Been eating here since was a kid, for past 30 years. Its an iconic place in Vile Parle East. The decor ambience is the same for the past 30 years, as is the taste & quality of food. Nothing's changed. Eating here takes me back to my childhood days! And the food is so economical!!!! Some places are just nostalgic.

It is one of those restaurants which doesn't look appealing because of ambience but serves lip smacking food items😋 The restaurant doesn't make good impression for eyes but you should visit and taste their food, i bet you will come back🤤 The prices are super cheap, quantity is more than enough and taste is excellent🙌 Ambience and service are major setbacks for this restaurant. Dirty walls, wooden chair and tables and service is a bit slow but i don't mind these things until the food tastes good. I had ordered
Chicken tandoori - most of the tandoori chicken i have i had in vile parle were dry and burnt from outside. Their chicken was filled with juices and cooked perfectly😍 Must try if you visit.
Tangri fry - as it says in the name it was chicken leg (whole) in their special thick gravy. The dish is not very spicy and not too bland and with the gravy you should have butter naan or butter paratha. The butter naan i had was covered in melted butter plus they add a lump of butter on top❤️

K K Punjab is located at Ram Mandir road,Ville Parle East. We ordered egg masala curry, tandoori chicken and tandoori roti. I loved roti and egg masala curry but tandoori chicken was average. Ambience of this place is okayish but this place is pocket friendly.

The food and the ambiance are inversely proportional at this place. Dont judge the retaurant by its outer appearance... This place is very close to vile parle station (east). Mutton kheema is the must try along with jeera rice.

This is a delicious gravy... A bit spicy.... With boiled eggs. We have been ordering this for years... The taste is consistent. Quantity is lots. The taste of this gravy is unique which I still haven't found elsewhere.

The Rotis were really soft and of whole wheat flour... A good point! Loved the Rotis.
BIRYANI RICE
This is our all time favourite. The grains are well cooked. The rice has a lovely mild spice flavour and comes with a particular gravy. It's too delicious. If you don't want a biryani, do order for this rice. You get it in half as well as full quantity.
CHICKEN FRY... Gravy
The gravy again is almost same as the egg fry one and comes with soft chunks of well cooked chicken. A thick gravy, bit spicy, a good quantity again. Tastes yum with Rotis.

These dishes are all favourites. Though I felt their quality of biryani is not as before. So haven't tried it recently. But the Gravies, Rotis and Biryani Rice get full marks!

The food , the dishes, the flavour , the staff , the menu card everything has been the same since the past two decades. They don’t talk much or interact much with the people.

Some of the dishes here have a distinct flavour and taste of their own like their signature dish ( as I call it ) rajma Palak.
Their daal fry is delicious and goes great with their oily jeera fried rice.
The tandoori rotis are always soft fresh and hot . Chicken & Mutton masala fry is a must try here. Please ignore the floating oil as it adds to the taste ;-)
They serve chilled masala chaas and you shouldn’t leave this place without a glass or two.

It's been 11 years since I have been coming here to taste their chicken biryani & dal fry. It is a must try if you are a biryani lover.
Specially in a place like vile Parle (east) where there are less of non-veg options to choose from.
The only drawback is that there”s no delivery service & you have to come and order. But you can call prior to going to the hotel and tell them in advance if you are planning for a takeaway option.

Liver masala fry and chicken masala fry is very well made and hot rotis served along with this is also very good.
Biryani is very well balanced on garam masala flavours and on chicken.. Flavours don't burn your tongue but leave long lasting aromatic taste 😍🤘

This place holds a special importance as my parents have been regular clients here. As a matter of fact they were dating when they used to visit this place together! So coming to the review, here we go!
This place is a no nonsense basic restaurant with no seperate A/C section so don't expect any kind of posh ambience. The food makes up for the lack of ambience here, chill.
There are three things for which this place is really known for:
1. Tandoori Chicken
The Tandoori Chicken here is just a basic one with no excess of masalas and stuff. They never compromise on the quantity and even the quality of it which makes it all the more tasty. Brilliantly cooked, you won't find any limitations to it.
2. Mutton Masala Fry
I really don't know what they do with the mutton here which makes it so damn tasty, honestly. The thick gravy base is so flavourful you cannot stop! The USP of this dish is the tenderness of the mutton which just melts in the mouth. All of this is blended into a perfect combination which you can have with a Roti even maybe a Steam Rice.
3. Dal Rice (Dal Maarke)
You will understand what Dal Maarke means when you actually go there! This is the staple of every office-goer in the vicinity (even my parents, lol). Brilliant, just brilliant.
After all of this you have to, have to, have to try their Biryani (chicken/mutton). Amazing biryani these guys have yaar seriously.
All of this and you still won't find a hole in your pockets. This place is really really pocket-friendly (ask any corporate guy in Vile Parle!).
Overall an awesome place if you're a bhukkad like me. I hope this place remains the same throughout and doesn't change for the worse.

The most amazing food ever! Their dal fry, kadhi pakoda, biryani, chicken Masala, Rajma Masala ...actually everything on their menu is a must try! The ambience might not attract you ..but just go there purely for the food...you will keep going back for more!
Situated just opposite of parla book depot, I wondered whether I was doing the right thing by entering this restaurant complete with red plastic chairs and giving out the old school 90's vibe. But once the food comes you just forget about the noise and the heat because the chicken masala fry I ordered was just heavenly with the right amount of spice and a hint of sweet complete with really tender chicken. Service was also quick.

