Wonderful - right from the courteous staff to food to ambience - everything was totally perfect - The manager was extremely courteous - must must try - pleasant experience

Desi culture.. a perfect name for this place..
good we did book a table for 10 pax for the weekend.. a full house place.. we here given a corner table with gr8 ambience.. food is nice.. good options also.. do order corn crispy, dal makhani(tell them to make it spicy if u like spicy food) & jeera rice..
A great place to hang out with a friends the ambience is nice and the drinks are as per bse rate ..food is reasonably priced and portions are good . The staff is brilliant and have great suggestions wasn't disappointed with any of the dishes
A perfect place for a north indian food lover. They serve authentic Butter Chicken and for starters even the lemon chicken is a must try. I went for a dinner on a weekday so it was quiet empty, but in terms of food they fully satisfy your taste buds. Even the alcohol is served at budget friendly rates which can make this place a must go for a fine dinning.
Visited here for dinner..
I was alone so have oder dal makhni and roti..
Dal makhni was authentic like punjabi food. worth of money to visit here..
Best place in kamla mills which provide u drinks at a vry cheaper rate... coming to food, wer delicious chiken sanghai style was so appetizing having distinct flavor...the chiken biryani was again very nice dish quantity was too good ...the ambiance was so pleasing over all a very good experience
Went there for a quick lunch on weekday. Place was comparatively empty. Its a part of TBSE chain hence they serve alcohol there at the neighbouring TBSE rates. Though lunch was not the ideal time to start drinking, we went for the food directly. We ordered for their famous butter chicken, laccha paratha, followed by ghosht biryani.
Buttter chicken was well made but was little too sweeter than usual. Laccha paratha was really well made and well cooked and surprisingly light.
Biryani was a bit of a letdown as we asked for lamb biryani bone on, and they served us boneless one. The biryani seem to have cooked in "kaccha biryani" style hence the masala was mixed with rice. I found it a bit bry for my taste, the biryani lacked moisture.
Overall ambiance is good. The place is located in the basement, so its peaceful than other joints and comparatively deam lit even during the day due to no direct sunlight.
Overall the damage was 1000 bucks for two, absolute value for money!
Head here for rare peaceful lunch in the middle of the bustling commercial district of Mumbai.
Ordered Paneer tikka today.
Paneer was soft, which was really nice. The flavor can get a little spicier and better though.
But still it is better than what many places would send you.
Desi culture is a part of BSE, they share common drinks menu and same TV's which show drink rates.
Ambience wise...it has a rustic touch, those copperish lights and hard iron furniture...full bar counter and some state of the art culinary set.
We tried their best( as suggested by staff) cheese stuffed barbeque Kumbh(🍄 mushroom). Half cut filled with basil and cheese...marinated with tandoori masala and barbequed, served in a small smoky grill. These were good to taste with some melting cheese, basil and tandoori flavour.
Then we tried jal Jira mojito....same as normal jaljira with some mint leaves and blue berry blast which was sweet.
In main course we tried veg Punjabi thali which was very much above expectation in terms of presentation and taste. Served in brass utensils...roti kimchi salad curd panner masala alu matar bhindi fry dal fry in ghee with jeera rice...followed by gulab jamun. Taste was far better than some of the top notch thali outlets..
This place is at kamla mills near BSE , very earthy interiors and decore, we ordered jaljera mojito and blueberries mocktail, mashroom with cheese and Veg Thali, what a taste and freshness in food, with excellent and polite service, specially I liked the presentation of food, check images of mashroom and our very own Khatiya for Rotis to relax on ;)
Desi Culture, unlike as the name suggests is not really desi! Don't take me wrong though!! We were around 17-19 people...the place is a bit small for such a huge group to fit together...so it was a bit clumsy ! And the staff was slow in serving. But the food!!! Well below is the description👇
Let's start with......obviously! Starters!
Paneer starters are always my favourite so that's the first thing I had on my plate. And it was just amazing! The paneer was soft and marinated well in some tangy spicy sauces!😍
Had some frozen shikanji along...it went well with the food...just nice to sip it along!
Going on to main course we had north Indian. Paneer Makhani tastes really nice and we also ordered Hariyali Kofta which was ok.
North Indian seems to be the speciality of this place. But personally one of the best dishes was chopper rice! Its a must try. Simply delicious and a nice variant of normal schezwan rice.
At the end we had some nice desserts...chocolate bon bon and rose kulfi. Chocolate Bon Bon was simply awesome as there was JUST chocolate all over the plate😍 Rose Kulfi...not good. Personally I don't really like the flavour of rose when it comes to drinks or ice cream so I didn't like it. Some others in the group liked it though!
All in all its a good place to hang out! Would come again!
Beautiful ambience and teasty dishes. The waiters were brilliant with their job and saw to it that out dishes were always full. Great service...
