Food quality is good, at peak hours you need wait a little time and also share tables with strangers. Idli and vada were tasty. Chutney served was also good. Good for quick bite. Rice food items on menu were also looking mouthwatering. Can visit if you want quick lunch or snacks. Just outside of Dadar station

Order paneer tikka masal . Taste was okay but dont dont know health part of it. Roti was good. Lassi buttermilk are good.
Shekhar Ulli (Shekhar)
Located just outside of Dadar Station west
Mostly crowded with shopaholics (people who come for shopping visit this place to meet their hunger)
Ordered Mysore masala dosa - chatni was pathetic and sambhar was ok
Very poor service... You need to tell them 2-3 times for your order if it is crowded coz they get confused.

Tried sabudana vada and puneri misal. Sabudana vada and chutney was very tasty but expensive at 85/- puneri misal is sufficient for a single person to eat if you add another dish along with it.

Being a maharashtrian I know my food very well. Panshikar is definitely good for someone who doesn't know our cuisine well. There were minor problems with every dish I tried.
Dimple Zaveri
Keeping the place simple; Panshikar is a palce which offers delicious Maharashtrian food at pocket friendly prices. The place is always crowded with people, seating wise and in food parcel wise both.

Panshikar: A maharashtrian style restaurant serving lip smacking dishes

Food ordered: 1) Kotambir vadi 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Absolutely recommended here and the dahi chutney served here is the best I had after a real long time.Must try here

2) Masala doodh: Again a very tasty milk with dry fruits🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Worth: This. Place is absolutely worth it

Overall: Must try for maharastra style dishes

Panshikar & Co,this restaurant is located near Dadar station. They serve Maharashtrian dishes and sweets. They also serve foods for fast. The food is great must try Misal Pav and Piyush. Piyush will definitely fill your tummy and it is quite thick. The staff is friendly and service was quick. Overall had a good experience. But the rates are too high.

My craving for Kharvas came to end after I ordered Kharvas for myself from this place.

Absolutely loved it.
TheMissingDelicacy
Hands down the best one in my area for sweets. When it comes to Panshikar, its been the top for everything, be it Panna or Kandi Pedha. The long waiting time is only problem here. Else a good one. For so many years it been ruling the other sweet shops in the area.
Sanket Nevagi
Had a very horrible experience for sending my Diwali Faral to Europe, Diwali is almost over and my box is not yet reached the destination, when I call Panshikar since I had booked through them at a bomb rate, they tell me plz call courier services, without taking any responsibility of the delivery. I regret sending stuff through Panshikar abroad, even if the food is good but service is way below pathetic and they have no empathy in talking to clients as if they gave me my parcel free of cost. Humble request to all not to send any parcels through them as they never reach on time to the recipient.very very sad service and worst attitude ever. If they are doing good, good for them but not at the cost of someone's money and sentiments. #timesfoodaward @rashmiudaysingh

Located at Dadar west, it is near to station. It is a small place with a few tables. Yet this is a very famous joint and frequently visited by even Marathi TV and film celebrities.

It is famous for Marathi food dishes like as missal, puri bhaji, thalipeet kothimbir vadi batana vada. Their fast (upwas) food such as upwas misal, upwas thalipeet, sabudana wada and sabuwada khichadi are amazing.

Their Piyush is mind blowing. My cousins from USA visit this place whenever they are in Mumbai.

They serve gulab jams, shrikhand and amarkhand which are super delicious. One can take away parcels for family and friends. The puran poli is soft and tasty I always parcel them for my grand mother. This place is must visit if you are nearby Dadar station.

