Read reviews and with a mixed feeling went inside. Place is clean and with positive vibes..
Ordered chicken naan sandwich , naan was a better form of pav, soft n tasty, was filled with pieces of chicken mixed in spicy onions n tomotoes paste like stuff. Had been better if it was more chicken n less stuffed with onions n masala. For 40 rs it was worth it. Second I ordered chai which was classical mumbaiya chai.. kadakk n sweet as every other chai we get in mumbai. Third I ordered caramel custard n it was a delight to eat. It was so good that I can come again for eating it as I like such sweet bakery items.
Chai for Rs 15/ custard for RS 65. Attaching pictures of the same.

Cafe Firdos is a nice restaurant for quick bites. Good food and good service. I have been here twice now and this place is good. The Baida Roti is quite good. What is the best is the price. Price is very very reasonable. Do try if you are around Crawford Market.

At Crawford market backside to badshah Colddrinks, very tasty lunch dinner breakfast available here with good service and very hygienic, family's and for office staff...

One of the traditional restaurant in the bustling city, they leave you content with the food and service.
A cuisine which is a delight for all the foodies who look for authentic mughal cuisine with the traditional touch. The place was very neat and clean with friendly staff and also have a separate section for family. The food is fresh and very budget friendly. I had Chicken Afghani, 3 Tandoori Rotis, a 300ml thumbs up and a Caramel Custard all for "JUST 249". And I have a genuine happy tummy face on and so does my wallet. Must try place! Coming back with my friends for sure!

When in Mumbai Crawford and want to experience how a Bohari Breakfast begins, then this is the place to be. The Fried Kheema was lovely along with piping hot chapati. The place offers limited but a traditional non vegetarian menu which shouldn't be missed by ardent meat lovers. Caramel Custard was decent. Do visit this place for tummy filling breakfast or lunch which still gives you the feel of early Bombay with respect to the atmosphere as well as the food bill.

Cafe Firdos can be easily located in the bylane opposite to crowford market.

The mugalai and chinese dishes are good, not amazing.

What pulls u to Cafe firdos everytime is their baida roti which I can say is one of the best in Mumbai.

The ambience is okaish, the service good and the prices reasonable

At cafe Firdos aap Fir zaroor aaoge - for the baida roti.
The food here is good. Actually whatever you order the taste would be nearly same. Tandoori Roti had good amount of butter. We tried Chicken Mughlai and it was satisfactory.
Go for their amazing Mughlai cuisine. Also their tea is good.
Ambience and service both are okay. People are not courteous but they are not rude as well. They'll stick to their job. So better order quickly as you can't pass much time.

Cafe Firdos at Crawford market offers various chinese and mughalai dishes...
The crowd here says the popularity of this place...
Price is also a considerable factor..
Murgh musallam was my favourite..😋 biryani was like okok..
But all dishes especially starters here are just awesome..

Nice place to visit in market area for lunch as well as dinner...
Also u can go with family.
Prices offered by the place are worth spending.

Centrally located right on the main road. Menu is very decently priced and a sumptuous meal for 2 would cost around 600 rupees . Must try dishes- chicken seekh kebab, murgh nargasi, murgh musallam. Staff are very courteous too and always keep an eye repeat orders . Very warm and prompt service

Value for money is the perfect term for this place.
A typical joint that service avg Chinese food and moghlai food. It's one of my places to visit on course shopping to Crawford Market.
Sapna Pai
Crowded place in the Crawford market.
I didn't like the biryani at all.
And the Manchurian I ordered didn't seem vegetarian to me or they have a practice of frying veg non veg in the same oil.
Mustafa
A pleasent cafe with a decent rate and perfect taste.
Ordered rolls and kebabs. The taste was excellent and the dishes were served fast. Waiter had good knowledge of the food there and understood what the customer wanted. The tea also had a superb taste and was refreshing.
A good place for an evening snack.

Been here over 10 times. Never fails to impress me. Love the food, the service is excellent. This place is surely under rated. Definitely going to visit this place over 6382919109 times.

