Went to Mumbai for the marathon and found myself in Sion Circle on the night of 17/01/2020. Decided to check this place out... at about 22:00, had idli and dal rice. Stuff was really good. The idli was soft and well cooked. Chutney and sambhar were authentic. Dal was mild, but the pickle side compensated for it. Next morning, decided to go there for breakfast and do a carb overload prior to the marathon. Had some awesome idli, vada and sheera. The last was just too good, perfect for the carb overload! Washed it down with some strong South Indian Filter coffee. Excellent service, great price and a very decent ambiance. Highly recommended!!
An authentic udipi restaurant, clean and perfect place to catch up with anyone for short period. Serves hot and fresh food, that too quick in service.

The vicinity of this restaurant is easy to remember and the restaurant is easily accessible. The restaurant is diagonally opposite to Sion Station. It is spacious enough with a seperate air-conditioned section. Vrindavan opens early morning serving delicious South-Indian food for breakfast. It also serves North-Indian and Chinese dishes. Vegetarians are in for a treat at this place. Starters, Soups, Desserts, Milk Shakes you name it and they have it. Crowded on weekends and during lunch hours. The restaurant also provides Free Home Delivery if you stay in the vicinity. All in all a delightful experience for vegetarians.

The food served here was tasty. A small place but food served was very good. Atmosphere is good. Service by the staff is also good. Hygiene was properly maintained.
A bustling food joint representing the fast city life.
It has a great value for money with diverse cuisine and appreciable quantity in a medium price range.
Might not be an ideal spot for a leisurely dinner but it is certainly a great choice for those immersed in a busy day and looking for a quick and fulfilling bite.Β
Open almost round the clock. Best breakfast, brunch, meals & all variety of snacks. This place is very reasonable and serves good quality, hygienic food.Β
A must try for individuals who love south Indian food. The Sada Dosa and the Fried Idli are best options to try.
Had ordered batata toast from their upwas menu. If upwas food is this yummy, I would fast daily. Not spicy and neither sweet, just perfect taste and texture.
Got a chance to visit this restaurant after my recent trip.since it was breakfast time, I ordered tomato uttapam and I must say it was truly lip smacking π.
The chutney and sambhar were so full of authentic South Indian flavour that I couldnβt resist my self asking for more.

Our family's all time favourite restaurant. The taste of food has not at all changed from last 25 years. Nargis kofta is my all time favourite dish. Gadbad falooda is must try. Staff is polite and it is typical Udupi restaurant.
Located very close to sion station making this place quite crowded. This place is mostly full with people. The food quality over here is quite decent and had no such complaints about the food.
Dishes tried:
Masala Dosa: I'm a big fan of not only masala dosa's but of South Indian breakfast cuisine. Out of that one of my favorites is masala dosa. This tasted good. The dosa was nice nice and crispy. The masala also tasted quite good. Would recommend it.
Batata Wada rassa: This not your normal Wada sambar, it's a batata Wada with rassa. Tasted quite good. Even the rassa tasted good would recommend it.
On the whole its a decent place with good service and decent ambience. Just make sure you get a place to sit as this place is mostly very crowded.

What we ordered : manchow soup, roti, paneer kolhapuri, Dal tadka, jeera rice and pulav.. all dishes were sumptuous.
Overall 3.5 in all aspects - food, quality, taste, ambience, service.
Very nice outlet with friendly service. I order Manchow soup, veg crispy for starters and garlic naan, butter roti, khema tawa masala and burnt garlic fried rice for main course and for desert I order fruit salad with jelly and ice cream and malai kulfi and it all was so good that I would like to visit there again and try all other menu on the list. Worth to visit πππ
Good food zomato staff was very quick in delivery was very courteous. We ordered the special biryani and vridavan special vegetable it tasted very good
I visit cafe vrindavan quite frequently. I am a big fan of their south indian dishes. During my last visit with my friends, we noticed that they had introduced few special dishes in their chinese cuisine. It was not the usual fare one would expect from a south indian QSR. So we tried some of them like the red thai curry which is served with steamed rice, paneer in burnt garlic sauce and vegetables in pataya sauce as it was recommended by our server srinivas. All of us were really happy with the dishes. The dishes were diverse from each other, varied in texture and very flavourful. The service was also prompt. We were impressed with the quality of their chinese food which according to us was comparable to some good chinese hangouts we visit. Well done team cafe vrindavan. Be consistent
Vrindavan, As holy and ancestral as the name is π Near to Sion Station and on the opposite lane of Hotel Ramdev..Quite a nice place for food lovers.. Good ambience and service Staff..being a Saturday evening..it was expected to be full..and it was indeed..
Got a seat quite soon.. after strolling thru the menu..ordered Idli Sambhar, Veg Crispy, Veg Cutlet, Masala Dosa.
All the dishes were sumptuous and Plentiful..
Surprisingly the veg crispy was above all in taste..Even though it being an age old and south Indian Cuisine favoured restro.. Chinese dish isn't expected to be much as good as it Was..
Will love to visit again ..sooon..!!!
Overall a 4/5 in all aspects.. Ambience, Food , Taste, Qty, service and Cleanliness..:)

