One of the last few remnants of classical Mumbai eateries. Delicious food and great prices make for a thrilling experience, especially if you're running low on the buck. Rustom is helpful and the staff is always on their feet. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place in Mumbai that's still stuck in time.

Drinks are really cheap. Food is not that great. Very close to the sea, so you can hangout there.
the ambiance is really classic like 90's with a jukebox inside thecafe. I tried chicken chili and Parsi Akuri (egg dish) with beer. Many times I came at girgaon Chowpatty but first time I explore this place. which is running from 2 decades. Must try Parsi Akuri if you don't try any Parsi dish.
One of the oldest bars in Mumbai. Located in the heart of the city. This place has the same old charm. They have made it little modern. They play all old songs hindi songs.. Majorly the 60's to 80's era. The@ ambience is good. The service is good. The food is little expensive and so are the drinks. But it is worth an experience. The crowd you'll see here would mostly comprise of old people who have been coming here for decades.

Guys u all have to be here to see the differences now..what it was to what it has bcom.wow.it has improved it's interiors and its food too.u get Indian , Chinese, Tandoor ,Sizzlers ,Pastas. Services....zomato does not have the entire menu on it to even its interior pics..it's a different feel now..

I also ordered Chicken Spring Roll for starters. It was nice. Good quantity was given.
I also ordered Chicken Crispy. Wow. I never used to like this dish but now I really do!
I found this place cheap in alcohol but bit costly in food! But really good place to chill at! This place also has a jukebox! Yay!
The interiors are also decent and nice! Washroom needs to be more good though! I hate washrooms that doesn't have hand shower! Please install it! Rest everything is amazing! Will look forward to come again!
Been here with friends for quick drinks, the place is good, pocket friendly, though you'll not get a lounge experience but good place to hangout with descent music 🎶...!!!

Old world charm! Thatz what comes to ur mind when u step in. This place has been a safe landing zone for many students from the 2 colleges around (Won't name the institutes as I am gonna talk about booze 😜)
Cafe General has served many generations and still remains a popular joint even though fancy places have sprouted around the seaface. It's now run by a younger fellow so u won't see a regular Bawa uncle at the counter but the eccentricity is visible ;)
They now serve starters and main course too. A massive change to what was offered 10-12 years back. They have a juke box too so you can play your fav songs. The service is prompt and they only accept cards if ur min. bill is 500 bucks. Else cash only. Awesome view of chowpatty if u get the right table. If you wanna enjoy the sea view during monsoons, visit this place which is worth it and trust me it will not burn a hole in your pocket.
Our old memories with this bar and Sherri uncle spent 4 years of daily life 7pm to 10pm drinking with group in A/C section most original alchohle and limited services.....but recently Rustom has improved starters a lot
Absolutely decent place on location and reasonable on pocket.Alcohol is quite cheap.Unfortunately the air-conditioned part was not working when we visited.Starters are ok.Staff is good.
Decent place to grab a drink with your pals, anytime you are in that locality. Very easy on the pocket. I like the ambience, plain and old school charm. One must not go there for food though. Hahaa... frozen aloo tikkis were served. Funny... can pass off only bcuz they have a juke box. Bonus* Bonus*
An excellent place to have drinks and chill out while listening to a wide range of songs on the jukebox. The owner is also a very helpful and friendly guy and once you get used To the beach view you wont go any place else. Do visit once and try. Just for information the place exists before 1947.
Sea facin resto & bar with cheap booze and good food. If u want to spend a peaceful eve with sum booze n snacks watchin d changing colors of mumbai's evenin sky, dis wud be d apt place. Ambience is not very good.
I’ve been coming here since 2004 before it got renovated and now even better after renovation. Good crowd and reasonably priced drinks if you consider the location it is in.
One of the oldest bars in south mumbai and a must visit atleast once to feel the vibe of the place.
Also, to go along with the drinks some amazing starters and obviously the sizzler out here is a must try.
The food were delicious and the pricing was very reasonable...The staff were very courtes and helpful.
Excellent service, good ambience, order anything on the menu and you will be more than pleased. The owner Mr. Rustom is a hands on person, which explains why this place stands out amongst peers.

I have nothing to say about the atmosphere cos it's like everything.. a drink facing the sea just bang opposite girgaum chowpatty.Dimly n beautifully lit just like the color of a 30 ml scotch whisky.

This place has a old world charm and has all types of hard and soft drinks. It also has an old world charm juke box. The place is opposite to Chowpatty and has amazing views and breeze.

Cafe general is an emotion..perfectly placed just opposite arabian sea and girgum chowpatty..rustom bhai and his team is just an iceing on the cake for this place..vibes is just something needs to be experienced..
This cafe give retro vibe of old bombay (mumbai) juke box is the best thing and please do order butter pop corn best time is to visit noon time
