Best for sea food and non veg items.. Pocket friendly... Staff behaviour is appreciable.. The Manglorian dishes and fish dishes are really tasty.

Ordered Chicken Sukka/Chapati and Sol kadi turned out to be good and yummy they served extra gravy as well..that was add on ..
I have ordered thali multiple times from this place and every time I have been satisfied to the fullest. They serve some nice tasting fish thalis..
Their BOMBIL fry is to die for very likely its the best we have ever had. Its chutney is lovely.

Discovered this on Zomato on a Saturday night as we were craving for seafood and am so glad we ended up here.
This place is a bit tricky to find in Malad as there are other restaurants called Konkan Swad in Malad and Goregaon. Do follow the directions through zomato and it will take you there. This place is pretty old and from the outside it looks like an Udupi restaurant but as soon as you get in you know you have come to the right place.
We ordered a bombil thali, surmai thali, Prawns gassi with neer dosa, Prawns pulao, Lepa fry and squid Koliwada.
Both the thali's had Suran as a vegetable option with Kokum kadi, chapatis and rice.
The bombil thali had nice crisp bombil fry and the surmai thali had a surmai gravy which was outstanding. The gravy which they served in the thali had a typical Malvani taste to it, with rice and chapati it taste even better.
Prawns Gassi with neer dosa was also very good, the gravy had nice coconut flavour to it and with beer dosa it tasted much better.
Squid Koliwada - Was not upto the mark as the flavour used was Chinese and dint go well at all because it was over cooked. When we gave a feedback for this one they said the squid masala is better as cooked in Malvani masala. So do not try the Koliwada option.
Lepa Fry - Was fried just like the bombil's and tasted very good.
Prawns pulao - This one was recommended and we tried it and it was amazing, had a typical pulao and Malvani flavour to it. The prawns pieces were also good in portion.
The overall experience was really good and we were stuffed at the end of the day. The Kokum Kadi is to die for 😍 Do try these options if you visit this place as we left with a smile on our face.
This place is value for money as we paid only INR 930/- for all this.
The staff is friendly too and would come over to your table and suggest you some stuff to order.

Must must must visit place. The most flavourful konkani rest I have found till date in Mumbai. Awesome fresh seafood. My 4th or 5th visit over last 3 months.. never disappointed with even a single dish. Perfect blend of spices, not bland yet not very spicy, just right.
Crab Masala: Fairly cheap for the size of the crab. They have fresh crabs which they let u choose before they cook it for you. Full of meat and just the right amount of spice.
Pomfret Fry: you and fresh. Found little under spiced. They could make it little spicier for sure
Prawns Pulao: this was amazing, bursting with multiple flavours and loads of of pepper. Good no of prawns in it that too fairly large sized. Have had this every time we have gone here.
Kheema Masal: now this one took me by complete surprise. I was scared to order this thinking that this would be a sea food speciality place. But believe me this was out of the world types. Yumm delicately flavoured and well cooked kheema. Freaked out on it.

My point: small AC place located on main Link road, this one is a gem of a find for sea food and konkani food lovers. Mind blowing taste, Crabs and kheema are to die for. Excellent service. The owner Mr. Ganga dhat has a keen eye on his customers. He walked up to me and asked me what I do and how come I came so often there. Nice humble guy. Winner besides the taste is the cost of the place. You can eat whatever you want and I bet it won't cross 500-600 per person, that too for freshest possible sea food.

Amazing food.. Loved chicken sukha Nd moghlai.. can't talk much about the ambiance nd service as I never visited the resto.. but got the food delivered.. though their delivery is pretty quick..

Been here today on 25th November, 2016 with my college group, though being a Malvani or coastal restaurant this will serve you a great quality of Tandoori Chicken.
Staff is well enthusiastic and really kind.
Ambience is pretty good.
All in all is great deal for your money.
Never visited this place personally, always got my food home delivered...so can't talk about Ambience and Service in the restaurant.
The food is very Tasty and Affordable....I have tried many chicken dishes...few times I also got the non-veg thali delivered....they have always Delivered in Time...the Quantity is enough for two people....just ask for few extra Chapatis or Rotis....
They are good in customizing the food...I prefer eating food cooked in very less oil and they did it every time I have requested.
In a nutshell, it's a complete value for money.
My favourite is the surmai fry, dal fry and lape fish curry. Small place with typical gomantak food. Nice for takeaways. Popular in the neighbourhood
Had ordered for leap fry,clamps dry and surmai fry i guess this was the best sea food especially the taste of the fried fish was yummie...must try for all fish food lovers and at a cheaper price.
The 2nd time i ordered i found the prices were good but the surmai was not fried well and the fish was not fresh if ur a fish lover do try leap fry its good but surmai only sometimes

