The staff at the restaurant is extremely hospitable and guides you to the best dishes on the menu. We ordered the prawns hirva masala which was so fresh, juicy with delicate flavours. The mutton pandhara rassa was very tasty staying true to its kolhapuri routes. The light music playing in the background sets a very jolly mood for dinner. Overall great experience and cannot wait to visit again:)))

Went for a family Diwali/Anniversary dinner here and boy, what a miss for all these years! To begin with everyone here welcomes you with a lovely smile followed by warm food. I did not even get a chance to click food pictures coz I wanted to indulge in it as soon as it arrived. There is also live music played that keeps you vibing. Dr. Suhas (founder) dropped by at our table and shared a lovely chat with us including hotel history, some of his personal stories that kept us smiling after our tummies were full. He also gave me a small token of blessing for our anniversary celebration. Can’t wait to visit this place with friends soon 😃

What a fun day at Diva Maharashtra ! There was live singing and the singer was actually very good ! This restaurant was part of a triad, all under the same roof, Diva Maharashtra, Goa Portuguesea , ( since tge owners wife is from Goa ) and Dakshin curry. The owner Dr. Suhas Awchat, an MD , a police commissioner, a restaurateur, who specializes in his putting his customers at ease regaled us with stories about his wife who is not only drop dead gorgeous but a custom officer and a celebrity chef and the son is a surgeon and well, seems like a very talented family and all we could say after he walked away from our table is that , “ Are you folks going to do everything or leave something for us ordinary mortals !”😂 A spicy afternoon indeed, the food was the way Maharashtrian cuisine is meant to be , spicy 🌶️! The chorizo, goan sausages, spicy and crumbled and the cucumber salad was yumm. The fried fish was fresh and succulent. it’s a great place to eat because you can pick and choose between three cuisines of three places , Maharashtra, Goa and the south ! Wish I hadn’t been on my perpetual diet, then I would have really rolled up my sleeves and gone for it ! #diva Maharashtra#marathicuisine#spicyfood#goodseafood#seafood#goanfood#southfood

One of the finest place situated in Matunga which serves authentic Maharashtrian, Goan & South indian cuisine. The ambience is beautiful and cozy which gives the feel of typical Wada style. The owner of Diva Maharashatra Mr. Suhas Awchat is very humble person and his Wife Mrs. Deepa Awchat is a master chef. They have 3 outlets in one roof i.e. Diva Maharashtracha, Goa Portuguesa Restrobar & Dakshin Curry Culture. Diva Maharashtracha is a world's first Maharashtrian Restrobar. The most interesting thing I liked about this place is that, there are 3 restaurants i.e. Goa Portugeasa, Dakshin Culture Curry & Diva Maharashtracha, under one roof serving three different cuisines. It is nearby from matunga station. Diva Maharashtracha has completed its 12years. The food belongs to various regions of Maharashtra. This restaurant is run by a beautiful couple. The owner's are very humble. The delicious menu has curated by Masterchef Deepa Awchat. Dr. Suhas Awchat went over to every table to make sure that all the customers are happy with the food & services as well. The ambience is attractive with the bright coloured overhead lamps. The seating was very comfortable and they have round tables also. From the door man to the manager every single staff member was polite & welcoming. They even have a Guitarist who plays on 4 days of a week in the evening. Also they serve Tax Free Alcohol. They take outdoor catering also. Coming to the food : In Drinks we had : Alphonso Delight : A mandatory drink in summers. Mangoes are fresh & real. Cucumber Mint Cooler : It was very refreshing which helped me to feel refresh. In Starters : Chicken Kolhapuri Sukke : This was incredibly delicious. Prawns Koliwada : They were so crispy & well roasted. I don't know about other prawns dishes but trust me this Koliwada prawns were very yummy. In Mains : Jungli Chicken : One of their signature dish in mains. It tasted very delicious. The gravy is of green colour, we tried this with amboli. Prawns Kalwan : We tried this curry also with amboli. The prawns were fresh and gravy was so tasty. In Desserts : Doodhi Halwa : For the first time I tried and now this has became my favorite dessert. The halwa was extremely delicious. Puran Poli : It is a signature dessert in maharashtrian cuisine. It was served with ghee. Best puran poli i had till now. Overall it was an nice experience. Would love to visit this place again. Highly Recommended.

