Sujata is very difficult to locate becos of the barricades placed for metro construction.
It was raining heavily and amongst all the choas i sighted sujata.

There was dal, sabji, roti,chawl, curd, papad and the end it all there was gulab jamun.
The misal with pav was spicey and upto my liking.
The kanda bhaji piping hot apt in the rains accompained by mint chutney and tomato ketchup and gunpowder chutney.
For drinks we ordered piyush which is simliar to lassi but made out of srikhand.
The kokum sherbat was jus wow.
At sujata one will surely feel the marathi touch

आज बर्याच दिवसांनी सुजाता उपाहार गृहात जाऊन मराठी जेवणाचा आनंद घेतला. ऑफिस मधून सात जण गेलो होतो. भाकरी मिळाली नाही, पण पोळी, डालिम्बी उसळ, झुणका, कांद्याची भाजी, कोथिंबीर वाडी, श्रीखंड, आमरस, मसाले भात वर ताव मारला. शेवटी सगळ्यांची फर्माईश म्हणून दुधी हलवा मागितला. पण एवढ्या छान जेवणाचा शेवट एकदम खराब झाला. दुधी हलव्यामध्ये खावा बहुतेक न्हवताच किंवा एकदम नावाला असेल. गोडी ला पण एकदम कमी. सगळा हिरमोड झाला. बिल देऊन बाहेर पडताना कॅशियर ला सांगितले तर त्याने एकदम निर्विकार चेहेरा ठेवला. जसा काही तो त्या गावाचाच नाही. आमच्या पैकी एकाने पुरण पोळी मागितली, तर ती नव्हती म्हणून सांगितली गेली. बाहेर बघितले तर गुल पोळी व तेल पोळी available होती. वेटर ने ते सांगायची पण तसदी घेतली नाही. जाऊन द्या. पण आमरस छान दिला आम्हाला जेवणात.

I am satisfied with the Quality and taste of the items from sujatas Kitchen, and also the delivery is prompt, I have to suggest one fact , the Quantity of farsan supplied with misal is very less compared to the quantity of usal it should be doubled.
Ordered today from this restaurant.. FARALI MISAL... Their taste is amazing.... Just the typical maharashtrian food...misal was in good quantity n great in taste... The only problem was the packing... They gave it in freshwrap wrapper... Being at work it's difficult to have it in dt...hd to arrange fr a container to pour the curry... Cud hv been bttr if gvn in some container... Just this issue otherwise great taste 😍👍
For Authentic Maharashtrian food one must visit Sujata. Mini Thali one must try. Zhunka -Bhkari is speciality. Also during Ganpati festival they do serve Steamed Modak. Navarang Usal is also a speciality of Sujata Hotel.
While I've given this place a 5-star - my review here is going to be very limited.
It was the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi - I had still not eaten ukadiche modak this year - and I was craving for it... after making a few calls, I was asked to call these guys as they make it every year.
Now I've eaten ukadiche modak at a couple of places in the past, but the ones from Tambe - were simply brilliant.
I've decided that I am definitely going to go back and try some of their Maharashtrian dishes... something that I generally enjoy eating.
I love Maharashtrian food. Surprisingly in Mumbai we do not find a lot of these restaurants. Girgaum is one area that has 3 quality Maharashtrian restaurants. Sujata being one of them.
Not sure how long Sujata has been around now. But from the ambience it looks like a pretty old restaurant with a old world charm. I love their batata Wada and sabudana Wada. The Piyush and misal are probably not as good as one of their neighbouring restaurants. They also have a good lunch menu.
Overall I’m happy to see a restaurant serving Maharashtrian veg food sustaining itself through all these years.

GOTTA BE my favourite place for some lovely Maharashtrain fare. Love everything here especially the puri bhaji, misal, thalipeeth and kothimbir wadi. Have to visit this place more often.

Mouthwatering Thalipeeth Sujata Uphar Griha ( B Tambe)
I went there to have Thalipeeth, It was served with Green based Coconut Chutney and my favorite White makhan.
The aroma of thalipeeth was divine when it came in front of me, it was mouthwatering.
Since it was the first time, i was having Thalipeeth, i took assistance from their staff, they advised me - best way to eat Thalipeeth is that spread the white butter on it and then dip in coconut chutney.
It was Very Delicious. Moderate level of masala were used in it, Suitable for people of all age groups.
In my personal opinion, best combination of Thalipeeth is that when you drink tea along with it.