Had chicken roll and chicken biryani. Roll was delicious but biryani was more like khichdi. With plain rice on the top and chicken maasala. One can only indulge in starters here don't be too experimental with their food

After our shopping at Crawford market and Lohar Chawl, we were so damn hungry that we wanted to hog peacefully at an AC restaurant. That's when our research landed us to Cafe Firdos. It's a decent place to dine in with more areas covered under non AC and limited under AC because of which we had to wait for sometime.

Once we got in, in no time the first order, we placed was of
A) Chicken baida roll - It was very tasty with the perfect green chutney. Chutney was thick unlike other places where it is just water.

B) Chicken seekh - This was ok not that very tasty.

C) Naan and special chapati with chicken tikka masala. Chicken tikka masala was green in color so don't be surprised like us because when we confirmed they mentioned that it is green in their restaurant and they make it red only on request. Taste wise, it was again moderate.

D) Caramel Custard - Good!

Pocket friendly place so you can give it a try. Also it is among the few restaurants nearby to that vicinity..

I would say this is 'The Best Place' all over Mumbai if you want to have amazing mughlai food. This place is worth it. They have AC as well as non AC section. The place is spacious. Service is bang on, the service over there is really very good and fast. If I get a chance to rate this place I would say it's 101/100 💯💯 and the price over there is so reasonable. Whenever I go there, i have butter chicken with tandoor roti and the price is so reasonable that you don't need to think twice before having food over here. I suggest you to go over here for lunch cause the surrounding area is really very crowded and at night it is too much. Also there's lot of chaos over here but it can be avoided by sitting in the AC section.

A good place for mughlai cusine and an old one in the Crawford market area.Ordered Mutton Peshawari and Tandoori Roti. The Curry was a nice blend of spices quiet smoother gravry and tender pieces of mutton added to it.

Tired and exhausted by roaming on the streets of cst or shopping.. head to this small and quirky restaurant cafe firdous situated in a lane opposite to the Crawford market. The food here is delicious and extremely pocket friendly. Service is good and the staff is very soft spoken. Their biryani, chicken clear soup, butter chicken are my personal favourites. A clean and nice place to have mouth watering and tummy filling dishes.

Heard about Cafe Firdaus from one of my friends. It's located right opposite to Crawford Market in the lane of Sadanand Restaurant. It's pretty crowded throughout the day. I tried their Chicken Lazeez which was flavourful. I loved their Baida Roti as well. Pretty difficult to find good Baida Rotis these days. Overall a decent place for Moghlai food lovers.

After hard fought bargaining and 25% of shopping list is done you need good lunch for sure and this always been a place which I prefer.

This is a old place with some amazing, lip smacking Mughali dishes. As you enter you will have some typical of Old Delhi place aroma around you, basic tables ,white tiles all around the wall and old chacha at counter.
After settling down we ordered Fish fry(Rawas),Chicken Lajawab,Chicken afghani and Biryani.

Here they serve fish coated in chicken lollipop like coating and fried, nothing special for me just a good snack to start till you wait for the mains.

Chicken lajawab comes in red gravy and loaded with butter, medium spicy with flavours, nicely cooked chicken pieces with or without bones.

Chicken Afghani comes in brown gravy, nicely mince chicken again very good.

After two killer dishes Chicken biryani is bit let down, nothing to complain but again nothing to praise about it.

Total cost for this experience was 580rs VFM ka father 😜

Overall a great place to try if you are in this area.
Cheers!

Woah this place serves great chinese food !!
The tripple Schezwan rice has crazyyyy amount of quantity
It can easily serve 3 to 4 people ...
Farzeen Irani
A pocket friendly restaurant in the heart of Crawford Market. We were really feeling hungry after all the shopping and saw this cafe. Its simple and crowded even at odd hours. We asked for our favourite Kheema Pau and Bhurji pau. Kheema was delicious, a bit spicy and had a little extra oil in it. The egg Bhurji was so delicious that my sister Anahita Irani refused to share it with me, she kept saying , "Eat your own dish." So I got a very little, just to nibble and taste it. We ordered for tea, which was hot and well flavoured too. The service is extremely prompt and everything served is fresh and hot. Would love to visit again and try some different dishes here.

