I've been visiting this restaurant since childhood. And believe me they've maintained same taste and quality .
It's located in Prabhadevi near Motilal Oswal company.
You get to try different varieties of kokani and malvani food here.
My favourite is stuffed bombil & butter garlic praws.Just amazing and mouth watering.

Visited this place for lunch during my mumbai visit and tried their non veg lunch thali and I was literally drooling 🤤 ! Tasty and affordable food. Good quality and quality . Their waiting period is a bit longer for the order and apart from that no other negatives ! Definitely looking forward to dine in with them in my next visit post pandemic !
I have special memory with this place.me and my dad went for one wedding but we didn't like food there so my dad took me here. First time I tried surmai thali there and bombil fry. And experience was truely amazing.. the place was so small and you have to wait in queue sometimes but waiting are worthy. If you are seafood lover must try this place
Me and my friend recently visit jai hind luch home near indiabulls for Sunday night dinner.
We four persons ordered surmai thali and chicken saguti thali. First of all ill tell the quantity of thali,thalis quantity is quite good. In chicken saguti thali they served a plate of chicken saguti with thick gravy, a bowl of thin gravy for rice called saar, 1 roti,1cup of rice and solkadhi. In surmai thali they served fried surmai, surmai rassa, 1 roti and rice and solkadhi as it is. Let me tell about chicken saguti thali, chicken saguti masala thick gravy taste soo good i liked it personally. Talking about surmai thali, surmai thali also good like typical surmai thali. Overall food taste good i definitely recommended.

The food is simply delicious....had the bombil fry, bhakris and the surmai fry thali. The seafood is mind-blowing and the bombil literally melts in your mouth....extremely fresh....it is not very spicy as Malwani food tends to be and can be enjoyed....the Sol kadhi was delicious....the service was fantastic....would definitely recommend
This place is near Prabhadevi in South Mumbai. You can smell the fragrance of sea food as soon as you enter the restaurant. The food is really scrumptious here and you must visit here once if you're a true sea food lover. I just didn't like the long waiting queue to get into the restaurant. I would rate 4.5/5 for food according to it's taste. #seafoodlover

Offlate Jai Hind has become my favourite ...its like a heaven for Seafood.
It absolutely satisfies my palate and contents my soul... I'm a die heart fan of seafood and you get the best out here.
Recently i was out shopping at Dadar and so i took my family to Jai Hind for a nice meal after a long tiring day of shopping.
Since it was the first time for my family .. I had to make them taste obe of the ultimate delicacies of Jai Hind ⭐⭐⭐BOMBIL BHARELA- Its a seafood starter having an outter layer of bombil fish stuffed with prawns and onion sauted in yellow base. It looks like a bread roll but its pure and pure seafood..no adulteration of any bread or veggies. One piece is quite heavy...in a plate they serve two. Absolute delicacy .. totally love it .😍😍😍
Next we had ordered for Surmai tawa fry and surmai Pullimunchi.
Tawa fry was great and crisp
Pullimunchi is a Mangalorean cuisine...its a red based gravy with amazing tangy flavours well prepared...teams good with chicken, mutton or seafood.
Apart from this ..if you a vegetarian family member or friends along.. don't be disappointed...the veg food out here is also equally tasty. So my mum is a vegetarian who had ordered Paneer Tikka masala and Palak rice which was quite good.
🔵If you're ordering for any curry/gravy...try it with Neer dosa ...they serve extra soft neer dosa which is really very good ..melts in your mouth.
🔵Sol kadi is another thing ..not to be missed. Very healthy and balances the spicy food that ur eating.
There's absolutely no doubt that Jai Hind serves amazing seafood ... hence enlisted in "SUPERSEAFOOD" category which they have earned and totally deserve it.
Would like to visit again? Again and again and again...its a definite Yes 😍

Very small place but well maintained. Located on the main road. Sadly No Valet parking. Ambience is decent with majorly small groups of families visiting. Interiors are minimal but good.
Coming to Food, we had 4 starters with 2 being repeated, 2 sabjis in main course with Rotis-Vade-Appams & Biryani. Everything was extremely good & authentic. Food taste & Its preparation is awesome. All the spices & ingredients are well put together. Food quantity & quality is good looking at the price. Infact its a VFM place with some extremely lip smacking dishes.
Coming to Service, Service is on the slower side. The staff takes the orders in advance during rush hours to cut the waiting time. Food preparation takes time & once u order the food takes normally 20-22 mins to reach table. Staff is well trained & humble enough in handling orders.
Overall a good place to visit with family. Its a worth visit by looking at the Food Taste, Food Authenticity & Price.
Great place, with one of the best Tandoori Pomfrets served at an affordable price. Its buzzing with people queuing up and serves amazing sea-food.
I tried the Bombil fry, Tandoori pomfret, mutton sukha and Surmai curry followed by chicken biryani. The food was served by the waiter who always had a smile on his face and it felt amazingly homely in the midst of the bustle.
We added 4 Bhakris, 1 neer dosa and 5 Sol kadis to the above list and the bill came for 3k for 3 people which we felt was reasonable.
We left with heavy tummies and broad smiles.

