Recently I visited this place in Marol called spice of Kerala. This place is mostly famous for south Indian dishes. As u get in here ull get a vibe as u ur in any state of South.

The speciality of this place is the chicken biryani. Ull get the taste of the south Indian spices more in this dish. The quantity was very good. No colors were added.

Staff is polite and courteous, but needs more training when it comes to communication. Some of them end up placing incorrect orders or bring something else to your table. The hygiene can be improved significantly. The food quality and pricing is really good as far as the portion size is concerned. I love the duck roast, kappa biryani, mutton vattichathu and malabar parathas here. And I will always keep coming back for them.

Plain and simple place and they do it well. The traditional Kerala thali is priced well. They also have Karimeen, Duck, Quail that you wouldn’t get in most places. Also Saadhya on Wednesdays for lunch.
If you want to have authentic Kerala food then this is the place. We ordered tons of food and we're not disappointed. The place may not be much but the food is amazing. Must try. Best to get it delivered at home.

We ordered their biryani and fish fry.
The Biryani was extravagantly tasty with right choice of spice and less oil. The taste was also authentic and just right.
The fish fry was tasty too with fresh catch.
They also serve gracious amount of raita which we devoured. Quantity of one biryani has enough rice and good pieces to relish on.

Best place to get some really good Kerala dhaba style food that satisfies your tastebuds. The menu here makes you feel like home if you are a keralite ofcourse 😉 . Definitely a pocket friendly place.The ambience isn't so great yet the staff is courteous..

Awesome mallu food. Tried the malabar chicken and it was brilliant. The chicken varuthu arachatu was alright. Appam, rice and parota were great. Overall a nice experience!
My wife and ordered Biryani. The food was pretty good. The biryani was decent. Wasn't great, certainly wasn't bad. Somewhere in the 'acceptable' zone. Back home in Kerala, biryani is made with another rice.
Regarding ambience and service - for the price you pay, you just get the food. You can forget ambience. And for service, there was a cheerful chap serving food.
The food from this restaurant is really nice i enjoyed my meal. The portions are sufficient for 2 people and they are reasonably priced. Would definitely be ordering frequently from here ☺️
Today i finally walked upto this place to see it for real. This place has about 6-8 tables to seat 4 people each. I got what i was looking for, pothu roast and appam. Unlike the usual maida parotha,tasted the wheat parotha, nothing great or exciting. May be wheat is not meant for it. Had the yummy combination of pazhampori/ethakkappam with potthu roast. Ambiance isnt that great, but food and service was good. I would like to go again for a lunch some day.
If you want some authenic Mallu food this place is a must try. More of an order in place than dine out. The chicken 65, chicken biryani, kappa meet Kari etc will take you back to nostalgic Kerala food hogging.

Not much to say.. good Kerala style food.. finger licking good non-vegetarian food. U get tasty Kappa biryani, Kappa fish curry, parota etc. But as far as veg is concerned, it's not that great. Very okaish veg food!! Not at all heavy on pocket... If u feel like having a good mallu style food do visit once atleast..
I'm vegetarian, so I've only eaten the veg stuff here -- and it's better than in most other places in the area. The spicy dishes are spicy, and the mild ones are mild, the "Kerala parothas" are fantastic -- and it's absolutely great value for money. The portions are *really* generous, and the food is not too oily. My friend loves the veg thali, and likes to come here by auto in the May sun -- so it must be great :-) He also says the non-veg stuff is particularly good, hence my 4/5 rating.
Nothing much about the ambience. In fact, there's no ambience at all, but it still feels like a friendly place.
My veg recommendation? The paneer butter masala. The dish isn't from Kerala, of course, but they make it exactly like they do in canteens/messes in Kerala! :-)
For authentic Kerala food at a reasonable rate, try this place. It's a quaint little joint on Marol Maroshi Road which doesn't pretend to be upscale. What it does is serve delicious Kerala meals and dishes as the name promises and at a very affordable rate. It is usually open till 11-11.30 pm and delivers to adjoining areas of Marol and JB Nagar. The restaurant is spacious and clean and the staff are polite. Would have given it 5 stars but for the unavailability of appams. Appams aren't available all the time and I would like to request the restaurant authorities to make it available at all times. I'll visit for dinner very soon. :)

Having trying out the very popular benzys a few months back, a friend took me to this place which too is quite popular with the local crowd.
We went on a sunday morning as this is the day they serve their fame malabari style chicken dum biryani.
The biryani was good, not overtly spicy or oily, fall of the bone flesh with just the right amount of spices.
The duck roast and chicken masala went well with the fluffy appams and malabari parothas.
Amazing authentic keralite food.
The prices hit that sweet spot where you will keep going back for more.
I wouldn't rate the ambience as amazing but it does just fine and hygiene levels are pretty well maintained.
The food here is amazing. If you go there with an open mindset, you will not be disappointed. The famous chicken is something every foodie must try. Be sure to check out the fish items as well. One word of advice is order the food home because you can enjoy it with alcohol beverages as well. Very good food for house parties.

