Hanglas is a great placeb to visit for authentic bengali food. Their kolkata mutton biryani is probably the best in mumbai and their moghlai paratha is great too! Their mutton nawabi roll and tikia chaap are gems as well. You wont get it anywhere else.
I generally do not review regular ordered food...but I am making this big exception just to let you know how amazing this small biriyani joint is...if you would like to try authentic bengali biriyani this place is definitely worth a try....I found this biriyani better than even some of the famous biriyani places in calcutta and I am not exaggerating...the biriyani accompanies with well cooked delicious piece of potato, two large pieces of meat, and a boiled egg.
Hangla"s ....located at powai, galleria centre.
Rolls, biriyanis,is thier main dishes. I tried double chicken roll, egg biriyani and chicken buna roll..it was very hygiene and tasty... They have rolls starting from 80/- to 200 .i like it very much.must try.
It was a quite depressing week - no chicken for few days. So, we thought to order some good Bengali Chicken dishes. Hangla's is known for good Bengali dishes. Ordered Chicken Biriyani in Bengali Style and the delicious Kolkata Egg-Chicken Roll along with Chicken Bharta. Food disappeared in a fraction of a second. If you have not tried Bengali Biriyani which is totally different - you must try.
Hengla is popular for the Kolkata style Chicken Biryani..with the boiled egg and the potatoes this one is a classic with least amount of spices and the aroma of pure ghee this is the most aromatic fresh and healthy biryani option..yeah healthy as compared to the tawa pulao styled biryani I mean 😀. So for all biryani lovers this is a must try!!!
My love for authentic Bengali Biryani brings me here again n again. Must go place if you love Kolkata Rolls or Bengali cuisines. Their Biryani is best in town just mark my words. Quality of rice, taste, perfectly cooked chicken with right amount of spices with Potatoe and Boiled Egg. Don't expect they make regular biryani with full of masala's. The regular kathi roll they are just too good.
Authentic Bengali food especially biryani .....biryani a must try for people who have not yet forgotten the flovour of kolkata .Chicken chap was also good but still had something left to be desired
A Bengali biryani lover's paradise in Mumbai... Really loved the mutton biryani. The range of kebabs and cutlets take me back to my home town...
Me and my friends ordered fish cutlet, fish chop, mutton kebab and mutton Biryani's.
Only observation is the chicken in the chicken Biryani tastes dry sometimes and in few of the occassion I found the biryani to be not fresh... However, I am willing to overlook as the taste is authentic 9/10 times. Kudos Hanglaassss
hot and fresh chicken with a spicy gravy.
One of the best and affordable biriyani ever had in Mumbai . The Taste was superb with the essence intact. Lovely experience.will definitely try other dishes on next visit.
I have been to this outlet located at Galleria many a times and also ordered online from here. Each and every time I order mutton biryani. And the taste is awesome. Authentic Bengali taste. I just love it.
Being a bong I always heard of this place from the time I came to Mumbai. This place serve our exact Bengali Biriyani with Aloo and Dim, as we used to have in Kolkata.
Here I had Mutton Biriyani and seriously guys jus wow. I am now writing the review and also my mouth is fulled with water.
I loved the pieces of mutton it was well cooked with masala inside and the rice ahhhhh. I had my best dinner the day I had biriyani from here.
I will come again or order online to have the same.
I love chicken roll from hanglas. reasonable priced, not very oily and very tasty.
biryani was good, not much masala. quantity was good. but no raita with the biryani.
we ordered chicken biryani combo with chicken kasha.. was warm on delivery and food was very tasty.
good.. tasty.. as per exact spec
No raaita was served with chicken biryani. Rest was cool.
Ordered mutton biryani. It was well cooked , not too spicy and the mutton was super tender. highly recommended.
The food was great but delivery service was poor
Usually a cucumber onion salad is accompanied with the fish fry and Mughlai paratha that I ordered which was missing in this order. I do not know whether it was a miss or u do not serve it. It will be appreciated if it is added to the dishes.
Food taste is very good could be less oily.
If you want a taste of authentic kolkata biriyani at bombay, then this the place.Located in the food court of a mall..