Jai Hind is a great place to have sea food. Maharashtrian cuisine is their speciality. I have always been a fanatic of this restaurant. They serve some great thalis out there. Jai Hind has been quite a regular backup on hectic and long days at work and the cool part is it made the hectic day feel exciting!! What I love here is the neer dosa with almost many gravy’s in veg and non veg that I have tried. Simply fabulous. Their gassi is also yum!

Stuffed bombil : hight rated dish crisp and crunchy bombay duck stuffed with marinated prawns seasoned with all spice mixture. Truly a pleasurable experience 🐠
Surmai Fry : a king fish big fleshy piece dish fried and marinated with malvani masala🦈
Mackerel fish curry : Goan curry style seafood serving with authentic coconut and tamarind mixture🐟
Chicken grass: the gravy was really nice and very tasty for giving a nice punch of spicy and tasty chicken gravy🍗🍖
So far my experience has been A1 here but when crowded service gets slower😏
Otherwise the authentic taste and freshly served seafood always attracts me❤🥰🤩😍

We ordered in from Jai Hind for our Sunday afternoon lunch... The wait was long... But what time the restaurant committed for delivery it met that time... So that was a good thing... And then the food was just so awesome that the pain of the wait completely vanished...
We ordered the pomfret fry, prawns koliwada, surmai gassi and prawns biryani... The fish was very fresh, a good balance of spices with the taste being out of the world...
The only let down was that all the dishes were not available at the restaurant... Would have ended ordering much more...

This restaurant is a treat for all the sea food lovers.It is a bit expensive as compared to the quantity they give but the taste is super amazing.The service is great and fast.They serve everything super fast and hot. You may experience long ques on Weekends and on holidays. The hotel is fully air conditioned and there is no Non a/c room.You could try the crab here and also the prawns biryani. The solkadi sold here is also amazing.Considering the price i give this restaurant an overall rating of 8/10

Heaven for seafood lovers! Jai hind is best known for their veritable nonveg menu.
It's my most favorite outlet when it comes to seafood and konkan cuisines. It get really crowded on weekends and also on some of the weekdays. But its worth waiting for the delicious food offered here.
Ambience is decent and service is quite fast.

Brief- Jaihind lunch home is one of the most favourite restaurant of mine can say since 2003. They serve the same food quality which they use to serve 15 years back. Konkani food is something you must try here especially Fish fry. Strongly recommend this brand to all of you who love maharashtrian cuisine and like to try fish or even mutton in Konkani/malvani style.

Ambience- This restaurant use to be non ac many years back, since that time I am visiting this place. Now its renovated and full AC. Seating is little cramped up, but nothing to worry about it as food what they serve will gather all your attention for sure.(4/5)
Food- When I was studying catering in dadar back in 2003, this use to be our favourite place for fish. Nothing is changed now the taste of the food they serve is just exact same. Konkani/malvani food is their forte and they do it in style. Though they have opened more branches in Mumbai, the food quality remain untouched, excellent. They have introduced few north indian dishes too but you must try Konkani food if you are visiting jaihind for first time. (5/5)
• POMFRET FRY- coming to a Konkani cuisine restaurant and not trying a fish fry is a crime. Whole pomfret fish was lightly marinated and fried to the perfection. Loved the presentation while serving it. A must try dish I must say. Squeeze some lemon and dip it in the green chutney and you are all set to enjoy the dinning at jaihind.(5/5)
• PRAWNS FRY- Love for prawns is so much that I always order a prawns if I see a good seafood restaurant. Served in a small bowl, prawns were fried crispy and served well.(4.5/5)
• MUTTON SUKKA- Love eating mutton when it’s cooked in local maharashtrian style. Mutton cooked in thick brown onion gravy and served, which was just perfect with my chapatis. Mutton was well cooked and had little sweetish taste of the onions which were used in gravy. Must order mutton lovers.(5/5)
• SURMAI THALI- A thali consist of one surmai fry piece, fish gravy, chapatti, sol kadhi(made with konkum and coconut milk) and theccha(green chilli preparation in Maharashtra). Fish fry was well done and as a combo whole thali was going just perfect.(4.5/5)
• BOMBIL THALI- Bombil(Bombay duck) is totally love. Crispy bombil served with curry was just amazing. A must order thali if you are a abombil fry lover.(5/5)

Jai Hind Lunch Home has been very close to my heart since I was a kid. It's an old gem found in Dadar with authentic traditional sea food. I love each and everything served here.
We went for lunch on a Wednesday noon. The restaurant was packed. But the service is so fast that it hardly takes any time to get a table.
The restaurant serves a variety of Maharashtrian, Goan, South India Seafood. The best place to go for a seafood lover.