Located just a little ahead of the marol military road and marol maroshi road is this authentic kerala food place that i just love for its simplicity.
As the name suggest, this place has a great offering of Mallu food and its gets really spicy (if you ask for it).
They have a whole host of accompanying versions of breads including appam and idi appam at a throw away price. They gravies are rich and thick with Kerala spices blended in with the coconut base of the gravy.
The roasted prawn are a delight and you will hogg your way to glory without even thinking of the bill.

Visited for dinner after a long journey. Surmai pollichathu, though cooked nicely, lacked the right flavour. Fish curry and rice were all right. Ambience is basic and clean. Appams were over by 8.
Try their prawn chilli. It's very good. Also they had a duck special roast. That was good too. The price is cheap. Can have a full meal without burning a hole in your pocket.

This place is little shady, but still this place is clean and food is awesome.
Food :
Fish Pollichathu : Kerala style baked fish prepared in Banana leaf. The fish looks so amazing and tempting. It was very delicious, so I thought to order one more dish.
Chicken Pepper Fry : Flavorful and Juicy. I have enjoyed with Apple.
Malabari Chicken : It was hot, spicy and perfectly cooked. Perfect mixture of spices in Chicken.
Apple and Porottas are surprisingly good. Though the highlight will be Porottas, which are fluffy, hot and fall apart in our hands making every bite better than it should be.
Chicken Pulao : One of the best Chicken Pulao I had in long time. Quantity wise it's sufficient for two people.
Payasam : We have ended our delicious food journey on a sweet note. Simple yet unique dish to remember.
Overall, the place is good for your wallet and stomach too. The Staff is polite, friendly and quite good with recommendations. One of the best places to explore Kerala food in a cheap price. 😍😍

A very authentic and tasteful Kerela experience through and through. Malabar mutton curry had the taste of condiments put especially put in a non vegetarian Keralite preparation. The parottas to die for. All of this within 250. That is two very hungry women down ! Wait, did I mention timely delivery and piping hot service!
Finally had satisfying Kerala biriyanis- both chicken n mutton. The right amount spice and masala n well cooked meat. We have ordered chicken roast thrice, the first time was the best, didn't live upto to the taste the next two times. One of the best options to satisfy timely Kerala food cravings.
Even though the place is really small. I somehow noticed a place to eat from that too which served kerala food. I had ordered the palak cheese dosa which was soo good that still my mouth is watering when i mention about it. The place is neat but they should definitely think of expanding the space to accommodate more people.
After so many years I had the best Cheese Mysore Masala Dosa from India. It was really tasty and I liked the place even though it was small and crowded. It was maybe because I missed my hometown. The Palak dosa my wife had was also tasty.

I always end up ordering food from here and get it delivered, never been here once. So on sunday I felt like dragging my brother along with me and visited the place. Don't expect any fancy kind of ambiance but the food served here is good. Seating is very limited though. We got delayed because of my brother and reached there only by 3 so the food was not that hot. So you need to make sure to reach there by lunch time to get hot, yummy food!
Sundays are famous for their Malabar Dum Biryani so we had ordered that and Kappa Biryani. Malabar was a Chicken biryani and it was topped with a boiled egg and had a juicy tender piece of chicken leg. Now the kappa biryani has beef in it. Little did i know about that. I was only expecting lovely cooked soft kappa with rice but it has beef in it and my brother absolutely enjoyed it.
The service was good and our server was well informed about everything and he was very prompt in his work too.

The pullimunchi polichattu, mutton stew and chicken pepper roast are my favourite here. You can always ask them for the traditional northern boiled rice here. You can step in here whenever you want to go on a gastronomic journey back home.

