Let's start off with the positives. Ambience - tick, service - tick (thank you Sagar), presentation - tick, taste of food - tick. So what's the negative, you ask. Sadly, the sushi. So, so underwhelming. So bland. All you feel you are eating is poorly seasoned sticky rice. The dishes we really enjoyed were Papaya Salad, Pomelo Salad ( both salads were FAB), Tom Yum Soup, Prawns in XO Sauce (highly recommend), Pineapple Fried Rice ( couldn't believe how tasty this dish that doesn't sound tasty, really was!), Tuna Sashimi and Salmon Sashimi. Of course, I would be ready to return to this restaurant, but I doubt I would order the sushi.

We recently visited this picture-perfect restaurant located in the heart of Mumbai at Atria Mall, Worli. The restaurant was spacious, gave a classy vibe & had beautiful interiors!

What we tasted here:

1. Soups: We ordered the Tom Kha Soup & Spicy Mushroom Soup (+ Chicken) both the soups were an ideal start to the evening. It is always nice to consume something warm in the cold weather. The Tom Kha Soup was precisely as it was described- Creamy texture with the exotic flavour of coconut milk and lemongrass whilst the Spicy Mushroom Soup had generous amounts of Chicken & Shiitake Mushrooms.

2. Mocktails: We tasted a variety of Mocktails (unfortunately, it was a dry day so we were unable to get a taste of their cocktails) and they were all soothing and refreshing. We would recommend you to order the lemon or watermelon based one if you are looking for something to cool your system.

3. Truffle Spinach Parmesan Salad: This was one of the better salads we have eaten in a long time and would highly recommend it. Well, it was recommended to us by our server and we are glad we went forward with it. Very fresh and each bite had a crunch of the fresh leaves!

4. Sushis: Again, both, the Salmon Truffle + Cheese & California rolls were an absolute delight to our palettes. These 4 piece dishes were wiped out in no time.

5. Spicy Creamy Rock Shrimp: Deep-Fried to perfection and fabulously spiced- This was by far our favourite dish of the entire evening. Crunchy and Finger Sized in shape.

6. Mains: Thai Curry + Sticky Rice is always a safe bet especially when you are a restaurant named "Happy Thai" - This is an all-time favourite and this dish couldn't have been better! Creamy & rich in flavour. Apart from this we also ordered a portion of Pad Thai Noodles with Kal Phad Krapow Chicken & this was a delicious and spicy combination. Would rate this as our second favourite of the evening after the Shrimp.

7. Desserts: A perfect end to a lovely and rather filling meal was their Cheesecake- After really long we seem to have found a restaurant that serves a creamy and delightful Cheesecake. We also ordered (vegan) Coconut Ice-Cream.

To conclude, we had an absolutely delicious meal & thank our server for assisting us in the selection of dishes!

I am a connoisseur of South East Asian cuisine specially Thai and this place did not disappoint me even one single bit. We zeroed down on this place as a lunch date with my wife and kiddo daughter after a long time. This place is conveniently situated in the heart of Mumbai.
The place has got a vibrant vibe to it by the use of bright light and spacious arrangement. The other important criteria is the availability of child seat which helps us a lot these days. I must say this place has a very good collection of spirits. Specially for beer lovers like me, they have the Simba and Asahi available readily and also Sake. This makes me love this place more...lol...jokes we started our meals with the Tom Yum and the Tom Kha soup. Both these were made so authentic and the servers recommendation of adding mushrooms was just so perfect. We relished the soup and headed straight to the starters, they were the Crispy Honey Chicken, Yaki Tori Chicken and the Thai Chicken Spring Roll. The honey glazed chicken was so perfect, it tickled my taste buds and I knew we are at the right place to tickle them more. Our main was a hearty affair ordering Teriyaki Chicken, Japanese Ninja Katsu Curry and Jasmine Rice. We also ordered California Sushi Roll. After having all these, we were so satisfied souls we just couldn't have desserts even though we sincerely wanted to taste them.
On the service part, it was spontaneous and hardly any delays in getting the stuffs on the table. The servers were also friendly and very helpful to make us understand what exactly goes in all the dishes.
Overall, we were really satisfied and hope anyone who wishes to have a taste of the authentic Thai should make it here. You won't be disappointed one single bit...for sure!