Again another gem here. The Pahadi is amazingly marinated in a creamy pudina feeling and well cooked. I always enjoyed this dish.
🔸Javala Pakoda 💯
I always loved the Javala Pakoda which my mum made so I was like why not give it a try. The Pakoda was crisp and tasty. Only that it had more of rice flour.

Thalis are like the specialities of this place. They serve a variety of thalis in non veg. We ordered the Pomfret Thali which had a fried Pomfret in it. They serve it with chapati and rice. We can ask for bhakri or Neer dosa instead of chapati. There is my favorite solkadi and a fish curry served. Everything in the dish was on point.

We then ordered the Chicken Sukkha to go with the Neer Dosa. It came in a small dish. The taste was good just like homemade chicken.

Sadly they don't serve any desserts here as people get already full with the amazing dishes. Solkadi is recommended post your meal.
The best part was the service here. It was so speedy. Each dish came so soon and the servers are well versed with the dishes. They've been trained well and they make sure to leave you with a happy tummy

They serve the best surmai fry along with solkadi. The staff is so generous & humble. Great service. We called for tandoori chicken and it was well cooked and some stuffed mushrooms which was so cheesy and good . Moving on to some main course we ordered a chicken sukka with some neer Dosa and it was super tasty. Also we had prawn biyani where in we loved the quality of rice. Best place ever.

Wanted to celebrate success with close friends, this place is absolute gem for non vegetarian lovers. The food is great with Non Vegetarian being best.
You should definitely try their Chicken Tandoori it is worth try and tastes best with the curd based green chutney.
Butter chicken is equally good.
The rotis are served nice and warm.
The neer dosas are butter soft and tasty.
Once opted for fish thali but didn't like the fried fish, as it lacked some spices and was bit bland and non crispy.
Also, have a glass of solkadhi after your meal, it is the best you can find in Mumbai.
The service may get slow sometimes during evening time and Also be ready to wait for minimum 15 minutes on weekends.
Jai Hind ..... I had such delicious dishes every time I went here. Fantastic thalis, better chicken, chicken patyala, very good soncurry and much more. The staff was very kind and the restaurant. Best food in maharashtrian style

Jai Hind Lunch Home is one of the best seafood places in town! Jai hind has a total of 4 branches in mumbai , 3 in bandra and 1 in parel!
I would recommend you to visit the parel branch to have the best seafood experience!
The seating space in the restaurant is really very congested, the hotel merely has about 10 tables which get occupied in a blink of an eye!
Visiting this place on weekends past 1 pm or 9 pm is a real nightmare! Plan the details of your meal prior to your visit! Also reach before time to land yourself a table!
I had ordered -
1) APPETIZERS
BOMBAY DUCK SANDWICH Two fillets of the fish were cut in medium portion and the filling of the sandwich was a fresh , creamy and spicy coconut chutney! You could make out from the taste of the chutney that it was freshly made! The little bland taste of the fish and the spiciness of the chutney complimented each other and the dish tasted delicious!
'BHARLELA' BOMBAY DUCK The flesh of the fish was made into a ball like shape and then deep fried , at the centre of this dish was a spicy and extremely tasty filling of small prawns which increased its taste tenfolds and brought a rich flavour to the palate! Really a must try dish! *VP RECOMMENDED
BUTTER GARLIC PRAWNS Medium sized prawns were used in the dish! The prawns were drenched in the thick gravy of butter and garlic! The gravy was extremely rich in flavour also very heavy due to the use of butter in the dish! Prawns lovers would go gaga over this dish! Worth ordering!
2) MAIN COURSE
TANDOORI RAWAS A whole fresh rawas was tandoored on slow fire with a nice marination , this dish was the highlight of the day! The fish was big , juicy and cooked exceptionally well! It is very important that the fish doesnt get blackened or over cooked while being on the tandoor but this one was done to perfection! Favourite dish on the table! *VP RECOMMENDED
HALWA MASALA This was a pure malvani delicacy! The same curry which is consumed by a number of people on the coastline with rice! The classic fish curry! It wasnt extremely spicy and goes best with rice as rice brings out the exact flavour of the curry!
MUTTON FRY Had to order something other than fish to see whether the other dishes were also up to the mark! They did not dissappoint , the mutton was done properly and was extremely juicy! The gravy was thick and spicy much to my liking! Tasted awesome with butter roti!
We had ordered Neer dosa for the fish gravy and Tandoori Rotis to munch down with the mutton!
There was no place for any kind of dessert after such a hearty meal!
We brought closure to our meal with a glass of chilled Solkadhi! Not fair to visit a malvani place and not have Solkadhi!
Even the solkadhi was exceptional! It was creamy and had a slight spicy aftertaste which I loved!
Overall the restaurant is a totally worth visiting place barring the lack of space!

