If you are in and around Girgaon chopatty and you love paneer bhurji then you can't miss this small restaurant. As my father have been visiting since last 15 years and to be honest they serve one of the best paneer bhurji in Mumbai.
If you are here then you must try double butter pav bhaaji along with chutney fry/onion fry (To enhance the flavour even further).
They have a very limited items in their menu but whatever they have tastes great.
Chintan Khorasiya
Very tasty paneer bhurji with delicious Parathas. Other things are just okay. Small place with less menus. But famous for paneer bhurji in girgaon area.

Amazing fast food restaurant at girgaum, like the masala pav, a unique way to prepare masala pav which very less restaurant offer of such a kind.
Iam a big fan of masala pav made here, customer since almost 2 decades and taste is still the same.
Pav bhaji is also one of the best of entire mumbai. Don't go with the ambience, if you are a pav bhaji lover just try.

Popular eating hangout for Pav Bhaji lovers, also you can find Tava Pulav, Masala Pav & amazing Paneer Bhurji with Paratha. It's loaded with lots of Butter.
There are many more dishes also available but theis are most popular one.
This place was crowded during afternoon & night time. So you might need to wait for your turn.
You can find two wheeler parking here but car is difficult

Visited this place along with a colleague.
Since this place was known for its pav bhaji dishes, we ordered Amul Butter pav bhaji.
The bhaji was well made in amul butter along with another layer of butter over it. Even the pavs were completely laid with butter. Also qty of extra tomatoes and onions provided was really good.
The pav bhaji was really heavy and totally worth the price

Space and ambiance was decent but service was really good.
Overall its a treat for pav bhaji lovers.

Pav bhaji and paneer bhurji with paratha over here is really good. I have tried it a couple of times in the past. The place is very small near with seating of around 15-20 people but the service is very fast. Price is economical and overall it is a good place to try food on budget.

A hidden gem!!
Apart from the famous pav bhaji, the paneer bhurji with butter paratha will surely make you visit this place quite frequently!!
Since it is not at all heavy on the pocket people do visit here in great numbers!!
With amazing taste and this pricing it is worth the visit!

It's a spot on combination of super Healthy and wonderfully Tasty Food. No doubt about this. Gave us some good suggestions and we are happy with the recommendations. No complaints about the service. Very happy and satisfied. Totally Totally impressed with the Food they make.

Jalsa offers two variants of Pav Bhaji: One is prepared in oil and the other one is prepared in butter. I tried the butter preparation and it's good in taste and definitely worth the price. Another unique feature that I observed was that many hotels offer only sliced onion with pav bhaji; here they offer sliced onion and sliced tomatoes as well.

Service: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Taste: 5/5
Value for money: 5/5

Jalsa is a small eating outlet with a menu of limited items , they are well known for Pau Bhaji and Tawa Pulao , customers have the liberty to customise their order ie less spicy less buttery etc, both the above items taste very nice , the portions are huge and is very pocket friendly, good place to get a quick bite
Tongue_tasterrr
jalsa which is famous for it's bhav bhaji serves a delicious butter pav bhaji which seems oily but it is not oily at all and seems to be the homemade one.. the pav are also butter fried.. we did end the pav bhaji with 2 glasses of yummie masala chaas..
#tongue_tasterrr #mumbaifood #mumbaikar #streetfood #mumbaimasala

There were two very popular Food Joints opposite to Girgaum Church. One is Jalsa and another is Manohar

Jalsa is very Popular for its Paneer Burji and Pav Bhaji.

One can have paneer bhurji anywhere, so I ordered Pav bhaji, as mumbai's pav bhaji is special.

When I reached, i saw they were using only 4 vegetables like (boiled potato, peas, Capsicum & Onion with decent amount of Butter and masalas) to prepare Bhaji which i Guess makes Mumbai Pav bhaji really special.

As per my earlier experiences in Pav bhaji, which i had in North India, Jalsa pav bhaji was very Delicious & Different

One thing which i Understood is that in North India, several other vegetables are also used apart from these 4 vegetables for the preparation of Bhaji, with lot of butter that i guess spoil the taste of Bhaji.

