Our Review: 5 / 5
Tharu Sweets is age old family businesses which are known to serve authentic Sindhi sweets. Their business goes back to year 1920. The pioneer of their business is Seth Mukhi Tharu who discovered his interest in making and selling sweets in the pre-independence era. His journey began at the ‘dakh bazaar’ in a small village of Shikarpur, situated in the Sindh province of Pakistan. They used to manufacture and sell sweets under the name “Nanu Tharu” along with their partner. The place is so famous is that they have some international customers too who specially come here to take their sweets. One most unique thing about this place is that they deliver their sweets all over India. Coming to their sweets, they have their special Sunday Menu which includes Sindhi Curry and Dal Pakwan which are special recipes which are inherited from their ancestors which runs out super quick so make sure you reach there early. Other most recommended sweets are Sev Barfi which is a best seller over years and is a signature mithai preffered by all ages something which has lasted over decades for its taste. The service was super quick. Overall it’s the most recommended place for Sindhi sweets lover and a perfect after dinner dessert option.

Have been eating their mithai since childhood.
Love their Sev Barfi, Motichoor Ladoos, Gheer and the Almond Pista Halwa...
They have the best sindhi sweets...
And other things too.
I love love their stuff.😍👌👌
One stop for delicious mithai would be Tharu. They have all varieties of mithai which are absolutely mouth watering and fresh. Sev barfi, kaju katli, milk barfi, motichur laddoo, pedas.. are some of the things I would advise you all to try.
If you are fan of Sindhi sweets and love it, then this is the best place for you. It's small restaurant to buy sweets.. Sindhi Sev ki mithai (Singar mithai) and Gulab Jaamun are the best buy.. Full of Desi ghee and yummy taste.. Highly recommend this place to enjoy with your family and friends.
Yummy and delicious sindhi sweets available here. You can indulge on some of the Sindhi food also. Sindhi curry sold here by the litre. Must try atleast once.
My entire family and I are super big fans of Tharu’s “sev ka halwa”. I alone can eat a whole kilo of this halwa in a single day!! The dal pakwan is unique too!!
Love their Mawa /Milk Cake. It’s awesome. Would definitely recommend it to everyone and would again go back to enjoy their lovely stuff. 👌👍
Tharu Mukhi Bandhar is located at Khar West right opposite Oriental palace hotel and attracts a family crowd. It is one of the most popular and old sweet shops in the area where they serve traditional desi ghee delicacies.
If you are a fan of sweets and food items made in desi ghee you must visit this place as it has a variety of amazing deserts and some traditional sindhi food items. Since childhood I have visited this place especially to eat aaloo tikki and chole it's one of my favourite as the aaloo tikki is very crispy and nicely fried from the outside and inside there is a very good filling of chana dal semi spicy mixture with some dry fruits in the centre. The Chole served here is little dark in color but it has great flavours of the traditional Indian spices. Their Sev Barfi is one of the most best selling sweet, they also serve Pista halwa, Mahn ka ladoo, Malai peda, Balushahi, dal pakwaan, sindhi curry, gulab jamiun etc... which are all delicious. The Owners and staff are also very nice. Only the prices can be better as compared to other sweet shops it's little expensive. There is also a small wooden bench seating outside incase you want to have any quick bites here.
My Experience
Taste: Delicious
Crowd: Family
Staff: Good
Service: Quick
Ambience: OK
Quantity: Decent
Quality: Great
Parking: Not Available
Price: Moderate to Expensive
Overall Value for Money: 5*/5 (as I have very fond childhood memories of this place)

Who doesn't like being gifted a box or two full of Indian sweets! I hadn't heard of Tharu Sweets until last night when a family member got 2 boxes of kaju katri and a pack of rabdi from there.
The kaju katri vanished within minutes of opening the box. Needless to say, they were yummy! There were 2 types in it. One with saffron and one sans it. I liked the saffron one a little more than the non saffron one.
Next was rabdi. One spoon and you'll take off to paradise. Thick, rich, creamy, just the right amount of sweetness with a dash of dry fruits. This is what completes any meal. *MUST TRY*
Both, the kaju katri and rabdi came neatly packed. Plus points for that.
I cannot comment on the pricing or the service since this goodness came to my doorstep as a gift. The taste wow-ed me, so I'll definitely drop by to have some more.