Food: The starter and deserts is what I usually look for ... So it has indeed relieved me with its brilliancy
Ambience 5/5
Food 4/5
Service 5/5
Rating *****
Seating arrangements can be better than what they have ... Some cushions on banches...🤣😉
This is one place which is value for money and good food
When you are looking at a working lunch setup or if you intend to have just a good time... then this is the place to be
Glad was here :)
I went here to celebrate my mother in-law's birthday. Booked table for 8 people and it confirmed very quickly. Ambience is really good. Food was amazing. Staff is very helpful. Overall a great experience. This restaurant charges 10% extra charges on the bill.
Desi twist i would say
Ambience is gr8 n friendly
Food i would rate 5 out of 5 every dis was amzing
Mocktails i would say 3.5 out of 5 as ice is crushed and added so the flavours were bit light.
Kiwi flavour n blueberry were nice
All veg n non veg food with speciality of chef was awesome.
Deserts were mouthwatering....chocolate bono n rose kulfi the presentation was more delicious.
Markable was the spl dishes were explained with the ingredients
All over everything wid food was amazing n freindly to go with family n friends
This is amongst one of my favourite eateries in kamala mills. This place is situated exactly besides BSE and has nice earthy decor. Service ia great. It is one of very few restaurants in kamala mills where you will easily get table without booking. Coming to the food..We ordered for shikanji, murgh ke sholay, dhaba style chicken, paneer lababdar and classis chilli paneer. Everything was great on taste especialy dhaba style chicken. They serve their rotis and nans on 'khatiyas' which is damn cute.. so some extra point for presentation.
The entrance of the place gives you an impression that place is really tiny but as you enter you are pleasantly surprised that it is quite spacious and you can order your drinks from BSE also which is adjoining. Food is good but nothing too extraordinary but it is served in a unique manner. Staff is quite prompt and friendly. Was majorly dissapointed by deconstructed chicken sev puri. It was just a simple sev puri with two pieces of chicken in the side. But all in all the overall experience was good food was decent.
This place shares it's bar menu with bar stock exchange. So you can take the advantage of low prices. The food was really good here. The only issues was the service. Even when it wasn't crowded they forgot our order and delayed it. Though this place has a decent ambience, youngster would like it. Also it can be a family place too.
Wanted to go to this place for quite some time now and finally landed up here for a Saturday brunch!!
It may look really tiny from the outside (Thts what I thought atleast)
But Is really huge with dark and good looking interiors! Loved the marble tables.
Service was impressive as well
Like the food came really in less time and the waiter was explaining the dishes well.
Coming to the food
Ordered Lassi shots and Nutella and vanilla smoothie both tasted good!
For starters had
Chicken sev puri - different but didn't end up liking it too much!
Prawns something- really flavourful and liked how they get it on a sizzling plate to make it look all fancy.
Rawas tikka-again really well marinated and tasty.
For mains could only manage to have prawns fried rice and on request they added chicken and egg to it which was great :D
All in all I really liked the experience this place offered and would like to come back Sooon.
The concept of this restaurant is unique and brilliant. The little bit cozy and dim light place served a delicious Indian and Chinese cuisine. From the time you enter to the time u say good bye the complete journey of your experience is overwhelming.
I just love the way the restaurant was decorated with desi stuff.
If you love to try different thali i think this place you should must visit. They have different types of thali and same normal dishes in interesting way. The way the presenting dishes it makes that place more unique.
Ordered The Sat Sri Akal Thali is a punjabi Thali and masala papad, i must say their are few restaurant in lower parel who served delicious veg food.
The thali filled with matar paneer, chole, dal makhanii, pulao, bhindi fry, curd and some salad, papad and my favorite dessert gulab jamun.
The place is pocket friendly and worth visiting.
Tasty food and price is also fine. Service is ok. The ambience is good. 😊 The idea of using trucks and bicycles to serve food in it,is quite creative.
So again this is an addition to the Kamala mills food outlets. The place is recommended specially for those North Indian food lovers. The staff is good , the food is great and very eye pleasing and most importantly it’s pocket friendly. The food arrival takes time but it’s worth it.
The ambience here is really okayyish. The music was not at all good. The food was tasty but its quite expensive. Overall not satisfied by the desi culture expected a lot.😕

Hidden away in the huge commercial area of Kamla Mills, Lower Parel, Desi Culture is truly a gem of a place. With prices that are extremely economical & food quality totally top notch, the place makes you fall in love with it.
It's located right next to BSE, this quaint, dimly lighted restaurant offers a great spread of Indian & Chinese cuisine. Both of which by the way taste truly amazing.
The alcohol prices are extremely light on the pocket making it an even better deal for alcohol drinkers.
Coming to the food, The Sat Sri Akal Thali is a punjabi Thali which is a MUST HAVE here. The flavours are on point. This Thali includes their signature 9 hour dal that is pure deliciousness.
Crispy Corn is a tit bit that goes perfectly with your drink. Coming to Chinese, the Chilly Garlic Noodles are pure gold. You must have these. Opt for either the Green Veggies in soy Sauce or veg Clay Pot main course.
