We visited this place few days back with office colleagues. We tried bangda fry, mandeli fry, soup, anda masala, chicken handi with roti & naan. Will recommend Sol kadhi to have after dinner or lunch. Food quality was good but quantity was less as per price. Service needs to be quick. Infrastructure can be improved. Overall you can visit this place with friends or family which is near to vikroli railway station.

What a place to explore sea food that's too at fairly lesser cost.
A long standing sea food joint which is serving consistent taste over a decade at least which I am aware of. Offers delicacies of carbs, prawan, pomfret, surmai, bombil etc in a typical malwani style preparation with awesome combination of spices.
Though this place is a bit difficult to reach, while going down towards Vikhroli station from LBS road doesn't offer any disappointment at all while dining here. Do ensure to park your vehicle on LBS as the approach road is quite narrow and doesnot have any parking space.

Our family loves seafood, and this place totally fits the bill. Excellent service and of course the food was perfect. I particularly enjoyed the Rawas Thali along with a Mutton Kheema. The vade’s felt quite different, loved them.

Food is quite good. Though might be crowded at times so service can be delayed at times. I would personally recommend crab masala. Surmai and rawas are cooked quite good!! Chicken I haven't tried here 😅 and I would say if you are going to visit here just stay on sea food...
If u wanna feel and taste the malvan food you must visit the restaurant named as MALVAN SAMUDRA. Till now the best sea food and non-veg restaurant I had visited. This place is know for its THALI from chicken thali to prawns thali from crab thali to ravas thali. They also have Chinese cuisine and they too taste well.

I’ve been going to this place since forever and I can vouch I’ll never be bored of it. The dishes my family and I order are pretty standard and have been the same for a long time now. The place is well known for seafood, so as soon as we enter the place, Koliwada and Bombil fry is the first thing we order. Post that we choose which Thali to indulge in. We mostly choose from Prawn, Surmai or Halwa. So a Thali has the chosen fish in a fry preparation and also its curry served with chapati and rice. Also sometimes we go for Tisrya masala which tastes heavenly! End it with a solkadi and there you go with the most perfect and an extremely cheap meal:)

Great place to try Fish a d Chicken Thali. I am working nearby so this is my regular place for lunch with colleagues. Ambience is little shady and they have long waiting line on weekends but it's worth it because food they serve is scrumptious.

I had heard about this place. We were unsure about the visit because of the mixed reviews but I would say if you want to have Malvani taste do visit here.
It is near Vikhroli station (West) at a walking distance of 5 mins. They have different ac non ac sections.
Food:
1. Chicken lollipop: 4/5. 6 pieces
2. Chicken wade and Rice Bhakri: Bhakri was perfect. 4/5
3. Mutton Kheema: Tasted good. But quantity is too low for the price. Hardly sufficient for two people and hence 3/5
4. Halwa fry: 3 pieces. One large two small. The fish was fried just right. Was fresh. Tasted good. But again the size of the fish makes the dish expensive. 3/5
5. Surmai fry: We liked halwa a lot hence decided to order this. This disappointed us a lil. The fish was overcooked I suppose. It seemed a lil tough and chewy. They serve 2 pieces. 3/5
6. Kokam kadi : 4/5
Ambience: Nothing great just a normal place. The resto has a fishy smell. If that doesn't bother you, you are good to go.
Service: One of the waiters was a lil grumpy. Otherwise order comes to your table pretty quickly.
Value for money: The portions they serve for the price are too less and hence 3/5
Would I visit again?? Yes! Food comes first for me.

I work very close by to this place and this has been our most favorite place rather outlet to eat some yummy and economical seafood. I swear by the rawas fry thali and the amazing amazing prawn fry. Nothing beats this deadly combination. Everytime I've had the rawas it was always fresh and in the thali you get 4 huge chunks of pieces coupled with rice bhakri. More than enough to keep your drowsy till evening :). And along with that to quench your thirst you have this super slurpy pinkish and fresh solkadhi. I have also tried the surmai fry but it was not up to the mark. So rawas n prawn fry a must try guys!!! And the thali is only 280 bucks.. So don't even think twice If your anywhere near by vikhroli

