The Restaurant has a great Ambience and is easily accessible in matunga. Very affordable for College Students. They have a minimal entry fees of Rs. 50 which is worth the food quality. Fast Service. Rs. 200 for one is more than enough for a wholesome lunch or dinner.

Rangoli is a nice place to dine with your family.. The ambiance is very nice and cozy. The vibes here are very pleasant with nice staff guys welcoming you. This is famous for its Gujarati thali, North Indian and chines food. They have a wide menu with many cuisines and most of the food that I tried here was amazing and delicious. Overall a nice place to visit.

This place is introduced by my 'Father in law' who loves/use to prefer Thali than a-la- cart.
They serve Gujrati Thali and ala cart menu with few western/asian dishes.
Though I am not a thali lover, I prefered it after seeing my hubby's thali!! šŸ˜‹šŸ˜„ It was too yummy, delicious, tasty! Starts from Jaljeera ends with child chhaas. It includes chaat, starter item, subjis, salads, daals, rice khichadi, papad pickle, roti bhakari, puris, sweets btw I just loved moong daal halwašŸ˜Š
It's typical gujju taste. Not so spicy and bland too. Made to typical gujju style atmosphere, tastes. Also keep on eyes on wastage of food.
On the other hand, we order sabjis for home delivery. Those are too much spicy, oily!! So better to go for thali than a-la-cartešŸ‘Œ

Good food and service. Suggestions is not to take entry fee for non-members of Matunga Gujarati club. Thali is good but still it can be better in terms of authentic Gujarati.

Welcome back to the channel everybody and wishing you a happy new year.
A new year and this time around i had some 4 places explored and today i am gonna mention all of them.

First and foremost i got a home delivery done from rangoli restaurant in matunga.

Those who are in matunga will know thats its famous for its sunday thali gujurati style. But on other days they give good a la carte food as well.

Once again thank you Zomato for the offer you had whole december.

Coming to the food we ordered:-

1)Dal tadka jeera rice:-

The jeera rice was hot and nice biryani rice cooked perfectly with jeera and tossed in pan.
The dal tadka was bit thick which went very well with the jeera rice.Unlike otherwise where you get a dal in liquid form.

4.5/5 for the taste quantity as well as cost.

2) Pindi chole masala:-
This was again very nicely cooked and served with soft chole chana and nice rich red gravy.
It was different than the chole masala we are used to but it went perfectly well with tandoor roti and jeera rice.

Overall a very good option for both rice and roti.

Verdict:-
For people staying in matunga having ala carte you have garnish and classic always but this restaurant is a surprise package and i would recommend people tp try this.

This was my first time from Rangoli. I ordered food from Rangoli restaurant via Zomato. I happen to order Paneer Chatpata (Red), butter rotis, butter nan & Dal khichdi Tadka. Paneer was really really Red šŸ˜€
Food quality was good... Though I felt the portions were less.. Dal Tadka was standout especially the tadka in it was too good !!
I got 100ā‚¹ discount via Dec No Cook offers through Zomato.
Expect to spend 400ā‚¹-450ā‚¹ for 2 ppl.

Guys if you prefer veg food.. go ahead & try Rangoli

Nice and decent place to eat. Though in gujarati club they serves different cuisine. I tried bhutte ke kabab it was nice but more or less like hara bhara kabab. Subj patiyala was nice and daal tadaka was also good. Cheese naan amd masala chhas are also worth trying. You have to pay entry fee if you are not member. But its cheap so it doesn't matter much.

We had Gujarati Thali at Rangoli and the food was awesome.
Easily comparable to the likes of Maharaja Bhog and Rajdhani but in fact the taste is much better.

The price overall is also cheaper as the Thali costs 300 + 50 Rs entry per guest as I am not a Gujarati club member, total 350 per head.

The menu had 2 sweets 4 Farsan, 4 Subji daal kadhi papad chaas salad Jaljeera and soup.

I have given it 4.5 take. Half point out for slow service that was understandable as it was a Sunday and we reached at 1:30 pm. There was waiting for an hour.
If it is a big group, I would advise to have one person reach an hour early and write the name especially on Sunday.

On Sunday they only serve Thali, that means the waiting line reduces faster but still the no of people are considerable and it takes some time.