Both the cuisines here are hard to fault as they are so perfect on the aroma & flavour front.
It's a must visit when in Lower Parel next.
My review is based only on vegetarian food. I would rate some of the delicacies 4.5 on 5 and some 3 on 5. But on an average its a amazing place to visit if you know what to order. Amazing because some of the food items combined with the ambiance turned out to be quite enjoyable. Since the place is big, you won't find it too crowded. You will enjoy privacy as the restaurant is spacious. The staff are friendly as well. But on the flip side they levy 10% service changes. The best part is their chakna "Crispy corn with bird eye chilli". This is now my favourite chakna till date. Super concept to come up with this. The chaat items are uniquely prepared. I enjoyed Jalapeno cheese Ragada Pattice. Avoid ordering Shorba as they are quite ordinary.
I am a mushroom lover. And this place did not disappoint. Cheese se bhara kumbh and Kumbh ki Galouti were delicious. Mushrooms were soft, juicy and well prepared. I ordered Paneer Satay and it turned out to be a mistake. It was bland and tasteless.
Finally the main course... Hariyali Kofta, 9 hour dal makhani with cheese chilli Naan... Just YUM! That felt so satisfying! Quite enjoyable indeed. But other subzi Paneer Lababdar was not that great... pretty ordinary.
Finally for rice we opted a chinese option... chopper rice... and it was an ideal way to close our meal.
Overall a great experience!
Been here for the first time along with my colleagues yesterday for my birthday bash which is located just below my office. Well...had a memorable time with like minded people. Right from the ambience, food and service quality all stood to our expectation within budget. Rahul, serving staff was very polite and gave us a quick service.
Kudos to the Desi Culture management. Looking forward to be here very soon.
nice place..ambience is good..service is quick n polite..love de way dey serve their food..thali ws yummy..even de chinese bhel ws really nice.
Excellent ambiance, i loved the decor.
Serves tasty food.
We ordered Chinese thali veg, chicken tandoori and chicken tikka, all were good.
Good place to visit for team lunch or dinner too.
Value for money 💰
The food was good, ambience was decent and cozy and staff was really nice and helpful.
Best part is they serve liquor from Bar stock exchange, so u can get cheap drinks for yourself.
Went here with a couple of my friends. The alcohol rate is very reasonable and so is the food. The ambience is good. Service also. Food quantity and taste wise is okay.
Wonderful food n gr8 ambience just gr8 to find the place like Desi culture nI don't have to worry about my lunch or dinner coz Desi culture take care of both so thanks will small word for then as the best to visit.
Food and service is good . Ambience is also silent .
But they charge 10% service tax above gst . I found that a little weird . Over a good experience
Ambience : good. Beige and brown colour interior with yellow lighting.classy look overall.thing Wat makes it different is its intresting decor. Space wise it's quite huge . located in the basement
Food :famous for its North Indian food and Chinese thali. The taste is awesome. For starters a must try is crispy corn with bird eye chilly which is served on a scooty. Garlic butter naan was served on bed.the spoons and fork on truck.they really know how to make serving intresting. Even test tube pani puri here with test tubes in nitrogen is an attraction . quantity is pretty good. So the food overall is worth for money.
Location :kamala mills
Basement restaurant
Service :great
Value for money. every penny spent is totally worth it
Would visit the place again
The ambience was good, the food was good. Coming from delhi, I found the north Indian food pretty decent here. The best part is that the menu is pocket friendly.
All the best !
Having gone through their menu several times, I was always curious to visit the place as it boasted of a refreshingly different menu.
Tried flavoured lassi which came in 5 different flavours in 5 shot glasses! The chicken tikka sev puri was also something different and was quite filling.
The portions in general are quite big so you get full if you order 2-3 appetisers.
Must try: Flavoured lassi shots
Food: 4
Service: 3.5
Look & Feel: 3.5
Just below the BSE in Kamala Mills is this new opened restaurant called Desi Culture. The place, done up in primarily beige and brown with yellow lighting, has a very classy feel to it. With large tables spread out over a vast area, the ambiance here is very good. Since the place had TVs featuring those Bar Stocks, I am assuming the place is run by the same management as the BSE above.
Anyways, coming to the food, we ordered different Thalis here as we visiting for lunch. Mine was a vegetarian Chinese Thali which had fried rice, noodles, a Chinese gravy-sauce, a couple of Manchurian-like dumplings, a Potato starter, Paneer Chilli, Crispy Vegetables and Kimchi salad alongwith some Schezwan sauce. Also, there were honey-fried noodles with vanilla ice-cream as dessert. Each and every item on this Thali was good. No complaints about the taste at all! My friends had ordered a non-veg Maharashtrian Thali and non-veg Punjabi Thali and both were quite happy with their choices.