Taste and taste alone is the reason you should visit this place... Konkan Swad's power lies in providing quality, fresh and tasty food in really affordable prices!
Do not expect service here, the staff is good hearted and honest however they are very few and irrespective of crowd or not, they mostly stay in the kitchen supervising the food being prepared and you can see that in the food, it's amazing! But if you need water or want to order something more, you'll find it difficult so beware..
Now coming to food, they excel in malvani preparations and so don't expect miracles if you order Chinese or tandoori items, and you really need to a taste for original malvani Marathi food to enjoy here! Authentic food!
And as long as you stick to fish, prawns and chicken, you're bound to fall in love with them.. You can check out the size of the sea food they'll be serving before placing the order so there's a lot of transparency there...
I've always loved their surmai, pomfret, bangra, crab and prawns..
And one last tip, be sure to give them a call to see if they're open before blindly heading out.. And ya, end your dish with the super kokam curry!

I went with my four other office colleagues to this place. Ambience is good, service is good. Now coming to food, the taste is good..but does not felt that taste of malvan food. I wasn't much spicy as I expected that konkan food is spicy. We ordered fish fry. Only two pieces was served..but the taste was good..dint expect from its appearance. I would suggest go for tawa fried fish in case you going with group. Quantity of chicken masala as per the price they charge is also less. So, I would suggest if they charging good amount, then they should keep a good portion size. Prawns curry was also okayish not so great. Veg sezwan rice was gud, it tasted better than other dishes we ordered. So..verdict is food is good and descent with less portion size if you order seafood with high price.

The food served here is fresh and tasty. What we had ordered included Pomfret Tawa Fry, Mutton Sukkha, Dal Tadka and Tandoori Rotis. All the items were exceptionally good. The restaurant claims that they prepare the food afresh everyday. The taste proves that to be true. Staff is very polite and serve you with a smile.
Good for sea food . They also serve Thali for both Veg and Non veg. Be assured the veg food is also good . If you are hardcore seafood lover then these Hotel is best for you to try at least once . You can Reserve your seat for corporate lunch and even good to go for lunch/dinner with your family.
A seafood lover should definitely come to konkan swad . One can get a good crab curry and they show it before making it. Bombil fry is a famous dish here. Dont forget to order solkadi for good digestion.
Terrific value-for-money thali place, which is clean, generous and reaches your place in express time. What more do you want? The vegetables in the thali change everyday and one mouthful and you know they weren't turned out in a hurry. Love the Malvani curries there. The seafood is the highlight, of course. They don't do everything every day and the daily menu is entirely dependent on the catch of the day. Honestly, Hotel Konkan Swad is your catch of the area (Malad). Don't confuse it with the bigger but worse Grand Konkan Swad, which is on Link Road. This is inside on the Chincholi Bunder Road opposite Joey's.
Food is par with subtle quality & good value for money. Got a chicken biryani ordered from this place & it tasted like a home-cooked delicacy. Of coz, they aint good with the chinese dishes, however, worth a shot for south indian delicacies.
This place ambience is not so attractive but after all food matters. Regular mostly for home delivery. The chicken sukha and prawns masala fry amazing. Tried with some other konkani/malwani restaurant in this area but are so so. No real test neer roti and wade are also good .Delivery is fast and service is good.

Very much affordable place with good quality food. This place belongs to the category of food joints that you can visit on a regular basis to have your meals. Service is efficent and respectful. If you just want to have some good and simple food, this is the place to be.

Rice Bhakri had an appreance of dosa not bhakri.( soggy nt grainy)

I fail to understand why this place has been getting negative remarks. I was at this place just a few hrs back. And I am here right now, at 1 in the night writing a review abt this place. And no. It isn't because of a negative experience. I found this place to be simply amazing.
I entered this restaurant at 11.40 in the night. There were hardly anyone at this restaurant and we were welcomed by the brewing aroma of seafood being prepared in typical malvani style.
The place seems a bit small and doesn't have much to offer in terms of ambiance. As usual, I asked the steward to hit me with their best and he definitely was successful in moving me big time.
The service was prompt. But then again, we were the only ones there.
Once the order was placed, plates were placed on the table and they gave us chatni and onions as a side dish. The chatni grabbed my attention. It tasted simple and amazing. The first dish that made its way was prawns tawa fry. Even though the quantity wasn't that great, the taste was. Next was surmai jumbo fry, rawas gravy and bombil fry. Man... The entire experience was nostalgic. Reminded me of mom preparing all these dishes for me. The fish was fresh, tasty and the quantity was decent. I called for bhakri (rice flour flat bread) to go along with the gravy. It was amazing, served hot and soft a combination that you usually do not get in other restaurants. Next came the prawns biryani. Another wow. Properly prepared less spicy, in other words, spot on. To call it a day, sol kadi was ordered. Another winner. I do not think I have had such amazing food off lately anywhere. as compared to other restaurants, KS doesn't have a on ur face spicy food being served under the pretext of malvani food. Its not always about the spice but also the balance. The food was very subtle but yet tasty.
And all this at a cost of 1900/-. That is cheaper than most of the sea food restaurants around it.