Vrindavan is a family place. I ordered the cheese Pav bhaji and it didnβt disappoint me. The bhaji and cheese were in generous quantity. The pav was soft and buttery. Cheese Pav bhaji is a must try if you visit here.
It is a great place. Love their idli vada sambar and the varities of dosas. Tried the breakfast combo which comes with idli, vada, upma and sheera. Great service and quality.
Best place in Sion to get tasty food. Staff is ever welcoming and polite. None of the other restaurants can beat their main course in terms of quality and taste. Considering the the quality and hygiene, I think it's reasonably priced.
This is a pure veg cafe serving a variety of dishes. It serves the usual chinese, south indian dishes along with some other titbits. Though, the best thing it serves is the 'Gadbad'.This place is know for the 'Gadbad' they serve. Gadbad is a glass full of various ice creams and shakes and seviyaan and sabza, topped with a waffle piece and some jello. The kesar falooda is also delicious. It is toppped with tuti-fruties, dry fruits and jello! It's mild and not too sweet which makes it all the way more delicious... Although, the 'Gadbad' is a must try especially by the people who have got a sweet tooth and special love for desserts!
Yesterday went with my family food is good .we tried dosa missal biryani and puri bhaji all good . its near skin station .service is good and clean.
Been there twice. Amazing food. The best choices would be a low profile starter, main meal of choice and an Indian Dessert. Nice service, I was pretty impressed by them. The place however is a little congested although the seating is comfortable. Prices are justifiable. Best feature of this Hotel would be the Location of it. 2 minutes from Sion Railway Station, this is a great choice if you make plans while in the train.
The place is well suited for a family, couples but not for a mid-budget treat, like most other good hotels.
Good breakfast. Humble staff. Ordered Masala dosa Vada Sambhar Puri and Shrikant.
Would love to come again and again.
Special thanks to all crew working here.
Ossam food.mind blowing taste and fully organised family restaurant... I love the place and the taste of the"food"
If u r near by ...u should try this place
One of the best veg restuarant in sion . The order is served quite fast and the cafe is well neat and clean. It is a good place to dine with family and friends.π
One of the best Udipi restaurant from Sion area. I have been there plenty of times since childhood. All types of South indian, North indian and Chinese dishes you can enjoy. AC/ NON AC section available. Attentive staff. More important, restaurant is value for money.
Overall Rating: 4/5
Rating based on Taste, Quantity and Value for money.
They serve nice big Rava idlis with sambhar and coconut chutney ..if u are really hungry at tea time then this is perfect healthy snack which is very much filling. Value for money too
A good restaurant , family place , reasonable price this is good place, try veg crispy, rava onion Mysore, Pizzas, vegetable sabjis and many more things,
We had been to this place on a weekend. This is a nice quick service restaurant opposite sion station. We ordered for Paper Masala Dosa,Curd Rice,Dal and Roti.
Paper Masala Dosa: I would suggest everyone to try this since this is one BIG DOSA with a masala stuffed inside as a treasure which comes with big bowl of Sambhar and Chatni. When i ordered, the server asked me (or rather cautioned me) whether i can finish this. I assured him that my friends will also bite in. And 3 of us successfully managed to finish it off finally.
CURD Rice: This was the best curd rice i had. Mind you, i am a south indian myself so i leave it to your imagination. Curd rice was chilled with lot of stuff in it like cashews, and few more stuff which i want you to figure it out yourself.
DAL Fry: This was good and if someone goes wrong in this, they have to shut shop.
Overall, it was good experience for us here.
Location : opposite our lady school near sion station
A local restaurant with good food and staff
Must try : dosa , Pav bhaji
Reasonable prices
Good place for a quick lunch or dinner
Service was satisfactory.
I have been to most of the south Indian joints in Matunga. Today, I decided to go and explore Sion as there are quite a few popular restaurants there as well. As soon as I came out of Sion station, I bumped into Cafe Vrindavan. This place was not as crowded as the ones in Matunga. So for a change, I got a 4-seater all for myself. Now that was a royal treatment when compared to my earlier experiences of eating in the restaurants of Matunga, where it's cramped and I had to share tables with 3 other people. There were quite a few dishes in the menu, but they didn't have a great variety in terms of speciality dishes as found in the restaurants of Matunga. I ordered for Rava Masala Dosa, the way I preferred it... crispy, and the masala (potatoes cooked with onion and spices) to be served seperately. Now that's me being a bit demanding :-). However, I have been generally disappointed with my first preference as most of them fail in making the dosa crispy. It's a bit tricky though, and the expertise lies in realising the right level of crispiness and removing it from the pan before it's burnt. But voila! The dosa that was served really impressed me. It was thin and 'really' crisp. It established the expertise of the dosa maker who knew his job well. The masala had the right consistency and the onions were succulent. It was served with a generous proportion of sambhar and chutney. I am very particular about sambhar as that is what complements the dish. I nervously tasted it and I must say it was one of the best sambhars that I had had for a long time. This is the kind of sambhar that I missed in all the restaurants in Matunga. However, I got to know from one of my friends that the sambhar preparation in Matunga restaurants are different and not like the ones served in Udupi joints. I, being a Mangalorian, prefer the Udupi style and hence rated the Matunga style low. So, an apology to all those who are die-hard fans of the Matunga sambhar, but I would still say that the Mangalorian sambhar is better :-) I thought of ending my breakfast with tea instead of the regular filter coffee. Well, the tea didn't live up to the mark and was average. However, it didn't dampen my overall experience. In terms of cost, it's in line with similar restaurants. So if you like Rava masala dosa and are fond of the good Udupi sambhar, this is the place you may want to visit.