Mind-blowing food with the warmest service sums up my experience at Happy Thai!

My friend who doesn't particularly like sushi now specially recommends more people to visit Thai for a sensational sushi experience

The soup was not super thick and not too watery either but just the right brew with ample meat and veggies - more like feel good food!

Thai green curry with rice was soul food... Indeed! Creamy and rightly flavored, this was a perfect way to call for mains

Totally recommend Happy Thai to everyone!

We had a good family dinner . The restaurant is spacious and the staff is courteous. The food was very good. The dishes we enjoyed were Tum yum prawn soup, the water chestnuts starter, the creamy spicy prawn tempura was awesome. The California sushi was good too. The main dishes like the bulgogi and crispy lamb with sticky rice cannot be missed
The only disappointment was pad Thai (very sweet) and creme brulee(tasted like some Indian dessert

It's on the lobby level when you enter the mall.Take a left, walk past Mizu and then take a right. What stands out is their interiors!Tropical and sleek and shiny. And above all its well lit!
Salmon Poke Tacos were good. The tacos were a bit industrial,a bit over fried. But the salmon, avo and the marination was refreshing and not over pow.
Chicken Kapow for the mains was perfect.Minced chicken, not oily, not too spicy(with just enough kick) and touches of basil.Went well with the Jasmine Rice.
They don't have a drinks menu but have the usual stuff like Cola's and so on.
For the ambience, the music was out of place and way too loud.I could use some softer, lower volume music to have a good conversation and enjoy the leafy, tropical interiors.

About the place-
Happy Thai is a fast dining restaurant serving Japanese and Thai cuisine and is located on ground floor at Atria Mall, Worli. This is a baby of entrepreneurship skills of Mr. Aditya Khilachand and Chef James Biaka.
The restaurant is simple yet casual with nicely spaced out tables, vertical greenery rows hanging from the ceiling.
We love Thai food and what else you want when you can start off you food with Japanese appetizers and then your favourite Thai main course which is just perfect for Indian palate, hence we decided to try this place out.

Our experience was truly amazing. We were welcomed by the staff & then guided to our table. Mr. Francis and Mr. Santosh helped us by explaining the menu and recommending us what to eat. They knowledge about the food and their experience in knowing our taste buds is just commendable.

The place has tables for two to big groups , with soft light & music in the background. Alcohol is not yet served here. In food Jain options are also available. What we had was majority of Jain food.

To sip on we ordered lemon Iced tea and peach iced tea. Both were good and were perfect to sip along with your food.

Avocado Roll:
This is one of the best Avocado roll we had. It was creamy and tasted amazing. Payal has developed a taste for sushi and rolls. She gave a thumbs up for this one. It tasted good with wasabi. Highly Recommended..!!

Creamy sweet corn tempura:
Crispy tempura made up of American corns and was drizzled with a creamy sauce. It will be loved by the one's who love sweet dishes.

Agedashi Tofu:
Three big deep fried cuboids of tofu which had a thin coating of starch from outside and was tender as well as soft from inside served in a hot tentsuyu broth. This simple yet divine dish was perfect which melted on tongue and the coating absorbed the flavours from the broath giving a umame flavours.

Crispy brussel sprouts:
A healthy salad made from crispy Brussel sprouts, sweet sauce and roasted almonds. The sauce and the crunch of almonds made the the salad delicious. Recommended..!!

Aromatic sweet green curry with Sticky Rice: (Jain)
How could we miss ordering a Thai curry at Happy Thai, so we called for one. It was rich, creamy and had exotic vegetables cooked in it. It was good to taste and goes best with sticky rice.