The best place for any sindhi to hog on a sunday for those delicious juicy pattices & dal pakwaans. A bit expensive for one person but worth the expense.
Best dishes are :- Dal pakwaan, Pattice, All possible sweets
Try out the Sev Burfi one of the best, not unnecessarily sweet. The place may not have a huge variety but one can can swear on the quality of the sweets you will get here
FLOWN IN FROM INDIA: MUMBAI
Someone brought in Sev Barfi from here, on his way back. It was made in pure ghee and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Yummy!! ☺☺☺
People who Really love Authentic Indian Sweets , this is The perfect place to Buy it, this place is near to Khar Social & Its a Old Shop Don't go by the looks of it, Try their piping Hot Gulab Jamun its really worth trying & the taste is Heavenly.
Tharu - sweets, I should say, it is not only a sweet shop, even the hospitality, the gestures and the staff is also sweet. My friend from Jakarta, wanted sweets only from Tharu, but had no time to pick up, and I just called up Tharu, with no expectations of delivery from them, (as my friend was staying in hotel in parel) the manager said yes madam, we will deliver, and we know how to pack for international tourists, you be relaxed, and he gave me time and 15min before time my friend received the delivery. Amazing Amazing Amazing. Way to go team.
Good sweets. Tried sev barfi and Malai chap. Unique mithais and taste authentic. We also tried rabri which was good. A bit heavy on the pocket but can be visited once in a while. The outside of the store doesn't look very clean and can let you down for a while, but inside it's clean and well maintained.
Walk in here for an experience in savoring Sindhi sweets and their generous sampling quantity!
The shop is off S V Road at the corner of the lane opposite to the road leading to Khar West railway station.
The Sev Barfi (₹800/kg) is a sweet melt-in-the-mouth experience, made from the regular sev we usually associate with dry quick bites and condiments.
The Toffee Halwa (₹1300/kg) is a little bit of a challenge to the teeth but equally delightful to chew on for a while.
The shop is very ordinary but the staff is helpful, the prices here are apparently by the locality standard but in the while, a place I'd visit again for a little different experience in indulgence.
Being partially Sindhi, can never get off this place. Couldn't resist the aroma of ghee dripping sweet on the street of khar where i landed to buy sweet during the festival of Holi. A small sweet shop that has mindboggling sweets. The famous ones being Singar ki mithai (sev barfi), pista mithai, on Holi the sindhi speciality Gevar and kesar jalebis. Also, there arevmava samosas that are amazing. There is a dry fruit halwa purely maid in ghee and costs 1200 a kg. They also have chaat items served in evenings. Sev barfi is my favourite and with no doubt worth trying. It costs 800rs kg and gevar is 100 rs per piece. Quite expensive sweets but i love the taste.
Soo i had noo idea about this place. We were gifted a box of Pragri and it was sooo good that i felt it definitely deserved a review. This sweet was crisp on the outer side, topped with pistachios and had a mava filling inside.
Superb quality and excellent taste...!
Tharu Sweets Mukhi Bhandar is one of the most famous joints for sweets. I had visited it's head branch in khar west. I tried sev barfi, boondi and gulab jamun. They are priced at Rs. 800 per kg, Rs. 600 per kg and Rs. 20 per piece respectively. All of these sweets taste extremely delicious especially the sev barfi. #love
A great and consistent place to pick up a wide variety of mitais. We have a lot of overseas guests who frequently ask for us to pick up sweets from here. They are freshly made and always of good quality. Big variety with some seasonal specials. Overall a place where you know anything you pick up will taste good!

I have practically grown up eating all the Indian sweets from Tharu & its safe to say most Sindhi's prefer Tharu over any other mithai shop. Trust me when I say this, Tharu's Mithai's is famous among the Sindhi community not just in Mumbai but overseas too. On not one but plenty occasions I have seen families carrying back neatly packed boxes of mithai to give relatives back in Dubai & other places. This one is definitely a family favourite & we absolutely love everything they offer. Personal favourites have to be the Sev Barfi, Pista Barfi, Kaju Katli, Pista Roll, Malai Peda & Special dry fruit Halwa. Also if you are in the mood to indulge in authentic Dal Pakwan, head there on a sunday morning when they serve you hot or pack it up for you. I am not sure if you get it on all days, as we personally have only on occasional Sundays. All in all, Tharu is definitely a place to get your dosage of some finger licking good mithai.

