very fact that they have very nice subzi's and deserts.... Kaju masala is a must try. This is also very much a vegetarians delight.... Papad churi, dal tadka, spcl chapati and chaas are their all time classic items which must not be missed. They are famous for their thalis which are cost optimized.
Moong daal halwa is to die for, also they serve different types of breads like jowar, bajra and missi roti.
Service is superrr and quick. Ambiance is fine, this place is pocket friendly.
One for thr veggies out there . Try out thier daily special thali and south Indian thali. Both are really good.others I haven't given much a try .The desserts they serve with the thali is the best of all.

My 1st visit to this place, Next to Sher-E-Punjab near the GPO, CSTM. A veggie delight, excellent variety and Excellent staff, easy on the pocket, their Naan was the best thing I've had in Mumbai. 👍. Will Definitely recommend to my friends out there.
We went here on a weekday. I've heard a lot about Nanumal Bhojraj from friends, but never had a chance to try it out. The problem with Indian cuisine is that it almost tastes similar everywhere, but these guys are a little different. Not sure who has been in the market for a longer time, Bhagat Tarachand or Nanumal Bhojraj, but they are similar in a lot of aspects.
The food was good and the service was quick too. We went for their specials menu and were not disappointed. The place is easy on the wallet too. The biryani was very okay though. I didn't also like the Rabdi. Also, the tandori roti was too thin, I always like it a little thick and well done. Rest all was great. Do try their gulab jamun's, they are simply great.

After hearing a lot about this outlet from my fellow foodie blogger, I finally landed here for lunch early on Sunday. We began with Khichya Churi and Khichya Fry. The former has the latter in the crushed form with caramelised onions, fried green chillies, coriander and some spices mixed with it. Would have loved more quantity of the Khichya Churi. Then we had the Aloo Methi Paratha that was served hot with curd and spicy green chutney. Skip both, the Paratha tastes good just by itself, had I ordered the butter-smeared version I'm sure it would have tasted even better! There were 4 big pieces after which there was only place for something sweet. Tempted as I was to have their popular and my favourite Gulab Jamun, I instead ordered Moong Dal Sheera which was almost perfect. Cooked in ghee, the only thing missing was a garnish of some dry fruits. All this amounted to within INR 300, totally VFM!!! Highly recommended for those working or/& living in the area. They don't serve thalis on Sundays and bank holidays so go on a weekday if you are going for the thali.

Nanumal bhojraj a very old franchise. Known for indian or north indian food and thali. Located at fort. Has Ac and non Ac sitting. Ac sitting is sub divided in 2 different section attached to each other. The taste is what its Usp. Must try its thali.
We all love to be in a place ( and this is surely one) where the food is simple, tasty,the management concerned and the waiters are prompt and caring. Have visited this place a few times now, I am quite impressed with the simplicity and the excellent quality of food. The Place might not be your favourite for a romantic dinner or a special occasion meeting but certainly is the place where your stomach and taste buds will appreciate and thank you. All preparations have their distinct taste. The Tawa Chappatis are soft and fluffy. They also serve Thali which is again simple and tasty. The Kichidi is also worth mentioning and recommended.
Amazing food on plate here! Veg Crispy, Dal Khichdi, Butter Parathas were yummy! Comfy ambience and very neat place. Parathas were nice and soft, best ones i can say till now! Give a try:)
Excellent food. We ordered from this place for lunch and the delivery was quick and the food was yummy. Especially the ghee dal tadka. Its the best dal tadka that I've ever had in any of the restaurants. The pander vegetable was also tasty. Would definitely want to visit again and try some more stuff.
If you want to pamper your palate with veg food - close to homemade food then this is the destination in fort area. Curries are good and with balanced amount of oil and spices.
The best part is ghee phulka served which is like dipped in ghee and softest I ever had.
Good taste,Good food but quality is not as per my expectations, but Food was Good, I think so he has same menu like Bhagat tarachand... Try it if you would be in that area...

If you are near CST and are looking for a quick veg meal, this is your place! Pocket friendly, good ambience, ideal for a wholesome veg meal. They are however limited in terms of availability of south Indian items on the menu.

