Location:
This place is located in Goregaon West off sv road

Ambience:
No frills place, seating available for around 20-25 people

Taste:
We tried the misal pav, vada pav, sabudana vada. We loved all of it. Though there are places which serve better vadapav, but the misal and sabudana vada and it's chutney is surely not a miss.

Price:
A slightly overpriced but worth all the money

One of the oldest and famous joints in Goregaon area. It's a place located near the old east-west subway of Goregaon. Famous for its Maharashtrian Breakfast cruise. It also has a sweet shop attached to it. There is generally rush of office crowd and college crowd. I have being visiting this place since childhood. I have tried literally everything like Bata vada, kothimbari vade, bread pakoda, misal pav. They also serve upas items. There kokam juice is also good.

First of all if you want to enjoy Marathmoli (Maharashtrian Style) Kanda bhaji (pakoras) wherever you are when it is raining, Sapre and Sons, thanks to Zomato will fulfill your hunger. That's exactly what we did, in the hunt of Kanda Bhaji, ordered it from Sapre to our office. The delivery was fast and the bhajis were warm and crispy. Loved it.

Went the next day to this small outlet with my mother (ofcourse we have been here a lot of times since S&S is one of the oldest Marathi food speciality joint) but yesterday's visit was the recent one. We had Misal Paav and Farali Misal (fasting dish). Everything was great except for the kismis in the misal which I don't like personally. Do try their green chutney.. it's very famous.

Old is Gold and this place does justifies the saying.
I just love this place and being a maharashtrian this place is always on top of my list for breakfast.

It has amazing and limited spread of breakfast menu.

Misal Pav, Thaliphet, Piyush, Kothimbir vadi and these some of the must try.

Let's start with thali phet it's one of the healthiest breakfast which made out of multi-grain with some addition of onion, spices, coriander. It's crispy and light and served with there famous chutney.

Piyush - A far better version of lassi. Perfectly sweet, cools down your body in this summer.

Kothimbir vadi - Flavorful and crispy best served with there lasun chutney. It's deep fried to perfection.

Misal Pav - It's good, non spicy and filling.

This place never disappoints. The food quality is up to their mark. Service is good.

What to expect just good maharashtrian food not fancy.

Love this place.

Sapre is one of the oldest restaurant in Goregaon which servers the best Maharashtrian snacks,

Don't judge this place by its ambiance, the food served here is very tasty.

Well I tried Kothimbir Vadi which was severd along with red chutney as well as a chutney which was made up of yogurt and I loved it's taste. One of the best chutney's I have tried for something like Kothimbir Vadi.

Secondly I tasted Dahi Vada it was up to the mark. The vada's been Dipped into to Yoghurt. Tasted good.

People with sweet tooth should go for Piyush it's a sweet Drink kinda Shrikand Flavoured.

Recommendations: If you thinking to Visit this place do try Misal Pav.

Its located at the array road in Goregaon west few minutes walk from the Goregaon station. Its a small place cant really consider it as a restaurant but it has benches to seat and the they serve all the best Maharashtrian fast food. The food is little bit costly when the prices are compared with the availablity of that food on streets. The vada pav, misal pav , kanda bhaji and rest of it taste excellent no doubt, totally worth it to pay few extra bucks. They also serve a unique chatni which is made up of yogurt and thats the best chatni i have ever had. one should Definitely visit this place. Outside the restaurant they also have a local street dabeli valla that dabeli is also a must try.

We ordered Kanda Poha, Thalipeet and Panha from here.

The Kanda Poha were well made and tasted well.

Thalipeet had a proper measure of spices; however traditional Maharashtrian dish also has onions (and some households put coriander too) in it. That was missing.

The Panha had good amount of pulp which is really nice. However it had too much of sugar. It felt like drinking sugar syrup after a while.

On the whole we will order again; however they could fix this.

Sapre & Sons is one of the oldest places located near Goregaon station. For years, this place has been known for it's authentic maharashtrian snacks. The menu is limited and consists of maharashtrian delicacies like kothimbir vadi, misal pav, vada pav, etc.

We tried the misal pav and sabudana vada. They serve this peculiar green chutney with curd, which is worth a try!

The overall ambience is very basic and has remained unchanged through the years.

If you have a sweet tooth, do try their puranpoli (a traditional maharashtrian sweet)... Extremely filling, fresh, and tastes even better when warmed and topped with ghee! 😍

The legacy and popularity of this place is so much that am the third generation from our family who is fan of their delicious Maharashtrian snacks. Well known for most of their items on menu specially Misal pav, batata vada, sabudana puri, Piyush and many other.