Nice place for seafood lover and its near from Prabhadevi Station.
We tried Bombil Sandwich which was tasty and unique too. Prawns Thali and Promfet Thali was also good.
Better reach there at dot 1230. It gets crowded in no time. We ordered crab sukke and paplet fish fry. It was fresh, and absolutely tasty. Can never say no to this place.
We had ordered Stuffed Cheese Mushroom & Chicken Tandoori was a good starter. As this is famous for non vegetarian food. So of course Prawn Tawa Masala, Naan, Bhakri, Fish Thali of King Fish (surmai) & Shell Fish (Tisarya) & Soul Kadi. These has been really a good treat.
Best seafood you can get in Dadar and Parel.

Had Basa tawa fry, Bharlela Bombill, chicken thali(had 5 vade) neer dosa, fish currey, half plate rice & single chapati. Total 1186 for 2. Went for wed dinner...no waiting @9.30pm.
Pros- Excellently cooked fresh fish & chicken. Flavorsome, delactable in taste. Polite & warm servers. Not at all congested as mentioned by many, recently renovated, with 11 tables capacity. Hero of the evening in decending order Basa, Bharlela bombil & chicken masala from thali. Basa had crispy delicious cover & soft melt in mouth tasty flesh. The mixture stuffed in bombil was of prawns & was very scrumptious. Not pocket friendly, neither exhorbent. Apt for quality & quantity served. We had big piece of basa, i just needed small quantity of only fish curry to eat with rice and our good natured server, gave me one vati for free!!! Have been to there lower parel outlet as well (hardly 1.5km from this outlet), but this one won hands down!
Cons- Bharlela bombil only 2 pieces served for 275. M sure people wont mind paying more if serving more portions. Found one uncut fin in my bombil, they apologized after pointing it out. sol kadi was too thin and sweet no sourness spice or taste of coconut milk. Surprisingly, chicken rassa of thali was average where as its chicken masala was so yum. Shouldnt judge the "free fish curry" but, it too was very thin and below average in taste, could hardly taste coconut or kokum or salt. But again it was free so m happy ;)
Few more visits to confirm taste consistency and soon it will be my 'to go place' for fish!

LBest place for fish lovers. They serve you with fresh and tasty seafood.Always crowded during weekends. Please do prior reservation if you are in group.This wasn't my first time to visit this restaurant as it is my personal favorite.We ordered stuff bombil in starter and prawns hirva masala & bhakri for main course. Quantity is little less but worth the taste.

Perfect and pocket friendly place for sea food lovers. Sea food made in Goan, Malvani and Konkan style server here. Must try is Bombil sandwich which is something different and Prawns Pulmunchi to spice up ur tongue.

Jai Hind Lunch Home is a legend in its own right. And it is the consistent quality of fresh and delicious seafood served that has retained the popularity of this restaurant.
All the varieties of seafood dishes served here are top notch (though haven’t tried any of the other vegetarian or chicken/mutton dishes).
On my last visit, started off by the ever impressive Bharlela Bombil and it is as yummy as ever. Fresh outer covering of bombil with spicy prawns mix stuffed inside is pure bliss.
Followed it up with the Pomfret and Tisrya Thalis. The quantity of tisrya served is huge and served in a delectable sukka masala. Accompanied with the rice bhakri and the gravy served on side it makes for a perfect meal. And the Sol Kadhi served is refreshing and balances the meal perfectly.
The ambience is functional and the seating capacity always runs short of the demand. The service is quick, nothing exemplary.

Starters are awesome especially chicken Tikka, pahadi chicken, malai tikka kabbabs are awesome. Bharla bombil, bharla khekda, prawns tikka are incredible. Chicken thali are awesome it contains koshimbir, chicken masala, gravy, 4 vadas, rice and sol kadi. Also try Fish thali such as prawns thali, Pomfret thali, surmai thali, crabs thali. Sol kadi is main attraction of these Restaurant.must try sol kadi. Biryani is love. Chicken Tikka biryani is incredible. Service is good. But place is small so we have to stand in a queue but food is awesome. So I request everyone to visit to these place.