Desserts:
New york Cheese Cake:
This one was a classic baked cheese cake which was creamy and tasted delicious.

We also ordered ice cream scoops as we couldn't resist on it. The Dark belgium chocolate was amazing and had perfect amount of sweetness.

Tender coconut which is also a vegan option was totally natural. It actually tasted like coconut. It was different and good.

Happy Thai is a nice place to soothe your taste buds with some delicious food.

Located on the ground floor of Atria Mall.

Happy Thai serves Thai Food along with Japanese.

Ambience is elegant, spacious and decent, perfect for dining with family and friends.

The food we had here was truly amazing.

Started off with the TOM KHA SOUP and I must say that it was one of the best Soup we had after a really long time.

If you’re planning to try the salad then surely you must try the TRUFFLE SPINACH PARMESAN the truffle oil really changes the taste of such a simple salad.

Our recommendations-

-Crispy Tofu
-Cream cheese sushi

The quality of Paneer used in Paneer Satay could’ve been better.

Avocado lovers can try out the avocado sushi roll. It’s delicious.

In the main course we tried the Green Thai Curry.
Genuinely loved the quality of curry.

In desserts you should really try Chocolate Mud Cake.

Overall, good place to unwind with friends and family.
Also the service was flawless.

Went here for dinner recently and had a lovely experience. The food and service both is great! Looking forward to visit again to try more dishes.

We started with the Tom yum soup which was full of flavour and delicious. It wasn’t too spicy either so was perfect. The cream cheese sushi roll was super creamy and the sauces on top made the sushi amazing! It was definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The other sushi was the tempura roll which was also great but not as great as the cream cheese roll. My least favourite dish was the satay paneer as it lacked flavour but the peanut sauce served with it was absolutely delicious. We called for this separately as well and had it on almost everything. We also called for the crispy corn tempura which was super crunchy and tasted yum. Would definitely recommend this as well. We were pretty stuffed after this as portion size is pretty big so we didn’t opt for mains. For dessert they didn’t have the cheesecake so we only called for the mudcake. Although it wasn’t a actual mud cake like the name suggests, it was still good. I definitely want to go back to try the pad Thai and curry.

The servers were extremely polite and service was prompt. He suggested great dishes to us that we really liked. Although prices are on the steep side as we paid quite a bit without eating mains, it was worth it as we had a great meal.

Pan Fried Gyozas (Chicken)
Delicately encased generously stuffed, pan seared (partially charred) :( drenched in a saucy dressing this was yum.

Sipped on the Lemongrass ice tea well preped.
Ps: called for another beverage which did not reach the table, inspite of a reminder. Staff please pay heed..!

Kapow Chicken Basil (Kai Pad)
Chicken minced tossed in soy/oyester/fish sauce had a burnished look, lovely essence of basil, semi gravy comprising of the broth/sauces palatable found it a little chewy according to my palate, my partner enjoyed it (differs to every palate)

Penang Curry
Suave! Thick Peanutty gravy lovely essence, beaut consistency loaded with veggies, (Ps : Thai eggplant seeds in the curry, tiny bitter balls unusual yet palatable) pair it with jasmine rice and you are good to go!

Visited this place on a weekend and surprisingly it was quite empty but that worked well Cos the service was excellent and the food was served quickly, Sushi was good while the spring rolls disappointed, prawn tempura and the mains that we ordered were all excellent- tried the Thai curry, massaman curry and the Japanese ginger pork, the portions are small so it gives you a chance to sample more of their menu, could do with more choice on the desert menu, cheesecake was average

When it comes to Sushi and Seafood I have expectations and this restaurant totally lived up to it. Right from beautiful ambiance to friendly service and amazing food, Happy Thai scores a perfect 5/5.

Our evening began with a brief insight about the signature dishes by their restaurant manager who deserves a shout-out for his knowledgeable and friendly service.