Misal is prepared in Puneri Style as it tastes not so spicy but has hint of garam masala and bit of sweetness which you notice after a bite. Every item on menu is served with their special coriander & curd based chutney which has never changed and tastes always same.

This place is considered a landmark in Goregaon and has managed to keep the authenticity of Maharashtrian delicacy live for so many years.

Craving for some authentic maharastrian food, then don't worry because you have come to the right place. Spare and sons has been one of the oldest places which serve delicious maharastrian dishes. It is located at a 5 minute distance from Patkar college and 2 minute walk from goregaon station.
We initially went to Amba Mata Temple and later were starving,do decided to stop for a bite or so. No other option came to our mind except this place.
The place is of average size with seating arrangement inside as well as outside for people. Staff is very much friendly and ambience is kind of a typical Marathi place.
We ordered quite a number of dishes including THALIPITH,SABUDANA VADA,DAHI MISAL,BATATA VADA USAL,FARALI MISAL AND CUTLETS. I did not stop here cause to end breakfast I had a PIYUSH. It felt just like heaven.
Now a days, it is difficult to find places which serve amazing Maharastrian food. So I would definitely recommend this place to all foodies out there. It will be a good experience for all and will just make your day.

Sapre & Sons started by Shri Mahadev Sapre will be 50 years old in the next 2 years; it was established in 1970. But before he ventured into the restaurant business, Shri Sapre made & sold "Shrikand Wadi" which is supposedly his creation. It's a confectionery which was very famous in my school going days but rarely to be seen these days.

They have a list of 150+ plus items, out of which they have a combination of dishes are available as per season. Their focus is on regional savouries & sweets & stay away from serving popular items like Idli, Medhu Wada & Dosa.

They serve a specialty which is rare to be found, chutney mixed with Dahi. It's a regular coconut & mint chutney but gets a different tangent when mixed with Dahi.

I have tried their BATATA WADA [INR 40], the stiffing is soft & mushy and with a nice combination of ginger & garlic. The Wada was nice & crispy. Then I tried the MISAL [INR 70], the gravy was mild and poured over mix lentils & garnished with farsan and finely chopped onions.

I ordered for a MASALA BHATH which was nicely prepared & flavoured. It was served garnished with fresh coconut shavings. As a side dish to it, I asked for ALU WADI [INR 45], they pieces were fried crisp to the point of being over fried. The taste though was very nice and it was served with a dry red garlic chutney & the Dahi chutney.

The place is clean & hygienic. The service is fast & efficient. The prices are pocket friendly.

If you are looking to have Maharashtrian snacks in and around Goregaon West then without a doubt you should head to Sapre & Sons which at a 5-7 minutes walk from the station.

Street Food, should be lip smacking good and pocket friendly, Sapre is, along with being "HYGENIC". For years people flocking to Amba Mata Mandir on Aarey Road near station make it a point to do PetPooja at this unassuming eatery, Goregaonkar's have relish this place with pride. If you are in Goregaon do visit.

Ambience : As mentioned the place is unassuming, with six tables which are shared. Unlike new age hangouts, this place focus on one Basic important thing FOOD. The shop is clean.

Service : With flair of age old eateries , the staff a unique human nature. Since most items including the customers are "fast moving" the service is quick, if it takes 5 minutes or more for your food to arrive at your table, be sure the staff has a bad day.

Menu : Till some years, they had fix menu (no Tea) not more than 20 items categories. They did lot a innovation few years back and added some requisites like tea, Puri Bhaji, Poli Bhaji and French Fries. And menu grew by 5 more things.  Oh! and in case your order is late, do enjoy the beautiful Marathi / English Translation of Food on Menu. French Fries = Batatachya Surnalya

Food : Being a typical Maharashtrian Outlet the food is frugal as the culture, not to spicy. But the  Food is good. Try Misal Pav which actually has a unique sweet flavour. They have a "plethora" (6-7 dishes) of "Sanskari" you can hog on fasting day like Farali Misal again a unique dish.

Kothambir Wadi (made of coriander), Kanda Bhaji are crisp and lip smacking. Special Mention for Dahi Chutney which is generally complimentary with many items

Drinks include Piyush, a concoction of Shrikand and Milk (Maharashtra answer to Lassi) , too sweet but half of it would fill your stomach. Kokam Sharbat , Lemon - Ginger both good appetisers, coffee.