The biriyani and rolls were realy tasty just like kolkata..
A must visit for biriyani lovers.
Need more specification about the combo meal..however food was good..
Hangla's is one of the Best places in Mumbai to have Bong food.
Must Have's are Chicken Biryani, Egg Chicken Roll, Fish Fry, Fish Chop, Chicken Cutlet, Chicken Kasha or even Mutton Kasha (In Bengali Kosha Maongso), Mugglai Paratha.
A real delight for Bong food.
And to end it all one can have Misti Doi!
Enjoy!!
So, this was like a last minute hunger stop. Starving as hell at 9pm. The moment we stepped in that area, there were over 7 menu cards on my table. But hangla didn't come forth. We were craving for mutton kasha, we tried at bijoli. So this is what we thought of trying too. Trust me, awesome taste, qty.. It's just yum! Must try chicken kasha combo. Super reasonable and amazing taste. Not very spicy as bijoli.
Love their egg roll which is super in taste even though greasy and has maida (lots of it!). The misti doi is decent as well. Will recommend for an occasional snack.
One of the best places to have kolkata style biryani and rolls..this time have ordered Muglai partha and it was worth. Best for home delivery. Most recommended item is mutton biryani.
Great place for rolls and wraps. Chicken bhuna roll is my favorite. The mutton bhuna roll is also a must try. Rolls are served with thin sliced onion, the meat is cooked well and is well enjoyed with ketchup. The outer parantha could be cooked little better and less oily.
Hangla's is one of the restaurants serving Bengali cuisine in Powai. Since I reside close-by, I have ordered numerous times from this place (so often that I have almost had each of their dishes). The range of items can be considered minimal owing to limited space in which operates. While it does an incredible job at instilling a level of authenticity, there is scope for improvement on the food. The biryanis are sumptuous with generous pieces of meat. However, very often I have found the meat too dry to my liking. The mini thalis can be appetizing for someone looking to relish a Bengali meal. A major setback was the oil-drenched Muglai parathas. For someone with a big appetite like mine, I was unable to eat even a half portion of it. The hospitality is palpable while the service is brisk.
amazing food..taste of Kolkata!!
Food is really good rather would say value for money. It is my favourite weekend place, though they need to work on the ambience. The behaviour of each and every staff is pleasant and they greet really well.
Biryani is very tasty. But if the mutton pieces were a bit more soft then it would have been perfect. Otherwise the taste is awesome almost like kolkata biryani.
One place I think of when I'm craving a quick Bengali meal. Their portions are good and their thalis don't disappoint. My personal favorite is their fish thali.
Dikhne me chota or taste me lajawab....it's small place but nice service and taste....
Try fish curry and chicken's... actually you got a taste of kolkata, a culture of kolkata in all dishes....
It's near by my work place.....good place.... shopping in galleria and eating in hangla 😎😘
Their chicken roll is yum and tastes like the real deal. Delivery is prompt making it a good option for a quick bite when you are really hungry.
Great Biryani... the most authentic kolkata special biryani. Both chicken and mutton! Got delivery on time and a hot meal. Also the biryani is accompanied with an egg. Loved it.
I am a biryani addict. I have traversed continents and when faced with the delicate decision of trying something new I invariably zero in on the biryani. I hail from Kolkata and almost always end up dejected with what I get abroad which is Hyderabadi Biryani. Kolkata Biryani is more Awadhi style with an aloo and egg and the orgasmic smell of basmati, keora and saffron. But I am always disappointed with the fabled places in Kolkata itself. I have tried almost all so called good places of Biryani including Arsalan, Bhojohori, Aminia, Sabir etc etc. This is by far the best Biryani I have tasted anywhere. When it comes to Kolkata Biryani I am hangla for Hangla's.
the most awesome biryani i had outside kolkata!the best part,it keeps becoming better!hats off for delivering the taste of kolkata biryani!hungry evenings at the iit are best served by hangla's!
It used to be good. The rolls and biryani were very close to what you would get in a decent joint in Kolkata. However off late they have been below par. I guess it is the lack of competition that makes them careless. OK food. Chicken Biryani and rolls are acceptable. Everything else can be passed.
