I personally love this place for its ambience. My preference here is to dine under the open sky.. Best time to visit here is in the evening which makes the dining experience really romantic. Food can be rated between 3.5 to 4 star.
Although this place is located at a corner and not very clearly visible to everyone, this is a very underrated place. The food is amazing. Wide variety of cuisine, great service and the Wednesday VJ just won't make you leave!
Although it gives a very family dining vibe, can easily be a great hangout spot for friends as well. They also serve a decent variety of cocktails and mocktails
This is my 'catching up with friends' place, close to work, nice and cosy, superb at service, love the food, done a lot of small parties, always been helpful and supportive. Keep it up guys!

This place serves amazing food and with a good portion as well. You wouldn’t have to worry about spending too much when you visit this place.
The only problem I faced was that the music is too loud. So I wouldn’t recommend this place to you for a date or something like that.
On the other hand, it’s a good place for partying and for group meet-ups.

One of the best place to have non-veg and alcohol.The place is located near kala ghoda and it's one of the oldest and famous bar in that area.Actully the name kandeel refers to The lantern. The food is too awesome and even a little bit pocket friendly.The staff is polite and they even have a quick service.They serving style and they are so swift in service.Even you can avail the zomato gold for 2+2 Drinks.Food taste and quality is super awesome.

Place affordable only with Zomato Gold ;) As they don’t have happy hours concept Zomato Gold comes handy. They give complementary cheese bytes and peanuts for Chakna. We tried beers, vodkas in drinks along with chicken lollipops and liver fry for starters. Then cherry pineapple cheese dish was amazing, it came with ice crush and were pierced with toothpicks. Experience was yum!!

It was one of the amazing ipl screening night with their great service .The food and drinks are reasonable too and if you have zomato gold so good enough. The ambience is good too. You can also take your kids over there where they can enjoy.

Good place, good food, and the Gold works. More of a sophisticated bar , a level up from the normal local bar and restaurants present in Mumbai, and frequented by the working class in the area. Good place to wind down and relax with a beer
Based on my experience, dim light place with slow Bollywood music, looks regular bar but you will find more of office people during lunch. Their quantity is large though.

Overall my favourite restaurant in Fort, Kandeel is absolutely outstanding. The food and service is world class - there's absolutely nothing else to say about Kandeel. The ambience is also quite good! Totally recommended!
We went here today after a friend got done with her Ph.D. A silent celebration of sorts, and Kandeel did not disappoint.
The ambiance is certainly more of a bar than a restaurant with low and dim lights. We went here for lunch, and ordered the following: Fried fish, fried prawns, steamed rice, fish curry, and vegetarian noodles. They were all good with the fish curry scoring the highest marks from me.
The food seemed reasonably priced but their service was superb.

This place is conveniently located at near fountain, which could be easily find, food and excellent service is also fast and quick, music is rocking, a must visit place.
Let me start by saying the service is very good..staff is polite and friendly...It was excellent in terms of food quality too..what I liked the most is that they had this kind gesture of refilling these bowls with lovely eaters ...which kept you wanting for more...

A good place to chill out. It is one of the best and oldest place in town for food and drinks. You can term it as a vintage restaurant in Mumbai.
Quaint. To be honest. The set up is really charming in the evening. The food can definitely use much less oil, let them know when you order :) but the crispy chicken and the classics are all quite delicious. A great place to chill with your friends/colleagues. But the place is losing the crowd to upcoming restaurants, do give them a try :) they're not in the 'shady' category.
This was my 2nd visit to the lantern bar kandeel. Both the times I sat on terrace however it's more pleasant during winters. Food and service both are good here. Tried tawa fried prawns, fried surmai fish and chicken bhuna with roti. Good quality and taste. Prices of seafood are little steep though.