Jalsa's pav bhaji had the right amount of butter, vegetables were properly crushed, moderate spices were used in it.
They served with 02 pavs, Onion, Lemon and Bhaji

Sitting space is around 15 to 20 People.

I found the prices are bit on a higher side.

If you would like to have visual experience of this food joint, you may watch a video on our youtube Channel - Visa2explore mumbai street food ep-1

Limited place to sit, ambience is not quite good but food is delicious especially cheese pav bhaji is must..
Must visit place it's very close to say cheese

This is an okay restaurant at the max. The food is below par. Staff is also not so good and the prices are comparatively sky high. Even when it has a competition of a restaurant beside it than also it hasn't improved in recent years. Food-2.5/5. Staff-3/5. Ambience-2.5/5

Pure , tasty , economical food. Had Panner Bhurji with Roti. Made perfectly as required. Less spicy, less oily. Good quantity. NO AC. Only fans. Normal eatery. Still old benches to sit . Food worth to eat.

Well I landed up at this restaurant as I had not carried my lunch and was hungry!! So I was craving Pav Bhaji & Jalsa came to my rescue!! :)
They serve varieties of Pav Bhaji here and they even have an option to avail Only The Bhaji!! The taste is good, bread is yummy, quantity very good and it's a simple and clean eat out place with seating available.

Delicious Pav bhaji. 0.5 marks deducted for service. But a very good place for pav bhaji n paneer bhurji. Ambience n all is not up to mark. From outside it seems to be a mediocre restaurant but for all pav bhaji lovers a must place to eat it once. Beware of the quantity. 1 is enough for 2
Mansi Patel
This place also gives good Pav Bhaji. I rate it second after Manohar Pav Bhaji which is right next to it... in the loaclity this two places give good Pavbhaji

Located in the crowded back road of Opera House, this is a fast food place most know for its Pav Bhaji.

We stopped by here and ordered the Pav Bhaji, Masala Pav and Biryani.

In terms of decor, place , cleanliness and staff this place would score a 2 at best.

The Pav Bhaji was good and so was the Masala Pav.
The quantity of the Biryani was huge and the taste was good albeit a bit spicy.

But then for the price , we would prefer to go to a Sukh Sagar which is nearby, is comparable in taste and price, but scores much better in terms of place and cleanliness.

Our advice - If you wanna try this place and stay nearby, order in. If not, then try and avoid.

For more of our crazy fun follow on

Instagram
@3Foodiots
@amaan__aziz
@armaan__aziz

Snapchat
@armaanrox99

If you are expecting hygienic place with good ambience, then this is not the place for you. Its a local Pav Bhaji joint where they serve tasty Pav Bhaji and Pulao.
They also serve Paneer bhurji with Paratha but, i will not suggest anyone to try it.
I've been here many times. Pav Bhaji tastes awesome on weekdays but on weekends, they fail to give the same taste.
Not bad at all for Pav Bhaji lovers.
Sanket Jack
Excellent joint for a quick snack! Amazing pav bhaji & pulao and value for money than some overhyped pao bhaji centers. The paneer bhurji with paratha is also amazing and do give a try!

Amazing Food, especially the butter pav bhaji and butter pulao, I just love it! You won't find better pav bhaji and pulao than this in any place in mumbai.
Pratik Gandhi
You might hear a lot of people praising about the Paneer bhurji & paratha which these guys serve, although it isn't up to the mark by any means. If you want to eat a good quantity food & are least bothered about the taste, then this place makes sense, otherwise its not at all great.

Try Paneer Bhurji with Butter Parotha.
One of the great taste I ever had as well Mix Pulav tasty.

Superbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
Tastyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Jalsa is one of those typical roadside joints with 4-5 tables and bare minimum infrastructure. But since my Mama highly recommend the PAV BHAJI here, I decided to give it a shot. The Pav Bhaji was neither spicy nor did it seem to have many veggies but was rich in butter and therefore turned out to be tasty and felt heavy. Although I do like my Pav Bhaji to be a little spicy, but I nevertheless enjoyed this one.
A decent option for a quick meal on the go.
TheJainGuy
The pav bhaji is amazing and so is the paneer bhurji...there's another branch at bkc inside the diamond market which is not as good as this one.!
Aditya Shirodkar
Jalsa ..as the name suggests Is PavBhaji Lovers Paradise & very pocket friendly..!
Double Amul Butter PavBhaji is yum with Khichiya Papad & Thumbs Up on the Rocks👍🏼.

Speciality-
Butter Tawa Pulao & Paneer Bhurji with delicious Reshmi Parathas..

Not much ambience or seating space..so eat in the car or take away..

All my friends literally fantasize the pav bhaji at this place and obviously made sure I had to come try it out .
After all that hype,I won't deny my expectations were pretty high and it dint take alot of time for my bubble to burst .
I had issues with almost everything about this place except the cheese masala pav!
It's a small place without a/c thus can get really hot at times and make you sweat like a pig and for reasons which I will soon mention below I am sure this place is nothing close to hygienic, you can't even imagine drinking the regular water there 🙊
Anyway let's get back to food now.
I had first called for cheese pav bhaji and Won't deny but it was pretty darn yummy till a strand of hair came in my mouth and I almost choked (and felt like puking ) but my friends wouldn't let me write off this place so soon, they ordered for an replacement and they were ready for one too but I wasn't ready to take the risk again.
So I made a slight change in my order and called for cheese masala pav and masala papad. It might have taken a while to come in but after masala pav, arrived it was a treat to my eyes!
No compromise on cheese, no compromise on butter and no compromise on taste😍😍😍.
And no sooner did I Start chewing the masala papad, could I taste A HUMAN NAIL in my mouth! 😱😖
My friends had to again call for an replacement and they humbly agreed for an replacement after delineating towards the nail But by then I had officially given up on this place and wasn't ready to chew any other human body part which came complementary with the dish so I just let it be and called for the cheque.
And for obvious reasons this place is definitely very cheap peculiarly .
This place is a like a 0/5 when it comes to hygiene or cleanliness or ambience .
The only thing you might really like is the masala pav or pav bhaji here, provided you're an absolut junky and have nothing to do with hygiene and hygienic surroundings.

Onkar Tendulkar
One of the tastiest pav bhajis in Mumbai. Also their Tawa pulao made in butter is sheer bliss. But it miserably fails on space (just 4 tables) and ambience (a very very small place almost on the road). Best suitable for takeaway!
Sam Sheth
Having pav bhaji here since years and its as amazing as it can get ! Masala pav and paneer bhurji with paratha are another great thing one can relish out here!
Hetali
Lacked space & ambience. Cramped up. Finding a place to sit it difficult (sometimes you have to share your table with strangers!)
Would recommend to order a takeaway.
Taste wise it was good but not so great or out of box. Normal pav bhaji. The limited menu is another set back.
The service was too slow. We had to wait 30 mins for order to arrive. Again takeaway seemed a faster option.
Abhishek Johari
Overrated paneer bhurji
This is a place for takeaways only as you cannot sit there and hv food
Had a stomach upset next day after having its food
Not coming next time
Jalsa and Manohar are almost the same but i love manohar pav bhaji, apna apna style haiii

Not the best place to have food, it is better to order it and have it in the comfort of your home. The pav bhaji is very famous and delicious (not for the diet-conscious). The pulav is average and the paneer bhurji is surprisingly luscious. But they need to work on the paranthas as they are very hard and you'll have a tough job chewing them. The food is moderately priced and the quantity is also very justifiable. Head here for a quick bite.
Ambience- 1.5/5
Food quality- 3/5
Service- 3/5
Neha Juwale
Jalsa is ideally known for its pav bhaji.
The quantity served for pav bhaji is more than enough for two, although always crowded and not so friendly staff you will never be kept unnecessarily waiting for your order, the place is a little cramped up.
Ambience :- Average
Value for money :- cheap
Service :- moderate