Pocket friendly restaurant. If you are in crawford market hungry & broke perfect place togo. They have a huge Non ac seating & also has a small ac seating.
Their must try is the tea.(Heaven for all Chaivanist)
I tried the Chicken Maharaj which comes in Red & green gravy together in the main course along with some butter nan which was okayish.
Also tried their Malaysian Rice which comes in huge quantity but not really appealing in taste,it was a flat blunder.
One can go for the basic that might help.
Kapil Darbari
If cheap and good non veg food is what you want - look further. Cheap, maybe. Good - definitely not. Crappy mutton prep. Chicken was a saving grace and tolerable. Tandoori roti were nice and soft.

I'll give 5/5 to Food and Service.
Awesome delicacies which are reasonably priced. This place is a little congested though.
Its a strict no no for ambience lovers. Go here if you want to have some really delicious food. The service is unbelievably quick.

I was Wandering around crawford market, so came across this place.

The restaurant was full, expected this place to serve excellent food. But the food was Okay, service was good.

I had ordered for Baida Roti, felt it was oily and roti was not finely roasted.

Then ordered for Chicken tikka Biryaani, disappointed with the quantity of the biryani. The taste again was okay.
Jerrin Thomas
Food was okay, cheap, and the staff was friendly. But cleanliness was an issue. Cleanliness 5/10. Also there are some chicken dishes which are 1st quality and some are 2nd quality, do order after enquiring about them.

A place located in the most popular shopping streets of Mumbai at Crawford Market, A small place with good food, amazing tea and moreover pocket friendly restaurant which will satisfy you.

Do not keep up your expectations if you are planning to visit this cool small place.

I went to crawford for some work. My friend dragged me to this place for CHAI. although this place serves mostly only non veg, their chai was AMAZING. *drool* we had to stand on the road and drink the tea since it was super crowded and had waiting. It would be a sin if u come to Crawford market and do not have at least their tea. Although i didn't try any food, I felt it was important to mention about their amazing tea and hence the review. :)
Even if u don't like tea, give this one a try. ;)

A old but great outlet in very busy area near Crawford.
Guys your butter chicken just melts in mouth, and a single person can't finish Chicken Triple Fried Rice, they just guys huge portions.
Whenever I go to CST, I make sure I visit this place

Located at the busiest streets of Crowford Market. Open from 6AM to 11 PM... A Nice place to have Mughlai Food. Have 2 section AC and Non AC. AC section is on the mezzanine floor. Very small section though. Complete Irani Restaurant setup. Their kababs are good so as the fried Chicken. Only disappointment is they serve Maida Rotis. U need to have Chapatis if u whish to have Wheat Rotis. All the Mughlai and Punjabi dishes are equally good. We ordered 2 chicken main courses at first both looked the same. But when we tasted both were different and was very tasty. Their Tripple Schezwan Rice is good comes in a huge plate, quite enough to satisfy hunger of 5 people. I would suggest u must viait this place when near Crowford.

After a tiring day at crawford and want to eat proper food this is the place. A very small place where you have to adjust urself to fit in their tables. But you can forgive all of that for the food they serve. We has chicken afghani and multani. Both were in red gravy but has a different taste. It was pretty yum

When you're tired of shopping and want something filling to eat then this is the perfect place to stop by and hog! 😎 Had heard a lot about the cafe and the experience turned out to be yummy 👌

If you are shopping around the area of Crawford market and have already spent a good amount on shopping good and low priced dresses and jewellery, the next thing on your mind would be to look for a low priced restaurant which offers delicious food. Cafe Firdaus happens to be that place, offering authentic and delicious Mughlai food which is super light on the pocket and also leaves the hunger pangs and taste buds satiated.

With the day spent shopping in the narrow and overcrowded streets of Bhuleshwar and Mangaldas Market, hunger pangs attacked me and my friends and we were looking for a place which offered budget friendly non veg dinner. After spotting this average looking Cafe, we were quite apprehensive about the restaurant due to its ordinary ambience.