We started off with something very unusual, Spinach Salad, but to my surprise it was delicious, the dash of Truffle Oil and Parmesan Cheese makes for a perfect combination of health and taste.
Next we tried out their Creamy Spicy Rock Shrimp and just like the name suggests its creamy and spicy, almost tastes like Cheetos doused in mayonnaise, worth trying out.

Now for my main reason  to visit Happy Thai.. Sushi. We began with 3 kinds of Maki rolls, Rock Shrimp Tempura, OMG and Salmon in Truffle oil rolls. I loved how all of them had a distinct texture and flavor, very impressed.

However what impressed me even more was their Carpaccio, we tried out the Yellow Tail and Tuna Tatakai variants and they blew my mind, the blend of spicy, sour and smoky flavors were to die for, the highlight of my visit to Happy Thai.

Stuffed and satisfied from the apptisers we decided to go with something small for mains and tried out their Alaskan Black Cod, the portion maybe tiny but the smoky bittersweet flavor and buttery soft texture will leave you satisfied.

Lastly we ended with Cheesecake and Mango Tart, again two dishes that hit the bullseye with flavor and texture, most importantly they were fresh, I have seen many fine dine restaurants skimp out on the freshness of desserts but not here.

Overall I had a memorable experience at Happy Thai and I would surely visit again, the manager surely made us feel at home.

Happy Thai, Happy Me, Cheers!

We had delicious food & an overall great time here. Sushi was excellent (we tried all sorts). the avocado cream cheese one was the best. main course thai curry was also very very good. portion size was quite generous. the best thing about Happy thai was that the food was well presented but not pretentious. Also love the ambience, with beautiful plants and a modern contemporary look. will surely be visiting again soon.

This new restaurant in Atria mall deserves 5 stars! The food was absolutely yummy - cannot pin point which was the most favorite as each of them were up to the mark.
We ordered the salmon sushi and chicken satay as starters - both were super. As they don't have an alcohol menu as yet - we went for the strawberry and cream tea - that yum smell wanted you to keep having more.
For the main course one is just spoilt for choice. We ended up ordering the aromatic sweet green curry with sticky rice, crispy tofu, tenanyaki fried rice, kapow chicken basil, Korean style bulgogi - each of the dishes were delicious.
Ended the meal with almond cake and Belgian dark chocolate ice cream.
A special mention for the lovely decor and all the green elements! Would definitely wanna come again to try the rest of that menu!

Our meal was dinner on 23rd June 2019. With the first thing that came, soup, there was A FLY in the soup!! Whats worse is upon calling the manager he didn’t even apologise once, he said ‘we didn’t do it on purpose.’ There were flies on the table too. To make matters worse, the manager KILLED A FLY ON THE TABLE by squashing it with a tissue in front of us.
Hygiene definitely seems to be a problem, and more than that service? How does a new restaurant not find it imp to apologise for a fly in someones soup? And how is a manager so untrained that when a complaint is made about many flies on the table, he kills it / squashes it on the table where the customers are to be eating?

A 4.5 Dining Experience.

Happy Thai is located on the ground floor of Atria Mall Worli and it is easy to locate.

This is the brainchild of renowned businessman Aditya Kilachand with Samir Chabria and celebrated Chef James Biaka.

The restaurant is spacious and the ambiance is super bright. Don't get confused about the logo as look it closely it is an elephant with a red star on his trunk and not a HA or HR alphabet. They have kept artificial plants on the ceiling which looks great and they have some real plants too behind the sofa seatings. Currently they don't have bar license so right now bar is not available however they have kept cafe section and live Sushi platforms so you can see how the sushi gets prepared and it is indeed an amazing experience. Tables are chairs are comfortable and options are great for all size of groups.

The menu mainly consist of Thai & Japanese dishes however some other Asian dishes are also available. The variety is great for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Prices are not too high as the quantity served plus quality of ingredients was excellent.

I went here for lunch and the kitchen service was great as the dishes were coming without any delays plus the table service offered was decent.

