A must visit place post shoppng for some lip smackng street seafood joint.....
In love with those prawns n that chatni ahaaaa buss pait bhar jaye niyat nai.....in love with the taste its jst soo tasty u cnt get over it once...
If you are looking for quick sea food eating joints, this is your best bet! The tandoor/fry prawns and the tandoori fish are amazing. Couple with the amazing mint chutney, this is lip smacking!
They basically charge by kilo, but prawns size is decent, deep fried in red koliwada type masala and given to you with onions + green mint chutney + lime...expensive but definitely a good starter. The prawns are obviously marinated in this koliwada masala before deep frying, prawns dont take long to cook in hot oil so best dish to have fresh and hot....
When I go to this area it is impossible for me to not visit this place as the aroma food that just lingers through your nose is amazing. Even if you are full still you will feel like eating.
Located in Bandra this is one of the best places if you want to try Prawns or any sea food. Had been here recently and we tried the Prawns Koliwada and we are still drooling over it! The fresh prawns marinated in spicy masala and deep fried made it just worth the taste. Though deep fried, they made sure that the prawns did not loose its original flavour and freshness. We highly recommend to try Prawns Koliwada if you ever plan to visit here. It is a perfect spicy starter for your meal ;) we are still craving for it and will surely visit this place very often just for this dish.
Let's tuck in like Prawn Stars ;)
The ambience is good and the staff is also very friendly :)
amazing place for non veg lovers. juicy and fresh pieces of meat. i tried punjabi fish masala and mutton masala both were delicious with garlic laccha paratha. do visit this place.
Visited this hidden gem of a place - Jai Jawan, Khar. Though the place is small, it is well managed by the staff. The cashier was very friendly and allowed us to film the place. Coming onto the taste, the food was just lipsmacking, every item we ordered was exceptional.
Food we ordered -
Chicken Tandoori - Not the best, would suggest to try other items.
Fish fry - Amritsari fish fry with the most tender fish ever. Crispy coating on the outside, would highly recommend this.
Prawns Fry - Delicious to taste. Also one important thing is that the food color added is very minimal which is a very good thing. Recommended.
Mutton Sheekh Kebab - Best ones I've tasted as a blogger. Great size and very juicy to bite. Have it with paav, kanda and chutney and ull be experiencing heavens.
Liver Potta Fry - Huge chunks of liver fried to perfection. This is also recommended.
I would recommend everything on the menu as it tastes delicious, whatever you order. Price considering the area is very much fair. A 50/5 definitely.
Biryani was simply amazing. The best one I’ve had till date. Nothing fancy in the decor but the taste speaks for itself.
Okay! so they are well known between sea food lovers! the sea food here specially their prawns and prawns variety is to die for**
Though they have very less variety for veg lovers but the taste is good!
Quantity is less and price is on a little higher side. But its still a hit between seafood lovers!!
**Highly recomended
It feels so great when you see food right and it feels even more great after long tiring shopping hours. And the place am talking about is right exactly in the middle of the lively street on the Linking Road of bandra in between the shops. Usually we end up eating here only whenever we come for shopping at bandra Linking Road. They are famous for their seafood and specially prawns. It’s been decades now that this place is here and the taste still remains the same. The chutney which they give compliments the prawns or chicken. At the Linking Road outlet you will get all fry and tandoor dishes. They also have a outlet in Khar where there is proper seating arrangement. Their you will get all indian cuisine food and the prawns which they serve at both the places are worth the money you give. You will never be disappointed and it’s always a treat to visit jai jawan
Visiting this place since many many years. This is the 2nd outlet of jai Jawan where you can sit and eat. It's a small outlet in bandra which opens after 7 in evening.
2 dishes are very popular here chicken tandoori and prawns fry. All the dishes are priced reasonably accept prawns fry, rates of prawns fry which is the popular dish here is priced for Rs. 450 which is expensive. But the taste is too good. Rest all the dishes served here are nice like chicken tandoori, chicken banjara kebab and biryani.
Please follow me on my foodstagram @onehangryboi and @tallhungryboy
Being a Bandra boy, this place has been a staple since my life began. The freshest fish🐟 and prawns🍤 are fried in front of your eyes!👀 The chicken tandoori, and the chicken tikka are fan favourites too, do try them.

Such an amazing place ti visit........situated in the main locality of bandra .....famous for its tandoori n sea food ......a must visit place if you are a mumbaikar
Best butter chicken in town 🤤 The prawns and other seafood is also very fresh and tasty
Went shopping to Linking Road Bandra in the evening a few days ago so thought of visiting this place after a very long time. The stall is located amidst the street stalls selling shoes and readymade garments.