This restaurant is very old and famous for typical Maharashtrian cuisine.
Located near Dadar east station this place doesn't offers elaborate seating. Yet this is a very famous joint and frequently visited by even celebrities.
You can eat from all traditional cuisines such as misal, puri bhaji, thalipit etc. They also serve fasting food such as upwas misal, upwas thalipit, sabudana wade.
They also serve Piyush which is must try.
If you are sweet lover then they have ample of varieties such as pedhe, different types of ladu, kharwas etc.
You can take away and enjoy delicious meal at home or wherever you want.
Service is really quick and you need not to wait for long time.
Even though this place is not attractive ambiance wise, not having posh interiors but yet they have maintained proper hygiene. Marathi people have so many elements of pride, especially true *Mumbaikars*. Before anything, you could ask any random Mumbai’city’ resident about favorite hotel and if you don’t get the name of’Panshikars’ then it is a surprise.
Panshikar are the best sweet makers in all over Mumbai, famous for their exceptionally thick’Shrikhand’ and sourly sweety Piyush. They provide entire’Faraal’ of diwali(sweets and snacks) and even export them to your near and dear ones as well living abroad.
Panshikar is perfectly good 😊😊😊🤗

Located at next to Dadar railway station, popular for its Maharashtrian breakfast ( which you may eat any time all day along) & Sweats. Farali misal & Puneri misal was best ... don’t add dahi ( yoghurt) in your misal or else you may miss that spicy punch because they make it very mild..
Quick service
Hygienic place
Good experience

This place serves authentic maharashtrian fasting dishes, I had upwas misal - had boiled groundnuts, khichadi, patato chivda and gravy made of groundnut which really tasty and sabudana wada was huge but still cooked from the inside and they had given a mixture of curd, chutney and sugar which tasted really good with sabudana wada

Had bought anjeer barfee previously for my sister and decided to buy some again for home.

However this time it was not fresh and had a sour taste to it. So disappointed. Panshikar has such a good reputation. The management should make ensure they only sell fresh products.

Panshikar is located just 2 minutes away from Dadar station on the Western side. It's one of those legendary outlets serving delicious Maharashtrian fare as well as having a storefront for selling sweets and savouries.

We had Piyush here which was gulped down within 10 seconds.

These folks are also famous for their Shrikhand and Amrakhand which we took home. Will try out other items on the menu whenever I get a chance.

We ordered for a sabudana wada and a puri bhaji.

Sabudana wada- arrived within seconds where it takes minutues to fry this particular dish. The entire wada was raw inside then we returned and got same. Second was also the same. Then he gave us some upvas puri ( rajgira puri) and white potata sabji. Which was good but heavy.

Puri bhaji - it was good but bhaji was cold.

Once i tried their farali misal which was amazing.
Hey Foodies,

This place opposite Dadar rly stn is best for Mahrastrian cuisine and sweets. Actually, I love all the products out here. Here’s it!

What I ordered :
Misal Pav : 4.5/5
It was yummy and tasty with a nice blend of spices and was fresh and served hot. Best Misal Pav in town. A perfect place to go if your taste buds are craving for Maharashtrian delights. Right from the chutney to the glass of Piyush, everything is 10/10.

Panshikar, right next to dadar station serves a variety of Maharashtrian food items. Been to this place several times but one thing that remains constant when I order is their Kharvas. It is really amazing. Also my friend suggested me to try piyush, a coolant drink for summer which was okayish.

Maharshtrian breakfast cuisine is not very common in foodies. Mainly because of its not very buttery and limited fats. In fact bread is also very limited. So only the places like Panshikar & co. has a special appreciation that they are continuing with the service.
As most of the Maharastrian outlets, this is also a simple place with simple menu, simple interior and simple service.
Its located just out side of Dadar station. Mainly surrounded by very crowded local roadside market. Although not difficult to locate.
Food was served quickly. And it was very fresh and hot. The Maharastrian breakfast can’t be complete without Misal. Here in Panshikar they serve Pooneri Misal. A milder version of Misal. Tasty no doubt. Less spicy. Originally misal means mixture and it was a composite mixture of all necessary ingredients. If you are expecting typical “jhanjhanit” (very spicy) misal then this is surely not a place.
Thalipit is another little less famous maharastrian dish which is been served by Panshikar. And not many places are good at serving this dish. It is a mixture of few different grain flours shallow fried.
Thalipit is a dish must be served hot and eaten hot with unprocessed milk butter (loni). At Panshikar the thalipit was very authentic, hot, nicely made and tasty. Although it was without butter but the coconut based sweet chutney was a boost of fats.
Overall a good service.
The food quantity is very good. And surely a value for money. Surely a place to visit again and again for different dishes.
Venkat
nice place for maharastrain cuisine. piuribhaji was perfect. however puran poli & taak wasn't up to expectations. puran poli should be served hot with ghee & taak should be spiced

Visit this place to satiate your hunger for Maharashtrian cuisine. This place has been there for may years and is more popular for their sweets section that the restaurant section. However, both are good and worth going for.