The staff is courteous and smiling and they serve whatever is asked, experienced delay due to Sunday but on second reminder they ensure you get it.

It is overall a good place and value for money spent, would recommend any Thali lover especially Jain as there are lots of Jain options in Farsan and vegetable.

Best place if you are visiting with your family and need to have some indian food with great taste and not much heavy on your stomach.
Mostly famous amongst the vegeterian's and guju's.
No doubt about the type of food served here is always good in quality and freshness.
Vegies in any dish are finely chopped and have crispy texture which itself is the proof of fresh vegies being used.
They have a per person entry for guest(not a member of the club)since its a club. Not a hefty entry but a nominal fees around 30-40 depends on the day of visit.
Great ambience.
Quantity is a bit low so order accordingly.
Priced perfectly.

A must try for this place would be Rangoli Sabj Bahar.
Other dishes to try out: Sabj Patiala, Sabj Panchmel, Daal Tadka.

The Ć  la carte is a good choice for people who don't want to spend a lot. A meal of 2 naans, sabjis, daal and rice which would leave you satisfied would cost you somewhere around 150-170 per person. (Which includes 30/- entry fee)

A good place for vegetarian gujrathi cuisine in Matunga. There is a small entrance fee of Rs 30 on weekdays and Rs 40 on weekends for non members, but the food isn't pricey, so overall costs are justified.
The Dal tadka and jeera rice are one of my constant comfort foods at Rangoli.
The Currys are also tasty, special mention to the sabj bahar, which is a version of the veg tiranga. Provides 3 different flavours in a single dish.

Finding a classy Gujarati restaurant in Matunga is difficult. And Rangoli is a hidden gem ā€“ Situated on the 2nd floor in Matunga Gujarati Club, Near Don Bosco School, Matunga East. This 62 seater restaurant serving Mexican, Thai, Continental, Chinese and Indian cuisines is very popular among the youth.

If you are not a member of the Gujarati Club, then you have to pay an entry fee of Rs. 30 (and Rs. 40 for weekends). The place is usually crowded on the weekends but it is totally worth the wait.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was stunned by the ambience. The place was very well lit and the decor was warm, appealing and soothing to the eyes. The grand door opens into a long passage with tables on both the sides. With soft music playing in the background and comfortable seating arrangements, I had a great evening at Rangoli. The ambience truly elevated the dining experience. And the authentic delicacies make the search for ideal dine fare end here.

The menu was very easy to understand, with side-notes to locate the required page.

Ā I decided to try their ā€˜Gujarati Thaliā€™ as it is the speciality of Rangoli.

Rangoliā€™s Gujarati Thali is priced at INR 250. The Thali is very filling and will definitely make you go weak in the knees. It starts with yummy Jaljeera and Buttermilk followed by soup, salad, papad and farsans. The main course has 3 types of Indian breads, 2 types of rice, 4 Sabjis and 2 types of Dal and Kadhi.

As soon as we reached, The staff laid out the Thali and started serving us.

The thali consists of :

Beverages : Jaljeera and Buttermilk

Soup : Beijing Soup

Salad : Tomatoes and Cucumbers

Papad

Farsans : Paan flavoured Dhokla, Seekh Kabab, Kachori and Manchurian Balls

Indian Breads : Roti, Puri and Paratha

Dal : Marwari Dal

Kadhi : Dahi ki Kadhi

Sweet : Bengali Sweet

For times when You are on the go, Rangoli offers a Special Thali Meal Box. The price of the meal box is INR 175. The meal box has :

1 Sweet

2 Sabji

1 Dal

Salad

Papad

Chutney/Pickle

2 Farsan

Roti/Puri

Rice

Not only that, Rangoli also provides home delivery services. It offers

(Vegetable + Gravy), Reverse Undhiyu, Green Gujarat, Bhindi Masala, Veg Kolhapuri, Chhole, Veg Kadai and Veg Jalfrazi

(1/2 Paneer + Gravy) Paneer Kadai, Paneer Tikka Masala, Paneer Kofta, Paneer Butter Masala)

Dunlop Dhokla, Ghughara, Pattice, Dahi Wada, Cutlet, Corn Toast

Rabdi, Bengali Sweet, Basundi, Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun, Akhrot Halwa

Dal, Rice, Roasted Papad, Dum Biryani, Veg Pulav, Green Chutney, Sauce, Kadhi, Green Salad