What We Had -
SOUP~
Spicy Mushroom Soup (Veg) -
Thin in texture. Mix of various beautiful looking mushrooms with hint of spiciness added tasted really good. I liked the taste plus it had amazing earthiness and it was super light for the appetite.

SUSHI~
Cream Cheese Roll -
Cream cheese with veggies rolled in seaweed, plus sticky rice topped with cream cheese again tasted brilliant. I loved this sushi as everything in it was great. The smooth cream cheese was super tasty.

Avacado Roll -
Avacado with veggies rolled in seaweed, plus sticky rice topped with finely sliced avacado tasted decent. The avacado was fresh and the veggies had nice crunch however a little tweak in taste is needed as all the elements used made it slightly bland.

Rock Shrimp Tempura Roll -
The epic dish served with a twist. The fresh shrimp with tempura coating were great however they have added little sweetness here and trust me it was just mind blowing.

APPETIZERS~
Ultimate Gyoza -
Veg dumplings generously filed with veggies and the thin covering was perfectly executed however it was served with a base of chilli, garlic and soy sauce which tasted very tangy so if you order this tell them to serve the sauce separately and not as a base if you are not a fan of tanginess.

Satay Chicken -
Superbly executed. Juicy chicken skewers with light spice marination served with peanut sauce tasted delicious. The chicken was great on all manner but the peanut sauce was outstanding as it was not sweet like other places hence I jist loved eating the satay with the peanut sauce.

MAINS~
Kapow Chicken Basil -
Minced chicken with garlic, red chillies and basil was flavourful and tasty to the core. The chicken was nicely done as it had juiciness plus the garlic & red chillies added right amount of taste without making the dish pungent plus the basil used made this dish unique and great.

Aromatic Green Curry (Prawns) with Sticky Rice -
Thai green curry with juicy jumbo fresh prawns served with sticky rice tasted great together. The coconut milk used was spot on, less on veggies as it had only beans and brinjal but prawns were the main highlight of the dish. The gravy goes really well with the prawns and eating this with the sticky rice was a complete delight.

DESSERTS~
Mango Tart -
Perfectly baked topped with fresh sweet mangoes. Taste wise really good as the creamy texture was delicious.

Almond Biscotti -
Sponge cake with orange essence and topped with a light layer of chocolate and almond tasted nice as it was not too sweet and the orange essence was just right.

So the meal at Happy Thai was a good experience and I enjoyed most of the dishes which I tried. Apart from food the ambiance is great for all occasions and the service offered was also perfect. Hence a visit here is recommended.

New Place Alert! Happy Thai - new restaurant serving Asian / Oriental cuisine with special focus on Thai and Japanese food. The moment you enter, you are welcomed with some fantastic interiors and warm smiling faces of the staff. Restaurant is located on level 0 of the mall close to Mustard.

Restaurant is the brain child of Mr Kilachand and Mr Sameer along with Chef James. They have done a fabulous job of bringing best of all Asian food under one roof. They have a live Sushi bar counter, so you can actually sit and experience your Sushi roll getting prepared in front of you!

Talking about what all I tried at Happy Thai -

We first started with some soups - Tom Yum and Tom Kha. Of the 2 I definitely preferred the Tom Kha soup because of the base being that of coconut. Best part is that coconut milk is freshly prepared and then cooked which gives an absolutely amazing flavour, mushrooms added to the taste and rich texture. Tom Yum soup needs a bit of correction I believe. Strong flavours of ginger and lime didn't work for me personally.

Moving on, we tried the Avocado Sushi Roll - absolutely brilliant. We saw the roll getting compressed and made in front of us. So amazing experience. Must try at Happy Thai with layer of cream and wasabi.

Next we had some appetizers - Edmame, Creamy Sweet Corn Tempura and Ultimate Gyoza. Of all, I would definitely recommend to try the Tempura! Especially those who like corn, taste really good and creamy. I personally felt Gyoza was slightly overcooked and had a strong burnt flavour. Edmame recommended for those who like eating green beans in salted pods. Edmame is a common ingredient used in Thai food so you will get a flavour of it in a lot of dishes.