We have tried the Sabudana Khichdi, Kothimbir Vadi, Batata Vada and the Puneri Missal.
The Sabudana Khichdi was made to perfection and again not too oily. The Puneri Missal was a bit on the spicier side but again nicely made.
If you want to try authentic Maharashtrian cuisine, this place is a must for you.
Their Kothimbir vadi has been my all time favourite with crisp, served with yogurt based chutni & the quality and quantity has been consistent. The chutni they serve is made with curd. They served a drink named Piyush which is also a must try.

Best Taste Of Maharashtrian Snacks Can Be Experienced Here.
Quality And Quantity Is Undoubtedly Good.
Staff Is Polite.
Piyush Drink Is A Must Try Here.

All time favourite upahargruha.. yes it is typical upahargruha with lots of varieties of food.. specially upavas dishes.. if u r visiting it for first time then u shud try dahi farali misal, kothimbir vadi, sabudana khichada, upavas thalipith and most importantly piyush.

A good place to have Marathi staple food items Farali missal and piyush are the must have here.. thought the puneri missal was okey in taste.. give a burp with tangy spicy ginger lemon sherbet

Panshikar is bang opposite Dadar station on the western side. This is a restaurant that serves Maharashtrian cusine and also has a counter for sweets. The menu has got quite a big list of items. So choosing what to eat was a challenge. I finally settled for Puneri Missal. The service was quick but the dish was not as good as I expected from a Maharashtrian speciality restaurants. It was not bad either, just that my expectation was of getting a 'zanzaneet' (spicy) missal, which is what this dish is famous for. However, the quantity was good and the pav was soft and fluffy. It was time to choose between tea and coffee. There was piyush (a blend of shrikhand and lassi) and masala milk in the menu as well. I ordered for coffee with seperate sugar. To my surprise, the waiter, instead of bringing the sugar in a bowl, brought the entire sugar container. Looking at his face, I could make out that I had just one attempt to get my judgement of adding sugar right. The moment I added it, the container was promptly taken back to the kitchen. Alas, I failed in my attempt but didn't dare to ask for more sugar. I consoled myself, saying that less sugar is good for health....indeed it is. Like I could see in some other reviews too, the serving staff seems like they are doing us a favor by serving us.
Overall, I won't regret the experience but may not really go back to have a missal. May try something else which I guess may justify its position as a Maharashtrian speciality restaurant. Of my 3.5 rating, I will give 3 for the dish and an extra .5 for quantity and value for money.
Sarangaa Amin
If u r up for a typical Maharashtrian cuisine..this place is good...though service could be much much improved..otherwise food is good..
Location is in the midst of the busy market and station area..so always quite busy but u can try for a quick bite..

One of the known hotel in dadar popular for Maharashtrian stuff from sweet to savoury.
Primarily it's famous for typical Maharashtrian sweets.
Me and one of my Colleague had Puneri Misal Pav and Piyush, taste was good but one dish tandalachi bhaji(rice pakoda) was not good at all.
Panshikar.... Maharashtrian name and offer marathi food.

Next to Dadar railway station west. Serves snacks and fast food.

Small restaurant and limited seats. You could have to wait outside to get seated at peak hours.

I'd ordered Farali misal as it's famous here. It was tasty and almost as good as home cooked.

I'll recommend it. Try it once.

If you are craving for Maharastrian dishes this is the place and its conveniently located just outside Dadar station.
The food quality is too amazing.
Service is quick too.
We had sabudana wada and kothimbir wadi, it was too tasty and didn't even seem all the oily.
Kokam sarbat is one of the must try in drinks.
P.S- The green chutney they serve ❤....
.
.
....