The only sore point here was the service. The manager very rudely refused to customize the Thali. While I understand that that must be the restaurant policy but clearly there are better ways to say “NO!”. On the whole, Desi Culture is definitely a place which ticks all the right boxes as far as the food is concerned. I really hope they also up their ante in the service department.
It's an interesting place. They have the bar stock exchange terminal for the booze. Turns out that on Sundays it's pretty empty, and the rates remain on the lower side. The food is good, reasonable. Do try the masala peanuts for the sides. The parking in kamala mills would cost your pocket Rs. 150.
Delicious Indian food.
Value for money. 💰💰
Same concept as tbse for drinks. (Which make it even move better)
Ambience on point
Polite and friendly staff.
All this!! At desi culture. 👍👍👍

Visited this place with work colleagues. Interesting decor and wry Bollywood feel. We ordered Thalis - veg Punjabi thali, Maharashtrian thali & the Chinese thali. The food was really good but the portions were really large! Two people can easily eat one thali. Will visit again soon :)
Great place with great service. I found this place is reasonable compare to the other resto in Kamala city. Food taste is good. You will definitely get to see the complete desi ambience here. With Anshul Agrawal
A restaurant with a great ambience and feel but an okish taste.. We tried many dishes here but we loved only the raju chinese thali and chocolate bonbon. The lassi shots were too sweet for our taste
Went for team lunch with colleagues on a Wednesday... Place was largely empty n servers vr pretty attentive ... Had read a lot of reviews saying tht service was slow but I was pleasantly surprised to c very quick service fr all the food items tht v ordered.. Ordered lassi shots which vr ok, not worth ordering... Tom yum soup was very good (din hv it but others liked it)... Starters v had were: cheese se bhara kumbh : not a fan of mushroom so found it ok
Basil garlic paneer tikaa: absolutely delicious
For mains v ordered:
Paneer labaabdar: very flavorful n cooked well
Dhungri mutter kalimirch: good
Dal makhani: very tasty but not amazing, Iv had better dal makhni at Punjab grill
For dessert v ordered :
Rose kulfi: very stylish presentation whr the chef personally visits ur table n prepares the dessert
Chocolate with Bon bon: its a nice dessert, pretty filling
Overall good experience and I will definitely go back for the non veg food since all the dishes dat vr ordered vr veg.
Awesome food. Very pocket friendly. Very good service. Had lots of fun. Good music. Lovely decor. Punjabi Thali was excellent. All the items were good. Starters like Chicken Reshmi Kebab was v good.
I went here with my family of 10 to this place. We reserved our table at 10 pm but we reached early but they were sweet enough to let us in half an hour early considering it being a weekend. The vibe of the place when you enter is very uplifting.
The ambience is amazing and creative. The presentation of the food is great.
We ordered bhajia platter, gol gappe, paneer tikka, Chinese thali, Maharashtra nonveg thali, dal tadka, sabji roti and shikanji mojito and a lot more. These dishes our worth a try.
The place is pocket friendly and worth visiting.
Desi Culture ❤
Totally Desi 😍
Visited this place on a weekday ... music was high and the place was huge 😍
This place serves some terrifficc and lip smaking chat favours ❤
Ordered :- Bhajiya Platter , Jalapeno Cheese Ragda Pattice , Chana Lasun and my fav Crispy Corn with Bird Eye Chilli 😍
All these chats were perfect in taste nd presentation ...
(In the long run efforts should be made to increase quantity )
DESI CULTURE also offers RAJU CHINEESE THALI 😍
u heard it right ... Chineese Thaaali ...
Thali had yummy chineese fried rice ... nooodles , lollipopss , manchurian gravvy kebabs and Honey Noodles too ❤
The thali was stomach filling , limited and sharing was not allowed 😍
Value for Money was found but than Heavy Tax was charged 😏
Loved the concept , Food and Presentation too ❤
Surely Visiting again 😍
This place is good for north indian food and finger food.
Ambiance: This place is in the basement located next to Bar Stock Exchange in Lower Parel. The moment you enter this place you will find every corner different with different artifacts and different decor. Right from a wall of kettle to cubical, everything is superb and every table has a truck miniature which accomodates salt and pepper.
Rating: 4/5
Starters: They serve Pani Puri in a different manner, so the puri is served with a stuffing of potato, tomato and onion sprinkled with dry masala. The pani is served in a test tube kept in nitrogen jar. They are very delicious, a must try at this place.
The assorted pakoras are served in a scooter kind of miniature with green chutney.
Rating: 4/5
Main Course: So the butter chicken is must try at this place, very fresh and delicious. Their pudina paratha is very nice.
Rating: 3.5/5
Drinks: The drink comes from Bar Stock Exchange, so the concept is similar to Bar Stock Exchange.