Finest place situated in Mahim to try out authentic maharashtrian cuisine!! Beautiful warm and cozy ambience which gives the feel of typical marath Wada style charm.. The owner himself Mr. Suhas. Awchat is a very humble, warm and well known personality, Mrs. Deepa Awchat who is a master chef and the master mind behind all the three outlets they own namely Diva Maharashtracha, Goa Portuguesa, and Dakshin Curry Culture has curated each and every dish personally. You can definitely feel the personal touch in almost everything served here as none of the dishes that we devoured were over the top spicy and was tastefully done to perfection in terms of taste, quantity, and quality!! I would highly recommend you to try Malvani bombil fry it was the best👍 Kaju kothimbir wadi was bliss😍 Mutton saoji was delicious and ambotik is highly recommended 👍 Prawns kalwan had beautiful base of cocconut with tangy notes tasted absolutely soulful with steamed rice !! Lastly we had dudhi halwa which wasn’t mushy infact it had a slight bite to it which was perfectly sweet and garnished with lots of dryfruits, loved it😍😍 They even have some ready to cook masalas and a recipe cookbook curated by Mrs. Deepa which one can purchase and create magic from the comfort of their home for the entire family😀😊

This place is very easy to locate as it is just on the sidewalk near Hinduja hospital. The ambience and decor is very authentic and royal. They have music playing in low volume in the background which really sets the mood. The food here is malwani and konkani cuisine. The dishes are really delicious and cooked to perfection. The must try for me is the Nagpuri Saoji mutton curry with Amboli. The mutton is boneless and the curry is finger licking good. The spices are perfect and tastes really authentic. The best thing along with the food is the staff. They are very friendly and welcoming. They are always at your beck and call making sure you are having a great time dining with them. They also have their spices for sale for you to try and re-create their dishes at home. I had a really good time here, do check this place out.

This is a nice, happening place that can be visited with family or friends. The environment is casual. The place is popular with college students and aged patrons alike. Atmosphere is a mix of retro and glimpse of rural village style homes. There is a plenty of food options from Indian to continental. It was a pleasant surprise to see a number of vegetarian options alongside non-veg dishes. Liquor is served. Live guitar is played right at your table on demand. Staff is friendly and service is nice. The place does not play very loud music, which is welcome respite from many other clubs and you can comfortablely chat. All in all, recommended.

Recently visited this restaurant and it is actually I think it is a part of Goa Portuguese itself! Anyways the entrance was the same! . The restaurant ambience was nice, it gave a very Maharashtrian feeling, the Diyas and the images and the colour of the place! The seating arrangement was nice, there were quite a few good number of tables and they were all full so the place was well crowded! Mocktails: * Melon cooler* which was a nice refreshing drink of melon flavor and was sweet and a little tangy! *Cucumber and mint* which was a fizz drink of cucumber and mint and soda and was quite refreshing! *Fruit punch* which was again a fruit based drink and had good Flavor! *Cuddles on the beach* which was a cocktail and my friends suggested it was good! *Premium whiskey sour* which also my friend liked. So you can go for these options! In food *Malvani rava fry* which was nice crisp fish fried in Malvan style having that good spicy taste to it! *Prawns Koliwada* who doesn't like this dish! It's like you can have so many at a time! * Malvani fish Bombil fry* bombil is also one of my favourite dishes and I really loved the flavor they had in the masala. It was not too spicy and not too bland! *Hirva chicken* this was a good dish, the chicken was well cooked and there was a good flavor to it. *kolambichi karanjee* that is a savoury dumpling of prawns and cheese stuffed inside. The filling was really tasty! *Junglee Chicken* in main course, it was a thick green gravy with good quantity of chicken! The taste was nice, spicy and well cooked! In breads we ordered *Amboli* which is basically a set dosa kind of The taste of this with the gravy was awesome! Do visit this place and try out their Konkani food dishes if you are a fan of fish and Konkan flavours This is where you will get the aunthetic food! Overall: Food: 8/10 Ambience: 8/10 Quality: 8/10 Quantity: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Value for money: 8/10