I am honestly not a salad fan. However, the Truffle Spinach Parmesan Salad is something which is a must try here. Garnished with some dried lotus stems on top, the parmesan cheese makes the salad so tasty with spinach! Recommended!

Moving to the mains - we tried the Penang Curry with some sticky rice. As mentioned earlier, I love coconut based curry or preparations, so I personally loved this Malaysian dish. Tastes amazing with the sticky rice as well. We also tried the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Stir Fried Tofu & Cashew! Again loved the stir fried dish, so in case you don't like coconut, one can go for this option as your main.

Lastly for desserts - tried Almond Biscotti and New York Cheesecake. By far the best dessert and a must have shall be the Almond Biscotti served in a pastry or tart form. Must have. Cheesecake lovers can also give a shot to the later.

Had a great experience at Happy Thai. Since it has just been approx 10 days or so, could see the management of the restaurant closing interacting with all walk in customers and asking for their feedback. It was actually very heartening to see it and felt they are committed to turn this place into a big success! Here's wishing luck to this lovely place!!

Soup

Tom Yum soup -I tried veg version of Tom yum soup. This had lemongrass, thai red chilli peppers, minced garlic, veggies in it.

Between both soups i personally enjoyed their Tom kha soup.Do try it

Veg appetizers

Edamame-Edamame is Japanese appetizer.Young salted green soybeans which are still in pod and not matured ones. They were extremely soft and edible.

Mains

Curry

Penang curry (veg)-A nice attempt.Light coconut milk, curry powder, tomato paste and peanut butter used in preparation of this curry .Could be prepared a little better i feel

Must try .

Just a perfect way to end my meal at HappyThai

Happy Thai - Feel Good/Happy ambiance. #Newopening at Atria mall (Ground Level) Serves Thai/Japanese and a bit of Asian. Cuisine. Menu - conceived. Basically Comfort food. Just a week old baby - needs some fine tuning (food and the flavours) Service is top notch. Let's get to what we tried:

Tom Yum - a type of Hot and Sour. Usually cooked with shrimps we asked for the vegetarian. Broth was delicious/Lemon grass/Kaffir lime/Galangal/Lime and vegetables/chilli peppers. A tad salty i felt. Texture good. Taste - Spicy (That's how it's supposed to be)

Tom Kha Kai - Or call it Thai coconut is basically a spicy hot and sour soup with coconut milk. Asked for the prawns. Justice done. Balance of Thai flavours (Galangal/Kaffir) spot on Mushrooms went well. Texture good. Taste - Spicy.

Avocado Roll - Compressed, done well. Do try it with the wasabi (they import it from Japan)

ROCKSTAR SHRIMP TEMPURA - (some places call it Dynamite Prawns) Crispy fried Shrimps coated in mayo sauce (tangy and spicy taste) Placed on Fresh lettuce. Batter fried to perfection. Blend of Ginger/honey/vinegar/mayo/paprika. Had a good glaze (Texture) Taste - Tangy/mildly spices/a tad sweet cause of honey. Perfect appetizer.

Rock shrimp Tempura roll - maybe a mistake in ordering. Basically a sushi topped with Shrimp tempura. Could have asked for another dish.

Green papaya salad - could have been better. Missing the Thai flavours and the Punch. Hit of Bird eye missing and the Nutty touch (Chef's please look into it)

YELLOWTAIL HAMACHI (CARPACCIO) wow this was a beauty. Their signature dish. Thinly sliced yellowtail sprinkled with Tobiko/sesame/jalapeño. Maybe a pit of Ponzu sauce. This had the punch and flavours.

Zucchini Carpaccio - loved the presentation. Killer of a dish. Flavours/Punch/balance. Correct combination of Ponzu. Some Reddish which went well. Garnished with micro greens. Overall fantastic.