Overall Rating 4/5
Another new restaurant finds its way at Kamala Mills, Lower Parel. The newly opened Desi Culture is situated next to bar stock exchange (BSE) in the C wing Trade world building. Since it was Monday, the restaurant was quiet empty but the décor and ambience was good enough. A tiny wooden dumper truck holding tissues and cutlery was placed on each table. The menu serves fusion Indian cuisine (Punjabi-Mughlai-Chinese cuisine).
I ordered Oriental Chicken Spicy Shanghai Style and Resham Murgh Tikka as starters.
Oriental Chicken Spicy Shanghai Style was a Chinese dish and spicy. I liked it but the only disappointment was the quantity which was less.
Resham Murgh Tikka, a Punjabi dish was just ok not great as per the description mentioned on the menu – ‘mouth melting morsels of chicken laced with creamed cheese and topped with masala omelette soufflé’. There were hardly any cream cheese and masala omelette on it. It was not tasty at all.
However, I must say that the price was quite reasonable. I will visit again to try other dish in near future.
All in all, it was a good experience 👍👍
It is a good place right next to BSE. The Menu is diverse with lots of options. Definitely have the burnt garlic Paneer and the Khowsuey. Good food and good service.
Lovely place with lovely food and drinks.. Its a part of Bar Stock Exchange. So the drinks are served on similar concept. A Must Try are the Pani Puri's here. The over hyped butter chicken here is not that great. I would prefer to eat only starters here as the main course is nothing special.
Desi Culture ... When you enter this place you feel like it's a really small place but as you go ahead you realise it's really big and the decor is beautiful. Amazing ambience with good playlist.
I visited this place on a Sunday evening. Expecting it to be very crowded I had already booked a table but it wasn't that crowded .
The place has good cutlery and there's a cute truck on each table for tissues.
The best staff .. very helpful and always had a smile on their face.
The prices of the drinks kept changing just like BSE.
I ordered :(starters)
1)Kumbh Ki Galouti: 7/10
2)Basil Garlic Paneer Tikka: 10/10
(Main course)
3)Paneer Lababdaar: 10/10 (must have)
4)Subz Biryani :8/10
5)Moti chur tart :6/10
The mocktail I ordered for was okayishhh .
Value for money:7.5/10
I'm definitely visiting this place again
Loved the food and looking forward to try other food items real soon .
A Must Visit Place.
Butter Chicken:
Who doesn't love Butter Chicken? It simply turns out to be universal favourite!
One of the best Butter Chicken in town is what I had in @desiculturemumbai 😍
Those cooked juicy pieces of chicken and the true butter in gravy makes me hungry everytime I think about it❤️
You really want to visit this place and try it yourself... Every penny spent was totally worth it!😋
Personal Recommendation: Best had with butter naan for a complete Indian Taste💕
On visiting desi culture, we tried some desi chaat here for the starters In the Picture Chana Lasun, Crispy Corn with Bird Eye Chilli and Jalapeno Cheese Ragda Pattice.
Chana Lasun ain't a big deal I guess a proper dhaba Chana Lasun is way more better than this. Jalapeño Cheese Ragda Pattice looked good unlike the taste it was average not as chatpata as our usual Ragda Pattice is, I guess the panipuriwaala does it right, he got the Swag!
Coming on to Crispy Corn with Bird Eye Chilli, whatever was mixed with the Corn I think it was great very yummy delicious just like the corn bhel I'd say the quantity was very little and if it helps it comes on a tuktuk 😋
We ordered the Bhajiya Platter which was actually Bhajiya on a two wheeler I guess there were two three kinds I ate the one with capsicum assorted in it.
The Strawberry Shikanji was juicy and spicy and sour just the way I like it
The Chinese Thali @desiculturemumbai was an excellent plate of bliss is what I'll call. Of all the things I'd like to mention I'm not a Lollypop Chicken Lover, but when I tasted the lollypop at Desiculture I fell in love with it, it was appropriately flavoured, juicy and the masala made me lick my fingers, I haven't enjoyed Chicken Lollypop anywhere else but here. Mocking on to the Chicken curry made in coconut base I think it was great reminded me of the Goan culture rather. The noodles were well made and the soya curry atleast that's what I remember it as was pretty good in taste. I guess they need to work on the Dessert of the thali or maybe add vanilla ice cream with honey noodle dessert? And if my suggestion is welcomed a drink shall do the justice to the Thali. Overall the thali was really good in taste and stomach filling. You Go @desiculturemumbai.
Anam Memon
Ambience is good. Light music and good food. We tried chicken satay from the mango special menu. It was so juciy and taste that reminded me of Asia.
Also we tried hajmola dahi bhalle and sev puri anar dana. Well the fahi bhalle def had a very good feel and presentation to it. The hajmola taste cud be felt in your bite. Sev puri on other hand was not up to mark but the staff was so good with acceptance of feedback. Main course we settles for north indian dhaba special.
I definitely would recommend this restaurant for a visit.. suprisingly they are so light on pockets too.
