Went there for a casual lunch on a weekday and boy were we in for a surprise. While Mexican cuisine isn't exactly new in India, Xico does adds an interesting twist to the tale. Had the tortilla soup, tacos with pulled pork and quesadillas with shrimps and loved all of it. Had we not been stuffed, would have tried the churros with chocolate sauce for a sweet ending as well. But probably next time! Good ambience and service as well
Very passionate owners, chefs and staffs.... Xico serves great food & cocktails ,must visit restaurant.
Delicious food n best service!
Awesome Cocktails & food .. decor is superb , must visit.
Best Mexican Restaurant in Asia!!!
Yummy food, good service and nice interiors :D
Lovely decor, deliciously authentic Mexican cuisine, great drinks, warm hospitality and friendly servers!
Bombay has a dearth for authentic Mexican food and that void has been filled by Xico !
Where?
Xico @Kamala Mills
How's the ambience?
They have chosen to be authentic with vibrant colours splashing the place and Mexican tunes humming in the background
How's the price?
It's 4500 for two. It is expensive but portions are good along with complete authenticity.
What did you order?
Drinks :
Chia & Lime:
Knowing the wellness benefits of this drink, I found it as a great accompaniment with my meal.
Hortache:
It is a milk, water, rice based drink. I didn't like it so much
Food :
1. Xico'S famous guacamole
Prepared table side for two or more
Served with Warm tortilla chips and trio house made salsa
Rs 650
I absolutely LOVED it! It is so so fresh. While it's made, the smell enraptures you and tastes fabulous
There is everything Mexican about the menu from Flautas to bocadillos (appetisers in Mexican)
2. Tacos 🌮
Aguacate served 3 per order on corn tortillas with beer battered avocado 🥑 topped with black bean pico de gallo, cucumber 🥒 yoghurt and queso fresco
I don't know what more to say as again this was so authentic.
3. Quesadillas
Crispy griddles flour tortillas with a mixture of cheeses
Enfrijolada
Black beans, mixed vegetables, serrano salsa, charred green onions
The portion size is HUGE. Easily a maincourse for two people. Try the cheese one, it would be better
4. Burritos 🌯
Bean and cheese
Fried black beans, green rice, mix cheese, pico de gallo, cotijo
Again this is HUGE. I liked the black beans less. Would rather recommend for the other one.
Desserts:
1. We had the Mexican Chocolate Vegan cake with gaucamole on the side and topped with strawberry.
Absolutely had a blast. The chocolate was rich and delicious. Gaucamole just added that balance in flavours!
Anything else?
We saw a lot of scootsy parcels being sent. So if you don't wana get out of home, you could try that
Overall?
Loved it! Sometimes splurging is fine if they serve authentic good food.
An authentic Mexican restaurant in Bombay, what more can one want. Trust th servers to recommend some yum dishes. We have been there a few times and their tacos & ceviche are a must try. Guacamole is made fresh on the table and they have an option to make it spicy which absolutely delightful.
A newly-opened authentic Mexican restaurant at Kamala Mills. They're popular for their Special Guacamole, which is prepared fresh at your table. It's customised as per your requirement, and it's fun seeing all the ingredients being mixed in front of your eyes.
In terms of the dishes, they had a lot of the traditional Mexican fare, some of which we hadn't heard of before. We played it safe and had the usual Quesadillas, Tacos and Enchiladas. The food was quite nice, with the right amount of spice.
Good experience overall.
Amazing food, exceptional service. Definitely recommend for authentic Mexican food.
It is in Kamala Mills and has only and only authentic Mexican dishes. No backups if you are the only one who doesn't like Mexican in the group. The ambiance is very nice and so is the staff. It's on the expensive side.
Great place, friendly staff (to the point of distraction), excellent food. Service was propt and great. Quite expensive though. Food is prepared fresh on ordering. The tables are clean as is the bath room. This is an up market venue. Drinks about 700+ rupees a glass. Meal for 3 with a drink was over 6000 rupees.
It was a great experience. Thankfully the food is 'genuine' Mexican, great on the palette while being very light on the stomach. The lack of excessive oil and hot masala complimented with great taste is a different gastronomical sojourn and a must have for us to indulge in. The freshness of each dish is something you will know once you've been there and tried the cuisine. Needless to say the Guacamole is not to be missed.
The attentive service and cheerful staff make you never wanna leave, long after your meal is over.
Interesting menu! Delicious tacos and drinks. This was my first visit. Nice music, comfortable seating, good food, warm and welcoming staff. It was a perfect weekend dinner. If you want to try tasty Mexican food, this is the place for you.