One of the iconic sweet shops in Khar. Their quality of sweets is really rich and juicy. They are famous for their dry fruit items and the mava and dry fruits used by them are of the highest quality. My personal favourite item here is the Sev Barfi which is just yummy and has an amazing aroma. A breakfast item that cannot be missed is the Daal Pakwaan which is perfect and a must try. Since in live in a Sindhi neighbourhood have grown up having sindhi food items. Really excited to know that a Tharu is openinig up in Chembur which i will visit soon. Staff is good and helps you out with sweets. A must try for sweet lovers.
Tharu is one of best places for rich quality Sweets. Its been there for years, and there regular customers know about there quality and taste. They use the best quality dry fruits whole heartedly. Although they are on the costlier side, still it is a paradise for sweets lovers. Nobody can beat there kaju katli and triple pista halwa.
There Dal Pakwan is a must try. Available on sanday mornings .
Sev Burfi is loved by most of the Sindhi customers.
This is the place where we usually get sweets for many occasions...
They have variety of sweets...and have few that are seasonal too..i.e some sweets are available during some festivals. They use better quality ingredients... dryfruits than other sweet shops..No doubt they also charge much than others.
They also have some sindhi special food like Dal pakwan, sindhi kadi, chole tikki,etc....
Worth a try.
This place is the best for kajju katli... the diamond shaped sweet . It's all made in rich ghee . And it's mouth watering . And you will just wait to get out of the shop and eat what you have bought ...
Single outlet doing wonders from years. So they don't have seatinf available nor they have ambience like other branded sweets bt they have got sweets to die for. Be it their kaju katli or dry fruit chikki or barfi or pista cake, they can't be matched by any other place wch can be the reason they are bit expensive than other places. Their pattice, dal pakwan n other snacks comes from house of sindhis but loved by all.
Tharu is an age old establishment that sells sweets in Khar (near the RTO Chowky if entering from SV road side, Khar Telephone Exchange from the Linking Road side).
However, my main draw was the Dal Pakwan which is prepared and served on Sundays; previously had the Sindhi Curry which is pretty good.
Now, my memory of the Dal Pakwan harks back to the good 'ol days of Kailash Parbat in Pasta Lane, Colaba. Recently, I had forgotten all about it.
The Pakwan here was served hot n crispy fried in Desi Ghee, and was immensely tasty. The Dal, on the other hand, was subtle, and acted as the perfect foil to the Pakwan. What's awesome is that these two taste totally different on their own, and have another sort of taste dimension when eaten together. They are superb as singles, dynamite as a couple.
I highly recommend this breakfast at Tharu and you should make it a point to try out if in the area. If not, just get off your lazy @sses on and come grab a bite!
Seriously bhaio yaha paisa wasool hai ye log jo methai banate hai wo 100% pure hai aur ek baar try zaroor karna bohat famous hai.
Dry fruit se bhari hui sweets.
Nice and famous for Sindhi sweets and a good collection of different types of sweets. They also serve Sindhi curry and dal pakwan on Sunday morning. Well worth trying out their sweets like sev barfi, dry fruit barfi, special chikki, etc.
Sindhi special sweets shop at khar and now they opened its branch at Borivali west .yesterday I went there to purchase pista badam halwa which was 1000/-rs. per kg. It was yummy and they give me discount also. I am happy with staff'spolite nature .
Usually not very fond of sweets but tried special sindhi mithai sev or singhar mithai of this sweet shop...the mithai was awesome...i have had sev mithai of alot of places but never tasted like tharu's mithai...It was totally like halwa...melting in mouth
My All time favourite spot for desi mithai😍😍😋😋. I have tried each and every type of mithai served here. Whenever I pass by I make sure i have atleast gulab jamun, rasgulla or jalebi. This place is irresistibly for me😍. And very hygienic
Best sev halwa ever! All sweets are made using pure ghee and sev halwa is like one of the specialties they have in their menu and is the best!
Very surprised to see a sweet shop here. A very very famous sweet shop in khar especially during holi, you need to wait atleast half an hour to get ghevar but they are absolutely worth it! My personal favourite is their sev barfi, ghevar, jalebi and other dry Sindhi sweets. Just mind boggling!