Been there many times only to taste Biriyani made in Bengali style. If you love Bengali biriyani, you must visit Hangla's to give it a try. Undoubtedly one of the best Bengali Biriyani you will get in Mumbai.
Note : This rating is only for biriyani as I haven't yet tried anything else.

Hopping about galleria shopping complex without indulging in food is nothing short of a nightmare; especially if you're a Bengali and a Biryani freak. Each and every time I visit galleria, I do visit Hangla's without fail. Situated in the midst of the hustle bustle in the food court, this place is sure to serve as a saviour to all those people out there who crave for the authentic Awadhi biryani (or apocryphally known as the "Kolkata style Biriyani "). The food that they serve is sheer delight. Although the biryani is a bit on the oily side, the taste of it is bound to make you fall for this place.
This place is located in the hub of Bengali eateries in Powai. Probably after Bhojohori Manna there, Hangla's come in terms of food and service. No service as such but the food is quite decent.
Coming from CR Park my expectations from Bengali food is way to high . But must say that Hangla's does not disappoint .
Chicken kosha along with paratha was tasty . Slightly high on masala but a bit of lemon did the trick . But the highlight of the lunch was the caramel custard . A complete surprise that I had to reorder . A must have .
Service was fast and prompt which again is a surprise for a bong restaurant.
Tried the chicken roll. I've not had authentic Bengali food yet but this one was good. It's a simple chicken roll. The filling was simple without overdoing anything. Definitely gonna try more items from Hangla's. The roll had a dominant peppery feel which I liked but may not be of everyone's liking. They took more time than necessary for a roll but I'll let that pass. So yea, impressed so far. Will update once I try more.
This is one place where you can find rolls somewhat similar in taste to the rolls that we find in delhi..
I have tried their Nawabi chicken roll with egg which was really good and filling and their egg roll which also is quite appetising.
All the rolls come with or without egg. I recommend with egg.. they are way more delicious
If your looking for the authentic Kolkata styled Biryani then Hangla's is the perfect joint for this epic and renowned cuisine.
The dishes are perfectly prepared and tastes totally great. Even their chicken chaap is quite good, although the same requires a bit of improvement but then again it's better than most other similar outlets that are trying hard to prepare these cusines and are unable to do justice to them. The prices are quite justified as far as these dishes are concerned.
Regarding the ambience, I wouldn't be able to comment much, since it's mostly a fast food/delivery chain. There are small seating arrangements inside the Galleria (Hiranandani Powai) where they would be serving you the food which is pretty much sorted if your planning to have a quick meal.
Being a huge foodie, I have always adhored Kolkata food and Hangla's does it perfectly in the best possible ways.

If you crave for some homemade and simplistic kondof biryani - here's where you want to come. It has a unique masaledar essence to it and the biryani potato is boiled and cooked well. You could accompany it with some chaas.
Highly recommended by us!
Having been born and brought up in Calcutta, I keep craving for authentic Bangali khaabar (Bengali food). Hangla's is the nicest Bengali food place in Mumbai. Must must have:
1. Mutton kosha mangsho combo - A well spiced mutton curry, Bengali lachha Parantha and caramel custard. The curry is well balanced in flavours and the meat is perfectly cooked. Please use hands only to enjoy the experience.
2. Chicken egg roll - closest to the original Kolkata roll.
3. Chicken steam momos - yum!
Bon Appetit!
Outstanding food and service. After three months in India I am moving on and this was my last meal here. I definitely made the right choice.
Great service & food. Tried the mutton biryani combo(kosha), fish chop & mishti doi. Absolutely delicious
Visited Hangla's Oshiwara Outlet ,they got shifted from Lokhandwala- circle, found the dine in option as well, ordered Chicken bhuna rolls , Fish fingers , but after thier recommendation had this Hangla's special Doi maach with steam rice. Let me tell you that I loved it , suggest try this one.
Amazing food 👌👌... Its been a while that we had tasted some authentic Kolkata cuisine...

Also very pocket friendly...