Lets be fair, the food is greasy, spicy, loaded with masala, but more often than not - delicious. Recommended for the occasional binge every now and then, but two days of this would be too much in my opinion. Mostly takeout, though i've eaten here once. Small and cramped, but you're not paying for the Oberoi, so i wouldn't complain. The ularthiyathu dishes are yum, whatever your choice of meat. I also love the kerala chicken that's deep fried. The parotas and appams are also surprisingly good. I enjoy the occasional biriyani as well. Though they recommend duck, i've never had a good experience with this, often getting hard stringy pieces overly laden with tight hard fat.
Value for money! But doesn't compromise on taste.. Amazing kerala food. One of the best Porotas, chicken curry is simply amazing. Almost all the dishes are good. Highly recommend the place.

The staff is friendly,quick and efficient
Celebrated Onam by feasting on the lunch served by them. To pen down this restaurant a small joint accommodating 35 people at a time. Hence the meal had to be served quick and had to cater people who were waiting patiently for their turn.
Simple basic meal served still I would say all the items served were a bit tangy. As they promised 25 items which were served. Though I still fell that it could have been better. The owner of the restaurant was friendly and knew exactly how to get the customers moving so he can achieve table turn over. OK service as I cannot be harsh on the service aspect as the place is limited and bustling. Nevertheless will definitely go back to taste the spice of Kerala.
Tip:- opt for their ala carte menu as they have better options.

Authentic Kerala food. I love this place. I come here with my local friends. I like the chicken Sukha and beef roast . The ambience is good if you come with your school friends for a good snack. It's not pricy and you will be stomach full in 300 rupees
It is highly recommended, I went there on Onam, and my oh my, I ate myself out. Onam sadhya was the best. They have very authentic Keralite food. I am hoping to go some other day and have karimeen curry, and the duck roast.

If you are looking for taste of kerala, here is where you will find it. My roots belong to kerala and was brought up in MP and now working in Mumbai for 10 years. So I can vouch for good kerala taste, this is close to home that I could find in mumbai. I am not sure why there is a lot of negativity but as a frequent visitor I think this is authentic and as close as it can get. Also if you want to try the real onam taste, go there on this Friday before noon and grab a place. I have got mine and 3 for my gang. Anyone wishes to join?
A small hidden gem that made me recollect my trip to Kerala. Very small place. Fully non ac kinds. You will mostly see local keraliites around. Don't expect great ambience or location of this place. Its absolutely a no frill place. You need to visit this place only for its food quotient and nothing else.
Do try the karimeen fry and its fish pollichatthu and vattichaathu. The prawns pepper fry is also very nice.

Defending strongly a restaurant run by a Keralite here, and defended by a Keralite so this defence is inherently biased. So there is this killer of a serving of Duck Roast, a kerala delicacy and they make it pretty well for restaurant standards. You should also get a bunch of porottas and a chicken curry, which just go well naturally. It's disappointing that this is a Kerala restaurant without beef but i have been eating from this place the past two days and I don't miss beef yet. So if you are from Kerala head on to this place, others just stay away. Also, order in, the ambience is just not fine dining grade.
This place is near to our office and we are regulars here. This place has great options for breakfast which includes dosa (Kerala style thick ones), idiappam, appams, Puttu, egg roast etc. They open for breakfast at 9am. On Wednesdays they serve a full Kerala style sadhya..which us not very elaborate but good ...complete with payasam. Their porotta and appams are very good . Currys are usually spicy. Overall a nice place to eat. The owner is a gentleman and the staff is good and prompt too. Do try this joint out if you are in mood for some mallu appetite!

This is a small restaurant near Seven Hills Hospital in Marol. Easy to notice. Small place, has around 6 or so tables with each table seating 4. Lot of veg and non veg items including fish. Breakfast items include Idli, Idiappam, Appam, Dosas, Puttu, Ghee Roast etc. and are only available till 12pm.
I had Puttu, Appam and Surmai Masala. The portions are good and the taste is, well, better than most but I wouldn't call it great.
The prices are reasonable and affordable too.
Good food had chana masala Appam and idiyappam. Was okay.
The place doesn't totally serves authentic Kerala dish, but the menu item is unique to the area it serves and the rates also are pretty reasonable. rate to quantity ratio is pretty good, those visiting for glitters and glamour wouldn't be totally satisfied but the food here is decent enough to satisfy one's appetite.

I got a chance to have all three meals Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner i never expected such and authentic taste outside kerala, Everything that i ordered was fresh and tasty, it takes 20-30mins to serve but it’s worth. Price is ok, good behavior by the staff and owner, clean atmosphere.
Will definitely recommend to my family and friends.