When colleagues decided to venture out on a regular Wednesday afternoon for a change in flavour, you know, mixing things up from the boring beige panels that make up our office, heading to Desi Culture was perhaps the best "professional" decision we could make all day.
The place, in my honest opinion, is definitely one undiscovered gem in the corporate jungle that is known as Kamala Mills. Right from the decor to the table ornaments (a quirky good trick, complete with the open top carrier) that acts as your tissue and cutlery holder, to their prices of cocktails, food and desserts, the entire place is a must-visit at least one.
But the best part for us had to be their thali. A complete value for money, Desi Culture offers a Maharashtrian, Punjabi and Chinese thali in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, served with a welcome drink and dessert. Believe me, if you do plan on patronising the restaurant, make sure you go on a completely empty stomach. You're most likely to waste a great deal of food. That's how generous they are with their portions.
Perhaps the only downside to this restaurant is that all of us left with burning eyes, as if we were confined to a room in which someone was cutting onions. Not exactly the happiest of ends to a meal, but there were tears involved. Bittersweet Ines in our case!
The service was toooo slow.. the main course came after 45 minutes.. thw food is just about okay.. butter chicken was good but dal makhani was just average.. their choco borbon dessert was really good
Located in the basement just below the bar stock exchange the interior reflects more of a Japanese touch . Coming to the food as suggested by them tried diwani handi for drinks tasted nice my wife really enjoyed lassi shots having 5 flavours for food we ordered reshmi murgh tikka which was covered with an omlette dressing the chicken was nice and soft but a little more spice would have made it perfect then came the hajmola dahi chaat and really the presentation was amazing but the taste was a let down in all a nice place for a get together
Read and seen about this place quite a number of times when in this area. Decided to go for dinner on a sunday evening its near by.
Date of visit: 21:30 on 07th May 2017.
The restaurant is located next to bar stock exchange in the C wing Trade world building. They are located in the basement of this building. Lovely decor with kettles, mugs, lights. Music also playing was good. Ambience is soothing and nice. I had done a reservation before on zomato booking system.
The restaurant was not much crowded at the time we entered. A mini truck with tissues and cutlery adorned the table. They have a wide range of cocktails and well stocked bar too.
From the thirst quenches we ordered the flavoured lassi shots. I read that these shots were good. I was pretty right it was excellent. I wanted to order one more round of shots. There came in 5 flavours which included mango, strawberry, chocolate, passionfruit and Jack fruit. This thirst quencher definitely to be given a shot👌
For starters we ordered the resham Murgh tikka which was topped with creamed cheese and masala omelette souffle and served with mint chutney and pickled onions. This starter was tasty too. From the chaat section we ordered the jalapeño cheese Ragda pattice which came in a bowl. It had cheese, butter Ragda topped with crumbled puri and it was yummmy.
For main course we ordered the murgh dhaba special which was oven roasted chicken in aromatic gravy with naan. The gravy was a bit spicy for my taste but it tasted good. Too full we couldn't try any desserts.
Service is little slow at times and we need to get the attention of wait staff.
Pricing is ok with taxes definitely more.
Varied items on the menu and presented in deconstructed form will like to sample few more. We didn't have the thali coz were told it's limited and we couldn't share so we choose to order gravy. This place can be given a try.
It seems to look like a very tiny place but going down stairs we saw what really it was. Super huge. And crowded. Me and my friends went there for the butter chicken offer and it was TOTALLY worth it. Also ended up having chicken biryani. Which was totally worth the price. And amazing quantity for 3 people. Also the rates are quite good. A pint of beer in 120 bucks. That's pretty cheap. A must go. Being busy and seeing the staff being quick with their service was totally appreciated.
Decent place. Right next to BSE. Alcohol is cheap compared to other places in this vicinity. Had ordered Chicken Satay, Prawns Fry, Chicken Tikka Shev Puri. Satay was good but prawns fry and chicken tikka sev puri was really disappointing. Ok to visit one time.
This place is basically 'bse minus the DJ/loud music and the crowd'
The alcohol menu works same as the one at bse. Infact they use the same bse app to order alcohol (the whole market demand and supply theme).
We head to this place on a Friday since everyplace else had most than 50mins of waiting. This place is in the basement and the entry is just next to BSE. Food is good (can't comment much since we orders only one starter and that was pretty tasty).
BSE we tried and the person in charge told us...the place had like 48 ppl standing and this empty just next door was empty.
If loud music isn't ur thing definitely shud skip BSE and head here.
This eatery has opened recently and is situated right next to BSE in kamala mills. We walked in for a Saturday night dinner and surprisingly the palace was empty with few tables occupied at 8:30. They have a very nice decor giving that desi touch to this place.
Now coming to the food let's go in a sequential form
Mutton Galouti Kebab- I am a big fan of Galouti Kebab but after tasting the Galouti Kebab here I can definitely say my search for a perfect galouti Kebab in Mumbai continues.