Puri Atta, Roti Atta, Reshmi Paratha

The Tomato Dhaniya Shorba Soup is a must try. It is prepared with tomatoes, fresh cream and coriander and was served with crunchy croutons. The Hara Bhara Awadhi, Paneer Ajawaini Tikka and Exotic Vegetables are amazing among the starters. They were mouth-watering and were two of my favourites. Paneer 65 (Paneer pieces with a sweet, spicy, tandoori flavour served with curd) is a must-try. The array of delectable dishes from around the world include signature dishes like The Rangoli Club Sandwich, served along with fries. It is made of tomato, cucumber, grilled lettuce, bell pepper, zucchini and has an Amul cheese slice.

The Pizza Gardenia is loaded with mozzarella cheese, grilled bell pepper, zucchini and corn. Island Desire and Pina Colada are amazing. You must definitely try them. I, then, tried the Penny Cheese Miano Pasta. For the main course, I had the Shahi Malai Kofta and Kaju Paneer Makhanwala. The Shahi Malai Kofta is a rich paneer dumpling stuffed with mix fruits and loaded with cashew nuts. The Kaju Paneer Makhanwala had whole cashews and paneer cooked in a rich gravy and was served with lots of grated cheese. Both the dishes were filling and worth the value for money.

The Rangoli Special Tawa Pulao had rice cooked to perfection with cashew nuts and coriander leaves sprinkled on the top. The Chilly Cheese Kulcha was the best as it was not too spicy yet very flavourful. The Cheese Garlic Naans had a good amount of cheese on them and they win over among the naans.

For Dessert, We had Gulab Jamuns with Chocolate Sauce. These were the most delicious Gulab Jamuns Iā€™ve ever had! I just didnā€™t want it to end, haha! And, we finished off with Buttermilk.

Having an extensive food and drinks menu with exceptional dishes made Rangoli a true Culinary Delight. The high quality food, excellent service & value for money enables the customers to get quality products; served quickly, with a smile in an air conditioned, clean, hygienic, pleasant and attractive environment.

While finding north Indian restaurants in Matunga can be difficult, Rangoli is a hidden gem. Located in Matunga Gujarati club, this restaurant serves north Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine. They do charge a sum of Rs 30 as entry fee (Rs 40 on weekends) but the food they serve is worth too. I have mostly tried north Indian food there and it has actually been the best! Cheese naans are surely to be tried while paneer kalimiri and veg Patiala are amazing too! Among starters the hara Bhara kebabs win over.
Do visit for wonderful flavours of Northern delicacies they serve and if you are still hungry try their Chinese dishes too!šŸ˜‚

Location : Right next to Don Bosco School. Its on the second floor of Matunga Gujarathi club. Lift is available to take you to the second floor.

Ambiance : Very good decoration inside. Nice, Clean restaurant. Quite spacious. But maybe weekends it must be packed, so reservation is probably recommended.

For member's of the club entry is free to the restaurant.Ā

Non-members are also allowed but they have to pay a Rs. 30 entry fee per person. They should either eliminate that fee or add it to the final bill for non-members. It looks a bit cheap & discriminatory to pay that fee and then go in.

They have an Unlimited Thali - All you can eat for Rs. 250 + 18 % GST = Rs. 295.Ā  Thali is available for lunch only, 7 days a week.Ā  For Dinner Thali is not available, only A-la carte menu for dinner.

A-la carte menu is also available for both lunch & dinner . The prices are quite reasonable. I didn't have A-la carte so can't comment on the same.

I had the Thali on a weekday.Ā

The thali was very good. They had 2 sweets , 3 Appetizers , 4 Sabhjis, 2 Dals/Kadis, Soup , Salad , Puri, Roti & Naan. They had plain pulav type rice & ghee.Ā

They also give you 2 drinks - we had Jal jeera and Chaass ( butter milk ) drink. They also gave us some Chinese bhel at the start.

The sweets and the appetizers were the best among all. But for some reason they serve the sweets first. You can eat it later if you want and have more also later if you want. Or you can eat it first, entirely up to you.

The 4 Sabhjis were OK & decent. Not great, but not bad either. Sadly Undiyo was not on the menu, the day I went in. So they had 4 other Sabhjis.

