They serve alcohol and they have AC/NON AC, AC seems to better...Ordered the much spoken Chicken Ghee roast and neer dosa..It was amazing, properly once of the best chicken I've had in Mumbai!!..Overloaded and explodes with ghee it's a perfect combination with any breads, dosa...And then we decided to check out mutton ghee roast which was not as good as murgh but yeah it was good too..
Service and the Ambience was OK..I really haven't tried the other dishes because this was too filling...if you decide to visit this place for Murgh ghee roast and neer dosa then don't have any second thoughts!!!..

Just found my new go-to place for seafood. I found out after my order was delivered that the restaurant is managed by Modern Lunch Home, Sion, which has been a favourite for a long time. The prawns thali was delicious! And I love that they have ukda rice, as an option, instead of white rice.
I have been visiting this place since it opened around 2010. Now this place is very close to my office. Me and my colleagues often go here when we are famished for the amazing Manglorean food, especially the prawns ghee roast.. This dish is to die for... I have never such a good ghee roast anywhere in Mumbai. Other than that they serve all types for seafood chicken and mutton items manglorean style. This may look like a bar from outside but that a family section which is quite good.
A low key restaurant and bar with great food and satisfactory hygiene at super affordable prices.The prices of dishes and alcohol at this restaurant are surprisingly very low. Don't expect that you shall be dining with a very good crowd at this place, some people on tables around you can get really very noisy after getting drunk. Not suitable for family and kids but a great place to hangout with friends without a major blow to your wallet.

If you are looking for a no-frills, chilled out great service and cheap food, then this is the place to be. They have got one of the best tasting ghee roasted chicken dishes I have ever eaten. Try it with their neer dosaand you'll fall in love with it. The restaurant provides an AC and non-AC option as well with alcohol.

This is an exceptional seafood place, i discovered this gem recently on the zomato app. The food is quite reasonable and too good to be true. Tried the surmai masala with the ukda red rice and neer dosa, it indeed was an heavenly combination. Definitely a must try.

An amazing place to visit. The place is know for its high quality sea food at very reasonable rated. We had a lot of thing like Chicken Ghee roast, egg pakoda, Neer Dosa, dal Khichdi, curd rice, Lepo fry, Mandeli fry, Bombil fry etc. What stands out is all the fried fish. Fish is so fresh and well marinated and fried.
Service is par excellence. They have a small family room on top where one can actually enjoy with friends who are known to drink well. One staff is always stationed at the gate of that room.

This place is very well known for its malwani and seafood dishes they serve. Though they have everything on the menu, south indian, north indian, chinese and they serve alcohol too.
The chicken ghee roast is the best ive ever had and also the chicken kori roti. The place is simple yet good enough. The staff n service is quick n courteous. A good place even if u wana order food at home...packed and served hot n fast.
Ganesh palace is a nice restaurant , the food here is really tasty. Had the prawns biryani , chicken kori roti here and both were really nice. The alcohol here is akso reasonable.

Visited for a takeaway. Try their sol kadi its very refreshing. Ordered for mutton handi half (malvani style), bombil fry comes 2 ways with/without rawa and squid sukka masala. Mutton masala was good, it was cooked well. The gravy didnt feel like malvani. The waiter suggested i try rawa fry bombil since it was a takeaway and would remain crisp. Bombil was awesome. It was marinated well and gelled perfectly with the rawa. Squid sukka masala was cooked well as it was soft and the masala was good. These places also give you an extra packet of plain curry, tastes just like fish curry without the fish. Total VFM

Another place in the neighborhood for drinks and food with family and friends. Decent ambience, service is good. This is a part of modern hotel sion, the food is got to be good. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. For starters you must try the bombil tava fry, tandoori chicken, prawns chilly, etc. For the main course you must have the chicken ghee roast - this dish is a winner with tandoori roti, chicken tikka masala. The chicken boneless biryani is nice and well prepared.
This place is your regular restaurant and bar, of which the non AC section is full of seasoned drinkers and females usually goto the AC section for meals/drinks.

The best Non-veg Thali in town. They have a lot of variety like egg special, Chinese, biryani, tandoor, sandwiches, Malwan dishes, Fish dishes etc and the quality of the food is also amazing. The service is also very prompt and hospitality is at its best. The ambience is what makes it even special and the food is very affordable which makes a great dining experience for us.
Three of us went for a sunday lunch as parking is not an issue on sundays.There was nobody in ac section of the restaurant.Ordered chicken thali,surmai thali,prawn thali and fried bombil.Surmai was really good as the bombil.They only serve rotis and papad and not bhakris.There is an option of having neerum dosas instead of rotis but at a price.Really enjoyed the meal will go again soon.

