One of my favourite restaurants for veg that is Golden wheel,tried amazing platters there. Barbecue panner,Harabhara kabab,tossed vegetables and many more items is all I had in this platter.Superb quality and great service at the restaurant.

This place is very close to charni road station. They have amazing ambience. We tried its paneer tikka biryani and its super amazing. They also have amazing soups. Must try.
Quite standard restaurant for middle class multi cuisine covering all types of dishes. The food quality though has gone down a bit since years and there are better options if you can spend a bit more.
"Golden Wheel" restaurant is in the same commercial complex as of mine so we are frequently-visitor there. The food quality is great and is not too heavy on pockets. The ambience is nice and pleasant, they have separate space
for large groups and Reunion-parties🎉

This place is a very decent place with good ambience, vallet parking right in the heart of Mumbai that is girgaum. Service is very prompt with extremely polite staff. We started with khiccha papad with tasted good, starter Paneer Lahsooni was great with a very fresh and tender paneer. Then we ordered manchurian which was again crispy and tasty. Khashta Roll was the star dish an amazing unique recipe which I guess you will find here only. Dal khichadi were ordered was again well cooked. Appetizers like Chaas and Fresh Lime Soda were fab. A bit on the expensive side but again worth the spending with a happy tummy.

Visited Golden Wheel for lunch. Had one of the best Punjabi dishes. Had sufficient portions of vegetables. Atmosphere was pleasant for a quiet lunch.
Had Jain dishes also, as expected considering it is a pure veg restaurant. All in all, it was a satisfactory experience

The amount and variety of options they provide with the alcohol is impressive. Papad, dal, nuts, batata vada and salad. Yes, you read it right. They serve batata vada with alcohol.
The food was super yummy and the service was prompt. We went at 10.30 and restaurant was st ill

This veg place is located at gigaum behind central plaza. It has valet. The place is not particularly appealing from outside but is fairly grand from inside. We were given a table on the first floor. Tables are round and big which gives a very royal feeling. The place is well lit and decently decorated.
We were two hoggers and we ordered a veg Patiala as curry and rumali roti for myself and a butter naan for my friend with Dal tadka. The quantity is massive. The curry could easily serve four people. It's made in Cashew based gravy and has a unique taste. It's a must have here. The rumali roti was very well cooked and the naan too. The Dal was also so well prepared. The tadka primarily of garlic is so well done. It's not oily like in many places and yet just as tasty. Next we ordered a portion of jeera rice and the combination with Dal and veg Patiala is just perfect. I ordered a fruit punch along with my food order and it was very thick and quite tasty.
I would like to point out one thing that was annoying there. They have a small party hall just next to the seating area and every time some one opens the door, the seating hall would suddenly be very loud.
All in all however this place is amazing if you r looking for a wholesome Indian meal. I must add that it's one of those very few pure veg places which serves alcohol. Definitely a go if you are in the area.

One of the very old and still popular BIG Family restaurant in town. We used to have many many functions at their 1st floor space and the food has always been excellent. Love the place.
I stay right opposite Golden Wheel. One word to describe this place - fabulous!
Whenever we have to go for a vegetarian dinner, we think of nothing else, but Golden Wheel. Not because it's nearby, but because of what it is.
I personally enjoy their chinese platter for starters. It's filling and yummmm. Especially their spring rolls are mouthwatering. Their veg crispy is lovely. You can also try their Methi Malai Mutter in the main course (It's kind of sweet; but, in spite of being a spicy food person I like it) with roti or naan. Rice - you can take any - they're all good.
To talk about the ambience - they've renovated it recently and it's become even better. The service is quite impressive.
Well, I don't know about the bar section though. But, it seems it's good enough.
If you're looking for a perfect vegetarian fine dine in South Mumbai, this place is one place for you. :)

Another famous watering hole in city and its a pure vegetarian joint. It has restaurant on ground and first floor though first floor is used as banquet mostly. The price of liquor here is reasonable and they serve many things with it. The staff Is most attentive. The food is also decent and I love the Indian Chinese here.
Have been to this restaurant quite a few times. It's a nice vegetarian restaurant and definitely one of the good restaurants in this area.
The Punjabi food out here is very satisfying. I ordered for the veg chop masala which is basically patty in red gravy along with butter kulcha. The vegetable is awesome and is a must have in the non Paneer main course. I've eaten the veg biryani here as well which is spicy and delectable. The manchow soup is good, like it is in most restaurants.
What I like the most about this restaurant is the unlimited side food that they serve along with the alcohol. You don't need to order starters as this itself is like a starter. This time they served us batata vadas.
The staff is quick to serve and pleasant

Excellent Food, Nice Ambience, Must try Authentic Punjabi Food, Kashmiri Naan, and their Rumali Papad. They serve alcohol too. It is a place to visit if you are in Girgaon or Charni Road.
The Punjabi food place to go to when u really wanna have a good meal the paneer Tikkas are awesome. The crispy spinach potato is to die for, the Achari paneer sabji is too good rotis are super crisp and buttered to perfection

This place is good if you have alcohol and you're a pure vegetarian. Basically this place is not made for me. But I find myself hang out here more often then I'd like basically coz the place is massive and can support a large group of friends and family. The service is quick and the waiters are polite. The food apart from alcohol is not bad either. They don't have a mocktail menu though. So if you're looking for a nice veg restaurant in that locality and don't mind alcohol being served then this should be a nice place.