The 2 sweets were nice thick Basundi and Moong dal lawaa with pistachio on it. One of the best I have had.

Appetizers were Dhokla, Nice veg tikki/kebab and another samosa type but a bit slightly different type of thing.

I am not giving it 5 star because the service was a bit slow especially in the first 10 minutes or so. So I am taking 0.5 star away. But over all the waiters and manager were polite & courteous. They were re-filling the food whenever you wanted more. Things and service picked up fast , after the first 10 minutes or so.

For Rs. 295 ( All - Inclusive price ) for unlimited good quality Gujarathi Thali, this is definitely worth it.

Correctly Said in one of the reviews. Why Pay to get inside.Ā
Understand it's a Club - Might as well keep it open only for members then.
Hyped ? No , will not agree on that some of the food is good.
Service can be an issue. TOO noisy and weekends its a MESS.
No alcohol.
Vegetarian only.
Just Bunk the Mocktails. essence.Ā
Food - Starters are ok to good.
Tex mex nachos with black bean salsa.Ā
Taco Pasta saladĀ
Soup - try tom yam ( nice ) they have tried best to give the thai touch.
Paneer Satey is interesting - served with chilly paneer sauce.
I have not tried the continental.Ā
Chinese is ok but some Indian starters are interesting :
Pahadi Paneer Tikka - stuffed with phudina and dhaniya and seasoning.
Must have the papad roll.
Veg Chilli Milli sheekh.
Miloni tarkari can be tried - spicy spinach and Phudina gravy.
Aloo Rogan Gosh is good - onion gravy thick, bell pepper + alooĀ
Dal Khichi ( yum )
and the breads are good.
Pricing is perfect. Being a club not heavy on the price. quantity can be an issue.
Overall a place to try. Avoid weekends.

Food is a very individual experience & only when something really works that bit extra positive, one gives a higher rating. Otherwise, any restaurant worth its salt more or less serves up decent food. Rangoli is a gem, hidden behind the legendary Aurora theatre, manged by the Gujarati Mandal. You pay an entry fee of rs.30/pp if you are a non member. Why I gave a 4.0 to this place that serves a more than decent Gujarati thaali :
* quality of food, especially starters is very good, the flavors are Gujarati, there's no attempt to dilute the taste of please everyone
* service is unhurried, non intimidating, which means you are not under pressure to gobble up the kachori in haste, just coz the server has been hovering around you, making you conscious :)
* the daal & kadhi are sweet, as they are supposed to be, genuinely lovable, if you like the gujju taste
* lot of thaali places don't pay much attention to salads, which I love. Here theres a generous platter along with the mandatory papad, Jal jeera and chaas, there's also a mini soup bowl( cute)
* most restaurants have forgotten the under rated fruit salad- it's very much part of the offering here & that made my day! Simple joys
*last but not the least, reasonable pricing for delightful food

So while in matunga, which is known for south Indian food joints, here's a great option to enjoy a Gujarati meal

Good Restaurant. However would highly recommend the Gujarati Thali that is served only during lunch time. They should have Thali service during dinner hours as well

This restaurant I visited with my family mainly for Thali. It was quite good. The variety and taste of all items were good. It started with Jaljira and...continued till butter milk. We were very full and happy to visit this eatery. Sitting arrangement was nice but could have been better with more space. Overall very nice.

Simple ambience , courteous staff and Lip Smacking food!!! A perfect combination for a dine-out. This restaurant is a part of the Matunga Gujrati Club, so if you are not a member you have to pay an entry fee of Rs. 30/- per head, but once in the food makes it worth the Ā charges. They serve perfect North Indian, Indian- Chinese, Mexican and continental food. The Chilly Corn Cheese balls are absolutely yummmm, perfect crisp on the out and mushy cheesy inside it was served with a minty mayonnaise which was equally finger licking, the Pahadi Paneer Tikka was also delicious and charred to perfection. Next was the Sizzling Mix vegetable- a combination of bell peppers, peas and pineapple sizzled with a spicy cashewnut gravy ā€“ it was too good, we found the portion comparatively smaller though and ended up re-odering it , but I m not at all sorry about it. The food was served at regular intervals- although the staff cautioned us to order it in advance ā€“with a serving time of 15minsā€¦ it was served in halftime ļŠ. a big thanks to Rohit who runs the show.