Morning Glory - (Pad Pak Boong Fai Daeng) one of the tastiest i have had in recent times. This is THAI. Garlicky with a bit of Thai chillies, oyster sauce and soy. Stir fried to perfection. Could be had with jasmine rice. Loved the texture (crunchy garlic) Taste - subtle to slightly hot. Go for it.

SALMON TATAKI - another clever dish made by the chef. Kept it simple. Let the flavours speak for it. Basically seared salmon drizzled with citrus soy dressed with Microgreens and edible flower. Loved it.

KARPOW CHICKEN BASIL - simple yet classy. Finely chopped chicken with minced garlic/shallots and chillies. Glazed with soy/oyster/coconut and chicken broth. A bit of bird eye to give that slight hit. Basil got the flavours and aroma. Overall a lovely dish.

PAD SEE EW - difference is here they use flat noodles. Also known as Drunken noodles. A bit dry i felt. Garlic/fresh chillies and Thai basil could not give this dish a wow factor. (Chef's please look into it)

Tom Yum Fried Rice with Stir Fried Tofu & Cashew - perfect combination. Nice texture and balanced it well. Treat for the vegetarians.

Mains - Jungle Massaman Lamb curry - Lamb cooked well. Curry missed out on the wow factor. Missed out on the flavours. Got a monotonous taste. (Chef, you again come into the picture)

Penang Curry - made up for the Massaman curry. Perfect. Velvety texture. Balance of flavours was spot on. It's like a Thai curry but a bit thick at the same time salty and sweet with a peanut touch. Place of origin is Thailand. Balance of lemon grass/kaffir lime (zest) was perfect. Good hit from the dried chilli peppers. Overall lovely. Went perfect with Rice.

To end we had the Mango Tart - Crust was good with the middle layer had custard topped with mango. Yum.

Overall - Let this place settle down. Bet another feather in the cap at Atria mall. Not priced heavy. All the best guys. Cheers.

The newly opens Happythai is indeed a happy place. With all the greens around gives a very positive vibe to the restaurant. The staff is very courteous. The manager himself gave us recommendations and the food was good.
The owner personally spoke to us and asked for reviews. Overall pleased with the place.
We ordered:
The veg gyoza
The very crispy sushi
Their must order the spinach Parmesan and truffle salad.
The crispy corn kernel
And the pad Thai which I wasn’t wowed by it was a little peanutty.

One lazy Sunday after the customary brun-eggs-sausage breakfast, I was browsing the newspapers. And what should I come across but a review in Mint Lounge of the newbie Asian restaurant, Happy Thai! Like a sign from the Gods. The sun was shining (unrelentingly so, no sign of rain) and the stars were clearly aligned just right. I dialled the restaurant and managed a table at get-go! Just like that! No customary – “We are fully booked” (even with half the tables unoccupied!) spiel that seems to have become the standard issue launch marketing.

A simple and fun place to eat. Prices are not too high for the quality they serve. We had a little bit of everything and they are rated from average to very good. I would go again. The desserts were good too. Just one caveat, it has more Japanese dishes than Thai. That worked for me. 🙂

Our recommendations- -Crispy Tofu -Cream cheese sushi The quality of Paneer used in Paneer Satay could’ve been better.

Pan Fried Gyozas (Chicken) Delicately encased generously stuffed, pan seared (partially charred) :( drenched in a saucy dressing this was yum. Sipped on the Lemongrass ice tea well preped. Ps: called for another beverage which did not reach the table, inspite of a reminder. Staff please pay heed..! Kapow Chicken Basil (Kai Pad) Chicken minced tossed in soy/oyester/fish sauce had a burnished look, lovely essence of basil, semi gravy comprising of the broth/sauces palatable found it a little chewy according to my palate, my partner enjoyed it (differs to every palate) Penang Curry Suave! Thick Peanutty gravy lovely essence, beaut consistency loaded with veggies, (Ps : Thai eggplant seeds in the curry, tiny bitter balls unusual yet palatable) pair it with jasmine rice and you are good to go!
