This joint is ensconsed between the fish stalls on one side and all kind of meat on the other. A typical vegetarian would definitely have some issue entering. Well, for a non veg like me, this increases the appetite. Gone are the days, when this was a simple no nonsense bar + restaurant. They have renovated the premises and have added a touch of sophistication.
Apart from the drinks, my most fav dishes are Bombay Duck, Crab Masala with Neer Dosa, Garlic Chana. Make the crab masala spicy and you are in for a treat.

We order from Shagun every Sunday. The SURMAI TAWA FRY is to die for! Its fresh, has well balanced spices, its cooked perfectly, packed neatly and delivered hot and fresh! Its accompanied by an orange mildly spicy gravy, packed separately. Their NEEṚ DOSA is one of the best I've had, and goes well with the fish and gravy. Other items I have tried are chicken sukha, prawns sukha, prawn curry.. all are fantastic !

Never visited this place but we order from here. As Shagun is bar cum restaurant family can't go bcoz of the atmosphere and locality. But the food is tasty. The quality and quantity both are pretty good. There fish and chicken are die for. Didn't like biryani and prawns. Once we have order prawns handi which was sweet in taste so next time we order prawns masala and that too was sweet. But overall good restaurant. U need to try there surmai fry ,butter chicken and Prawns koliwada they are my favourite.

nestled inside the fish bazaar in saki naka this place is quite a foodie's joint. the surmai/rawa masala fry are wonderfull. nowhere could find such size and zest. prices are v v reasonable. just the place gets crowded by regulars during the evening and is not recomended with family.
Have been ordering saturday lunch at our office from Shagun for 5 years now. The food is indeed very good and at very reasonable price. Infact our entire office is very fond of Shagun food. Their kababs, chicken fried rice is indeed very good.
Only bad side is the access road from main road to the restaurant which is awful. The stretch has chicken and meat shops , the restaurant is small, simple table chairs.

This place has the best Surmai fry, the South Indian dishes (Sukka chicken, Sukka prawns, neer dosa) and surva in Mumbai. Since it is a local bar, it won't get the attention as the so called famous restaurants. But Shagun is my go-to place for delicious food whenever I am back in Mumbai. Try yourself and you will know.