Would just sum it up by saying that it is a nice place where you could hang around with family n friends.. Alcohol n food are both very reasonably priced.. Especially seafood, which is charged at a premium at many of those famous seafood restaurants.. The taste n quality is at par with those places, if not better.. Staff is warm and courteous..

Apart from this mouth watering South Indian spread they also serve some really good Chinese as well as chicken tikka biryani....

It was when someone from town told us about the 'Ghee Roast' you get here that we ventured into this place at Andheri East.
At the first glance, most wouldn't enter it. Situated in between a bustling industrial area, this restaurant looks like a typical dim lit bar. Well that impression is pretty right, but walk upto the first floor and there you have your family restaurant.
The best time to visit? During a match. The cheering, applauding.... & abusing will get you a total match like feel !
On other days you will see families chilling, kids yelling, office goers sharing office gossip...you know.. the usual.
What to eat?
GHEE ROAST : A spicy manglorean gravy fulllllllll of Ghee!
It has been over three years that we have been visiting this place, and the taste of Ghee Roast has not changed one bit! Their Chicken Ghee Roast is the 'Thhaannnggg' ... from the name itself we are sure you gathered that this is NOT for the calorie conscious... but on your cheat day... HAVE IT.
For the vegetarians you also have a delicious mushroom ghee Roast and a super soft paneer ghee Roast.
Neer Dosa : The best thing to have with your ghee Roast ( Yes we are obsessed ) . Soft and delicious, this steamed accompaniment can save you a few calories :P
Chakli Schezwan : Chakli ( Self explanatory) ! Their schezwan sauce is made in-house and absolutely delicious. If you are lucky you might just get a yummy warm batch.
Chicken Roast: If you like masaaledaar khaana, you will love this. Dry and very spicy boneless chicken, Roasted and prepared in spices that can wake up every bit of your insides. Keep some lemon handy... taste great with a squeeze.
Ghassi : A delicious fish gravy best eaten with Neer Dosa.
Their kebabs are also a good bet. Don't miss out on their Pudina Kebabs.
Sol kadi : A chilled glass of this Kokum - coconut preparation is the ideal summer cool off.
Their Chinese is also quite good and their quality will keep make you happy for sure. Chicken Crispy and Paneer chilly are two of our favourites.
If you are ever confused on what to order, just call a waiter and he will help you out in no time. Their staff is very friendly and never shy away from shooing off any sleezy or ill mannered customers that make other uncomfortable.

Typical south Indian restaurant and bar!! You will not want to enter it when you see from outside. . But seriously its totally worth it.. the family/a.c section above is just perfect.. ordered for a chicken roast and boy it was yummm.. well marinated and coated with delicious Malwani masala roasted in ghee..sure was mouth watering. . Also had the prawn masala with neer dosa which was very different than the prawn curries we eat at any goan or other joints.. this was more South Indian and yes awesome..and not to forget the quantity.. just WOW.. generously added prawns in the curry which completely leaves you satisfied. .
If you are a daalkhichidi fan.. You have to visit this place... Simple. This is a typical restaurant and bar place in Mahakali. From outside you might have second thoughts on entering the place but believe me when you over come that thought.. You'll be happy that you did. This place also offers great chicken however this is a hearsay since I'm a complete vegetarian. Place is one of my favorite Friday evening joints especially towards the end of the month :) its complete value for money and remember Daalkhichidi!

Ghee roast is the most unique dish that GP has. It is best had with neer dosa - i have never eaten something that melts so quickly in mouth. Sea food is pretty decent - try rawas tikka I'm sure u will like it . Chinese sucks though hence I didn't give it a full 5. The section on top is quite decent even if u want to take a female friend along ..its pocket friendly and service is excellent.
This place is simply awesome! Sea food is the star over here, fish curry is mind blowing. One more thing you can't miss is ghee roast and neer dosa- once you eat it, you will want to eat it everyday, it's that good. Komadi rassa is also good and nice quantity too. Chinese food is average, so avoid.
And ofcourse drinks are cheap , service is very good. If you sit upstairs (ac section), you will served by either Anna, Pawan or Sanjay! All are really very polite and much better than waiters at some of the big places.