Amazing place for sea food lovers, have been visiting here for ages but noticed a change, the staff has become arrogant specially the guy who takes the waiting list.

Now comes the food, Sol Kadhi is epic it can be known as Soul Kadhi, Crispy Bombil fry is nice but the taste is a but bland, butter Chicken 💯, the most fascinating was the butter Kulcha it was delicious, Surmai fry💯, Chicken Tandoori💯, Paneer Tikka dry💯.
The thing I like about this restaurant is the taste is upto the mark it’s never too less or too much.
Altogether it’s perfection for non-veg lovers !

I went here with family. Known for its malvani food, it never disappoints. They have revised their menu a few years back, so a lot of legacy dishes are not available now.
We started with the prawns rawa fry. It's a dish you never go wrong with when you are here. Next was an experiment, stuffed bombil fry with kardi prawns. This blew our mind! Highly recommended.
We tried their chicken masala fry and bheja masala fry with bhakhri. It came in the exact same gravy 😅
By this time, we were absolutely full. Though our little one wanted rice and chicken malwani gravy. So that was our final order. Again, it was really as per our expectations. We finished with a solkadhi a kokam and milk concoction with spices. It's good for digestion.
This is a small family space with decent if not lavish interiors.
The washrooms are small but clean.
The staff was courteous and quick. The restaurant was full even on a weekday. It's popular amongst locals.
Parking for cars here will be a problem, for bikes it's easy.
This place does not have nor does it need a wheelchair accessible ramp.
Pricing - For 3 adults and 1 kid, ordering 2 starters, 2 main course dishes, 1 rice and 2 aperitifs, we paid About Rs 1400. That's absolute value for money.

It's been one of our family's favorite joint for seafood for many years. We have eaten in the old set up and now the new set up too. Now it has become a hit amongst food lovers. It was Overcrowded as it was Sunday too. This time the experience wasn't that good as joy of eating peacefully was missing. . Standard set by Jai Hind is too high for years so we were disappointed as Food quality too has come down a little bit. But one thing that's improved is service. Staff is polite n accomodative.
With proper social distancing they have arranged all the seating tables . This place has a variety of seafood dishes to order. The staff is very well trained and is cooperative. Service is quick and the quality if food is commendable. Would definitely suggest all the seafood lovers to try this restaurant.

The place is good. general waiting time is around 15 minutes we have tried surmai , pomfret and prawns thali. Fish thalis were really tasty but prawns were just average. We also ordered veg dish along with naan which was also average in taste .
They have maintained the taste across their branches. Though number of tables is limited the ambiance and feel of place is good. Food rates are reasonable. Expect a waiting queue on weekends as the food is tasty.

Jai Hind Lunch Home has been very close to my heart since I was a kid. It's an old gem found in Dadar with authentic traditional sea food. I love each and everything served here.
We went for lunch on a Wednesday noon. The restaurant was packed. But the service is so fast that it hardly takes any time to get a table.
The restaurant serves a variety of Mahrashtrian, Goan, South India Seafood. The best place to go for a seafood lover.

It was the best Koliwada I had. The prawns were crisp and nicely marinated in housemade masala. And the quantity was amazing. Highly recommend.

This is the most famous dish here and a innovative one. The bombil are stuffed with small prawns known as karandi and deep fried. Goes amazing with their creamy chutney.

Again another gem here. The Pahadi is amazingly marinated in a creamy pudina feeling and well cooked. I always enjoyed this dish.

I always loved the Javala Pakoda which my mum made so I was like why not give it a try. The Pakoda was crisp and tasty. Only that it had more of rice flour.

Thalis are like the specialities of this place. They serve a variety of thalis in non veg. We ordered the Pomfret Thali which had a fried Pomfret in it. They serve it with chapati and rice. We can ask for bhakri or Neer dosa instead of chapati. There is my favorite solkadi and a fish curry served. Everything in the dish was on point.

We then ordered the Chicken Sukkha to go with the Neer Dosa. It came in a small dish. The taste was good just like homemade chicken.
Butter chicken here tastes amazing with the Neer dosa 💯
Sadly they don't serve any desserts here as people get already full with the amazing dishes. Solkadi is recommended post your meal.
The best part was the service here. It was so speedy. Each dish came so soon and the servers are well versed with the dishes. They've been trained well and they make sure to leave you with a happy tummy.