........

Located exactly outside Dadar station on the West side, this is a small outlet serving Maharashtrian delicacies.
We had the Wada Usal that consisted of two potato wadas in a gravy of peas. Loved the Wada by itself, and the dish in toto. Recommended!
Bhajani Thalipeeth was a first time for me. There came two huge pieces of thalipeeth that weren't deep fried and were yet perfectly crisp, yummy and healthy. There was no white butter served with this one, only a coconut chutney. Recommended!
Their Misal Pav is on the sweet side though I found it spicy enough, my Maharashtrian friends did not enjoy it as much.
The Kothimbir Wadi was crisp and balanced in flavour served with a yogurt based chutney that complemented it well!
Ended on a note of Shrikhand which was very smooth and flavoured with kesar. Recommended!
If you are too lazy to walk till Aaswad from Dadar station, this is a closer option!
PS- They are closed on Sundays.

I am a regular visitor of Panshikar & Co which is located opposite to dadar station west. You get the best mouth watering Misal in whole of a Dadar out there whether is is farali misal or puneri misal. The best thing is you get exact same taste every time you order Misal. After having it you can order dry fruits Milk which is amazing. I am loving it.
Sameer Tendolkar
One of the best surviving Marathi food places. Their Farali misal has been my all time favorite and I think the best in Mumbai. The quality has been consistent for past 15+ years I have been going there
Aanand Kharde
Panshikar is one of most iconic names in sweets in Mumbai. The fare is very delectable and fresh. I always visit it for Kesar Katri, Piyush, Amrakhand and Mawa barfi which tops my list.

The staff service is good. Usually, on a regular day, the stuff is over by late evening. You are lucky if you could lay hands on piyush by 6 pm or be ready to be disappointed.

Long queues on festivals are a norm and quality even during peak festivals days is uncompromising.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for top quality at reasonable prices.
Shohini Sengupta
The store attendants are extremely rude and unhelpful and act as though they are doing you a favour by keeping the shop open. I wanted to go there and pick up Dussehra sweets for my family. Firstly the map coordinates given for the outlet are way off the mark and totally confusing. Second, I called the store to get the directions and asked if the shop was open with sweets available - not once did they mention that their sweets have run out of stock. Third, when I reached and wanted to see what was available, the attendants rudely said, apko kya dekhna hai, kyun dekhna hai - kuch baki nahi hai. They didn't even let you have a look at the counter. What a ghastly experience! They could have easily let us know that they're running out of stock when we had called. Would not recommend this place simply because of the terrible service and communication.

A vegetarian maharashtrian's delight... And the upwasi stuff, is out of this world. Whenever I am in the vicinity of Dadar Station, I trudge my way to this place, like it would be a much loved pilgrimage. The prices have soared up in the last few years, yet the taste makes it all worth it. My absolute staple food there is Farali and then a plate of Kharwas. But some of their other stuff, is awesome too like shengdana usal, khamang kakdi, sabudana khichdi, kande pohe, kothimbir wadi... and in the sweets - besan ladu, khobryachyi vadi, shrikhand vadi, dinkache ladu and last but not the least DUDHI HALWA (yummmm). Sheer food heaven! Tummy will definitely sighhh in pleasure with all the yumminess. Must go place, for authentic Maharashtrian fare.

Bhalla loves their shrikhand.
I go here for one item and end up getting many. Came home once with great pedas.
They have way too much sweets to resist. I couldn't.
You might be in the same boat when there.

Visited Panshikar & Co. this morning following an impromptu Misal Pav craving.

The misal is decent. It's not mind blowing or amazing or any such adjective. But its decent.

We also had the lassi and aam panhe, and they were also decent.

So yeah, to summarize this is a decent place to satisfy your Maharashtrian cuisine cravings but you could easily find better alternatives.