Have always been a fan of Golden Wheel. One of the few good restaurants in Girgaon / Thakurdwar, that serves beer & other alcoholic drinks at affordable price. Best part is, they serve around 8-9 items as "chakna" / "biting" nearly 4-5 times with every alcoholic drink that you order [right from papads, salads, chutney, mayo, salted peanuts, chana chor garam etc..] They also serve some special "biting items", such as "grilled sweetcorn" or "dry manchurian" with the drinks..
Mild beer costs around 250 rs & strong costs around 300 rs & above. [650 ml].
Found the food and service quality @ Golden Wheel bit slow when I visited them last year in October 2014, but it seems they had a management change and could easily notice this during my recent visit in October 2015.
They serve only veg items, both chinese and punjabi and its always a pleasure to visit them. Ground floor is exclusively for people who come for just a drink with first floor being reserved / available mostly for families.
Food quality, service, pricing all upto the mark. Their 2 different chutneys which they serve with the drinks and the main course are literally to die for. It's taste has been the same since past 15+ years.
Will definitely visit them again.

It has been quite a regular joint for me to eat and drink at. Doesn't have much of variety but serves my vegetarian choices really well. The Punjabi food served here is really good and the Paneer (Cottage Cheese) is always soft and creamy. It has a well stocked bar too.
d place has been around for ever for ppl growing up in Girgaon.. but only recently have i strtd enjyng d food der.. its a all veg place dat serves liquor..suits perfectly;-)
again like bansuri/ flute(reviewed earlier) dis place too has its own set of 'quarter' regulars downing one before taking d train ride back to suburbs. like bansuri d food here is amazing..in d recent past hve been der nearly 5 times never being disappointed by d Punjabi food. had ordered a chinese soup once and it too was of high standard. no special dish as such but d paneer r soft and d veggies fresh.

One of the oldest and best fine dine Restaurants in Girgaon. Very good ambience and service. Easy to find- on the JSS road itself. Serves alcohol.
This restaurant is probably one of the oldest restaurants in the area. It used to serve non vegetarian food earlier but it did not get a good response as most of the locals who stay around the area are vegetarians. So recently they have gone through a huge make over and serve only vegetarian food. The decor and ambiance is good, quite minimalistic. We ordered for schezwan paneer tikka for starters and paneer tikka masala for main course along with rotis and fresh lime soda. The schezwan paneer tikka was quite alright. The schezwan sauce completely overpowered the tandoori masala. The paneer tikka masla was not at all spicy and was more on the tangier side. The only difference was that it had panner tikka pieces in them. The rates are pretty reasonable and the quantity is good. The service is alright. Overall not a bad experience. If you are in the locality, its worth a try.
A pure vegetarian restaurant along with alcohol is a very rare combination. The food is decent. Ambience is very good. Alcohol rates are pretty good. Food can be much better though. If you're a vegetarian and a drinker then this is a good place to be.

I'm sure those who have lived in south bombay especially Girgaum area and around will have visited this place atleast once in their childhood. I too have been here a couple times before and simply loved the food.
The ambiance is normal fine dining. Nothing great to talk about. This place is only for food.

Baby Pizzas: Yumm... Gone are those days when you would eat pizzas with tomato ketchup as base and our beloved amul cheese grated atop it. These are 3 smal pizzas made desi style and cut into halves. Loved it!
Schezwan Fingers: This has been my all time favorite and I rem the first time I had it I was 9 or 10. ! This freid and tossed in spicy schezwan sauce is a must try this and the quantity is good for 3. Must try
Paneer Kurchan: This is a spicy paneer vegetable and not for the weak hearted. Loved it ;-)
Dhabe ki subzi: the usual vegetables with brown gravy. Lacked flavour though.
Pudina Paratha: Average. Didn't really get any taste of pudina. Avoid
Butter kulcha: superb and very soft.

The service is quick, attentive and the staff knows the menu well. I'd go with their recommendations

I have grown up in this area and have frequented this restaurant since childhood. The staff if very friendly and quick on their feet. This place is a complete family restaurant for vegetarians and has a lot of variety on the menu. Must try items - chilli cheese toast, Chinese bhel, palak lasooni tadka and the soups. This place is usually packed in the evenings over the weekends.
Good food! But on Sundays the waiting becomes too tiring... the person who takes down names is a corrupt one... give him 100 bucks and he will let u in... the Paneer tikka masala is my personal favourite in the main course and the paneer chilly is also very good...

This is a pretty nice place with average interiors, well behaved staff, generously prepared tasty dishes but overpriced drinks and a few other items. If it is on your way, it is a place to stop by.

Golden wheel is located in the girgaon,it is 5 -7 mins walking distance from the charni road station.The taste is really good.Veg as well as Jain food is available.Also thalis are available.The service is really good.The staff was really welcoming.Ambience is really good.There is a party hall as well available ,where one can organize a party or ring ceremony or various other occasion.Its a family restaurant and good place to head to fr family get-together.

The ambience is fabulous. It was very quiet in the dining area. If you are tired of constant music, people whoooing in background and noise while eating, this is great get away. I ordered tomato soup, they served it with breadsticks, small buns and butter. It was lovely. In main course, I had Mutter paneer and kulcha. I was so lost in the silence around me that I almost forgot to take pictures.