Excellent place for ordering typical Mangalorean sea food especially Bombay duck fry, neer dosa n chicken curry, prawn pulav and fish thali.. whenever we ordered we overdo it but surprisingly the bill never exceeds 1000 bucks.. taste way too good for the price u pay..

If u are not concerned about the ambience this place is worth visiting. This dishes here can easily take your taste buds for a ride. Sukha chicken is the major attraction of the place. Prepared with ethnic masala along with grated coconut will give u an experience worth sharing. Prices are reasonable and service is pretty quick. If u r a true fish lover this place is highly recommended. Never had an opportunity to see the kitchen but I have been eating here for past three years and never fell sick. So hygiene and quality must be good.
This place serves one of the best pocket friendly malwan food , which i have eaten . The restuarant serves classic red crabs with multiple curry options to be made in . The food served has a decent quantity .
And it is definitely a place to try for crab lovers .

First and foremost do not mistake this hotel with the one by the same name at Link road . The one at link road has AC n a first floor too . This place which i appreciate is a verrrry small joint with just four tables.
Its one of the best places for authentic sea food with home made taste n economical charges. I highly recommend the konkan n manglorean sea food specially the shimlya masala n shimlya sukha. Fish in the fish thalis is as per size u ask n we got a really big piece of fish . In 110 rs the bangda thali is just unbelievable. What i like most is the simplicity of the food cooked in different masalas. Usually hotels have the same masala for different gravies . The neer dosa cld be better but then u dont mind it with the food u having it with.u
Its a very small place and cld be easily missed . The waiter too is eager to suggest dishes as per your taste . Because they make it on the spot i guess they ask how much spicy we need it , my mom was specially asked if she cld eat spicy food. I noticed many take away orders too. Worth every rupee spent there. Hope they maintain the quality of food .

My regular Lunch joint. Awesome food. Especialy Prawns Masala Fry. Mutton Malwani is also good. If you like super spicy stuff, try their Dal Tadka... Your mouth may be on fire but you simply cannot put it down.
I went there for dinner last night. Firstly, they showed us a variety of marinated fishes which was awesome. We ordered for prawns fry and pan fried surmai. Both of them were perfectly marinated and very fresh. They were awesome! The chicken masala boneless curry that we had ordered was very average. Not recommended. We ordered for prawns pulav too. The prawns weren't marinated well. Again, not recommended. All in all, this place is awesome for fried fish and fish curries. Anything else will be a waste of money.

tasted true malvani food here. best part is the neer dosa, tandyachi bhakri and the awesomest kombdi vade. prawns tava fry was a bit costly with only 10 to 12 medium size pieces for Rs 280. But still its easy on the pocket considering other resturants
so the damange on our pocket was near about Rs 600 with chicken sagoti, prawns tava fry, bhakri, neerdosas and vade. and ofouse rice and curry
There is no better economical place for sea food. The quantity and quality matches the price and the people right from owners to waiters are very polite. Comfortable ambience. Good spread and choices of sea food. Only thing missing is a non-veg sea food thali. Add that and they get better ratings.

Value for money . No frills place. Consistent in flavours. Been visiting Konkan swad for over 18 months now. Vades n prawns curry and slice of pomfret fry and teesrios are fab. Small and quaint place. Love it
Been here umpteen number of times the place can be easily missed in a blink of an eye. A very small eatery but they do good food for the price you pay. I've mostly been sic stuck to thali's here specially chicken.
One thing you won't know is you can choose any dish from the whole menu of usual gravies and tell them to make a thali of the same at nothing extra , my usual bet is chicken Malwani thali which is a good bet here.
Thee staffs not that cooperative but eeh what all can you ask for in that price?

After reading all the rave reviews online, I decided to check out the place last night. The place is incorrectly marked on Google Maps so overshot it by a Km and had to turn back. Its right at the beginning of Chincholi Bunder, opposite Joey's pizza (which I love by the way, but that is another review).
Unlike what other reviewers had mentioned, the place was not even half-full, so got a table easily. My friend had recommended the crab particularly, but they didn't have any that day. Settled for gorging on fish - the bombil was pretty good, crisply fried without being mired in oil, the bangda fry was superb - the best dish of the night. The prawns fry were so-so and not worth the 120 bucks for seven pieces. Considering its one of the pricier items on the menu, you should definitely order something else. The Prawns biryani was completely passable - give it a miss. Had the Mangalore style Surmai which was a thick gravy with a very tangy flavor. I found it ok, but my dinner companion loved it.
The place is a slightly upscale dhaba - with prices to match. Completely lacking in any ambience, the draw is the food here, which it is well-worth the trip.