Very surprised on the presence of Tharu on zomato. Have been going here since i was a kid and possibly the best mithai shop for Sindhi sweets. The sew barfi and kaju barfi are to die for. They prepare the mithai in fresh ghee, sinful but awesome. Prices are on the higher side though, sew barfi is approx 860 for a kg. The tikki can be given a try as well.
Amongst the best for Sindhi mithai such as Sev barfi, kaju katli, pista katli, Gulab jamuns etc.. The place looks as if it has never been renovated.. But the mithai is too good
I loved the Rabdi Falooda at Jhama Sweets. Highly recommended place for people visiting any outlet in entire mumbai and the video says for itself
They also have some good Indian sweets like Shahi tukda, halwa, gulab jamuns, etc
Nice place for sweets. They have a huge range. During season they also make fresh carrot halwa which is absolutely delicious. They have a live falooda counter outside as well. A must try place either as a standalone visit or if you are hitting camp for a food trail.
One of the oldest sweet shop in Mumbai….you can taste variety of sweets there. Ice halwa or Mumbai halwa is their specialty. Authentic tastes must go place. Like the taste.
Jhama Sweets , located at Chembur camp. Mumbai.
Jhama is a famous Sindhi sweet store , been there in business since ages.
They are famous for their Gulab jamuns and many more mithai’s . They also serve chaat and namkeens.
During Holi they sell the famous Gheer, which is specifically made during the 3 days of holi festival.
Give this place a try when in Chembur .
The staff is a bit slow , service can be better .
A perfect place to have Delhi food in Mumbai. I was drawn to this place due to reviews by Anushka and Virat.
We had amritsari chole kulcha and it was really tasty, the place really lives up to it's name for the food it offers. On weekends there could be a lot of rush, plan your outing accordingly
Well laid out, Well organised, wide variety of sweets savouries and snacks. Attentive staff and the best Quality food stuff. The only issue is parking, since it is located in a busy and congested area.

Seating / ambience / vibe is good and cozy. Among all (refer pictures) that I ordered, tender coconut pistachio geleto cheesecake ice cream was the best. Had thin sliced peach on the top and it just lifted the taste.
All time favourite for vegetarian treat!!
This place is located in Dadar West close to shivaji park.
This place has bundle of memories. It serves best Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.
My most favourite dishes are:
1. Spicy corn tortilla soup
2. Garlic bread with herbs and cheese
3. Hot garlic wok with fried rice
4. Hummus and pita bread
Although it equally known for pizza and pasta.
The place makes best cakes especially mango cake (seasonal) and Blueberry cheesecake are must try.
One can also try macrons and different types of breads and chocolates.
The place is nice and cozy the staff is friendly and sometimes the chef comes to you aks you if you need any dish to be customised.
Great place for foodies.
Have a great meal folks!
This is one of the amazing place I have been to for sweets.
They have a loads of variety of chhena sweets, gulabjamun, some creatively good looking mawa sweets and a way lot more.
Also the chaat section is refreshing (pani-puri, dahi puri, and what not).
You can also find a wide variety of snacks and freshly made gajar halwa in winters.
PS: They do not accept upi; so you must carry cash/card.
Have been visiting this restaurant for past 15 years. Each visit is a treat. The menu is constantly upgraded. There is variety. The ingredients are delightful. Each dish is prepared fresh and with care. Since ingredients are fresh, no attempt to mask any flavours. They are liberal in the use of cheese and don't substitute one particular variety of cheese with cheaper quality. I was disappointed with the pizza, but drinks were refreshing, starters brilliant. Choose which ever dish you care to, you won't go wrong
The quality of sweets is fantastic especially their Gajar Halwa & Gulab jamun. The only problem is they don't accept online payments . You can only pay with cash or card.
Loved everything about the place. Its cute & cozy. The breads are just too gooooood. The food is absolutely authentic with rich flavors & rich toppings. Ahh. Just devoured all the items. Rather, literally just gulped everything because it was really good!
Jhama Sweets, India is a halwai place where we can get best kaju katlis. They serve fresh mithais straight from their kitchen. The taste is also good. Spread over all over Mumbai, Jhama Sweets is an amazing brand for mithais, namkeen and sweets. Also they've good crowd therein. Do visit once for a sweet experience! <3