Jai Jawan is famous for their tandoori food.
We ordered chicken tandoori, punjabi prawns fry and punjabi fish fry. The food was freshly prepared and lip-smackingly delicious.
The best part is that they have maintained the same standard and taste over the years.
All the dishes were accompanied with their mouth watering chutney and sliced onions.
The only drawback of this place is being a street stall, there is no seating arrangement and one has to either stand and eat or eat in your car.
All in all delicious food at a great price.
Shopping at Linking Road always makes a person hungry and JJ’s chicken tikka always comes to my rescue. The chicken tikka is delicious that it is must have there. I prefer to have the chicken tikka stuffed in Pav with there special Hari chutney. It’s filling enough for two individuals.
Been eating here occasionally with my parents since I was a kid and now a grown up. The taste hasn't changed at all, the seafood here is simply lip smacking. Unbeatable taste. Even the chutney compliments well. Must try if you haven't already!
Just love this place. It is our favorite place to have fish in Mumbai from past 9 years. Went there a few days back, came to know they have a restaurant nearby where u can sit and enjoy your meal😁. It is just half a km away.
We order fish fry, prawn fry and chicken tandoori. Everything was soo delicious and they have maintained the same taste from years. The service was good. This place is a must try if u love seafood 😋
Superb outlet that serves excellent non-vegetarian food. The food served is always fresh and meat is as tasty and as juicy as you can imagine.
Just one word for dis place.... WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ... dil lut liya bhai... Prawns.... Perfect.... Service outisde by young guys is just too good...
Today i visit to jai jawan resturant and u just ordered fish and tandoori chicken and the both dish are very yum and nicely cooked I think they only need to focus on there spices overall all food was nice 👍🏻
Fresh, hot & crispy fish that is fried right in front of your eyes.
The outside is crisp while the insides and soft & tender.
In the difficult times of not finding fresh, comforting fish outside your home, this place doesn't dissapoint!
One of most famous and oldest corner. After shopping best place to have starters. They smell is so tempting that it starts craving. Tandoori Prawns fry and tandoori amristsari fish fry is the must try. They also have chicken Tikka, chicken seekh kebab, mutton Seekh kebab, chicken Banjara kebab.
Taste 5/5
After some quality shopping experience we used to have some quality food here. The dishes served here are really yumm and keeps you wanting for more. You just have to try it
This place brings back so many find memories I have as a child. I remember our family going shopping to Linking Road and then stopping here for a hog fest. Well, after 13 years fate brought me back to Mumbai for a week and I found myself back in linking Road looking for this place. It was a semi emotional moment for me reliving my child hood. The food as usual is AWESOME. We ordered prawn after prawn till we couldn't eat anymore. Then came the chicken tikka and the fish. While the chicken tikka was a disappointment, the sea food was hot and fresh and tasted the same as I remember. Due to some BMC regulation the stall size has become smaller and moved amidst the clothes shops however I would strongly urge everyone to visit and taste what amazing food is. Amazing!!
Oh and the added bonus. The guy manning the stall recognized me after 13 years. He used to work on the grills before but seems like he is running the stall now. What an experience.
One of the best place to have tandoori food in bandra it is right opposite to national clg quantity of the food is good nd taste is awsome chicken nd prawns lover people will like this place alot
One of the best place to have tandoori food in bandra.
Food is delicious. They serve you amazing fish fry, prawns and Chicken tikka.
Butter chicken is here is little different than usual but worth trying.
Loveddd the dal makhani.
Overall, one my favorite place to have kabas.
This place is worth all the hype, most recently I visited Jai Jawan and tried there famous special prawns and fish fry.
To start with prawns fry - large prawns deep fried with crispy thin batter which just melts in your mouth which served with green chutney, some onions and lemon wedges and pav.
Fish fry - Huge chunks of basa fish deep fried until it becomes crispy and flaky. How I wish I could eat this everyday.
I would recommend people to avoid going during rush hours. I visited this place at night around 9.30 - 10.00 pm when rush is less and you would good food.
Must visit😍😍😍
One of the decent places in Khar for some tandoori food!!
They make good fish tandoori and chicken tikkas. There is 2 part of restaurant, one is outside seating and other is inside seating. Outside seating gets you Dhaba feeling whereas outside seating gets you fine dine feeling.
Taste - 4/5
Service-3/5
Ambience- 3/5
Value for money- 3/5
If you love sea food this is the place to go.
The setting isn’t great so don’t come with high expectations. You can grab a plate of lip smacking prawns and just enjoy it in the car or on a bike or get it delivered. But I must say, it’s an experience if you go there and have it.