Hesitatingly we stepped in and have a look at the menu. We had decided that If the items on the menu looked appealing we would order else we would leave. Having taken a seat, our eyes looked around and we saw tables that had Mughlai dishes. That perhaps gave us the confidence of not leaving. The waiter arrived quickly and suggested chicken lazeez and chicken lajwab.

We ordered chicken lazeez and tandoori roti and I must say I had eaten such a tasty chicken curry after long. The gravy had the just the right mix of the spices - though it was medially spiced - and had a greenish hue with boneless chicken pieces which were quite succulent. The quantity was more than sufficient. The tandoori roti was well baked, crisp and soft at the same time. After this amazing combo, we decided to please our hungry stomachs with some Mutton biryani.

Now if you are a true Hyderabadi or Lucknowi Biryani Lover( being one myself) then the sight of the Biryani Rice served at Cafe Firdaus might not be to your liking. Why? Well, because they have plain white coloured rice with a tinge of green coloured rice grains which doesn't even stand a comparison to the golden and saffron coloured rice grains of a dum Biryani. We decided to not lament our decision and eat the Mumbai version of Biryani. And so, with a grimace I put some rice, with the Masala and a mutton piece in my plate. I then mixed all the three and ate the first morsel. And surprise, surprise. What a well prepared Biryani this was. The Mutton piece was soft ,juicy and fresh, a rarity to find in Mumbai. The Biryani masala had all the right ingredients and was wafting of the spices. We finished our Biryani quickly only to realise that we could have eaten more of it if we were not too full already.

Caramel Custard and Fruit Salad is a common dessert and a speciality at many Muslim Restaurants. Since Caramel Custard was not available, we decided to have Fruit Salad with a Scoop of Vanilla Ice-Cream. The fruit salad had finely cut slices of apple and banana in custard. The custard was just to our liking though it was medially in taste. After having finished our dessert we called for the bill. And guess, how much did we pay? Just Rs. 360 for a sumptuous and tasty meal that we had till our filling.

The place is surely a must visit, just for the taste and authenticity of its dishes. And if this doesn't excite you pay it a visit if you have spent a bang on shopping and are looking for some inexpensive eating options.

This place is among those where you dont care about the ambience, service or hygiene as well for that matter....you just dig in because the food is cheap and yummy....it's an underrated place due to other big names in vicinity....try thier soft Roti's, chicken Afghani , white chicken, caramel custard...etc etc ...value for money place.

If you are looking for a good - Reasonable - Non Veg and Veg Restaurant in the Crawford Market Area, you should by heading towards this place. Post our meeting at the Commissioner's Office, a colleague and I were craving to have some good Food. Using Zomato itself we came to know about this outlet, which luckily wasn't far from where we were.
As soon as we reached the place, we headed straight to the A/C section at the 1st floor area. If you would notice, it hasn't rained much in Mumbai for last 2 days and the heat is rising again.
The Mutton Keema is the fastest finishing Dish over there, by the time we reached (12.30 pm) it was Over - Unavailable and so Unbelievable !!! {I was Like.. "KYA! Khatam Hogaya ?!" :/ :P}
We had to settle for other dishes available there, which were also fantastic. We had 4 Chapatis, A gravy and Rice, also my Favorite Caramel Custard!! It was Yummmm :P
The outlet is reasonably priced, spacious and located at a close distance from the main Market. You also get to chose the options between AC and Non AC Seating.
Mode of payment.. CASH only!
Now.. Parking.. you get parking for cars (paid) just near the junction outside the Market. However for bikes.. you should be able to park right outside the restaurant.