Dabba Gosht- This was presented in a small steel Tiffin box which was quite unique and full marks for presentation but I can't say the same for the dabba gosht though which was more on the oily side and definitely you can give this one a miss here
Punjabi Non-Veg thali- This dish really saved the day though the the non veg dishes were quite few but definitely more tastier than other two dishes mentioned earlier. Thali consisted of a bowl of bhendi, channa masala, dal makhani, butter chicken, two pieces of chicken tikka and moti choor ladoo. Overall the thaali was very tasty and worth the money spent.
Final verdict- This place is a must try at least once though the food quality needs to be improved to survive in the long run.
Been here on Sunday for lunch
Comparative to other restaurants around Lower Parel it was quite empty
So no need for reservation
Decor quite classic it is same as the previous restaurant over there
They have not changed anything on the decor front quite spacious and well lit
From outside the entrance is quite unhappening
But once you enter you enjoy the space
For starters we ordered black pepper paneer which was very yummy mildly spiced to give the taste of pepper without overpowering the dish
Also ordered vegetables in manchurian gravy
Awesome taste
Quantity is quite good
So were almost full but tried dahi wada with a twist
Chef presented this dahi wada with nitrogen
The most unique item but taste was could be better
Loved the flavoured lassi all flavours were yummy
Even ordered frozen shikanji very good
Service was very good
Would like them to change their glasses in which they serve water
Prices quite reasonable
Would certainly visit again to try their main course
Every new place in Kamala Mills is now in my "Go To List", and today I chose to try out this place.
I could not be more impressed by this place. As soon as you open the large red door, you enter the most soothing atmosphere with beautiful interiors decorated with crockery. Everything is upto the mark.
We started with Basil garlic paneer tikka. It was soft, perfectly barbequed and yummy! Next we had Hajmola dahi bhalla with jaljeera sorbet- it was the most creative dahi bhalla ever. The yogurt was frozen at the moment by the chef using liquid nitrogen. Fun moment to witness that .
In the main course we had Makai mirch hara pyaza - again very delicious and a good quality that shall suffice for 3-4 people. The bread was present beautifully on a mini khatiya.
To conclude the lunch we ordered rose kulfi served with frozen gulab in desert. The chef again froze the pink rose with liquid nitrogen in front of us which really tasted amazing with the gulkand they served .
Overall I am really happy with the experience !
Ambiance - 5/5
Food - 5/5
Music- 5/5
Service - 5/5
Shall definitely visit again, this time time to try oriental food.
So it's a very nice place next to BSE in Kamala mills.
There is a very small board which generally goes unnoticed
This place has got nice n tasty food. They have got 3 types of Thali
Punjabi Marathi n Chinese
Though it's not unlimited thali system but serving are more than enough
We had ordered Chinese n Punjabi thali.. n they both were good n tasty
However I feel there was Dahi n salted lassi served together which was of no use
There dessert serving can v
Be improved if they serve that in different plate.
Overall good experience n reasonale
I went to this restaurant last Friday for lunch with two of my office colleagues and boy was I in for surprise. Located in the underground cellar beneath Bar Stock Exchange, this restaurant has optimal lights with amazing interiors and music all adding up to the perfect ambience.
The menu has some great choices but be sure to try the Butter Chicken in the main course which is sure to tingle your taste buds!
The alcohol is very economically priced and the choices span across variants so you are sure to find something you like for a price you can easily afford.
They have both seats as well as cozy corners so make a booking as per your group size for ease and comfort. Hope you have a good time. Cheers!
I never expected to find a place serving this cheap alcohol! The place is nice, and despite being located in kamla mills its extensively cheap! The food is good, a must try is the butter chicken and tawa paneer ! Over all it was lovely, looking forward to visit this place again !
Went there to have the butter chicken for ₹10 (which was really nice but could have been better) during the butter chicken week, it is right next to bar stock exchange with a small red door as the entrance. The ambience of the place is good and the service is prompt but lags behind during rush hours.
It's a basement restaurant serving Indian & Chinese food. Since we went there on a weekday, the place was empty. First things first , talking about the food here , there are some things which are amazing and some things which could do with a bit of improvement. For starters we'd ordered red velvet dhokla ( which was a normal dhokla with red food colouring which was made to look like a red velvet cake, give it a miss.... not worth it) , jalapeño cheese ragda Pattice ( this was great, do try this out ) , deconstructed chicken tikka ( which was average to be honest), murgh ke Sholay ( nicely made kababs and even the presentation was great ) and lastly the best starter which was Kung pao chicken ( so freaking delicious) . We had ordered a punjabi thali each for main course which had - butter chicken ( which was the star of the thali and the only thing except for nan that I could finish) , dal makhani ( which was average ) and chole and some potato Sabji which no one even bothered to touch. There was also nan, rice , Dahi, papad , chaas (which was horrible) and gajar ka halwa (which was toooo sweet ) . I am mentioning the contents of the thaali coz the waiter attending to us didn't tell us what all would come in the thali except for butter chicken and nan , so we underestimated it and eventually ended up wasting food . You could give the thaali a miss and just order the butter chicken with some naan.
