A small little food outlet situated in the next lane following Candies. They have plenty of options to begin with we ordered the Chicken Fried Rice which was yumm and had an amazing quantity 2 people can easily share one,and for the side dish we ordered the Chicken Garlic Tandoori which was a little bland in taste but well cooked, for the dessert we ordered their Chocolate Tart which was good. Prices are little on the higher side and Quantity of their dishes are good

Mac Craig serves the best 'budget' burger in Bandra.
Low on budget? High on hunger? Mac Craig is the place to be. Drop in - Opposite Gold's Gym.

When there's no dinner at home, we usually hop by Mc Craig for some quick snacks to satisfy our hunger pangs.

Its a small outlet located opposite Gold's Gym in Bandra, with an outdoor seating of 1-2 tables.

We usually pick up their rolls and burgers. We have tried the BBQ Chicken roll, Chicken Tikka Roll and Crunchy Chicken Burger. The filling inside the rolls and burgers are good and taste delicious.

Verdict - Can definitely give this place a try.

Food is good, affordable and fresh. The lemon sponge cake had way too much icing sugar and became stale just the second day. Otherwise a good experience. Timely delivery too. I definitely plan to explore the menu more hear. The best chicken hot dog I have had so far.

The presence of the owner at this eatery in the busy by lanes of Pali was a boon when I visited. It is a meat lover's delight to see so much meat in front of you but I was on a vegetarian diet for the day. The paneer roll was nice with a soft roti and rich spicy flavours covering the soft delectable paneer. I shall soon go back for their other offerings.

One of my favorite spots to grab a quick bite, been here countless times but my order has been the same each time : Goa Sausage Bun, Chicken samosa, Ham and Cheese Bun with their very delicious side of Fries.

The mutton cutlet and the 3-4 types of Marination on the Tandoori Chicken are also delicious.

The food is yum and doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

Must visit for anyone who finds Candies too far off or pricey.

I have been eating at Mac Craig for 25 years now. Mac Craig used to bring me lots of happiness as a kid. That relationship still continues. As a kid I remember standing outside Mac Craig from 7.45pm onwards waiting for the clock to strike 8. Why? Because they had 50% off after 8pm. I would rate Mac Craig higher than Candies and Andoras. They might be smaller than both their competitors but their food has been consistent for two decades and it is also the 1st place in Bandra to standardise the menu that Mumbai fell in love with and all the other Bandra cafes went on to follow. Other cafes might have bettered some of the dishes but Mac Craig holds the honours for having the original taste which dates back to 25 years.

Now these are the things you must try from Mac Craig. Chicken Jungli Sandwich, American Club Sandwich, Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Smoked Chicken Salami Sandwich, American Hot Dog, Chicken Tikka Roll, Chicken Sausage Roll, Mutton Mince Roll, Chicken Roti, Chicken & Cheese Lollipop, Ham Cheese Croissant, Chicken Sausage Puff, Mutton Samosa, Tandoori Chicken Samosa, Prawn Pan Roll (made to order, not available on daily menu anymore but delicious), Chicken Steak, Marble Pudding, Jam Tarts, Lemon Tarts and Lemon Sponge Cake. I know that's a lot but this place is really-really good and everyone deserves to try these dishes that set standards.

My top 3 favourite dishes would be the Chicken Roti, Chicken & Cheese Lollipop and Tandoori Chicken Samosa. This place has also set standards in health and hygiene. All of the ingredients they use are of the best quality and are prepared in as less oil as possible without compromising on the taste. The Chicken Tikka Roti has chicken tikka salad rolled into a Roomali Roti. Every bite is 5 star when it comes to flavour and you feel so healthy after eating this dish because there is no oil at all. Their Chicken & Cheese Lollipop is also one such dish that other cafes have copied but none make it as good as them. This lollipop is a thick golden brown bread coating hiding succulent pieces of chicken and cheese inside. Heat the lollipop just a little bit so that the cheese melts just the right amount. Their Tandoori Chicken Samosa is different from the other samosas they serve, I think it's because they bake this one to make it healthy like its filling, that is the oil free tandoori chicken salad.

People who started eating at Mac Craig have remained loyal and till date are a regular. If you have tried other places in Bandra and haven't paid Mac Craig a visit then you missing out on some really good food. The service at Mac Craig is quick compared to their competitors and the food never ever disappoints you.

This is the kind of place you'll only find by : accident, through a real bandra foodie, or through someone who works at the editing studio opposite it. MacCraig is legendary to old Bandra crowd, and rightly so. They are one of the last remaining places in the area that serve honest and delicious food without fail. Try anything thats tandoori or baked here without remorse. Go there before lunch to really see the crazy variety of food items they manage to make for such a small outlet!