Finally A Good Fine Dine Mexican Restaurant
This place had been on top of my list since it had opened, and it surely didn't disappoint. We had ordered the Guacamole & nachos, Sweet Potato Nachos and a drink each. Maybe because it was just the 2 of us, we felt that the quantity was just enough; we couldn't even reach till desserts. The food was really good and so were our drinks.
Finally , an authentic Mexican restaurant in Bombay. Quick and efficient service , a noisy Ambience all add to the vibrancy of the atmosphere. Guacamole made at the table adds to the atmosphere. Well presented food and many veggie options. The desserts are also Tastefully presented. The margarita pitcher however could do better if filled up as this appears to convey a message that the management of the restaurant is saving on the small stuff. Given that the Priceline of the restaurant is not cheap by any standards, they must show generosity in serving portions of drinks and food.
Best Mexican food
Mar 2 dinner: We have been wanting to visit this place for quite some time. Finally, made a plan. The interiors are quite mexican with colourful furniture. The ambience is fun like.
One should order the guacamole - they make it in front of your eyes - right from cutting the avocado to mixing it and serving it. Its an expensive item but worth it. served with different salsas and dips - one of them is really hot/spicy
Hongos quesadilla - stuffed with minced mushroom, this is another must try
Pollo quesadilla - this is one with chicken
Tacos are well made with soft tortillas
Churros and champurrado - crisp churros with dark and white choco sauce
Service: was good
The food is a delight to have though the prices are on the expensive side. The liquor, we felt was priced quite high and could be moderated. On these high prices, a 10% service tax hits you.
A really good place with excellent food but very expensive.
One of the best authentic mexican restaurants in mumbai finally ✔. Love the colours ⚪⚫🔴🔵used in the decor makes the place fun & vibrant . Staff is very well informed about all the dishes & very efficient too 👌. Started off with the guacamole with chips & salsa made live in front of you as per your tastebuds 😍😍 . Amazing taste but tad on the expensive side as per the portion size served . Then we had the queso fundido which was a blended cheezy fondue kinda different but tastes caught up after a while .. !! main course we had papas con rajas - authentic mexican compilation 👌. Enchiladas calabasa 🥘 was amazing . The gravy with rich & smooth . To end on a sweet note had the crispy churros with chocolate & caramel sauce which suprisingly tasted😍 . Overall lovely place with a nice vibe & good music 🎶🎵
The most authentic Mexican restaurant in Mumbai. The live-made guacamole and chips are as good as any you will have in the US/Canada outside of Mexico. Brilliant ambience, cocktails, tacos. a bit heavy on the wallet, but definitely worth a visit.
Delicious food. Great 🌮. Fun ambiance.
Few of the most exciting things about Mexicans is, their Food and Music. However Mexican food is far more varied then what people think. It is colourful, delightful, and pleasing to both, the eyes as well as the taste buds.
Well, talking about these colourful cuisines, very few outlets in Mumbai bring about the authenticity of a particular cuisine and Xico- The Hottest Mexican Kitchen being one of them does live upto the Mexican authenticity.
A casual dining restro-bar and Meso-Americans style of cooking Spanish dish, this hottest kitchen offers fun, with their multicolored and Vibrant ambiance.
Located on the ground tier of Oasis City in Lower Parel, The Kitchen brings about its vibe in every way, right from the ambiance to the decor of the bar and to a very well curated menu. Kudos to the Head Chef Jason and the wonderful staff here.
The very first thing to our service by our server’s insistence was the, Guacamole.
A table side presentation dish, consisting of dip made from finely crushed Avocado further mixed with chopped onions, tomatoes chillies and different sauces served along with crispy nachos . A highly recommended dish at the Kitchen.
Next on to the list was the Carbon, accompanied by tortillas with grilled chicken, topped with fresh tomatoes, salsa, further mixed with cheese and pico-de-gallo. The unique trait of these tortillas were their soft texture instead of the crunchy ones that we usually devour.
Pollo Burrito Bowl took the place of the main course. The kitchen serves burritos both constructed as well as non constructed (in a bowl). Bowl charged with re-fried black beans, green rice, mix cheese, al-carbon marinated pollo along with salsa fresca and pico-de-gallo, making it altogether a luscious dish. Highly recommended.
For the desserts we had the Pastel Tres Leches. Vanilla sponge soaked in three different milk flavors finished with strawberry compote, whipped cream and roasted almonds garnished with mint leaves, a true delight.
I must say we had a pretty amazing experience here considering the quick and commendable service we had here by the lovely staff who not only helped us with the menu but also made sure we had some good traditional infamous Mexican dishes. I would definitely recommend this place for all those who want to savor some exclusive Mexican cuisine!
Great Mexican restaurant. Authentic Mexican food. Their fresh Guacamole that they make live is to die for. The Chocolate cake and Sponge Cake were both very yummy. Great ambience and great food.