They have some amazing Indian starters.
Though I come here only for their prawn fry. 🤤
Given it 5 stars since I haven’t yet had a bad experience. The service is also fast and the food comes hot and delicious. What more can someone ask for.
It's a typical Punjabi place.
This place sells amazing fish and chicken fry.
With a lot of croud for their food they still manage to serve fresh fish.
Loved it.
The prices are reasonable.
Must try.
One of the best places for mughlai food in town and I can vouch for that. They never fail to please me and my stomach with their unbeatable taste with a reasonable price. Delicious food and at a good rate, what more could one ask for?
Jai Jawan is located right opposite National College on Bandra Linking Road. Heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a try. We ordered prawns Koliwada. 250 grams of Prawns Koliwada is priced at Rs 425. . Every sea food order is freshly made and served piping hot. The prawns were really big and juicy and flavour some although I’d like it a little more spicier. The green chutney that accompanied it was too good.
This is a street food stall and hence no place to sit but definitely worth visiting again for the food.
RECOMMENDED.
This place has been the point for tandoori chicken and prawn fry lovers. Have been to this place for last 8 years now. Will never let you down with the taste and value for money. Do try this place if at linking road bandra.
Had prawns fry and tandoori chicken. Prawns fry was fr 325rs for 250gms. And it was amazing. I never had something like that. Totally loved it. Tandoori chicken was good. They also offer pav for 5 rs.
Good food good hygiene of food awesome fish and chicken starters.must true mutton seikh kebab and koliwada fish. Awesome place to order Indian food

Prawns fry and mutton biryani. Excellent food and yummy. Service they need to improve. Cost is reasonable. Must try
Jai Jawan at linking Rd is very popular restaurant. This place is offen crowded with people especially in the evening and weekends. This some tasty, lipsmacking, tempting and delicious Mughlia food. Their starters very popular. This place is pocket friendly and worth for money. They don't have home delivery service.
Yummy fish ,& prawns, roasted chicken is softed & the chutney yummy.I used go every Sunday in 1994 -2006,then six month would send my husband on way from grant road he used get down in Bandra get for us but after he met with accident since four years when I or my son goes get it the taste is same since so many years.
"Jai Jawan" as the name suggests is the perfect indian food point. Jai Jawan is famous for it tandoori dishes. What makes this place so special is the spices used. Normally chicken tandoori or kebabs are prepared in mughlai based spices but here the tandoori dishes are prepared in authentic spices from Punjab. The dishes have a Punjabi touch to them. If you are a chicken lover you should go for the chicken tandoori and a plate of kebab with Pav. And if you are a fish lover then, try the amritsari fry fish. Jai Jawan is the best place for amritsari style tandoori in Mumbai.
Food is good but they have to change the menu also they don’t make it spicy peoples love spicy food too east or west chicken is best #FACT FOOD
Visited first time with my friend , wanted to order prawns fry , 250 grams i had ordered which was came very hot and fresh , i don't eat prawns mostly but i loved when i had there prawns

They have kept alive the real and authentic Punjabi taste and all the seafood items are worth giving a try.
Food is'nt that spicy but it surely plays with your taste buds with mixed flavors that completely tosses you around.
Service is great.
You can experience heavy rush in the evenings.
Ambience is decent, not something to be praised about but it does feel comfortable and cozy.
Overall the food is appetizing and its worth every penny.
Prices are quite reasonable.
It would cost around Rs.800-1000 for 2 people.
Jai Jawan has been a family favourite since 20years. Even the vegetarians of our family Accompany us only for the green chutney they serve. Fish Koliwada is our first order every time. The prawns are one to try!
Have always loved the food out here n have been eating here since the past 25 years and it's really surprising that they have maintained their food quality. Had some awesome fish tikka today...simply yummmm.
Jai Jawan is a small joint at linking road which serves lip smacking starters. Its a very well know place though its small. The chicken tikka, prawns fry, fish fry is amazing but bit expensive. The sad part is its too crowded.
On of the best places for road side non-vegetarian especially the fish. The fish is fresh and taste amazing.
If you are visiting the road side shops on linking road, do not forget to grab a bite at Jai Jawan...
Opens at 7pm. Located at linking road bandra. A famous stall
Known for its fish fry and chicken tikkas. Usually its too crowded. It is a bit overpriced but the taste is just awesome. You should try at least once.
Taste - amazing taste! Possibly the best Food of it’s kind. The meat is perfectly cooked and fish is even better. The quantities are large! Everything is freshly made, which makes the quality of the food ten times better.