The history of Mac Craig goes back to their family business, Mac Ronnel’s on Hill Road, which was eventually operated in turns by Uncle Denzil and his sister on alternate days (the 3rd sibling went on to establish Candies, and needs no further introduction). Without any disrespect to the sister, but one could walk into the place and know if it was ‘Denzil’s day’ with the lovely aromas of that simple Sponge cake.

Moving on to the business he set up, Mac Craig today inspires that same feelings when one walks in. Fresh food and generous servings are the hallmark of most of the dishes here. You can pick up the regular fare of cheese/chicken/chutney sandwiches and not be disappointed. Some other unique offerings which are absent from other Bandra bakeries, but should have been staples, include Goa Sausage Bun and Roast/Corn Beef Sandwiches.

The mini meals have seen a marked improvement over the years. Inevitably one compares them to Candies and the Chicken Steak loses out. But the Stuffed Chicken is simply amazing and if you like the gravies from Catholic weddings (slightly on the sweeter and creamier side) you will love most of the Indian offerings here.

The triumph for me is really the Tandoori options. If you like your chicken with limited charring (from grilling rather than a traditional tandoor) this is the place that gets it right. Their bread rolls make a unique accompaniment to these items, but you could also opt for the roomali rotis if they are available. Parathas get a tad too dry for my liking as they sit for awhile.

Desserts are slightly above average but are priced really well. We always wait to buy their Easter Eggs and Christmas Marzipan. It’s a treat that takes us back to the days of the Marzipan animals Uncle Denzil would stock up in the shelves of Mac Ronnels.

Like a mini-Candies. The food is cheaper though. And more filling too. However it is just a small kiosk-like place. So not the mind where you can meet in numbers. Their Parathas and Rolls are the best here.

I was blown away with the very first bite I had of the ham and cheese croissant. And was further amazed on having the chicken samosa.
Lemon tart was a delight as well, perfect on the sweet quotient.

The original Mumbai Quick serve. A tiny outlet with hardly any space to sit down and eat , they are more of a grab and go place , with a wide range of pre cooked heat and serve dishes ranging from Biryanis, and BBQ chicken to tools and sandwiches , not forgetting their wonderful deserts.

At times they are over shadowed by the more famous eatery of the same genre and incidentally from the same family , the oh so famous Candies. If I am not wrong they have their bakery in the same family bungalow that houses Candies. Hey that reminds me , like Candies , they also bake there own bread and other baked products like puffs ext.

The place is not as glitzy and sparkling as it's more popular neighbour , but the food is equally nice and more friendly on the pocket. My favourite here is their Chicken Mayo Sandwich , mutton samosa and also a great ham and cheese. They also do nice crisp potato chips with the sandwiches. Truly have never really cared much about the Mains , like Biryanis and BBQ ect.

Friendly people behind the counter and fast courteous service , more importantly not as crowded as the other place. I go there when looking for a change from Candies. This place would have been a great visit anywhere in the city , except where it is , right next to Candies ,which to me scores over it in all deportments except the pocket friendly , value for money dept.

ENJOY

Usually a last minute resort but almost never disappoints when you want a cheap and effective, non crowded option to Candies like food without the madness of a candies perpetual rush hour. I usually go for their puffs, quiches and pies versus their biryanis and tandooris (let's leave that to the experts). Most definitely a bandra classic.

I'm a little possessive about this place. So possessive that I didn't want to write about them, and share it with everyone. I remember going to Mac Craig as a little kid, and my mother would buy me their Lemon Jam Swiss Rolls. I went back to eat the roll years later, and it tasted just the same.

Mac Craig is housed in the same lane at a host of famous Bandra restaurants such as Suzette, Papa Pancho and BusaGo. Yet this tiny, little, take-away joint remains unknown to many. With barely two tables and four chairs this joint is frequented by those who want a quick bite on the go. The menu looks freakishly similar to Candies just down the road, and you'll get some trademark Candies dishes here too. You can call Mac Craig a cheaper, smaller version of Candies.

Expect rolls, burgers, mini meals, sandwiches, colourful drinks, and desserts here. And if you're lucky you may get to try some of their specials. On offer that night was Roast Stuffed Chicken and Pork Sorpotel. The Pork Sorpotel was deliciously tangy, spicy and had well cooked chunks of meat. Instantly transported me to Goa. Paired with their soft dinner rolls, this made for a finger-lickingly good meal.

Mac Craig's Goa Sausage Bun (Rs.60/-) features on Mumbai Boss's list of 100 cheap eats under Rs. 200 in the city. And I agree! This fluffy bun comes filled with sausages in an onion-tomato mixture and makes for a yummy snack. This time however, there were lesser sausages in the bun than I remembered it to be.
The Lemon Jam Swiss Rolls (Rs. 30/-) were these soft, spongy cakes filled with lemon jam in the center and dusted off with sugar powder. This was like a little trip back in time.

