JP lunch home is by far the best sea food restaurant for authentic Malwani food. This hidden gem is located in Goregaon and serves the most delicious fish fry and fish curry. We tried their bombil fry which was bomb. The outer layer was crispy and flavourful and the fish was soft and perfectly cooked. We also tried their mouthwatering Pomfret thaali which comes with tava fry pomfret, chapati, solkadhi and coconut fish curry!

This place is just heaven for "Fish Lover" . also they are well know and top sea food restaurants In Mumbai. They have big name in this domain and still do not compromise in terms of quality and quantity. tasty fish food. I can rate this place 10 out of 5. 1st this is very commonly mistaken with jay prakash restaurant which is on the way to JP's lunch home.
So both are different.
Its located 3 4 mins walk from goregoan station.
They are famous for sea food. Different types of fishes are served.
Limited seating.
Thalis are available.
We ordered pomfret fish thali, chicken masala thali, mutton kalegi thali, kurlya masala thali.
The taste was good. The service was prompt too.
Finding best place for the seafood. This is place jps lunch home. The fish with curry was awesome and the 🦀 crab. This is like malvani style. Nice place and ambience. must visit this place.
The food here is really good, you get the authentic malwani feel. We ordered the rawas tava fry, it was so tasty and filling, it was 1 big rawas filled with a lot of masala.
As the main course we ordered prawn sukha and neer dosa. That is one of the best combinations to be tried out.
And as dessert we had the gadbad ice-cream. It was filled with layers of strawberry ice cream, kesar pista ice-cream, fruits and jellies.
The gadbad ice-cream is way too filling so I'd suggest that 2 people share 1 ice-cream.

Lastly, i would say this place is amazing and known for its seafood maharashtrian cuisine. A must visit whenever you are craving for sea food.

JP's lunch home is a restaurant serving authentic Malvani & Mangalorean fare which is located bang opposite Goregaon (E) station and should be relatively easy to find. They usually have a long wait time of 20-30 mins so my suggestion would be to head here early and avoid the rush.
The interiors are nothing fancy and just like every other lunch home. The place is clean and staff are prompt with their orders and service.
Started off with the Bombil fry (Bombay duck) which was perfectly flaky and crispy. The taste was decent but could have been better.
Next came the Pomfret Tawa fry. The size was apt for the price and the flavours were terrific. The tawa had given the skin of the fish a nice crispy layer. The masalas were not overpowering and amalgamated perfectly with the tender fish. A must try.
Surmai thali was served with a decently sized surmai fish fry, fish curry, dry prawns (jawla), sol kadi and some green chutney. The thali is worth the price but for me the fish curry could have been better.
Prawns Pulimunchi had a good portion of prawns and matched perfectly with the soft neer dosa. This is a mangalorean dish and was made that way. The taste was sour which some may not like so if you don't like sour tasting food, I suggest skip this dish.
Last was the Mutton Sukke and I regreted not ordering this first. The best dish for me after the pomfret. Mutton was extremely tender and the gravy full of flavours. Not spicy, not sour but just perfect. Again a must try dish.
At the end of the meal, they gave us a sweet dish which they could sell. Yes it was that good.
Overall, a good experience and worth your money. All of this for ₹1800 is definitely worth it.

It's only 2 minute walking distance from Goregaon East station. When we entered the restaurant we did not get a good place to sit initially as seating are less but we got other seats immediately once they were vacant so staff and service is flexible and courteous. Coming to food we had ordered 2 veg thalis and one pomfret fry(large). God was it amazing. The fish was so fresh and balanced in taste it almost melted in my mouth. The thali was also equally good with the best solkadi I've ever had. All the pictures are attached in my review judge for yourself. People who like balanced food taste which satisfies not only taste buds but also mind should try food here. It's worth your time.

Primarily a Malvani thali place. Lots of varieties for non vegetarians...lots of sea food options in thali. I tried a egg masala thali and a friend decided to eat a chicken thali. Items in his plate were of course more.
Egg masala thali had a big portion of egg curry, 3 chapatis, chatni and a half plate of rice. Sol curry was very good. Chapattis can be replaced with choice of vade, bhakri, appam, Puri at an extra cost.
Overall very good food.

Solkari is awesome. Budget friendly hotel . I will visit again with my family. But menu card which shown on Zomato is not the same when we actually take card from hotel. Price is 20% higher than Zomato menu card. I am requesting Zomato pls show the same menu card which they prefer.
Very tasty and delicious malvani food, they have bunch of variety, i had surmai thali , chicken koliwada, kombdi vadi abd chicken masala in 850 rs only..hotel is quiet big yet waiting is normal there. Family,friends,group,couples are welcome.