As regular Crawford Market visitors this place has been a constant throughout my childhood. As a child I've also had Iftar here during Ramzan. I still remember relishing on their baida roti and baida roll. However, I've stopped visiting this place now, not because I've got better options or anything but the quality of the food is not the same anymore. It lacks the original taste it had. Although if you're in Crawford market and crave for Nonveg food do give it a try.
Discover the not so popular restaurants in Mumbai on instagram.com/dishcoveries

This rating is only for the amazing quality food cafe firdos served. Been here n hogged like crazy. Recommended for non veg lovers.
Must try : chicken nan sandwich
Rawas thai n chicken thai
Special faluda. Pocket friendly. You shouldn't look for ambience wen u r empty on stomach as well as pocket.

We had been to Crawford market for some shopping and found this place while we were searching for a place to have non veg for lunch. Cafe firdoz is a place with not much ambience.
We ordered Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Biryani. The Chicken tandoori was really well marinated and well cooked. After a long time had a yummy tandoori chicken. But the biryani was very gresy. I had prefer eating starters at this place rather than main course.

Been here no. of times and tried Chicken Triple rice, Malaysian rice... Both are mind blowing. The Triple Rice is so awesome that sometimes i just travel 1 and a half hour to have such a delicious taste. And my recommendation are if u r quite foodie then have it when someone is accompanying you... The quantity overloads the two.

When I went for the first time the service and had Taloja biryani. the quantity and quality was really great.
But the second time when we had Taloja biryani it was disastrous.Really bad service on a weekday (we had to serve ourselves) and the biryani had no taste .Despite complaining to the manager about it we got no response from him .

i have been to this place no of times.
i have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
we can have very delicious food from here for very small price.
the hot tea served is very good.
kababs are must try.
tashikand biriyani is my favourite.

A place to eat when you're tired after the shopping at Crawford Market.
Go to the AC section directly because the space below is too noisy and not that great to sit.
The place is good for its Mughlai food

Ordered the Chicken Tikka Biryani and Egg Biryani.
Both were very delicious. The only minus point is that they don't offer accompaniments like raita or papad with the biryani.

The prices are extremely pocket friendly and the service is good too.
Nida Nadim Khan
The only reason I give it a 5 is for the authentic IRANI chai they make ! At any hour .. Yes that's something I love ant these small muslim restaurants.

Also when u go there besides the regular moughlai food, eat the PUDDING and the CARAMEL CUSTARD
It's something u must've eaten in ur childhood and when u eat it again u go all nostalgic.

The ambience is very very average, placed centrally and priced way too light on the pocket.

Enjoy.
Nafis
It's an ok place to hangout. You can try chicken firdos chicken afghani and many mujhlai dishes here. And if you are here with a friend to shop around and don't wanna spend much just order for a chicken triple fried rice, good quantity and tell the waiter to give you spicy gravy on both sides, cauz normally they have a sweet gravy on one side that's not nice.
Saharsh34
Cafe firdos is just besides crowford market....ambience is not quite attractive..they hav ac section also..so if ur wid famly u can seat der...food here is typical mughalai styled food...dnt go for chinese they overdose it with chinese sauces...mughallai dishes are really tasty ,kebabs and biryani is also good..and that too for very low cost..so when ur near by dis area and low on money u can cm here n have nice mughalai food at very affordble price

The place is good, good service......we ordered chicken firdos which was good it had methi in it which I loved and chicken hydrabdi which was good as well but not as good as chiken firdos.....I ordered vanilla milk shake as well which was tasty but not chilled other than that I was awesome......if you are in this area this cafe is one you should visit

First impression is the last impression. However, I personally, do not support this concept but This joint really gets the credit in supporting this statement, but hey....
in a negative way.
The exterior of the hotel is not welcoming, the interior is not good enough too.
However we took a place and felt the food would be okaish, but at times dreams are dreams....
Had been here years back and must admit the food quality is gone more bad, sad.
Had ordered for a mutton biryani, schezwan chicken dry.
Didn't enjoy the biryani, it was blend.
The schezwan chicken dry, was as if coloured and chicken soaked in it, with the thick colour dripping down.
My friend and me both didnt enjoy the dishes.

Not happy...hope it gets at least better as before

Wishing luck

Cheers!!