This was the place i had my first paneer bhurji. It just got me addicted. Bhindi masala was another favoirite.
Sometimes the smallest of places give us the biggest of memories. This is one such place. Those rainy days of limited pocket money lead u to some of the hidden treasures of the world. It may not be extrmely great but i still like it. The place is a total value for money kinds.

The management is same as that of Hotel Santosh, another lunch home kind of eatery. My favorite here is Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka & Chicken Masala fry. Good food (self-tested or reviewed by others) makes you do things and this time it made me travel to Vile Parle in search of Punjabi food to a restaurant on a busy market street (near the station itself) but where the encompassing trees help give a sense of isolation to it. The decor outside, with a few plastic chairs and a table, reminiscences of the old days gone (or is it of the smaller cities) is perfect backdrop for good food and good food it is - rotis are dipping in butter, chicken is not only fried but also the masala is spicy and dal fry although lacking in that 'tadka' (as is seen in northern India) is still tasteful to eat. However, the food does not truly encompass the Punjabi food's essence in its entirety (it would be harsh to expect that too) but that should not be reason enough not to visit the place especially with friends to do meaningless (yet meaningful) chatter and gossip. And yeah, its very cheap too.
Chicken Fry Masala from K.K.Punjab in Vileparle E is legendary. It comes with a chicken leg and a spicy thick onion based gravy that you will instantly mop up with roti or naan. Even the chicken leg is perfectly cooked with meat almost falling off the bone. This place has been around for donkey years now and the food is far from the conclusion one will draw looking at its ambience ! They have got a few signature dishes like mutton Kheema fry that are lipsmackingly good too.

When you are walking the streets of Vile Parle, you will come across this little place, which you will easily neglect at the first sight. If you do so, you have just missed a chance to have one of the best Punjabi dishes in the city. If you are low on money, you can happily walk out of this place with your tummy filled with amazing food in just under a 150 bucks. Kheema Fry coupled with fresh butter Roti's is what I recommend. Amazing food and dirt cheap for the taste and quality. A small little tip, just be good with the owner, he seems to be a man who cares for none! :P
Nice place to come for a Saturday brunch with your friends or office colleagues. The ambience is not that good with a recommendation of a make-over. But it seems the owner does not care. Food-wise, the quality is good.
Most probably you will end up ignoring this really shady looking place but this is a hidden gem. They serve only Punjabi food but the food that is very rich in taste and I guess even in preparation as you can make out the chicken gravies being made in ghee, the rotis being very thin and cooked to perfection. There is nothing fancy about this place apart from good cheap food and really quick service.. They dont even deliver it to your place so if you live/work around and want something to go very quickly you can always count on this place. A lot of people would not even try to sit here and eat as most of the eating area is open and just next to the road but the food is really worth trying.

In one word, it's like any typical Paharganj type dhaba and so far one of the best place which gives you authentic Delhi dhaba kind of taste in Mumbai. Sadly, the owner seems to have outlived his passion. If you can discount his sloppy service and don't mind eating in greasy steel plates then you should try once.

This place has very good food but I would recommend not to sit and eat there if with family rather take a parcel as the seating arrangements,ambience and service is not good at all.The 4.5 is only for food and especially egg masala, chana masala,tomato fry,jeera rice and dal fry should be tried.
The prices are quite competitive, and the food is good enough for the price. One thing I noticed at this restaurant is its cold mannered service. The waiters does not seem to really care about hospitality. Even the guy/ in-charge at the counter seemed to have forgotten how to smile. I just want to remind them that good food tastes even better when it is served with a friendly attitude. Parcel packing is below average. The big refrigerator right in front in the dining hall is an eye sore and takes up valuable space. The infrastructure needs retouching, as it looks both old and visually less appealing / appetizing.

Probably the most under-rated food joint in Mumbai. The best dal tadka in India. Has countless regular customers, great indian food. Recommended for non vegetarians. Plenty of options for vegetarians as well. Extremely well priced.

I got a chance to visit this place after a long time(5-6 years) and i must say that they are still serving good food for very very reasonable prices. The only thing that has changed over time is the quantity of food that they serve. I had a chicken biryani and the taste was good as expected. The food is always good but there is nothing else to talk about this place.
Dont think of going to this place with your girlfriend as there is zero ambience and nothing great about the seating.

I've crossed this place many times, but never felt like going in. There is no enough lighting at the entrance, so I always thought it was a bar. It's a very small place, The place is known for its Biriyani, with enough quantity to fill one's stomach. It's mixed with just the right amount of masala and taste very good and served with a thick brown gravy. Taste Good!

I'd say one of the BEST chicken biryani's I've had in Mumbai till date. Once you open a pack of K.K.Punjab's biryani,the aroma is so tantalizing that you just Have to dig in immediately!This is not your regular dum biryani where there are separate layers of rice and masala.The masala is mixed in evenly and one big succulent piece of chicken is placed alongwith their biryani,served with a thick 'saalan' or gravy.Have tasted the malabar and hyderabadi versions of this delectable dish but trust my taste buds..this is a different experience altogether!!..Nice and moist,rightly spiced,adequate quantity and reasonably priced.What more can one ask for?? :)

It's an underdog. A beautiful little place near vile Parle station that will take you back to the 90's. Even the prices are from the 90's. Amazing food right from chicken, mutton, seafood etc..