Bandra does have some fantastic eateries & this place is one of them. I used to be a fan of their lemon Swiss Roll. Something I started eating 12 years back. Till date the taste is the same & I get most of my house party snacks from here.

Small cozy place with only a take away and some call it a mini candies. I would agree as most of the menu is similar & so is the TASTE !

Their quality is good and priced slightly lower than candies. The food is fresh & drinks are good too. Spl the iced teas.

They have a wide dessert menu like lemon tarts, chocolate tarts & much more.

The first thing that hits you it's the aroma of fresh food. Can get you hungry even if your not !

Parking can be a problem here.

Good stuff. Good change from the regulars

I really dont like to review food joints when I see billions dying out of hunger everyday and this one is perhaps my first review because its worth it. A quick 100 bucks variety meal provoked me to write this. Sure shot - a takeaway place unless you visit in afternoon. I went alone roaming around out of hunger on sunday noon and ordered aloo paratha, 2 samosas, paneer pattice,n a choco like bomb called Eclairs something. (m a veggie) So much in store for non.veggie guys that I felt miserable for being a veggie. Really a quiet place just beside papa pancho da dhaba. Just go and grab it.

This place is near candies and that's the reason why not many people go here. It's good for lunch and the service is fast compared to candies. The desserts that are available on the menu are rarely available in the bakery.
My favourite small snacks here is the paneer tikka roti and maybe all the rotis. They are tasty. Not much place available outside to sit and chill with a big bunch of friends. Pricing is decent enough.

Whenever I have a craving for Sandwiches/patties/burgers I head to Candies. This time around me and my friends planned to do something different. I had heard of a new place called Mac Craig near pali naka that serves good Goan Sausage bun and decided to try it out.

Mac craig is located in what can be termed a Bandras version of Khao galli at pali naka bang opposite golds gym. Its a small place with around 3 tables outside. We started off with a Goan sausage bun, Beef sandwich, chicken pattice, chicken puff, lemon tarts. The sausage bun and beef sandwich were simply awesome. The lemon tart was decent. The chicken pattice and puffs were just about passable.

The prices are very reasonable. Its more of a takeaway place so can't talk much about the ambience. Service is good.

To sum it up I prefer the sausage bun and beef sandwich here anyday to Candies. In case in hungry for more Candies is 50 meters away.

Whenever I want to eat a burger, Mac Craig is the place I prefer to goto.. The burgers here are the most juiciest and meatiest.. thick mayonnaise, greens and the patty filling is almost a full meal.. Chicken and in Mutton , this is one amongst the best of the places for a burger.. and this for Rs 70.. Mac Craig takeaway and home delivery are very popular and other than the burgers has lot more to offer..it also has a small patio seating area and evenings can be a delight , only minus it runs out of its goodies fast and does not replenish a lot of the stuff that is available during the day.. So what else can you have? In the Sandwiches, have the corn beef, tuna salad and smoked chicken salami..In Parathas, Mince Mutton,Methi, Aloo and Chicken, thick ,well stuffed and good.. If you prefer a fuller meal, Beef steak is very good..fish n chips, biryanis, fried rice, noodles are quite delicious..Top it up with superb Mousse, lemon cheese cake or even a Hot Chocolate drink..

He has a fridge with some fresh cold drinks and the aerated stuff. They have a microwave on premise for stuff you want today immediately, and 2 small tables on the outside.

The Goan sausage stuffed bun is excellent and I would also recommend the ham and cheese croissant

Mac Craig is a small and relatively unknown bakery located bang in the middle of hipster central, Pali Naka. In my 4 years living in Bandra as a bachelor I frequented this little joint not just for the food, but also for the warm, hospitable feeling that it exuded. There is a lot on the menu that will remind you of Candies, but since not many know of this place its hardly ever crowded. Though not the best, the food is lip smacking good and has a somewhat homely feel to it. Nothing here is overpriced at all, you get exactly what you pay for. For a little joint like this, the staff is exceedingly polite; they always say 'Hi' and 'Thank you'. Over the years, Mac Craig has hardly bumped up their prices and food quality remains decent. I just hope this little Bandra joint doesn't get commercialized and overcrowded anytime soon.

One can be forgiven for walking past Mac Craig without even noticing it. Tucked away at one end of a row of restaurants a minute's walk from Pali Naka, this is one of those places you feel good about discovering. And then you're not sure whether or not you want to share your little discovery with your friends, because more people means less food for you.

Though less glamorous than its older cousin, Candies, a few hundred feet down the road, the food at Mac Craig is definitely better. The Ham and Cheese Croissant is brilliant, as are the Goa Sausage Bun and Sorpotel. Desserts are cheap and tasty, and two people can have a proper, filling meal for under 300 rupees.

Above all, the place is clean and the staff friendly, making this one of those places you want to keep going back to.