This is one of our favourite restaurants to visit in South Bombay. The ambience is great, the food is brilliant and the staff is super friendly. One of the very few places left which serves good Chinese food. And the dal makhani here is to die for! One should definitely visit this place if they are around colaba!
Amazing place for food and drinks. They have super happening Friday and Saturday nights. It's pocket friendly and staff is very polite and courteous. The owner is also very helpful. Service is superb. Must go place with family and friends.
It was relieving to enter a bar with an old school vibe blended with a tinge of modernisation .It’s quaint charm is a conducive set up for a sombre mood which gets us entrenched in extensive sessions of drinking & dining .
Divided into 3 sections , this restaurant serves no nonsense food with elan . The menu is reasonably priced & provides an array of options to choose from . We were overjoyed to unlock our zomato golds here which caused further decrement in our bill amount .
Also looking forward to visit this restaurant on their bar nights which are hosted on Fridays & Saturdays !
Have been here many times and most recently visited during one of the Fusion Friday events with a group of friends. The restaurant has a beautiful, cozy ambience making it perfect for drinks and dinners with friends. There is a large variety of food and the food tastes amazing. The servers are quick and very polite!

This place has been around since ages and I remember coming here as a kid with my parents! Be it the food, the interiors or the service quality - everything has evolved over the years and rarely will anybody be disappointed on any given day!
Since I was in the vicinity, I decided to step in for a quick bite over a chilled beer, given that it was a sultry Friday! I ordered a large Budweiser and it came with a complimentary round of "Chakli" sticks and a non-spicy Mint and Coriander sauce (Green Chutney).
I decided to try their "Mutton Sandwich" (for a change) because it's usually a Chicken in Mayo sandwich for me when I'm on the go! Besides, I was quite impressed by the description presented by the waiter! Truth be told - the Sandwich exceeded my expectations and is a dish worth dying for - literally! The mutton was absolutely fresh, tender and cooked to perfection where it just melts in your mouth! The sandwich bread was fresh as well with generous helpings of butter, mayo and Green chutney. However, the presentation could've been a little better!
The staff are very friendly and need not be requested to attend to your table. Even if the waiter who's in charge of your table may not be around, another one is proactive in serving you!

Being at the other end of the city, I try to visit this place whenever I'm around and that usually happens at least twice a year! It's a great place for family, friends or co-workers and at any time of the day!
I was in Kandeel on 4th July. This is a nice place for food and drinks for family too. The food was good mild spices but little salty. I think that may be the demand of dish.

Planned an office party here last Friday and place was utterly awesome... Originally known for it's Sea food delicacies also serves great dishes of chicken and meat. We were around 15 ppl in the group and terrace served us very well. Nicely lit place and very Good arrangements either. We ordered chicken tandoori which was very nice ..also ordered chicken wings and fish fry ... chicken wings were awesome choice... Place serves alcohol as well as good range of cocktails.... Very budget place in high class area like fort... Will visit this place again....
One of oldest place to sit and gossip around at fort, near the high court & stock exchange this one is a real stress buster for all busy bees relieving either by hanging around or a drink.

Kandeel is like thebplace to go for all lawyers working in court. Large searin area, average ambience and udipi fast service.
The indian restaurant with actually specialization in fish. I wud recomend more of the local fish cusine rather then the mughlai. Simply bcoz mughlai is run of the mill nothing bad but nohing tonrave about.
Their fish fry and curry are amazin. Unique and done just rite. Yes and drinks are reasonably priced.
We go here regularly as they serve really good sheeshas! It's a rooftop place, the ambience is good and the cost is reasonable too! A must go place for a SoBo sheesha lover.

This is a quaint, old fashioned kind of place, with dim lighting and middle aged waiters. Near yet very from the trendy new restaurants specializing in world cuisine that have sprung up in the Kala Ghoda area. Kandeel's menu is very Indian, with all types of chicken and mutton curries. I had a chicken kalimirch with roti and it was immensely satisfying. I liked the ambience too and the genteel clientele.
Located at the prime fort area, you see a lot of lawyers coming at this place for their meetings!

Great place for family dinner. Tangdi kabab was tender and cookd perfectly. Do not miss the Corainder rice. Top floor is reserved for hokah parlour. So opt for Ground or first floor if going with fmly.
Nice restaurant and bar.. decent ambience.. good food.. not that expensive .. bar is also available and the service is also good.. but only problem is that it closes it's kitchen early by 11-11.30 ..Pasta sizzler is worth trying.. Chinese food is also good..