JP Lunch Home is a fairly small & clean place providing an extensive range of Malvani food.
We tried their crisp Bombil fries, Pomfret tawa fry, rotis, rice, solkadi, chutney & onions. Enough quantity for 1 person to be completely satiated. Truly Good Food at Great Value for Money.
We first time ordered food from here. We selected pomphret fry thali. All the dishes were v good and reasonable pricing. I will order other preparations soon.

We had ordered prawns koliwada n surmai curry fish thali n surmai fry thali... Thali consist of lil bit of dry prawns masala,three chappati fish curry or fish fish fry with curry n rice. The fish size was good ( there is a different rate for fish as per size). Prawns koliwada also was good size. Rice bhakri which was ordered extra was soft. More over the fish items were fresh n well cooked. The ambiance is not wow... but peaceful. Staffs are polite..

We ordered the Bombil and Prawns fry along with the Surmai fry thali.
The Bombil fry just okay, was too oily though.
Prawns fry was decent as the rawa coating was quite thick.
The thali was amazing; a large piece of fresh Surmai fry with some traditional gravy, rice and Sol Kadi.
This is a place for sea food lovers and you will mostly find families having meals.
There could be around 15 mins waiting time as the place is always busy and has limited seating.
Something to look out for is the stuffed Pomfret. We didn't order this but would definitely order next time.
It has minced prawns inside the Pomfret, covered in rawa and deep fried.
Wonderful place, had a buffet system at a pocket friendly price. They serve good starters but do not give variety thou. Main course had good number of dishes thou it wasn't refilled quickly and had to wait for them to refill but it was delicious. Not that good with the sweets the red velvet cake dint taste that good but Jallebi ND gulab Jamun is the best in Gogegaon. The ambiance is awesome even in such a crowded time they made Space for our group which was a wonderful gesture and made us feel welcomed. Overall it's a delicious delight.

I'm usually not inclined towards seafood but this place changed it for me. I went with my family one Saturday afternoon to gorge in some seafood, started with fried bombay duck (crispy hot fish served with their special green chutney) what a treat. It raised my expectations for the main course. We decided to order sukkha prawns and pomfret thalis and man the masalas and gravies were spicy and tangy, just perfect! . The fishes were fresh and their special masalas made it a complete package. Could witness all smiles on my granny's and mom's faces. Definitely visiting this place again. They should maintain this food quality in the furture. Kudos!

1. Ambience: 3.5/5: Its air conditioned and the place looks cool cause of multi colored walls. Good lighting as well. Parking can be difficult to find anytime during the day.Washroom is available in the restaurant.

Let me start by saying it was a Sunday well spent at jp lunch home.. the food it so good and so fresh.. always.. the service is so quick .. we ordered prawns koliwada( highly recommend) clams, rawa bombil(yumm),mutton, wade and surmai thails between the two of us.. yes we realized it soon that it was way more than we could finish but we did and craved for more later in the day.. flavour are so authentic it reminded me of my friends mom 😍.. surmai was slightly slightly over but am just being picky.. all and all it's a must for people who love seafood or even good food for that matter.. ♥️

This place is a must visit for fish lovers. I loved each and every dish we ordered. From bombil to prawns fry to paplet thali every dish did just to its taste, quantity and presentation. I am definitely visiting again for a Sunday brunch
Been to this place with a colleague as we were both craving fish, have to say the experience was mind blowing. We had to share tables with others but 1 look at the food and we forgot everything. we had the surmai thali with chapati and prawn thali with bhakri. The fishes were fresh and it the gravy was mind blowing.i personally liked the tangy taste of the prawn curry more...staff was also helpful...will visit again for sure.
We ordered takeaway...we were quite far from their delivery distance...so the first criteria for them was if we ordered upto 800rs. then only they would deliver...the food packaging was excellent and the food was tasty as well...and they offered us complimentary dessert as well...however, they somehow sent us two chicken dishes rather than a paneer dish ordered...which disheartened our guests who chose veg option and were left with no starter option but had to go straight into main course.

Prawns deep fried in rawa batter. Juicy inside crispy outside. Absolutely delightful.

Perfect preparation, was neither too spicy nor too bland.

Best ever sumai fry. A lot of times rawa fry fishes lack flavour on their coating... But not this one. Must must order. The curry along with this is tomato based. Their green chutney is also awesome.

They say they donot cook frozen fish and use fresh fish only. The service was quick and the prices were reasonable. What else does one want? generally Malavni cuisine have their seperate masala in kitchen which they use to fry all fishes so almost all of them taste the same but, here every fried fish was coated with different spices and taste was also different. Sol Kadi was beautifully done with correct mix of ingredients and coconut milk.