Malvan Samudra - Awesome place for sea food lovers and they serve good chicken dishes too. I have been there many times to eat Fish like Surmai, Pomphret and Prawns. They serve Thali system also which is uncommon in Mumbai but worth to try. In the starters you can try Chicken Lollypop or Paneer Manchurian, another mouth watering dishes serve by them, Overall review is good service and simple but clean ambiance with variety tasty dishes.
It's an amazing place for catching some lip smacking sea food in an authentic konkani cuisine. The pricing is reasonable with great portions and the place has a better ambience after the renovation. Outdoor seating option is available too.
This restaurant is very busy and occupied. There are lots of waitings so you must think how good this place may be for sea food lovers. I've recently went there and as i mentioned it was fully occupied and i had to wait in waitings. There are lots of waitings. Sea good is delicious. Very fresh and tastes very yummy. The moment you enter inside the restaurant, you'll smell those sea food scent. A very nice place to head for sea food. I've mentioned in my other sea food restaurants review, I'm very particular when it comes to sea food. So when i say this place actually serves very fresh sea food, it gotta be true. Ravas fry was too fresh and good on taste. Likewise Prawns fry were also nice. Definitely you can taste the freshness. However chicken in the thali was dry..so chicken can be avoided. But seafood is must. Hidden gem for seafood lovers and simple yet tasty food

Malvan Samudra is one of the oldest restaurants in Vikhroli (West) specially known for its authentic sea food and Indian food. It's taste was great especially it's sea food. Good Ambiance and you can visit here with family and friends. They serve Malvan cuisine as well as chinese and others. The specialty is Bombil chilly. I also ordered bheja fry. It was awesome. They got many fish and chicken dishes as well as mutton.
But when we visited the last time the results were disappointing and the taste was not good as always. We ordered Chicken Handi and ended up regretting because first of all the prices were too high and chicken handi was eventually tasteless, it was not even spicy , no salt was added to it. Before main course we ordered Chicken Crispy too but it's taste was average. With chicken we ordered wade and bhakris they we good as it doesn't need anything miracle to make good bhakris and wade. We expected main course to be tasty but it wasn't. But still if you are willing to visit this place you should take a chance. Surely try their Solkadhi with main course and they vary with many fish thalis and chicken thalis.

Been going to this place for more than a decade. Simple, no-frills eatery with emphasis on food, which is the star here. Full marks for consistency of taste, especially for seafood. The bombil fry is outstanding along with Solkadi. Spot on malvani food without burning a hole in your pocket.
We are visiting this place from almost 10 years whenever we have to eat Non Veg.
Ambience: They restaurant doesn't have attractive ambience or decoration. It has AC sitting and also outdoor sitting. Outdoor sitting is not preferable now as there many construction work going on around.
Food: We had Chicken Crispy and Paneer 65. The taste was good. Chicken Thali with Kombadi Wade and the taste was awesome. Fish plate was also good but sometimes the size of fish is small.

I visited this place for seafood and liked it because I was expecting much more...i ordered pompret thali which comes with one bowl of sol kadi, one bowl of rassa, 1 bhakri or chappati(depend on your preference),1 bowl rice and pompret which i deep fried....it was good.
When I ordered Pompret koliwada it too had the same taste. Price wise it was okay, I pad 370 for thali and 310 for koliwada....surmai thali too cost approximately the same.
One should try if craving for malvani food.
This hotel is located in vikhroli area and very easy to reach by ola or any other transport . This hotel serves best seafood as well as they do have variety like chinese food . The prices quoted here are pretty disant and affordable . They do have outdore sitting as well as indoor air-conditioned seating no extra charges for ac the charges will be same for both. The quality of food is really nice and tasty . They do maintained great hospitality and hygiene . And seating is comfortable for every age group . Max to max they can arrange table for group of 10 to 15 people . So it's perfect for large group. So far there best dish as per my opinion is chicken kaleji thali which is really tasty which you must try .
I am a fish lover and dining at this joint is a complete next level experience. The thalis, the tawa fry and the fish biryanis, you have them all under one roof and the sol kadi just ensures your filled to the brim. I would suggest it is a must go always for your sea food cravings 😋

Hotel is good, ambiance is also fine. This hotel is near vikhroli railway station towards west side. Here food serve has good touch of kokan taste. You can find good sea food there. Taste is not so malvani but some part of kokan is sure. The herbs and garam masala uses by the chief is proper as they are not so spicy or bland. Cost wise its normal. The rice bread (bhakari) is typical agri style. Sol kadi which is the heart of malvani food is fine, you can love it. Chief has tried to make fusion of kokan an Chinese food I.e. Bombil chilli which is good. Chinese food served is ok as taste is good.
Food here is good and ambience is good too. Quality of the food is good along with quantity. But yeah the Surmai thali which we tried wasn’t good since Surmai piece wasn’t good also one more thing one of the staff was bit arrogant in terms of service and was getting annoyed upon being asked about any food related stuffs if this could have been handled well by the owner then its a 4 on 5 restaurant.