Recently discovered this place near my office and I must say they serve some really good Indian food. It has a very homely taste to it and more importantly it is delicious. I would recommend the daal khichdi there if you want to have a rice item, cause it really tastes good.
A great place for a wholesome vegetarian meal in town. This outlet is decidedly swankier than it's poorer cousin beyond Crawford Market; the mezzanine floor is roomy and airconditioned.
Went for the recommend dishes of kicha churi, veg lasuni, masala kulcha and dal khichdi. Each of the dishes are enough for two ravenous individuals or three miserly eaters. Food was flavoursome yet nothing to die for.
The name says it all , one of the best veg restaurants as a option in this area. Very close to GPO and opposite sher e punjab hotel which itself is a landmark. One fine sunday eve we thought to go for the thali experience here but unfortunately they dont serve thalis on sunday eve and also on public holidays so one may just be cautioned about this. Then we decided to try their regular menu which is very wide. All the dishes are super tasty. What made the meal complete was the deserts the mong dal sheera was just perfect made in pure ghee. Overall a very very recommended place to go.

I went here for a frns farewell n I must say it was awsum it's is easy to locate n the place is fine I went up I ordered manchurian for kids n the gravy was good the balls were a little hard then it took a little time for our main food the service was ok the dress was not neat but after having food I was on the seventh sky I ordered man n roti which were perfect while I liked the way they served the chas in a beer bottle I ordered planner Lahori special of a Friday n it was too good the quantity was less according to price the Ali Ghani pass was gud n mix dry the dal was a little sweet

The Fort outlet of Nanumal Bhojraj is the ulimate destination for all vegetarians, visited this place to celebrate my friend's bday. As recommended we ordered Chaas, and were quite impressed by the taste and quality.....Dal lasooni and veg pulaav are the best....Chapatis prepared with desi ghee is the thing satisfies you even more....Service is excellent and ambience is cool......value for money...

As soon as i settled i ordered Chas as per recommendations and it was one of the best I have had in long time thumps up to Chas.
Ordered special thali as I went alone to have lunch and the butter roti was so soaked in butter that after having only roti I was feeling sated.
Daal lassoni was very hot and tasty.
Gulab jamoon , raita and two other vegetables were nice.
Service & sitting are good too...
A paradise for vegetarian dishes...

Tried out their special thali on weekend...taste was good...thought they could do with little addition on the number of dishes they serve...paneer makhanwala was apt and the Punjabi touch in their preparations does the trick...service was fast....pocket friendly...overall an obvious choice when you are in fort area and you are a vegetarian!
This place has recently become my favorite veg restaurant. As soon as you get a table just order chaas and papad churi blindly and then start scanning the menu. I loved the veg lasooni and paneer kofta. The paratha and chapati in desi ghee are very soft and really elevate your dining experience. Of course if you're the kind of person who counts calories in everything then they're definitely not for you. The double dal tadka is also very good. For desserts you can order rabdi. It's quite thick.

As soon as we took our seat we ordered Chass (butter milk) to quench our thurst. It was really good and wasn't sour at all. We then ordered another speciality "papad churi" and relished it. As everyone was very hungry ordering thali was easiest option. Special thali came with butter roti which was fantastic. 2 Subzis were ok. Dal tadka was full of butter (too much that it kills the dal taste). Gulab Jambun with the thali was superb, if served hot then it can be icing on the cake. Service was prompt and waiters are friendly. Overall had good lunch.

This is how good should be served when you claim to serve Punjabi food. Laden with pure ghee and butter, this is one of its kind similar to that of Bhagat Tarachand. Supremely rich and heavy on guts, not a daily affair but can be indulged once in a while. Loved their daal... copious amount of ghee with deep fried onion shreds make it a dish to die for. Highly recommended

The food is very good but a little heavy as made from pure ghee. The meethi lasooni is something I can have everyday for the rest of my life. Tomato sev masala was very authentic.

I have dined here multiple times n have never been disappointed with either the food or service .. Haven't had the indianised Chinese on offer else the North & South Indian fare is excellent ..
The special thali priced at 160 bucks is a steal .. With the things on offer its sure gonna fill ur greedy stomach to perfection

Ate many times here. Quality is good. It's fine and environment is also ok. Ground floor is Non AC and first floor is AC. We had chapathi, dal rice, dal fry, dal tadka, biryani, pulao etc.,. Items are good. Chaas is also there which will be in bottles. Each bottle 45. Three to Four can have it.
The food over here is a delight. If you wanna know what to order? Just order anything from the list of "our specialty" sweets are perfectly sweet!!