Cost : Two dishes and one drink 100 - 150 Rs. (one person)

Overall Experience : Mastch!

It's a Maharashtrian Food place which is untouched by the modernization and is still a quaint, old place with rustic ambiance. I'm a regular here ever since the days when I used to study at Patkar college, a favourite for most local families and students since forever.

Ambiance and Service (4/5) : Don't expect anything fancy here. It's a basic restaurant, with around 5-6 tables and a few more laid outside for rush hours. The waiters are quick to serve the dishes and accomodating with your requests for customizations.

Food (5/5) : Whether you're fasting or not, this place serves awesome food. The following are few of the must try dishes :

Vada : Filled with potato, this is not your regular Mumbai Vada. 2 Vadas are served with dahi and green chutney, slightly sweetish and a red garlic chutney. The Vadas are huge and filling.

Kothimbir Vadi : It's a coriander and besan preparation, resembling a cutlet, served again with the same chutneys

Alu Vadi : It's a colocassia leaves and besan preparation, steamed and fried and served with the same chutneys

Piyush : A yum sweet drink, similar to shrikhand

Aam Pana : Try this during the summers, very refreshing drink made from raw mango.

Misal Pav : Almost the staple food for a quick bite in Maharashtra, it is served with two pavs and chutneys and dahi. Very authentic and true to Maharashtrian taste

Farali Pattice : For the people fasting, this is different dish apart from the usual Sabudana Khichdi and Vada. Do try!

Value for Money (5/5) : Very light on the pocket and fills your stomach too!

Sapre and Sons, Goregaon is one of the most famous Maharashtrian food joints in Mumbai.💫
Heard a lot about it so we decided to give it a try.
Good food and very fast service.💙

⚫Food:

▪️Kothimbir wadi:
Small kothimbir wadis served with spicy and coconut chutney.
One of the best kothimbir wadis we've ever had.

▪️Missal:
We heard a lot about missal at this place so we had very high expectations.
But it was a little disappointing as it wasn't spicy enough.
If you like less spicy missal then this would be perfect for you.❣️

A little disappointing. Lacked the kick of spices. Not bad though. If you like your missal minus the spice, this might be for you.

DRINK:

Sol Kadhi:
Sweet and tangy. Somewhat different from what we're used to. Tasted just fine.

Best thing to have:
Kothimbir wadi.
Batate wade.
Small place to munch in with homely taste. Price is okay. Taste wise it's best. After placing order they serve you in hardly 15 minutes.

Sapre has been around for more than 30 years as far as I know. Simply put, it's the best Maharashtrian food joint in Goregaon (West).

Small and cozy place with limited number of tables gives the old school vibe to this place.

You can order anything on the menu and trust me you will definitely fall in love with the taste. Be it misal pav, pohe, kothimbir vadi, batata vada, piyush and the rest. They serve a dahi chutney which is quite superb to taste. Also, a very VFM joint, so you'll never ever burn a hole in your wallet whenever you visit Sapre.

Lovely place for nashta and Jevan. Dahi misal, kopra pattice, thalipeeth, simple puran poli with milk, kothimbir wadi, all are great! The accompaniments are different. And they are all fresh and entail a combination of sweet, sour and heat, depending on the dish they're accompanying. Must visit place in Mumbai.

I had the opportunity to savor some outstanding misal in Mumbai, and I assure you that visiting there will be a decision you won't regret. Additionally, their batata vada and sabudana dishes were equally delightful.

Without any second thoughts, I am giving this place 5 stars because it has always been close to my blood, heart and soul. They serve Maharashtrian delicacies and they are too good to resist. Very close to Goregaon station near market area where one can easily find on Google map. Ambience is not very fancy but when it comes to hygiene they have well maintained and ace over anything. Reasonable rate and Good healthy food.

A perfect joint to enjoy the typical Maharashtrian food. Delicious and mouth watering. My personal favorites are Batata wada and Dahi misal. You should also try their Kanda bhaji, kothimbir wadi. The chatni served with them is very tasty.

Situated at the address Jaykar Smruti, Shop Number 6 ,7, Ground Floor, Aarey Rd, Goregaon West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400104. Amazing maharashtrian delicacies are served in this restaurant . The place isn't fancy but u wouldn't regret eating out here. You should try their Thali Pith, Misal, Bata Vada, Aluvadi , kothimbir vadi, Sabudana vada and Piyush to name few items. The menu is concise, no-frills, and a 100% freshly cooked items served. Everything we ate was delicious and was reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again for amazing mouthwatering food.