If you are a true maharashtrian food fan other than the mumbai's local vada pav then you must visit Diva maharashtracha Mumbai first only and only maharashtrian food specialist Restaurant located at Mahim close to hinduja hospital. Was very excited to visit this place and had heard a lot about this place as this place is divided in 3 restaurants namely Goa Portuguese, Dakshin curry culture ,and Diva maharashtracha. fully owned by Dr Suhas Awchat (FMR SEM SP, Police Office /DR by profession) and his wife Deepa Awchat (Renowed Master Chef & Author who have won many prestigious Awards) Once you visit this restaurant do read their testimonials where numerous celebrities/ politicians/ news articles) have been written about their overall hospitality. it's not Dr Subhash who visit to them(celebrities/ politicians/ news articles) he have been to our table also explain how this restaurant history came into effect. not coming to the food we started with the draught beer and along with that we order Kaju Kothimbir Vadi (made of Gram flour, coriander leaves and cashews ) signature dish of MRS Deepa Awchat Mini Thali Peeth never thought thalipeeth can be in such wonderful presentation (mini pancakes of five flavours mixed with spice, tawa fried & garnished with garlic red and green chutney and tip of tomato sauce) 100% recommended Aluchi Vadi in Gujarati we call it as Patra which is only steam and sauted with oil but here leaves stuff with batter of chana dal (Bengal gram) flour, coconut and spices are steamed and then deep fried making it a crispy bite IN Mains Kala watanachi amti black gram (black small chana) cooked in coconut, tamarind and jaggery base gravy flavoured with garam masala (spices) giving a perfect sweet and tangy taste Vaalache Bhirde I am not to find out wall white pulses but when we ordered the flavour of onion coconut and garlic made me think to taste it after tasting I enjoyed a lot Along with this vegetables we ordered all the three varieties of breads rice bhakri (made up of flour rice) jowar bhakri ( made of jowar) and amboli known as maratha Ghavane (just taste like a uttapam) Desserts Puran Poli traditional sweet of maharashtrian (pancake of cooked Bengal gram with jaggery or sugar flavoured with cardamom and elaichi) and served with ghee Kharvas Another traditional sweet of maharashtrians just we can say as pudding made from cow or buffalo milk Everything we tried was Joy dropping to say the least as they use in house freshlyground spices under supervision of Mrs Deepa which enhances & elevates the overall test and make the dish aromatic The service is quick and the staff takes exceptional care of the guest we are glad when we get to know that a certain percentage of the profit earned is reserved for charity which is a applaudable we soon gonna to will visit the other two restaurants which is the Goa Portuguese and the Dakshin curry culture Thank you personally to Mr suhas who gifted a small siddhivinayak carved in betel nut as he came to know no about my next day anniversary Thank you Diva Maharastracha for wonderful evening

Diva Maharashtracha Diva Maharashtracha as the name suggests its related to Maharashtra and this place is dedicated to pure ethnic Maharashtrian cuisine of Maharashtra which was mostly ignored. This royal place recently completed its 12 years on the occasion of Gudi Padwa. This place is easy to locate by Google Maps. Located in bylanes of Matunga. This restaurant serves more than 150 Veg, Non veg and seafood delicacies with live music. The food belongs to various regions from Maharashtra i.e. Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh, Western Maharashtra and Konkan. This place is founded by Dr. Suhas Awchat and his wife Masterchef Deepa Awchat. The menu has brilliantly curated by Chef Deepa Awchat. With great food comes great responsibilities and they have carried them beautifully. This place has a beautiful and vibrant ambience. The seating is very comfortable and relaxing. You will be overwhelmed with the hospitality of the staff. Coming to the food we tried: Kaju Kothimbir Wadi: Made of gram flour, coriander leaves and cashew nut, served with green chutney. Tasted delicious and less oily appetizer. What a start to meal. Malwani Rawas Fry: Rawas fish marinated and rolled on rice flour and shallow fried to perfection. The minimal spices in this recipe makes sure it tasted yummy. As Salmon tastes very bland even after marinating for long hours and it doesn’t absorb the flavors well like other fishes. Mini Chutney Thalipeeth: Mini pancakes of 5 flours mixed with spices, tawa fried and garnished with chutney. The presentation is delight to watch. Flavorful and perfect balance of spices. Ukadiche Chicken Kheema Modak: Steamed modak filled with minced chicken flavored with spices. Amazing. Must try. It was delightful treat to the palate. Kolhapuri Pandhra Rassa: Winner!!! Chicken chunks cooked in almond, green chilies, dry coconut and coconut milk. Not tasted Kolhapuri Pandhara like this anywhere. Nagpuri Saoji Mutton: This is delicacy of Saoji community from Nagpur. Meat cooked with onion and Saoji Garam Masala. The spices and taste was so balanced. The flavors were bang on. Vaalache Bhirde: Vaal (pulses) cooked with onion, tomatoes and garnished with coconut. It’s a worth try option for vegetarians. Bharleli Vangi: Small brinjals stuffed with mixture of dry coconut, crushed peanuts and spices. Goes very well with Bhakri. Kharwas: It’s a traditional Maharashtrian milk pudding. It was an awesome end to the fabulous food journey here. Overall, it’s a must visit place for Maharashtrians and Non Maharashtrians. If you are yet to visit, make sure you do visit soon. Thanks!!! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Décor: 5/5 Value for Money: 5/5