I had the shellfish sukka fry, fish tawa fry and chicken ghee roast. The shellfish was very good, fish was soft flakey and had a delicious crispy crust. But the star of the show was the chicken ghee roast. I sat and hungrily mopped up the leftover masala with neer dosa and almost cried when it got over. The ridiculously cheap alcohol prices are also a strong plus. Will go again for the ghee roast.

This restaurant I must say is excellent for the different varieties of fish that they offer.... Their south indian flavours are really refreshing and the alcohol is pretty easy on the pocket too..... So its a win win for everybody.... Great fish and cheap alcohol for a nice lunch or dinner and the service is good too..... Their Bombay ducks and shell fish is must order here
In 990 rupees, I got 2 strong kingfisher and 1 squid chilly, 1 squid masala, 1 prawn koliwada to go with beer. Preparation was quick and good. Beer however was not chilled but did set the mood with good seafood. Honestly I do not have much knowledge on style of preparation of Konkani, Malwani or Goan food as what matters to me the most is satisfaction of tastebuds. No harm in visiting this place again.
This is just the regular bar, but the south Indian food here is awesome. Chicken Ghee Roast is a must try. This is a mangaloren delicacy, found in only a few restaurants in town.
This place serves amazing authentic South Indian food. It doesn't look like a place which would serve such fantastic food cuz its one of those just another bars of Mumbai.
They have amazing South Indian style curries and neer dosa to go with it. Their fish chillis are amazing. (Note: They aren't chinese style but south indian style thick spicy gravies)

But they have a coastal south of goa owner and cook..which means you get great malvani and manglorian stuff.. homedelivery is a great option if you want to order for family..they also have desi chicken handi which is rare in tyis area.. I have teied a lot of stuff and not been disappointed. .I don't how is the punjabi and veg stuff here.. if you go there the staff is nice

Had heard a lot of rave reviews about the chicken ghee roast here from my husband's colleague. Weren't too sure about visiting , so we ordered. Ghee roast, neer dosa with a veg malvani gravy and koliwada prawns with a malabar paratha.. The ghee roast was essentially an orange curry doused in atleast 200 gms of ghee and roast chicken pieces. (It is ghee. They charge 295 plus taxes for the dish). Way too overwhelming and oily for me. Husband seemed to like it. Neer dosa was tender and they way it should be and went Very well with the malvani curry that came with it.. The curry was light and wonderful and not overpowered with kopra like some of them are. Prawns koliwada were the usual fare you get everywhere. Overall an interesting meal. May be will check them out with a visit once to explore more.

Well, we all look around for restaurants that have value for money and are probably situated in the vicinity, so you could hop around anytime you wish. So yes, I have found myself one such reliable restaurant. I've mostly stuck to ordering sea food here, and I believe, even though not exotic, the food really exhibits good flavors. Their fish Gravy's are well cooked and I'm kinda addicted to the south Indian flavor they use in the preparation of their meals. Also, not forgetting, they offer you just enough good food for the money!
If you are looking for spicy food just to complement your drinks this is a place you can order from. Better delivered at home than a dine in. Value for money-4/5

This place came as an absolute surprise to me. Went out with colleagues for a drinking session and came across this place. We had heard it was a nice bar so we went on in. Halfway through the night, we shifted focus from the booze to the food!
We started of with the traditional combo of Chicken Chilly and Chicken Crispy.
Then we noticed that they had a large Malwani section in their menu. Decided to take the plunge
We had the Prawns Masala to start of with. It was DELICIOUS! The masala had the right amount of spice and coconut and we emptied the plates in no time.
This was immediately followed by a Surmai Fry, which was decent.
Finally the Big dishes came. An entire Gauti Kombdi Handi. For those of you, like me, who've never tried Gauti chicken before, its a strange experience. The masala was AMAZING, and the Neer dosas we ate it with melted in the mouth. The chicken was small and slightly stringy but had a wonderful flavour. As dessert we had Prawns Koliwada. :P
Still have to order home and see if the quality is consistent but it was a really brilliant meal! Plus their booze is okayishly priced.

I just wandered into this place, while walking down the street. No one spoke english, but they had an English menu.
I got the chicken tikka malsala, garlic naan, and hot and sour soup.
So good. Large portions, great pricing, and super fast service, but the best part is that it was all so delicious.
I’m a hot and sour soup connoisseur, and the hot and sour soup here was so awesome.
I wish they had someone on staff that spoke English so I could communicate how happy I was, but that is just a desire, not a complaint.