I have been to this place quite few times. Situated just a few minutes from dadar station this place is a must go to have those Maharashtrian morning breakfast items like pohe, upma, puranpoli, modaks, misal is awesome, etc. You can also find fresh sweets lying one above the other. Though this place is well known for its Maharashtrian cuisine it is also famous for summer killer chilled piyush.

Dadar is like a hub especially West for maharashtrian cuisines..
Panshikar is one among many.. To rate it on scale of ambiance is I would not prefer to do cz it's a small restaurant with 'food' that should do the talking. U pick up any dish, it's mouth watering😍🙌
Personal favourites-
-Puneri Misal Pav(always ask for an extra 'rassa' vati) BEWARE CZ ITS TOO SPICY
-Kothimbir wadi
-dahi farali Misal
-Farali misal
-Panshikar che Vade try karayla visru naka..!!
The chutney they serve is made with curd.
-Vada Usal.. With pav
For sweet lovers
- Amrakhand
-Dudhi vadi
-PEDHE which is the SPECIALITY
-KAJU KATLI/KESAR KAJU KATLI.. FOR ALL THE KAJU KATLI LOVERS. it's one of the COSTLIEST in Mumbai.
-Masala Dudh(Milk)
Food- 9.8/10
Value for money-10/10

Perfect place for maharashtrian food. Kharvas, Piyush, kothambir vadi. You name it and it's available here. The kharvas is a must have here and probably the best kharvas in town.

The place is located close to Dadar railway station and is known for typical Maharashtrian dishes. What draws me to this place is their 'faraali misal' that I rarely get where I live. Any visit cannot end before having 'Masala doodh'.

If you want to try authentic maharashtrian cuisine...this place is a must for you! Right from the missal pav to the sweets everything is hands down tasty! The menu is written in marathi which further adds to it's charm! The service is very quick and you'll get your food in less than 5 mins after you order! :-D Had vada usal pav last week and it has now become my second favourite dish after missal pav! They serve a drink named Piyush which is a must try! Bright yellow colour and mildly sweet..a perfect way to end your meal!

There are two of these outlets in Dadar, both with the same name but are not the same. I used to frequent this place and my dad used to patronise the other. And all that while I thought there is only one in Dadar.
Recently I discovered the other one too and I can never decide which one is the better one.
This is more of a quick snack type with sparse seating, a sweet shop is in the front part.
The place is clean and service is fast. Batata wada and sabudana wada is good. One can finish a meal with a glass of piyush.
Sweets are strictly OK, but the crowds are more for the snacks. It is right opposite the Dadar railway station, west side at the exit of platform number one.

Stepping into this traditional Maharashtrian restaurant located amongst the hustle and bustle of busy Dadar was a true delight.
I can safely call this a hidden gem. Waiters hustling about, people coming and going, fresh food being served about, the smell of pure ghee from the kitchen all made for a beautiful experience.
It was upvas items only when I went and I was a bit skeptical but boy I was in for a surprise.
Everything, including the menu is written in Marathi which adds to the charm of the place.
First came the Sabudana wada. Sinfully crunchy from the outside and soft from the inside these wadas were absolutely brilliant.
Cute little Sabudana's spiced with peanuts and green chillies deep fried to a golden brown served with a beautiful green chutney which waa both sweet and tangy. The chutney was the star of the dish.
Then came their Ginger Lemon drink which was out of the world. Lime juice flavored with the spice of ginger has so many health benefits, plus it tastes really good.
I also tried a drink called 'Piyush'. Now Piyush sounds funny for a drinks name but it was absolutely stunning.
Imagine sweet curd blended with lime and sugar with an attractive yellow colour.
Loved it.
The service is fast, food delicious and the prices are very pocket friendly.
If you're looking for some traditional Maharashtrian food in Bombay, this is where you should head.
Fully recommended.