Concept- Mughlai
Cleanliness- Dirty! Loads of dirt an dishes! Unwanted debris and uncleaned tables. But this is how you expect a typical Mughali/Irani cafe.
Service- Prompt and fast
Food Quality- Authetic taste of mughlai. Loads of oil, creamy rich and masaledar gravy. Great in taste and leaves all the bitter feelings aside when you bite the food. However i was off with the biryani this time.
Ambiance- Desi style.
Should try- Caramel custard, tikka and some mughlai stuff. Chinese rice and gravy
Recommendation- Yes

Pricing/VFM-Good

On reading reviews, I was tempted to visit Cafe firdous as it is very much near to my home, and after many years, I was at Cafe Firdous. I ordered Chicken biryani, it did not live upto expectatation, chicken biryani was quite normal, nothing to tell about, rice was long, taste or aroma not to talk about. Not at all impressed about it... I have not tried any other dish as yet, will try though. For biryani would not recommend.

The chicken roll out here is too good must to have atleast once but only the ambience here is not good as well as the noise around and the waiters are even arrogant.

Been here with my family....there are a few other good restaurants in the vicinity...@firdous, everything is just average..nothing special...

This place is situated at crawford market. Even though the ambience is quite okay, this restaurant totally gets all its points where food is concerned. Ordered Brain Masala and Afghani Mutton, though dripping with oil, the food is something to die for! Great taste and will make you want to order more and more. Service is quick.

This place is a good place if you want to eat something Non Veg when you are shopping at Crawford Market. The hotel is a Muslim owned and you will get Chinese as well Mughlai food at this place. Be prepared for food full with oil.
The hotel is pocket friendly. And if you like tea order a pani kam chai.
The hotel is non AC but they have a small room on the first floor that is AC for family. Do not try fancy Chinese food or soups at this place. Go with the regular chicken fried rice, or butter chicken etc. Buy bottle water at this place because the glass water will be finger dipped by the Waiter :)

Two things are a must try from this place
1) Chicken triple schezwan rice ... enough to fill two big tummy's of size 36
2) Chicken malaysian rice
Secondly they haven't mentioned the winners in the menu card. Whenever you check in this place go through the menu card and refer their specialities section which is on d last page..They are the real heroes of this restaurant !!!!!!

Very decent place. Chicken Tandoor was good. Biryani was as it should be. The chicken curry was okay. Looking at the pricing and putting it all together.. i am giving it a 4.5.

It's good, it's cheap, not hygienic but filling.
It's located in a really hard to find spot in an area which is always crowded from morning to night. You only go there for the North Indian / Muslim meat dishes. Don't expect much from the ambiance, it's typical of these places. Everything tastes del-ish! I know its dripping with oil and what not, but this is classic wholesome tasting Mumbaiya food so who cares? One thing that we always like to order is this huge plate of biriyani that they offer, it could easily be shared by 4 people and it only costs around 200 INR, it's very good. Apart from this their curries with naan and pulaos are also finger lickin' good. I do not give it points for Chinese though, same goes for ordering anything veg. I like Firdos, it's tasty cheap and good value for money

PS: Although I haven't yet fallen sick from this place, I still suggest you don't drink the water here.

The chicken biryani here takes the cake. As does the dal fry and jeera rice.

Discovered this place while shopping for Christmas. Okayish ambience but that mutton biryani (a little oily) was heavenly. Special mention for the chicken fingers and firdos kebab.A good place if ur looking for something rustic and within the budget. :)

Ambience is nice for family. Waiters are very attentive. I had Chicken Lazeez which is one of their specials and i loved it with tandoori roti. Its enough for 2 person. Tripple fried rice is just okay, the sweet gravy with rice is just passable, not something to boast about.
Good for people on tight budget ;)

Talking of early morning breakfast and some good tea in south mumbai, nothing comes to my mind except this place. They have one of the better keema and parathas. I have mostly visited this place for breakfast and truly everytime i went it was just as refeshing. the place is little cramped up for space, but the food makes up to it. Waiters are polite and attentive.

Its very inexpensive for two people with heavy breakfast it will never cross 120-150.