The decor is very oriental , they also have cute little trucks on the table to hold the cutlery. The menu could be a bit more organised so that it makes stuff easy to order.
Overall it's a good place for lunch with your friends .

Been to this place for dinner last week, heard about a promotional offer..
Panner butter masala for 10 bucks only and same is the case with chicken butter masala..
Yes.... Even I Could not belive it when i heard about the offer first... But its true! (or should I say it was true). And I believe it's a really good way to attract customers.
Ambience excellent, service a bit slow takes a lot of time, even to get a table it takes alot of time... Queue outside was huge.
Food was superb, I look forward to visit this place next time soon !
So this is one of the new additions in Kamala mills area, next to Bar Stock Exchange. It's a nice place in the basement. The ambience is great where you have tables and chairs of all sizes to add variety. The place is well-lit with pretty pictures on the wall and some innovative objects on the table - like a truck for your fork and spoon and a 'mini chaarpaai' for your rotis and naans. As a welcome offer they served butter chicken and paneer tikka at ten rupees thus this was the meal we had because they claimed this to be their signature dish. The butter chicken was nice and creamy but it tasted like tomato soup which was quite a let down. The quantity was sufficient for two people. I'm hoping to try this place again with its new dishes. Definitely worth a visit. Sadly, the butter chicken at 10 rupees offer ended today.
Sunday evening with friends.. to this newly opened place. Of what I read about the previous negative comments.. seems that they have learned from it.
They have merged with bar stock exchange which is just opp to them. So double fun as with alcohol. Perfect cost thing.
Perfect ambience .. it was all
Good thanks to our host Clavan.. he was busy with most of the crowd..
Food was too good as suggested by our host he knows the taste. Plus they serve with unique containers or a thing....
Overall it was good experience. I am definitely coming back again.
Do visit this place you won't be regretted. Cheers.
Food here is great.💁🏻♂️
They have merged with 'The Bar Stock Exchange' so now boozing here is an good idea🤘🏻🍻🍻🥃
Ambience is good🤗😌
Value for money is great⭐️⭐️
Service is good⛄️
Difficult to locate this place in Kamla Mills as it is pretty much hidden next to BSE in Kamla Mills. Heard of this place through a colleague. The place is in the basement and offers majorly north Indian and Chinese food. There is also very economical thalis however I did not get a chance of try them. I tried the ala carte menu of makai hara pyaaza ,butter roti. My friends tried the open butter chicken which had some offer. The quantity was very less the roti was very small. However it was tasty, there is a issue with the waiters and the service is very poor and slow. The dessert was really inovative (rose kulfi with jeera chikki) and really delicious. The place feels a little bit claustrophobic. The place needs to get their waiters organised a bit and look at the pricing of some items (it is a little bit expensive for the quantity and the quality that they offer). The alcoholic beverages were very decently priced.
Good place. Big seating area, so even if it gets crowded you get ur space. Lovely food and good portion sizes. Courteous staff and happy to help. Since we went quite early, we got to choose where we wanted to sit. Value for money indeed. Good place to hangout.
Located in the vibrant Kamala Mills, Desi Culture serves Great Butter chicken. Amazing ambience.
The staff needs to be trained to serve the customers a little more nicely.
Wonderful place. Good ambience with justified price for all the food. I had Kofta with saag roti and both were tasty. Good presentation of food in unique cutlery for each dish just makes your food more enjoyable.
Good place to celebrate with your family and friends. Staff is very helpful. Overall a good experience.
Good place. You will have same concept here as of bar stock exchange. You can trade on mobile. Good is good. Only thing which worry is fire exit. After all it's in Kamala mills compound.
Desi Culture serves Indian cuisine without any twists. The ambience is great and service is prompt.
Tip: It is from the house of BSE and has the same rates as the Bar Stock Exchange next door. So if you are a group of stags and cannot sneak into BSE for cheap booze, you know where to go.
This place is attached to BSE. Food is great as are the drinks. Just wish they had more authentic Indian sweet dish and desserts to go with the desi cuisine.
Nice place. Good ambiance and tasty food. It's a part of BSE chain so drink prices keeps changing.
I was here last week to celebrate my friends bday & the place didn't disappoint us...lively environment... quick service... awesome food 👌👌👌
Food is amazing. Ambience is nice. Service os good. Overall, a cool place!
Nice place.. Same rates as BSE. Superb Indian chaat menu..
Some.of the best galouti kebabs I've ever had! Reasonable pricing for amazing food!
Its cozy, spot on pub ambience, poor on service, ok on food...
Good food. Lovely presentation. Cool place for groups
Nice ambience, great variety of food. Taste good
Alcohol prices same that as of bar stock exchange, however the food menu is very limited
Great food, must try the black dal and cheese naan
Ambiance is good. Food is awesome