The BEST place to have misal pav...
I think after vada pav, misal pav is the staple food for mumbaikars... you can get misal pav at any big or small food joint... well but surely no one can beat panshikar... sittings is the serious issue out here but the wait is worth for every single bite.... the taste of misal pav or farali misal can be like drug... once tasted and fallen for it... I think every foodie should try misal pav and other stuff on the menu once in a life time...
They serve the best in area..
All time favorite is tel poli... which is crispy version of puran poli..
Ohhh!! what a taste n texture it has
Sabudana vada is another stuff which you can't miss... chutney they serve is mixure of chutney and youghurt....
I visited this place after following reviews here. I would definitely suggest this for breakfast. I visited on ekadashi so only upwaas preparations were available. I had upwaas sabudana khichadi ,sabudana wada, upwaas thalipeet, usaal and masala milk. Best maharashtrian breakfast I had in mumbai...even better than that of hotel prakash.. Just the place is small and u may have to share table if the crowd is more. A must visit place for sure. Hospitality - 4 cleanliness - 5 service - 5 ambience - 3 Taste - 5

Finding this place would be task if you are not familiar with Dadar. DO NOT THINK ABOUT DRIVING DOWN TO THIS PLACE! Its located on Tulsi Pipe Road, bang opposite Dadar station west, below the bridge outside the station.

This recently revamped place still has limited sitting but service is quick and people move out quickly too. Afterall its not a place for stuffing a big meal.. its one for a nice evening snack!

Try the Puneri misal. This place became famous thanks to this dish. Ofcourse, a Piyush goes very well with the misal.

Additionally, you could kothambir vadi, sabudana vada or even simple batata vada. You can rest assured that whatever you order would be served hot and crispy. Bit the true worth of these dishes is the cold, sweet coriander chutney that they serve with the dish. It is just far too awesome!!!

Christopher Columbus had set sails from Spain for India but ended up discovering America, which isn't a bad discovery by any measure.

In the same context, I set out in the morning for a very famous 100 year old institution but finding it closed, ended up discovering another gem in the vicinity.

Location:
Exit Dadar station towards the Bandra end of platform no. 1 on the Western railway. Go below the bridge, on your right hand side is Suvidha, a famous readymade garment store. Turn left and a past a couple of shops away is this gem of a restaurant.

Ambience:

It’s a sweet shop and a restaurant. The entrance is occupied by a huge counter for displaying the sweets then the dining area. Interiors are nothing to rave about but its clean.

Food:

This restaurant serves only Maharashtrian dishes, regular & the ones that can be consumed on fasting days. I ordered for the following –

Puneri Misal – Enticing is the word which came to my mind after I finished polishing off the Misal. In Puneri misal, the base of the missal is replaced by poha instead of boiled & spiced potato.

The method of serving this dish was also unique.

A small plate with a base of poha, a layer of boiled lentils, topped with chopped onions then green coriander and then sev. This plate is kept in a bigger plate with a deep base and then a spicy curry is poured over it. Scoop a spoonful of the mixture of the small plate, dip it in the curry and have it.

The taste was awesome. The misal tastes normal initially but as you start eating it the flavours unravel & the spice hits you when you are done with the ¾ th dish.

Batata Wada – The wada was not oily, neither inside nor outside. Though by the look of its colour it was fried properly, the outer coating was soft and crispy. The masala used for the spicing the wada had an over-bearing flavor of garlic and luckily no curry leaves & whole coriander.

The surprise element was in the Chutney. The general norm is that green chutney made of coconut, green coriander & green chillies is served or dry garlic chutney is served with the Batata Wada.

But here the chutney served was made of curd, mint and some green coriander; there was one more familiar ingredient which I wasn’t able to identify. It was awesome and I loved it so much ordered for another helping.

Buttermilk – I ordered for an Aam Panna but it wasn’t ready at 9:30 am hence came the buttermilk, a natural and one of the best coolant in this summer heat. It looked nice and frothy but it was slightly sour to taste, maybe stored overnight or freshly made from sour curd. It didn’t contain any additives in it not even salt,

All of the above cost me Rs.125, which is VFM

Highly recommended!

Food Quality – 3.5/5 [0.5 points deducted for the sour buttermilk]
Food Quantity – 4/5
Ambience – 3.5/5
Service – 4/5
Price – 4/5