Ambience - it’s a non a/c restaurant. Well lit and sufficient place to sit.
Service - It’s a busy restaurant which makes the service quick and efficient.
Must try - Prawn fry, Prawn Biryani, Chicken Tandoori, Caramel Custard.
Price - Quite cheap for the large quantities that they serve.
Jai Jawan is a small stall on the road, serving some lip smacking non-vegetarian dishes. It's been more then 10 years I have been eating here. They serve chicken tandoori, chicken tikka, fish fry, prawns fry, seekh kebab, kaleji fry and some other dishes. I have tried chicken tandoori, chicken tikka, seekh kebab, prawns fry and fish fry. My favourite is chicken tandoori and prawns fry. Prawns fry is a bit overpriced but it tastes delicious.
Awesome jhinga fry , Pota fry , Fish fry and Chicken neck and Chicken tandoori. Absolutely mouth watering prawns. Always fresh . Try them with Pao . Opens around 6pm and the stuff usually gets over by 9 or 10. So go there early .
The kababs here are to die for! While a seating arrangement would be preferred, the food goes excellently with the shopping experience on Linking Road, where the food truck is located.
Been here ample number of times. Butter chicken is BAE and Jai jawan serves the best butter chicken in the city. Creamy and tomatoish. It’s usually full but you’ll get a place if you go a little early in the evening. Their quality of good hasn’t ever depreciated and the butter chicken tastes the same since the last decade.
Yes the location of this place is not right.. but all wrong goes right when u take a bite of thier fish fry, prawns fry, seekh kebabs and may be all the other dishes they offer... it’s absolutely yumm and to top it all its thier dip the green mint chutney and onions... It’s absolutely mouthwatering and you’ll relish it!
I have visited this place multiple times, they serves very delicious food such as prawns koliwada, fish fry, tandoori chicken, paneer tikka etc. The best dish is prawns and fish are just awesome. A must visit place.
Delicious to the core!
That's the easiest way to describe the food at Jai Jawan.
It's been around since decades and that speaks for itself.
We usually do a takeaway from here.
Their Chicken Tikka and Mutton Sheekh Kebab is to die for. Also, they serve one of the best Biryanis in Bombay! 😍
One of the best fried sea food joints I've been to!
The Prawns Fry and Fish Fry are to die for. It is a mix of crunchy outer layer and extremely soft inner filling.
The chutney they serve is also very delicious and adds extra taste to the food.

Have the prawns fry with pav and you can thank me later for the idea. This place for me is full 5 and tht is all for the food it serves.
Jai Jawan on Linking Road, Bandra - An absolute gem in the plethora of street food that dots the city, this place has been serving delectable prawn fry for decades. Nestled between these shops along the main Road, be sure not to miss it..
Can be a bit pricy..but nothing can compare the perfectly tried prawns..!

Jai Jawaan, Bandra – A dedicated Punjabi Delighted food offering outlet in Bandra is just so awesome that one can have a craving for food just with the tempting odour of the food in the hotel. A proper food lover can actually have a visit to the place for saving hunger.
Chicken tandoori:–
A decent try of having a chicken tandoori with soft chicken less of bones in it. The dish was much good than being a starter and the affordable amount could make it more special.
Punjabi Fried Prawns: –
A Punjabi is a proper lover of Prawns which is served the best prawns in the city. A perfect blend of Fried Prawns and the spices with not too much of oil was the best of all the dishes, must try.
I ❤ Jai Jawaan, they make the best fried prawns & fish in the World, I could eat Jai Jawaan every day if I had the money. May god bless Jai Jawaan forever and beyond 🍻
We had been to Jai Jawan today for authentic Punjabi Food!
We decided to order their classic dishes;
•Chicken Tandoori - 3/5
Not the best chicken tandoori we have ever eaten, but it was surely a decent one which is worth a try when you order it in large groups. Avoid it when you are eating it alone.
It’s good as a party snack.
•Punjabi Fried Prawns - 5/5
We love prawns and Jai Jawan serves the best Prawns in this city! Perfectly fried with decent amount of spices over it.
•Butter Chicken with Butter Roomali/Tandoori Roti - 5/5
What’s the point of visiting a place serving Punjabi Food if you do not try their Butter Chicken?
Jai Jawan sells one of the tastiest Butter Chicken in our city and tastes well with Butter Roomali Roti and Butter Tandoori Roti.
What do we recommend you to eat here?
Punjabi Fried Prawns and Butterrrrrrr Chicken with Butterrrrrrrr Roomali Roti ❤️
