Laborum, literally a Latin plural for Labour, runs at quite a harmonious location in Malad inhabiting a mixed crowd of Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians.
Keeping this in mind, they have separate kitchen and serving area for both. Separate ovens too.
The outlet is well lit and serves a good number of cafe-goers in and around Orlem. The seating is comfortable and the ambiance is pleasant.
What we were served -
Iced Teas: Strawberry, Watermelon, Blue Berry, Lychee, Kiwi, Lemon, Peach, Cherry, Mango, Passion Fruit Iced Tea.
Served in trendy mocktail jars, the Iced Teas were refreshing and tantalising.
Veg Rolls: Achari, Kebab, Paneer, Manchurian, Corn and Mushroom
Paneer Bhurji Rolls.
Not the usual rolls we have at other cafes, these are power packed in good masala fillings accompanying your drink well for a quick bite.
White Bread Sandwiches:
Junglee, Chatpata, Coleslaw, Mexican Sandwich
Brown Bread Sandwiches:
Mayo and Tikka Sandwich
Exotic Shakes:
Blueberry Cookie, Red Velvet, Cookie Plant, Strawberry, Mango Strawberry, Lychee and Passion Fruit Shakes.
They have surely won hearts with their styled exotic shakes that lure people to gulp them down in one go. Cookie plant is a marvellous eye-candy and a budding shake you'll hardly find in town.
Fantastic Frappes: Tiramisu, Chocolate Cookie
Splendid creation of coffee, cookies and chocolate topped with cream and chips. You can surely beat the heat with these if you're not fond of Mocktails.
Miscellaneous: Hot Chocolate, Danish Pastries, Chocolate Tarts- chocolate & lemon, Cinammon Rolls, Chocolate Brownie.
Everything usual that you get in any bakery except for Danish pastry - Star shaped croissant centered with blueberry marmalade.
Pastries: Chocolate Chips, Pineapple, Strawberry Chocolate, Strawberry Vanilla, Butterscotch, Zebra Pastry, Blackforest, Chocolate Chips Vanilla.
Keeping aside Monginis, Birdys and chain bakeries in town, their pastries are a perfect takeaway for some dessert affair.
Constructive suggestions:
1. Make the mocktails more lemony and little less chilled to enhance its taste.
2. Improve presentation of rolls and Sandwiches.
3. Come up with coffee+cookie combos.
4. Introduce whole takeaway cakes of pastries you serve.
To sum it up, Orlem has got one good cafe in the premises to sit down, chill and drool over some lip-smacking snacks and desserts