Lunch at #ethnic @diva_maharashtracha what a renowned place located at Mahim, which is quite near from Matunga Station. A #restrobar dedicated to the proud #marathi cuisine of Maharashtra. The cuisiue of this authentic place was thoroughly researched, cravingly standardized and at last enriching the presentation by the founder Mr. Suhas Awchat and the master chef who is one of the top 25 chefs Mrs. Deepa Suhas Awchat. The place is niche of three ambience all together at one spot. Goa Portuguesa, a western culture cuisine, Dakshin Culture Curry, a south Indian delicacy and Diva Maharashtracha serving authentic maharastrian dishes. Royal ambience in which people serving tasty dishes with much etiquettes and a smile on their face. Although it was 2`0 clock of noon yet it was full house which showed how great they are 💗. On Table 21 😁  I started with starter Kolhapuri Suka Panner, it had the great gravy taste on a spicy end. Then I had Kaju Kothambir Vadi, I had with their authentic chatni and trust it tasted super yum. Then I had two mocktails named Alphanso Delight and Melon Cooler both had a homely taste and a refreshing taste in it. Then I had main course in which I had Patodi and Dalimbiusal served with Rice Bhakri and Jwar Bhakri truly delicious and had that essence of taste of the originator. At last in desert had Puranpoli and Doodhihalwa and the taste made my lunch 😋 . Must Must try 💕.

'Diva Maharashtracha' is an absolute delight for every aesthete with a discerning taste palate. The ambience is characterized by a meld of traditional and voguish décor with the atmosphere having an aura of chic yet relaxing vibe. The menu features oodles of Maharashtrian delicacies. So whether you're looking to give your taste buds a spark of fiery maratha spices or looking for a milder dining affair, you will relish the dining experience and it's memories that follow. The customer service is unblemished, absolutely impeccable with the order time being 10 to 15 minutes per dish. The crew led by Mr. Subhash C Sharma, collude together to make the customer feel at home with their geniality and hospitality, as they take them to a dining maneuver of complete gastronomic pleasure. Our table was hosted by Mr. Subhash himself and Mr. Kashi Mukhiya, who certainly made our dining experience enthralling. Appetizers & Main Course From the wide spread of dishes that the menu features, we ordered "Kolambichi Karanji" and "Chicken Malvani Sukke" for appetizers and "Jungli Chicken" and "Chicken Shagotti" with chapatis and ambolis for main course. "Kolambichi Karanjee" : With a generous portion size, these are karanjis or gujiyas (deep fried dumplings) stuffed with an exquisite filling of prawns cooked in a cheese based sauce. It is very appetizing and loaded with a spectrum of flavours. "Chicken Malvani Sukke" : Being a Malvani delish, this elegant dish is very flavorous. The chicken glazed with a malvani based masala is delectable and very pleasing to the taste buds. "Jungli Chicken" : A dish with a mouth-watering gravy rich in flavour, aroma and consistency, it goes well with literally every thing from the 'Breads' subsection, we had it with chapati and amboli. The chicken pieces submerged, were so tender and tasty. It's a konkan speciality that you will savour! "Chicken Shagotti" : This is another chicken dish with a delectable gravy that goes well with chapati, amboli or steamed rice. It has a very satisfying flavour. Drinks - "Platinum Whiskey Sour" and "The Royal cream" The former, is a variation of the classic whiskey sour with a twist of spices that bring in a dimension of flavours to cherish, amazing stuff. The latter, has a semi thickish consistency and a good aftertaste. They serve a variety of sweet dishes ranging from the goodness of "Kharwas" to dishes like "Bibinca" and "Payassan" expanding their gastronomic-territory of speciality to Goa and southern states. We ordered "Doodhi Halwa" which had a mind blowing taste and a burst of flavours. The dish prides itself with diverse flavours, it has a rare sapor that makes it an absolute delight. When you talk about authenticity and value for money, Diva Maharashtracha is one of the first-rate places in Mahim without any doubt, it's truly a gastronome's delight.