Living in the Girgaon area is always a blessing. Being a Gujju I hardly get to eat Maharashtrian food. But whenever I feel like having it, Sujata Uphar Griha is an answer. Typical Maharashtrian Jevan like its said. From Sol Kadhi, Thali Peeth, Misal Pav, Jhunka with Bhakar and Kharwas, This place serves you everything. In winters they also serve the Gujarati Dish Undhiyu but with a Maharashtrian twist. Ambience is ok, place is not so big, but food is just amazing. From Aam Panha, Sol Kadhi to Piyush, every drink here is special and has its own good taste. The Dal Rice or so called "Varan Bhaat" here is to die for. Service here is good and they treat you like you are eating at home. Jhunka Bhakar is a must have. Kharwas is dessert is a must too. I will give Sujata Uphar Griha 4 stars. If you like trying local Indian cuisine, do visit this place.

पूर्वीचं बी.तांबे आणि आता सुजाता उपहारगृह म्हणून नामकरण झालेल्या या हॉटेलमध्ये मराठी पदार्थाचीच रेलचेल आहे. इथे घरगुती पद्धतीने म्हणजेच मिक्सरचा वापर न करता हाताने तयार केलेला आमरस मिळतो. उन्हाळ्याच्या सिझनमध्ये आमरस पुरी खायची असल्यास हे ठिकाण उत्तम आहे. आंबा डाळ, आंबा पन्ह आणि आवर्जून खावा असा पदार्थ म्हणजे फ्रेश मँगो विथ आइस्क्रीम.
भाजणी थालीपीठ, कोथिंबीर वडी, अळू वडी, वाटाणा, काजू आणि मका पॅटिस या मराठमोळ्या पदार्थाचा थाट तर येथे आहेच. पण त्याचसोबत चटपटीत वडा, रसरशीत मिसळ, उपवासाचे पदार्थ, भाकरी स्पेशल, थंड पेय, गोड पदार्थ या प्रत्येक हेडिंगखाली आठ ते दहा वेगवेगळे प्रकार तुम्हाला पाहायला मिळतील. उदाहरणार्थ मिसळ. पुणेरी, नवरंग (नऊ कडधान्यांची उसळ), दही, चीज, पनीर, फराळी, दही फराळी मिसळ असे प्रकार आहेत.

I am going to this place since multiple years and its awesome. Food is tasty, service is quick. Nice place for quick bite. Staff is friendly. They rebranded (renamed) their restaurant but the staff is same. Like it.

A good place for a quick snack as well as proper lunch. Its Known for maharashtrian specialities. The misal pav, sabudana vada and kothimbir wadi are really good. The juices are fresh and good as well. Its one of the very few places which serves good farali misal. Its yum and filling.

Sujata is a restaurant located in Girgaon popular for its Maharashtrian specialities in the nearby localities.
I tried the Navrang Misal pav here and I really enjoyed it. The misal is extremely spicy and is a speciality of this restaurant. I'd definitely recommend to try this dish here. I haven't tried anything else here though.
It's a simple and extremely economical restaurant which can be visited for snacks at any time.

This used to be the Tambe uphar gruh or something. Since last 5 yrs it is now Sujata. On New Year Day 2016 I was in downtown for the Friday Chor Bazaar market and was hungry during noon. I headed straight towards Girgaon and this was my first halt. I ordered a misal pav and it was good.
They need to make improvements; smaller potato pieces, spicy rassa and always serve hot no matter how many times you heat it. Serving misal pav that is only lukewarm will not serve the purpose in winter.
I hv just once bt wat a taste... Tried the Maharastrian delicacies n it turned out to be more than wat we were charged... A great place for breakfast or evening snack. Would love to visit there in future

I have always loved the restaurants who serve traditional food. These are the places who, in a way, keep food traditions alive. I respect them for that. Girgaum has a versatile food joints and restaurants. No one will sleep hungry if you are in girgaum. So back to sujata uphar griha in girgaum. I came across this restaurant accidentally. The restaurant we were planning to try was shut. So I thought why not try. We ordered a veg thali, thalipeeth initially. And It was delicious we had chapati, two subzi, varan, bhatachi mud, curd, dessert, and alu wadi. We reordered alu vadi . It was hot and delicious. Thalipeeth was served with loni ie home made butter and was very authentic. The only thing that made me deduct one point was the dessert. We ordered dudhi halwa which I think was frozen. Dudhi halwa had grainy texture maybe because of margarine. That's a total put off. Please go ahead if you want to treat yourself with authentic maharashtrian cuisine.

If ur looking for something sweet, spicy or simple.. This is the place to be. Don't be put down by its not so fancy interiors coz the food and the taste really make up for it. Confused what to have on the menu ?? Just opt for the mini or special thali and surely u won't have anything to complain about. The kokam sarbat it also a must have on the list..
